Writing clean, clear, and easy-to-read scientific texts is the bread and butter of every researcher. Reaching a high proficiency in this skill is a life-long process.
Can you share with peers your experiences, approaches, and tricks that increase the quality of scientific texts? Thank you. :-) 🙏
Relevant answer
Answer
Contrary to commonly shared beliefs, repeated reading of the same text reinforces errors and avoids their discovery. The reason is that we, whether we want to or not, predominantly focus our attention on the information context of the given text instead of focusing on the sentence structure, readability, and grammar.
In the following is provided a list of techniques that enable us to proofread an important publication: article, review, book chapter, book, or others. Hopefully, others will provide a range of other approaches that can be utilized in proofreading.
• It is recommended to use a spellchecker, which is often built into the editor in use, to regularly check spelling mistakes.
• Regular grammar and logical consistency checkups of each sentence should become a habit. Rereading of the text is making the bread and butter of scientific writing.
• Making gaps between writing a text and its revision(s) in the length of one day, one week, or one month is desirable. Memories made during the preparation of the text are erased in this way. Everyone can easily spot mistakes.
After finalization of the entire text, the following steps are recommended to do in order to improve the text even further:
• Using an automatic spellchecker is a must.
• Using one of the freely available or paid high-quality online grammar checkers is absolutely necessary.
• Personally, I have found very useful scrambling sentences of the input text (Word or LaTeX format) extremely useful. In this way, the original red herring of the story is completely obliterated. I wrote a simple Python program to scramble the input text. From my experience, such scrambled text enables easy localization of logical errors of low level and grammatical errors.
• From the last two years' experience, the above-mentioned scrambling techniques enabled me to make fewer mistakes in the first place. Repeated errors are spotted, memorized, and avoided in the future texts.
• This replaces, to a certain extent, the presence of a human teacher.
• Use of different graphical templates to write the text, and the final stage, importing it into a by-the-journal-required template, enables breaking down the stereotype of reading the identical text repeatedly. Break our habit and allow revealing large-scale stylistically & conceptually based mistakes.
The task of the above-mentioned approaches is to break the flow of the ideas in the text and hence, break our stereotypes, which inevitably creates blindness to our own mistakes.

What are good artificial intelligence programs for content writing?
Relevant answer
Answer
It depends on what you mean by "content writing".
1) If you mean what are the best ones to write your content for you, the answer is "none." They will all write generic answers that more or less address the issue without much thought. They regurgitate what other people have said but remain vague and generic to avoid being wrong. However, for scientific endeavor, the devil is in the details and we are also looking for NEW answers to NEW questions; not rehashings of what other people have said. Furthermore, they often hallucinate and sometimes claim to do things to your specifications but have a "misunderstanding" of what your specification is.
2) If what you mean is what are the best ones to take ideas and bulletpoints of what you said and craft them into text / prose; *shrug* most of them are pretty decent, I suppose. However, you should probably do testing on several of them because they are often not transparent in how they trained their models, so your results may vary. For example, CoPilot is better at Japanese than ChatGPT in my experience.

What is the importance of writing good research problems?
Relevant answer
Answer
I think
Anastasia Kitiashvili
has given a good overview and I really recommend checking her answer. I would like to add on one point if I may. Defining good research questions can also help you to write your paper after you have conducted the study.
As she mentioned, the research questions will guide the study, but they can also guide your paper. Your introduction and literature review should be set up to naturally lead to your research questions. You methodology section should be written such that it explains how exactly you will answer those research questions. You results section should be written to answer exactly those research questions. Your discussion / conclusion should be talking about the results in terms of those research questions. They are very short words, but they are the entire foundation of not only your study, but also your research paper (if you write it well).

Question
1 answer
How do you write a good introduction for a research paper?
Relevant answer
Answer
The introduction should answer three important questions:
1. What am I writing about?
2. Why is it important? \
3. What do I want the reader to know about it?
An introduction should establish the topic with a strong opening that grabs the reader’s attention before giving an overview of recent research on your chosen topic. Avoid going too in-depth in the introduction; deep dives into your topic should be saved for the body of the paper. Background and historical context help explain to the reader why your research is important. The type of information you share will vary by discipline. As you reach the end of the introduction, you should begin to establish what you want the reader to know about your topic and research. This may include your focus and scope, the problem statement, and your specific research question(s), hypotheses, or objectives. Again, the information you choose to share here will vary depending on your discipline. It is always a good idea to check major academic journals within your field for examples of current best practices.

Question

How did you overcome the challenges of writing the results and discussion in the research paper?
Relevant answer
Answer
Each discussion section will vary based on the discipline and the subject of the paper. However, six basic rules can be applied to every discussion section to create a framework.
● First, summarize the key findings from the research and link them to the initial research question. Seek to answer this question: What should readers take away from this paper?
● Second, place the findings in context. This step will involve going back to the literature review section and analyzing how the results fit in with previous research.
● Third, mention and discuss any unexpected results. Describe the results and provide a reasonable interpretation of why they may have appeared. Additionally, if an unexpected result is significant to the research question, be sure to explain that connection.
● Fourth, addresslimitations or weaknesses in the research. Addressing limitations helps build your credibility as a writer, because the reader sees that you have thought critically about what your study does and does not cover.
● Fifth, provide a brief look atpotential follow-upresearch studies. Recommend a few areas where further investigation may be crucial. However, don’t go overboard with the suggestions, as they can leave a reader thinking more about the gaps in the paper rather than the actual findings.
● Sixth (and finally),conclude with arestatementofthe most significant findings and their implications. Explain why the research is important and remind readers of the connections it has to outside material, such as existing literature or an aspect of the field that is affected by the study

Question
1 answer
How can I write a discussion of a research paper?
Relevant answer
Answer
The discussion reviews the findings and puts them into the context of the overall research. It brings together all the sections that came before it and allows a reader to see the connections between each part of the research paper. In a discussion section, the author engages in three necessary steps: interpretation, analysis, and explanation. An effective discussion section will tell a reader why the research results are important and where they fit in the current literature, while also being self-critical and candid about the shortcomings of the study.

I happen to have experience in conducting Innovation assessments. I use the 3W+P method which consists of:
Winning Team : this states how solid the team is in collaborating in completing an Innovation project with the abilities and skills that each team member has to be able to complete the project in accordance with the goals and targets that have been set.
Winning Concept : this states how the project is taken based on major issues obtained from global issues, government issues, customer issues, business issues and process or product issues that have a direct impact on the innovation project being carried out.
Winning System : This states how the project is taken following a standard system and made improvements and then standardized back into a new legal standard.
Performance: This states how the project is carried out Control and monitoring well to be evaluated from various aspects that we have taken into account previously (e.g. Q C D S M P E ).
A good Innovation Project will apply the 3W + P concept properly and correctly by using improvement tools that are in accordance with their designation to monitor, control and evaluate so that the impact on the project can be seen clearly by everyone, including people who do not understand the innovation that is carried out on a basic basis to the scientists.

If so, how did the previous research say about it? Any external factors can link to high C? Maybe you also read the papers, test it out rigorously, monitor your bodies, and so on. This is what a research problem look like. After that, you need to explain why it formulates as a problem. Maybe you can say the previous research did not consider the individual differences in consuming eggs... So you try to understand this gap from your own perspectives, which you think it is worth to explore.

Would you provide me an hint for writing the abstract/summary for sequential explanatory mixed methods?
If possible, would you answer it with an examples?
Relevant answer
Answer
In a sequential explanatory mixed-methods study, the summary or abstract should clearly present the research process in a structured manner. It begins with a brief introduction to the research problem and objectives, highlighting the need for both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Next, it outlines the quantitative phase, including data collection methods (such as surveys or experiments) and key findings. Following this, the abstract describes the qualitative phase, explaining how interviews, focus groups, or observations were conducted to further interpret the quantitative results. The final part of the abstract summarizes the integration of both phases, emphasizing how qualitative insights help explain the numerical data. It concludes with the main findings, implications, and significance of the study. The abstract should be concise, coherent, and reflect the sequential nature of the research process.

I am currently writing up a GT study for my PhD and have been writing memos throughout the study. They are in various forms (written, visual, recorded, sticky notes etc.). My question is that they are obviously part of the analytical process and I have included this in my methods discussion, but can they also be part of my findings section as an alternative to verbatim quotations? I'm not sure if I'm missing the point of memoing!

In general, memos are part of the ongoing analysis process, rather than the results. The classic approach to reporting results in GT is to develop a set of conceptual categories and go through them one by one, with supportive quotations for each.

Can ChatGPT be used in educational processes in schools and universities, but in such a way that this is ethical and compatible with the principles of respect for copyright and the educational and other goals of the educational system institutions?
The development of artificial intelligence, including considering one of the many manifestations of its applications made available on the Internet such as ChatGPT, is both interpreted as a developmental opportunity and also as threats and new risks in the context of education more broadly. Already, data are emerging confirming that ChatGPT can help pass university examinations within specific courses and written examination formulas. ChatGPT writes creative essays for pupils and students, helps with book writing to generate summaries of various studies and a wide variety of texts. Consequently, ChatGPT is a major challenge in the education system. A particularly important issue is the possibility of using this tool for the automated process of generating the texts of theses with which students will pass their subjects as part of their course of study, and for generating the texts of theses 'written' by students as part of their final theses. A particularly key issue is the possible ignoring of the issue of reliable demonstration of source publications in credit and degree theses. This is because the ChatGPT also does not provide a complete list of all sources, including scientific publications, journal articles, books, etc., from which it has used, from which it has taken a certain amount of content, from which it has been inspired, from which it has taken data, etc. In addition, a particularly important challenge for education at the level of studies is the issue of the currently limited possibilities of verification by anti-plagiarism programmes of the aforementioned issue of verification of reliable use of sources, other publications and source materials by a student while writing his/her diploma thesis, including his/her bachelor's, master's, doctoral or habilitation thesis. It is therefore necessary to improve computerised platforms and anti-plagiarism programmes so that they are capable of verifying the reliability of a student's writing of a specific thesis. Within the scope of the examined reliability mentioned above, the issues of proper use of publications and source materials, proper use, i.e. without the use of plagiarism and with full indication of texts, publications and source materials in footnotes, are important. In this connection it is also necessary to appropriately update the procedures for verification of diploma theses by supervisors, i.e. research and teaching staff supervising the process of writing a diploma thesis by a student. The said appropriate updating of procedures should in particular take into account the issue of ethics of conducting research and writing the diploma thesis by the student, but also ethics in the context of the process of supervising by scientific and didactic employees the issue of writing the diploma thesis by the student. In this connection it is also necessary to carry out an appropriate update of normative provisions, including both the legal regulations functioning at the national level and also in the scope of internal, functioning in individual universities and schools regulatory normative provisions, regulations defining principles and standards of reliable writing of credit and diploma theses by students and the process of control and supervision of the issue of writing the diploma thesis by scientific and didactic employees.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
Can ChatGPT be used in educational processes in schools and universities, but in such a way that this is ethical and compatible with the principles of respect for copyright and the educational and other goals of the educational system institutions?
What are the ethical and copyright-compliant uses of ChatGPT in educational processes?

Dear Researchers, Scientists, Friends,
In my opinion, modern universities, in an era of rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), face the challenge of ethical and effective use of this technology in education. Students, using chatbots and AI agents, can generate texts, which raises concerns about plagiarism and academic integrity. On the other hand, the skilful and responsible use of these tools can support learning and inspire innovative research. When implementing anti-plagiarism systems and educational programmes, universities need to make students aware of the potential risks and benefits of AI, promoting an ethical approach to the use of these tools. Collaboration within interdisciplinary research teams, based on clear rules and guidelines, is crucial for the effective and responsible use of AI in science.
My research shows that artificial intelligence technology has been rapidly developing and finding new applications in recent years. The main determinants, including potential opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology are described in my article below:
OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR NORMATIVE REGULATION OF THIS DEVELOPMENT

Time is a transformational power. It changes everything, while itself staying unchanged. The transcendental layers of time, as weighty mysteries, enrich the intrinsic content of the universe, becoming a bridge between the temporary and the eternal. The metaphysical identity of time, which challenges the vanity of things, writes the symphony of the universe.
I would like to discuss: Is time a metaphysical dimension?
Relevant answer
Answer
You confuse time with existence. In many cases, existence can be approached metaphysically. Look around your world, observe: none of the objects, animals, bugs, etc. ask such a question. They don't have clocks, they don't use mathematics... They became necessary because of human awareness.
I apologize for my criticism. If your time has a connection to metaphysics, then keep researching, just avoid Occam's razor!

Good evening everyone,
I have a question,
Are there any funding opportunities available for writing publications? My PhD thesis is almost done, and I hope to complete it within the next week. After that, I would like to focus on writing publications, but I am unsure how to access support for this. I am not sure how long examiners will take time to review thesis and I don't want to commit myself for any work and while waiting for this whole process, I would like to dedicate time for publications.
How are most researchers managing publications? Are they pursuing this work independently, or do they secure affiliations, collaborations, or funding to support their efforts? Publishing undoubtedly requires significant time, effort, and commitment. This is my first attempt at stepping into this field, and over the next year, I plan to dedicate myself exclusively to this work.
I have explored options at the University of Manchester, but I have noticed a lack of dedicated support for students at this stage. Everything is often directed to the PhD supervisory team, but if the degree is completed, why is this still necessary? Some of us prefer to work as independent students, especially since supervisory teams are often busy and tend to delay responses, using up valuable time while we wait for examiners to review the thesis again.
I would appreciate any guidance or advice on how to access support or funding for writing and publishing after completing a PhD.
Regards,
Bushra

I am writing a systematic review and a fourth of the studies I found related to my topic are single-arm nonrandomized clinical trials. I applied the New Castle Ottowa Scale to them and all studies failed to meet the 70% cut-off. What is the best way to go about this? Or is it better to avoid including such studies in the review because they may be considered low-quality?

Hello. can i write for journal paper with different subject and instead earn money?
Relevant answer
Answer
Writing and publishing a journal paper can indeed be a rewarding academic endeavor, but it's important to clarify some aspects regarding the "earning money" part:
Most academic journals do not pay authors for their submissions. Instead, the prestige and recognition that come from publishing in a peer-reviewed journal can lead to benefits such as job opportunities, tenure, and grants, which can indirectly lead to financial stability. Some research projects may have funding attached to them or grants available for research in specific fields. If your paper is associated with such a project, you might receive financial support for your research efforts. Some open access journals may charge authors publication fees (Article Processing Charges, APCs) but do not generally pay authors. In some cases, these fees can be waived if you have funding or meet certain criteria.
Ways to Monetize Your Writing:
If you enjoy writing and want to earn money, consider freelance writing for magazines, blogs, or websites related to your areas of expertise. There are various platforms where you can find writing gigs. Leveraging your writing skills in grant proposals can be another avenue for earning money, particularly in academia and research. Offering services as an editor or peer reviewer for academic papers can also generate income. Providing consulting services based on your expertise can also be a lucrative opportunity.
While writing for academic journals is unlikely to earn you direct payment, it can enhance your career and provide opportunities for financial gain in other ways. If you want to write on different subjects, ensure your work is informed, robust, and of high quality, and consider other avenues to monetize your Zohreh Foladi writing skills outside traditional journal publishing.

Currently I am writing a review article on this topic. My major concern negative impacts.
Relevant answer
Answer
Elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels can have several negative effects on the efficiency of nitrogen fixation by Rhizobium bacteria through various mechanisms:
1. Changes in Soil pH:
Elevated CO₂ can lead to soil acidification, which lowers the pH. This change can negatively affect bacterial activity, including Rhizobium species. For optimal nitrogen fixation activity, both the bacteria and the host plant require a specific pH range, and overly acidic conditions can inhibit enzymes like nitrogenase, which is crucial for nitrogen fixation.
2. Metabolic Stress on Bacteria:
While elevated CO₂ can increase photosynthetic products in plants, theoretically boosting the supply of carbohydrates to Rhizobium, an unbalanced metabolism caused by changes in carbon and oxygen availability can induce stress in the bacteria. This stress may reduce their ability to fix nitrogen efficiently.
3. Decreased Plant Quality:
Increased CO₂ can lead to greater plant growth, but this growth might be unbalanced, especially if other resources, such as mineral nutrients, are limited. A lack of key elements like phosphorus or calcium, which are important for symbiosis and nitrogen fixation, can reduce nitrogen fixation efficiency, even if there are more carbohydrates available.
4. Changes in Root Morphology:
Elevated CO₂ can cause changes in root structure and morphology, including denser roots or fewer root nodules. If the number of nodules decreases or root structure is not optimal for symbiosis, the efficiency of nitrogen fixation will be reduced.
5. Inhibition of Nitrogenase Activity:
Nitrogenase is the key enzyme involved in nitrogen fixation. Increased CO₂ can lead to metabolic changes in bacteria that inhibit the activity of this enzyme. This directly reduces the bacteria's ability to fix nitrogen since nitrogenase requires a careful balance of carbon and nitrogen within the bacteria.
6. Oxidative Stress:
Elevated CO₂ may cause oxidative stress in both plants and bacteria, leading to increased production of free radicals. These radicals can damage cellular structures and reduce the bacteria's ability to perform nitrogen fixation. Oxidative stress may also shorten the lifespan of the bacteria and decrease their activity.
Although elevated CO₂ may, in some cases, enhance nitrogen fixation efficiency due to increased photosynthetic activity in plants, negative effects such as changes in pH, metabolic stress, nutrient deficiencies, and inhibition of key enzymes can reduce nitrogen fixation efficiency. Ultimately, the effects depend on the specific environmental conditions and the species of plants and bacteria involved in the symbiosis.

I had hoped to use Cohen's Kappa as a measure of agreement, however I'm not clear whether this is valid- most of the examples I've found have had two raters assessing an invariant stimulus (e.g. video or audio recordings of an interview), though I've found some research where kappa is calculated when the same patient has de novo assessments by two raters.
However, I have repeated measurement of a patient with one rater. Is it appropriate to use kappa in this situation?

Frequency has no energy.
If you practically multiply frequency f by a constant h using a physical multiplier, what you get is another frequency F=hf, not energy.
Frequency has no energy unless frequency is converted to energy by some physical mechanism.
Planck’s constant h is not going to have units (Joule second or energy/frequency) just because Planck said so. You need a physical mechanism to give h the units (Joule second or energy/frequency). There is no such mechanism.
Just because you can multiply frequency f by a constant h on your notebook, frequency is not going to convert into energy. You need a physical process to do that.
There is no natural physical process to convert frequency to energy as e=hf, as a linear function of frequency.
Frequency has no existence without amplitude and hence energy must depend on both amplitude and frequency.
Planck’s e=hf is utter nonsense, not science!
A charge particle can convert light into energy, but that energy is not given by e=hf.
If you want to convert apples to oranges, you need a factory process to do that. You can write Orange=h(Apple), but that is not going to do the physical transformation. You have to build a plant for the physical conversion and show that the transfer function of that plant is constant h with units (Orang/Apple). You should be able to input apples into the machine with transfer function h and get oranges as output.
Similarly, if e=hf is true, you should be able to input frequency f of any amplitude into a processor with transfer function h and get energy e=hf as the output. Unfortunately, there is no such processor in nature.
OK, you think Planck’s conjecture is correct, here is a challenge!
Provide a Physical Process that converts frequency f into energy e as e=hf.
You cannot! There is no such process.
Na ga da it.
e≠hf.
Planck's Blackbody Spectrum is cavity dependent.
Planck's conjecture e=hf is insane, just rubbish!

Bandula W. Dahanayake states that Planck’s e=hf is Silly! Utter Nonsense! He states that, Since Frequency has no energy, then if you practically multiply frequency f by a constant h using a physical multiplier, what you get is another frequency F=hf, not energy.
--------------------
But,...
Planck found that he had to relinquish one of his own most cherished beliefs, that the second law of thermodynamics was an absolute law of nature. Instead he had to embrace Ludwig Boltzmann’s interpretation, that the second law was a statistical law. In addition, Planck had to assume that the oscillators comprising a black-body and re-emitted radiant energy incident upon them, could not absorb this energy continuously but only in discrete amounts, in quanta of energy (or photons). Only by statistically distributing these quanta, each containing an amount of energy hν proportional to its frequency, over all of the oscillators present in black-body could Planck derive the formula (hv) he had hit upon two months earlier.
He adduced additional evidence for the importance of his formula by using it to evaluate the constant h (his value was 6.55 × 10−27 erg-second, close to the modern value of 6.626 × 10−27 erg-second), as well as the so-called Boltzmann constant (the fundamental constant in kinetic theory and statistical mechanics), Avogadro’s number, and the charge of the electron. As time went on physicists recognized ever more clearly that - because Planck’s constant was not zero but had a small but finite value - the micro-physical world, the world of atomic dimensions, can not be described by ordinary classical mechanics. A profound revolution in physical theory was born and earned him the Noble Prize in Physics.
Planck’s concept of energy quanta, conflicted fundamentally with all past physical theory. He was driven to introduce it strictly by the force of his logic; he was, as one historian put it, a reluctant revolutionary. Indeed, it was years before the far-reaching consequences of Planck’s achievement were generally recognized, and in this Einstein played a central role. In 1905, independently of Planck’s work, Einstein argued that under certain circumstances radiant energy itself seemed to consist of quanta (light quanta, later called photons), and in 1907 he showed the generality of the quantum hypothesis by using it to interpret the temperature dependence of the specific heats of solids. In 1909 Einstein introduced the wave-particle duality into physics.
In October 1911 Planck and Einstein were among the group of prominent physicists who attended the first Solvay conference in Brussels. The discussions there stimulated Henri Poincaré to provide a mathematical proof that Planck’s radiation law necessarily required the introduction of quanta—a proof that converted James Jeans and others into supporters of the quantum theory. In 1913 Niels Bohr also contributed greatly to its establishment through his quantum theory of the hydrogen atom. Ironically, Planck himself was one of the last to struggle for a return to classical theory, a stance he later regarded not with regret but as a means by which he had thoroughly convinced himself of the necessity of the quantum theory. Opposition to Einstein’s radical light quantum hypothesis of 1905 persisted until after the discovery of the Compton effect in 1922.
Maybe Bandula W. Dahanayake is a good engineer, but he sure is ignorant about 20th century quantum physics. Time for Bandula to shut up about this topic or start studying quantum physics!

Kindly explain the AI in research paper writing and so on.
Relevant answer
Answer
Hello sir, AI can be a great assistant for researchers. It helps with tasks like summarizing literature, generating citations, spotting trends in data, and even refining language. Tools like GPT-based models can draft sections of a paper or suggest edits, saving time and effort. But relying too much on AI can dilute originality. If we let AI write entire sections without oversight, the depth of critical thinking and authenticity could take a hit. Plus, ethical concerns arise, like plagiarism or misrepresentation of data, if the AI isn’t used responsibly.
In short, AI should complement human effort, not replace it. It’s a tool to boost productivity and enhance quality, but the soul of research—curiosity, analysis, and innovation—will always need the human touch.

Presenting themes effectively includes:
  • Writing a brief description of each theme.
  • Using direct quotes from stakeholders to support the themes (e.g., a principal might say, "We lack proper training in integrating health into our curriculum.").
  • Creating tables or diagrams to visually represent the relationships between themes.
  • Relating the themes back to your research questions and objectives. For example, if "Teacher Training Needs" is a theme, describe its significance and provide quotes or examples.

Answer
For you to present your themes in a clear and engaging way you need to first understand your theme; ensure that you are aware of the major issues you want to communicate to readers. Note, a theme is a subject or key message by which your content is based on. In presenting your theme you need to consider choosing relevant examples or instances that readers will not have difficulty in understanding it; the examples can be based on individual experiences, events, trends,
storytelling etc. you can also support your themes with visuals such as images and charts in your presentation to make it more enjoyable and heightened the understanding of your readers. You need to make sure your themes are presented in a comprehensive, although brief and to the point.

“Artificial Intelligence is very good” is an example of a writing style which is poor yet common among other styles of human writing which considerably vary in fluency, narrative skills, and abstraction capabilities, etc. This variation indicates human individuality, an integral component of human intelligence, that could not be imitated by LLMs. What are other examples differentiating human language skills from those of AI?
Relevant answer
Answer
Humans learn language naturally through social interaction, feedback, and immersive experiences. They adapt their language use over time based on a variety of social and contextual factors. AI learns from pre-existing datasets and requires retraining with new data to improve or adapt its language skills. It lacks the innate ability to learn and adapt in real-time through social interaction.

If you're trying to contact a researcher on ResearchGate about their work on an Explicit Runge-Kutta Method, start by visiting their profile on the site. If they have opted to share their contact details, you might find their email address listed under the "Contact" section, but this is usually visible only to mutual followers. If you aren't connected, consider sending them a follow request or use ResearchGate's private messaging system to get in touch directly, which doesn't require sharing email addresses. Answer
The two previous commenters wrote very clearly what you need to do from an academic perspective. So let's now approach the matter from an alternative perspective. It is very important that the product you choose is unique and that you have a strong curiosity about how this product will affect the target audience. In this case, it is worth doing a questionnaire and evaluate it. For example, you make a movie on social media Example I want to sell my earthquakes forecasting model of my knowledge how the gold nugget forms that is why I have created the next YouTube Channel: Geo-Intuition:
Because what's the point?
We have a product and we want to profit from it.
And we already have an important question
How can we make a profit, what do we need to do to achieve a profit?
If you look at the videos, they've been uploaded gradually for nine months. their quality is quite poor (the reason is I don't have the time to care enough about it, I don't have the money for it, I don't have the talent to present it) There is only one outstanding idea, with the help of which I created a brand: Geo-intuition...
and so on... You have to do it, you learn from mistakes, and from correcting them in the same way. And you can see that you will have something to write about. Just try to be original!

How to write a literature review.
Relevant answer
Answer
To produce a literature review, begin by defining a specific research question or topic to guide your analysis. Collect and analyse relevant academic materials, such as peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and conference papers, with an emphasis on major theories, methodology, findings, and gaps in the field. Organise your review topically or chronologically, stressing the relationships among studies, trends, and arguments. Critically evaluate the sources' strengths and limitations, synthesising their contributions rather than simply summarising them. Finally, identify gaps in the literature, suggest areas for further investigation, and discuss the consequences of present understanding. Ensure that the review is well-structured, brief, and provides a balanced viewpoint.

Hello all! My name is John Mancini, and I am and up and coming journalist based out of St. Petersburg Florida. I am writing an article about how innovations in gambling are having a negative impact on our community's mental health. I need an answer to my question from professional researchers. Thank you so much!
Relevant answer
Answer
The relevance of this question largely depends on whom it is addressed to, as the perspective of the respondent may outweigh the question itself. If posed to researchers supporting the "gateway hypothesis"—the idea that gambling-like elements in video games predispose individuals to engage in gambling—they will likely cite numerous associations to substantiate their viewpoint.
Conversely, researchers aligned with the "moral panic hypothesis" may argue that these associations are too weak to be taken seriously. They might highlight the presence of publication bias favoring significant findings over null results, note that gambling-like elements also exist in non-problematic activities, and emphasize that even among gamblers, only a minority develop pathological behaviors.
Thus, is there a possibility that microtransactions could lead to gambling issues? Certainly, as it is impossible to categorically deny the occurrence of such cases. However, will they consistently lead to gambling problems? This seems unlikely. The effect appears minimal, especially when compared to other, more decisive factors, such as social support, exposure to violence, and predisposition to mental health disorders.

What are the components that should best describe the organization of a study related to a medical survey proposal?
Relevant answer
Answer
Organization of the study
The study is divided into five (5) chapters.
  • Chapter one of the study consists of the general introduction, which includes the background of the study, the statement of the problem, the objectives of the study, the research questions, the significance of the study, the scope of the study, the limitations of the study, and the organization of the study.
  • Chapter two is the literature review, which evaluates the works of other researchers on the subject, their approaches, and the researcher’s criticisms of their findings. This chapter also identifies gaps in the existing literature and establishes the theoretical and conceptual frameworks used to guide the research.
  • Chapter three discusses the methodology employed in the study, including the research design, population and sample size, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and the tools used for data analysis. This chapter ensures the transparency and reproducibility of the research process.
  • Chapter four presents the results of the study and provides a detailed analysis and interpretation of the findings in relation to the research objectives and questions. This chapter connects the findings to the theoretical and conceptual frameworks outlined in chapter two.
  • Finally, chapter five concludes the study by summarizing the key findings, discussing their implications, and providing recommendations for practice, policy, and future research. This chapter also includes a reflective discussion on the limitations of the study and their potential impact on the results.
This is the best way to develop the organization of the study which is related to the survey research.

I want to write a psychological package about decision on marital reconciliation.
Relevant answer
Answer
Maryam Karimi Absolutely, I'd be happy to help you organize the second chapter of your doctoral dissertation, which is focused on "Development and Validation of the Sustainable Marital Reconciliation Model and Its Effectiveness on the Decision for Marital Reconciliation."
For a dissertation like yours, the second chapter generally serves as the literature review. In this chapter, you will summarize and critically evaluate existing research related to your topic. You will want to establish the theoretical framework, the context for your research, and the gaps that your study aims to fill. The structure should be logical and clearly show the progression of your thinking as you move toward presenting your model.
Here’s an outline with suggested headings for your second chapter:
Chapter 2: Literature Review
1. Introduction
Briefly introduce the purpose of the chapter.
Define key concepts (e.g., marital reconciliation, sustainable reconciliation, marital decision-making).
Provide an overview of the structure of the chapter.
2. Conceptual Framework of Marital Reconciliation
Overview of marital reconciliation: What does it mean? How is it typically understood in the literature?
Historical and cultural perspectives on marital reconciliation.
Common theories/models related to marital reconciliation, e.g., forgiveness, communication, conflict resolution.
3. Factors Affecting Marital Reconciliation
Psychological factors: attachment styles, individual emotional needs, trust, empathy.
Social factors: family dynamics, social support, cultural or religious expectations, social norms.
Behavioral factors: communication patterns, conflict resolution strategies, shared values.
External factors: financial stress, external relationships, life transitions (children, aging, etc.).
4. Theories and Models of Marital Reconciliation
Conflict theory in marriage and reconciliation.
Attachment theory and its application to reconciliation.
Forgiveness models: the role of forgiveness in reconciliation.
Decision-making models: how couples make decisions to reconcile (cost-benefit analysis, risk perception, etc.).
Sustainability of reconciliation: How long-lasting or "sustainable" is marital reconciliation? Are there models that show long-term outcomes?
5. The Role of Counseling and Intervention in Marital Reconciliation
Review the literature on marital counseling, therapy, and interventions aimed at facilitating reconciliation.
What strategies or therapeutic models (e.g., emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy) have been most effective?
The impact of online interventions or modern technology in facilitating reconciliation.
6. Validation of Reconciliation Models
Overview of validation processes used in the development of marital models.
Discuss the challenges in validating relationship models and interventions.
Previous attempts at model validation in marital reconciliation (i.e., validation studies, reliability studies).
7. Effectiveness of Marital Reconciliation
What studies have measured the effectiveness of marital reconciliation models or interventions?
Success rates, challenges, and outcomes of marital reconciliation.
Long-term effects: Does marital reconciliation lead to a durable, lasting relationship, or are there patterns of relapse?
8. Gaps in the Literature and the Need for the Sustainable Marital Reconciliation Model
Identify the gaps in the existing literature (e.g., lack of models focused on long-term sustainability, need for more empirical data, etc.).
Discuss how these gaps inform the need for your model and research.
Why is it important to consider both the process and outcomes of marital reconciliation in a sustainable way?
9. Conclusion
Summarize the key points covered in the chapter.
Discuss how the literature review has informed your research questions and the development of your model.
Transition to the next chapter, where you will describe your methodology and research approach.
Researching for Your Literature Review:
To find useful information for the above sections, I would suggest the following steps:
1. Use Academic Databases:
Google Scholar, JSTOR, PsycINFO, and PubMed are excellent places to start. Search terms like “marital reconciliation,” “sustainable marriage,” “decision-making in marriage,” “marital counseling,” “forgiveness in relationships,” and “relationship sustainability” will yield a variety of sources.
2. Review Key Journals:
Look for articles in journals like Journal of Marriage and Family, Family Relations, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and Psychological Science.
3. Theoretical Texts:
Use classic and contemporary texts on marital theory, such as works by John Gottman, Susan Johnson, Harville Hendrix, and Janet S. H. Dyregrov. These are often cited when discussing marital dynamics and reconciliation.
4. Systematic Reviews:
Look for systematic reviews or meta-analyses on marital therapy, reconciliation models, and decision-making in relationships. These papers summarize and critically evaluate a wide range of studies and can save you time by providing comprehensive overviews.
5. Research Databases for Methodology:
You will also need to look at how others have approached validation and measurement. Key texts on scale development and model validation (like AERA Guidelines, Salkind’s books on research methods, and Creswell’s research designs) can be useful.
6. Dissertations and Thesis:
Checking other dissertations can give you ideas on structuring and on literature to include in your review. Websites like ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global are great for this.
Hopefully by following this structure, you'll be able to create a well-organized and comprehensive second chapter that builds a strong foundation for your own model! Good Luck!

I would like to write my graduate paper on the mental health aspects and/or statistics associated of a sexless marriage with acquired disability
Relevant answer
Answer
People with physical disabilities especially the acquired disabilities are at a higher risk of facing mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. This may be due to isolation and discrimination especially from the family members and close relatives and friends.
Disabilities especially chronic ones may also affect sexual urge, performance and relationships leading to low arousals. According to research in the journal Sexual Medicine Reviews, almost 60% of individuals with a disability report a decline in their sexual activity and satisfaction post-injury or illness, with partnered individuals often facing similar challenges.
Sexless marriages are also associated with acquired disabilities. sexless marriage is a situation whereby couples can have fewer than 10 times per year resulting to serious psychological problems. A 2014 study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that 16% of married couples report having sex less than 10 times a year, and those in sexless marriages often have lower relationship satisfaction and increased symptoms of depression.

Hi, I had a similar issue today. First, run pw2wan.x as
pw2wannier90.x < X.in > X.out.
It will at least print a little different error in the output file.
Second, the seedname = 'X' must match the name of the file X.nnkp.
With this, I was able to resolve the issue. Maybe it will help someone someday

A lot. Being really social was replaced by being "virtually social". Social media has made people more 'gregarious' than "social". Ethologists will tell you the difference between these two adjectives.

Hi Alwielland, I hope youre well.
Here are some links which you might find a good place to start. I would recommend looking at other scoping reviews and replicate their methods - you are welcome to view mine on my profile as an example. Most follow a similar protocol.

As a neophyte to the field of studies about Arab history, culture, and literature, I am rather surprised at the paucity, or lack, of imaginative literary works in French, English, and World Literature featuring Arabs. Since the present Research Gate discussion thread was begun in 2017, perhaps you have abandoned writing the article, decided to take a different approach to a similar topic, or revealed your findings at a conference.
Since your topic specifically mentions Albert Camus, you may be interested in adding to the technical or discussion threads that I just now contributed to the Research Gate network platform today. Although you and I are in adjacent fields in literature studies, we are virtually in the same discipline here at Research Gate! I have a generalist's interest in narratology. While I was not familiar with your work in Proust studies and narrative theory, it looks quite interesting and very good.
After I was recommended by my university president to become a member of Research Gate, my productivity skyrocketed (see below) because I began incorporating my research at the University of Oklahoma's History of Science Collection.
With my best wishes,
