How can i extract antenna efficiency from HFSS?
How can i extract antenna efficiency from HFSS? I have data of radiation efficiency from HFSS? CST have both radiation and antenna efficiency.

open hfss, move to the left side of the screen..look for "project manager".
- then go for hfss design under your project manager tab..
- look for radiation at the last.. expand it..look for infinite sphere..
- click on infinite sphere..then click "compute antenna parameters".
u r done..
or else, please try the conventional formula available, taking the parameters data available from hfss

Of course, it is very easy to obtain the antenna radiation efficiency.
You can derive it from the antenna radiation parameters.
Please find the attached file

You can try to use Calculator (based on fields, voltages, current etc) available in HFSS, if you have the formula. But otherwise there is only Radiation efficiency directly available in HFSS.

Dear Md Samsuzzaman ;
You can check radiation efficiency through formula, gain and directivity relation, if you want directly the radiation efficiency then in project manager of hfss there will be a radiation open it when your infosphere or your intended sphere, go to compute antenna parameters with your operating frequency, it shows the radiation efficiency along with various parameters.

Dear Md Samsuzzaman ,
you can directly plot the radiation efficiency in hfss.
Results>create far field>rectangular plot>antenna parameters>radiation efficiency

Open HFSS of your design and simulate, then go to result and follow the procedure. Results>create far field>rectangular plot>antenna parameters>radiation efficiency >absolute. It must be frequency Vs Radiation eff.

The Wheeler Cap method is using for measurement of efficiency of an antenna. Not need for simulation.

THANKS NAYAK JI, THIS METHOD IS OK. HOW WE TAKE THETA AND PHI AS 0 DEGREE, ANY REASON

If we designed E-plane antenna-ominidirectional (Patch/slot and etc) chose Phi=0 and for H-plane -directional ( Phi=90).But theta keep constant(0).
