... Most strains of T. vaginalis are highly susceptible to these agents. Randomized clinical trials of these drugs have generally reported cure rates of 90 to 95% (Hager et al, 1980). Therapy with drugs other than 5-nitroimidazoles is an option, but cure rates were low as (Forna and Gülmezoglu, 2003) A single oral dose of 2 grams (four 500mg tablets) of either tinidazole or metronidazole, tinidazole was significantly more effective than metronidazole in several randomized trials; however, most of these trials were subject to bias since outcome was assessed by clinicians who were not blinded to the patient's treatment group. ...
