Microwave-assisted freeze drying (MFD) is particularly suited for drying heat-sensitive materials. However, optimizing process parameters is time-consuming due to lengthy individual experiments. This study investigates the feasibility of partial MFD for parameter studies, with the process being terminated after removing 20 wt% of the water containe...

Freeze-drying is a common process to extend the shelf life of food and bioactive substances. Its main drawback is the long drying time and associated high production costs. Microwaves can be applied to significantly shorten the process. This study investigates the effects of modulating the electromagnetic field in microwave-assisted freeze-drying (...

Question
I want to take thermographic pictures of an object under vacuum via an infrared camera. The spectral range of the camera is 7,5 - 13 μm. Is it possible to contain the vacuum under a plate of acrylic glass and take the thermographic pictures through the plate? The glass plate should be 200 mm x 200 mm in size.
Which type of acrylic glas can be used and which thickness should the plate have to avoid cracking?
Thanks in advance.
