I want to do work related to dynamic discovery of RESTful web services as like SOAP based services with the help of WADL /WSDL 2.0 documents as they support for describing RESTful web services . I also want to know how we currently discover RESTful web service ?(without description document as WADL is not compulsory )? If there is no WSDL like file describing RESTful web service how to discover them ? Is there currently a good way to publish and discover as similar to SOAP services ?
HI Aniruddh, there is no standard way to publish and discover REST services such as in SOAP.  Many attempts --among them also WADL-- were made in order to resolve this issue, but none of them have been accepted by the REST community yet. Thanks to the benefits and the importance of REST services, this is still an active research and development topic.  You can take a look at the RAML project which is ,in my opinion, an interesting approach to describe your REST-ful HTTP APIs. Consider that the discovery of REST services, because of the hypermedia nature, follows a decentralized way which...more

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the set of systems that enable sensors and actuators to be connected to the Internet. It is estimated that there are already more IoT devices than humans, and that by 2020 there will be 50 billion connected devices. A re- view of related literature outlines concerns regarding security and privacy of the IoT, demonstrating that IoT devices are creating the opportunity to infringe on security and privacy in numerous ways. One significant challenge is to manage the identity of IoT devices in an effective way. Many IoT systems are built using middleware sys-...

Goal: Currentely i am working in QOS parameter. I publish one paper in APSEC 2015. The objective of this work is to classify web service based on QOS parameter. During seminar, many people ask me question regarding the improvement of QOS parameter i.e., how service provider improve the QOS parameter. Now i plan to extend this work to measure static source code metrics and develop a model based on these metrics. Currently i am considering six WSDL metrics, six WSDL interface complexity and eighteen different object oriented metrics. Based on these metrics, we build a model to predict QOS.

There exist two major modeling paradigms for business process modeling: The predominant activity centric one and the artifact centric paradigm. Both are suitable for modeling and for executing business processes. However, process models are typically designed from different perspectives. Current translation methods operate on the syntactic level, preserving the point of view of the source process. The results of such translations are not particularly useful, understandable and insightful for stakeholders. In this paper we motivate the need for ontology-guided translations by comparing the...

Goal: Animal health data are collected for different primary purposes by different institutions, e.g. clinical data are stored by veterinarians to have history on their patients; laboratory data are recorded mainly to allow proper billing. These data are then used for surveillance secondarily - we build automated systems that try to make sense of these data to detect patterns of diseases in real-time. Project Goal: To develop an ontology of animal health data which can promote the secondary use of these data for surveillance (data-driven surveillance, or syndromic surveillance). Project...

Composition of Web services has received much interest to support business-to-business or enterprise application integration. On the one side, the business world has developed a number of XML-based standards to formalize the specification of Web services, their flow composition and execution. This approach is primarily syntactical: Web service interfaces are like remote procedure call and the interaction protocols are manually written. On the other side, the Semantic Web community focuses on reasoning about web resources by explicitly declaring their preconditions and e#ects with terms...

Web services are meaningful only if potential users may find and execute them. Universal Description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) help businesses, organizations, and other Web Services providers to discover and reach to the service(s) by providing the URI of the WSDL file. However, it does not offer a mechanism to choose a Web service based on its quality. The standard also lacks of sufficient semantic description in the content of Web services, this lack makes it difficult to find and compose suitable Web services during analysis, search, and matching processes. In the last years, Web Services have become the technological choice to materialize the Service-Oriented Computing paradigm. However, a broad use of Web Services requires efficient approaches to allow service consumption from within applications. Currently, developers are compelled to search for suitable services mainly by manually exploring Web catalogs, which usually show poorly relevant information, than to provide the adequate "glue-code" for their assembly. This implies a large effort into discovering, selecting and adapting services. To overcome these challenges, this paper presents...

The blind encounter great difficulties in independent movement in an open environment. There are various systems that support their orientation usually based on devices such as suitably adapted GPS, cameras, RFIDs and their respective software. But there are no computer-assisted systems that would help with teaching blind children to move without exposing them to danger. It seems that a good idea for constructing such an assistant system would be to replace a physical reality with the help of suitable computer software in which the semantic technologies are used.

Dynamic composition remains one of the key aims of Web services technology. While they are designed to be aggregated and work together, Web services can be simultaneously implemented independently and use different standards or models. Therefore, their dynamic composition process is complex and time-consuming. Checking the possibility of connecting services (composability) enhances significantly this process’s efficiency and accuracy. In most works relating to Web services composition, the composability of two services or service operations is often limited to the process of semantic...

We introduce Web Service Slicing, a technique that captures a functional subset of a large-scale web service using an interface slice captured as a WSDL slice (a subset of a service's WSDL). An interface (WSDL) slice provides access to an interoperable slice, which is a functional subset of the service's code. The technique uses intra-operational and inter-operational analysis to identify web service changes. With the aid of an associative code-test mapping, we leverage the identification of affected operations to reduce the cost of web-service regression testing by extracting a subset of...

However, depending on the topology of the ground and the crop species that exists, considerable improvements can be achieved that can greatly impact on the overall crop yield. Too little watering or too much watering in the wrong areas can impact the overall output. With the rapid growth in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones, image capture technology is now readily available. If the...

SOAP is a lightweight protocol for exchange of information in a decentralized, distributed environment. It is an XML based protocol that consists of three parts: an envelope that defines a framework for describing what is in a message and how to process it, a set of encoding rules for expressing instances of application-defined datatypes, and a convention for representing remote procedure calls and responses. SOAP can potentially be used in combination with a variety of other protocols; however, the only bindings defined in this document describe how to use SOAP in combination with HTTP...

Web services are based on certain standards and protocols such as SOAP, XML and WSDL. They are great when it comes to developing standards based services that are accessed on the internet. However, at times your needs are different. For example, you may want to develop services for an intranet application and want to use binary format over TCP for performance reasons. Or you want to use some highly secure communication mechanism that uses some custom encryption strategies. Web services may not serve your purpose in such cases.
