Puton has long stated he is in a war against the West, originally expressed in Cyber Warfare, which China conditionally supports: Modi of India, an apprentice tyrant, has long expressed prejudice against and defiance of the West, for the cessation of its hegemony, and at times, as recently, demonstrated his support of Putin.
African soldiers from countries often prejudiced against the West are now fighting in Ukraine, which they portray as an outlier of NATO following Putin's dire, mythical claims. Finally, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and North Korea.
Shouldn't we help Ukraine more?

But India also maintains good relations with the West. The relationship between the United States and India is one of the most strategic and important relations of the 21st century. The Central Court (sic) has paved Trump's path to the Presidency and the USA no doubt will, or ok, might, retread the path to lunacy, Orban will be temporarily head of Europe, Macron is under threat, so a number of new leaders will not necessarily be sympathetic to Ukraine and not really understand the consequences of backing off, apart from the likely death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians.
I watched a rerun of Russia's first attacks on Ukraine and it was simply an attack on the civilian population, destroying tower blocks and civic buildings. If the US and Europe had given the weapons it needed, Ukraine, I suspect would have settled the matter early on.

But he was Putin's mentor too, so was he responsible for both Vietnam, or its extension, Pol Pot, and Ukraine?
Relevant answer
Answer
Doug,
I did not say he did but certainly he was important in continuing it. His belief that American security was threatened by America not staying in the field, that the USAºs prestige was effected and thereby it was necessary to extend the war into North Vietnam with carpet bombing was to an extent down to his belief in the amorphous, indeed magical, nature of political/military efforts. in his massive book Diplomacy, page 773, he writes of humanitarianism as an ideological tool only, effectively weaponising it rather than seeing it as a component of peace and towards peace. He saw politics as a continuous conflict.
This I suggest is how Putin sees it, whereby all is a configuration towards conflict without end. Winning, getting on top is the important matter.
Accepting peace with Vietnam would have been accepting their rights and his perception, especially where Vietnam was concerned, of eternal oneupmanship was not only deadly but wrong. For him morality did not exist. Really, is this not Putin's position?

What in your opinion is going to be how the war is going to end? Would the Russians withdraw her troops and allow Ukraine to remain a Defacto member of NATO and the EU ?
Relevant answer
Answer
If the question is posed as follows: "Do you support the war?", it will be 40-50%, and if the question is asked: "Do you support the war in Ukraine?", it will be 20%, because people are afraid of some kind of punishment (e.g., condemnation by society): "Are you against the war in Ukraine?", there will be 20%, because people are afraid of some kind of punishment (e.g., condemnation by society), which may not be!
In short, Descartes' "table" of four fields, I wrote about it in my topic (NLP). People ask themselves questions (I'm deliberately thinking primitively):
"What would happen if you supported this?" - it will be good for society (80%)!
What won't happen if you support this? - There will be no punishment or judgement (20%).
What will happen if you don't support it? - 80% of people may judge or even punish you.
What won't happen if you don't support?
And this is where the brains go out of your head. Logic doesn't work well here.
It's like saying that if you don't have a dog, your neighbour won't poison it. No one will answer this question, and some will say, "Nothing will happen...?
And the most erudite will say in the words of Josef Schweik: "What will happen is what will happen, because it will happen anyway, nothing will happen if it doesn't happen".
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WILL HAPPEN, BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN SOMEHOW, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN ANY WAY!

This RG open question is linked to the previous about the dramatic evolution (partly unexplainable) of COVID19 in Northern Italy during wave 1.
The previous RG open question is reported below🔴 and resulted in a completely alternative model for the evolution🟨 of SARS-CoV/2 from pre-pandemic phase to pandemic phase.
In this specific RG question, the intention is to create an open discussion on the possible emergence of a violent outbreak of avian flu or similar in central Europe.
This concern arises from a qualitative model that links three events which in the past have always characterized the violent explosion of a bird flu or similar.
---Coronavirus Epidemic/Pandemic;
---Conflict/War partly out of control;
---Pandemic avian flu or similar.
The ABSTRACT of the model can be consulted directly here.. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/46_fig2_367046404
This RG open question will serve to accumulate data both for and against this dire possibility.

Alarming antibody evasion properties of rising SARS-CoV-2 BQ and XBB subvariants. December 2022. Cell 186(2).
DOI:10.1016/j.cell.2022.12.018.
PMID:36580913.
PMCID:PMC9747694.
RG:366251425.
Abstract.--- The BQ and XBB subvariants of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron are now rapidly expanding, possibly due to altered antibody evasion properties deriving from their additional spike mutations. Here, we report that neutralization of BQ.1, BQ.1.1, XBB, and XBB.1 by sera from vaccinees and infected persons was markedly impaired, including sera from individuals boosted with a WA1/BA.5 bivalent mRNA vaccine. Titers against BQ and XBB subvariants were lower by 13-81-fold and 66-155-fold, respectively, far beyond what had been observed to date. Monoclonal antibodies capable of neutralizing the original Omicron variant were largely inactive against these new subvariants, and the responsible individual spike mutations were identified. These subvariants were found to have similar ACE2-binding affinities as their predecessors. Together, our findings indicate that BQ and XBB subvariants present serious threats to current COVID-19 vaccines, render inactive all authorized antibodies, and may have gained dominance in the population because of their advantage in evading antibodies.

I remember my childhood. From the age of eight to 15, I spent it in Kiev on the banks of the Dnieper and in Irpen (it's close by, almost Kiev, 30 minutes by train). And then until the age of 30 I was there every year. First I will tell you about Alesander Blok. He accepted the revolution of 1917. Of course, he did not immediately realise that it was a tragedy for Russia. And so he was sitting on Palace Square in St Petersburg, and a poet he knew asked: "How are you?", and Blok replies: "My estate burned down, my library burned down...". And what do Irpen and Kiev have to do with it? And in Irpen - the street of my childhood - Khmelnitskogo (there the house 21) in 2022 the whole street burned .......

How accurate is the political persuasion horseshoe argument in terms of individual rights? My answer: Both generally the far-right and generally the far-left show less concern for individual rights than modern liberals do(hence both their support or ignoring of Russia invading Ukraine. Also their combined disapproval of NATO). In order to have individual rights in practice, an economic basis must be awarded to each individual in terms prescribed by reciprocity and fairness. Thus, given Wagner's Law of growing economic externalities due to industrialization(part of the creation of the modern world due to human networking), modern liberalism is the most effective political system in maintaining individual rights.
Relevant answer
There are no absolute individual rights. There are always limits to exercising rights, even in liberal countries, because your freedom ends when the freedom of others begins, and therefore absolute rights are fatal to all ideologies.

Question

What is politics?
Politics is balancing the interests of social groups and layers.
The groups are the distribution of the population by territories, states, ethnics, types of activity, genders.
The layers is the distribution of the population according to the levels of consumption.
The limitation of Marxism was that only inter-layer contradictions were recognized.
The limitations of fascism lay in the fact that calling for a class peace, group conflicts, namely, territorial, state and ethnic contradictions, were put forward in the first place.
In the early stages of the historical process, there were constant wars between the first tribal associations for land, slaves and robberies, i.e. overcoming intergroup contradictions.
This led to the absorption of most of the tribes by the most powerful of them. Thus, the empires of Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Mohammed, and others were formed.
Thus, the reason for the emergence of empires is to protect their territory and further expansion. This reason continues to this day. To extinguish, in the empire, internal territorial and ethnic contradictions, internal territorial self-government is allowed - dominions.
There are currently two empires and a third is being born.
The first of these is the United States, which includes such dominions as Canada, Great Britain, the European Union and the rest of Europe, Japan, Australia and other small states around the world, as well as colonies such as Ukraine, directly controlled from Washington.
The second is the Russian Federation, which is on the defensive.
Even her former dominions seek to defect to the side of a wealthier enemy.
The third emerging world empire is China.
The logic of the development of these empires remains the same - protection and expansion.
Let's see who will take?

While preparing for my contribution to the Nanotexnology 2023 conference, I have noticed that submissions from researchers affiliated with state universities of the Russian Federation have been accepted for the international conference. This fact implies the sharing of the latest scientific knowledge despite the ongoing war started in 2022. I strongly disagree with this approach, and I personally distance myself from active scientific communication with researchers officially connected to state institutions of Russia. With its criminal activities in Ukraine, Russia is violating fundamental principles of the international community, and also destroying nature with a potentially global impact. Scientific communication that ignores this fact supports the technological progress of the state that destroys human values in general. Out of respect for the many Ukrainian scientists who have fallen victim to this war, I firmly reject the active transfer of scientific knowledge to scientists affiliated to Russian state institutions as a matter of principle.

This is meant to elicit some reflections on Putin's practices, directed mainly towards a domestic audience. My claim is that it not only directs his actual programme, the protection of Putin and his group, an aim fundamental to his regime, but also establishes the longevity of his planned invasion of Ukraine. By tracing changes in Putin's claims, the genesis of his invasion can be established. The false narratives can also be traced to changes in the group around Putin. Putin's first PM was, or appears not to have been, the type to accept such false narratives. The criminal nature of many of his later cabal, such as Prigozhin, have tended to degrade its political nature.
1) What Russia does is immediately situated on the actions of others. The Donbas was originally a Russian invasion and the shelling of civilian areas done by Russia (witness Chechnya, Georgia, Syria).
2) The criminal nature of Putin's cabal was fixed onto their victims, Chechnya, and Ukraine.
3) Russia has never attacked any other state.
4) The rewriting of history from ancient times to Stalin's reign.
While there are many more, if readers choose to deny than reasons must be given.

Hi Stanley,
What about this point in isolation?
In the 60's USA moved missiles into Turkey effectively on USSR's doorstep. What followed was the Cuban MIssile Crisis as Kruschev maneuvered to do the same.
Ukraine has clearly become a place with increased and heavy USA involvement including established military-oriented activities, and most would say a state awash in corruption (and now money) and of questionable stability and predictability even without the current action, again on Russia's doorstep. Meanwhile the Western military alliance, much more fearsome in power than Russia's except for nukes, swells ever Eastward. Finally, USSR was defeated once recently already, very fortunately without hot war.
You are the leader of Russia. You are constrained by a limited economy. What do you do?
A second question. Libya agreed to give up its nukes and we saw what happened to them. Ukraine gave up its nukes. In general should a country give up its nukes?
Cheers,
K.

After Ukraine announced the beginning of the spring counter-offensive, and Moscow announced an attack on the Kremlin targeting the assassination of President Putin, is this an indication that we are on the verge of a greater escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian war?
Relevant answer
Answer
It is highly unlikely that the Ukrainian spring offensive, or any other attempt to assassinate Putin with drones, would further escalate the situation in the current war. The Ukrainian military has not been successful in its offensives against Russian-backed separatist forces, and any attempt to assassinate Putin would likely be met with a strong response from Russia, which could potentially lead to a further escalation of the conflict. It is much more likely that the conflict will continue to be fought through political and diplomatic means, rather than through military action.

The question of transliteration (transcription) from Ukrainian Cyrillic to Latin in scientific texts is something that each Ukrainian researcher faced in his life. However, I could not find a perfect solution, so I am asking for your opinion.
Previously, for the transliterations of Ukrainian texts, I used transliteration rules from 27.01.2010 (http://ukrlit.org/transliteratsiia), which are known in Ukraine but not always understandable for foreigners. E.g. my previous surname was also transliterated using this standard (Дарія Ширяєва -> Dariia Shyriaieva, and to be honest, I do not know any foreigner who can read my name correctly using this official transliteration, especially the four vowels in the line "iaie"...)
So, it was not an ideal option, but I was used to it, and it is an accepted transliteration. That's why I defended this transliteration in my discussions with others.
However, I see that many people follow the ISO 9 standard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9) as an international standard, which also seems not ideal to me (at least the last version). Also, recently I found the mention of a new transliteration standard (quite a strange one!): "DSTU 9112:2021. Cyrillic-Latin transliteration and Latin-Cyrillic retransliteration of Ukrainian texts. Writing rules" (https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%94%D0%A1%D0%A2%D0%A3_9112:2021).
Could you please explain how you transliterate Ukrainian texts, which standard you use and why?
Thank you very much!
Dariia

The same. As far as I understand, 2010 style is still used in official documents. Plus, despite the shortcomings, this is the simplest option, for which the standard Latin alphabet layout is enough.

A few days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the updated version of the Russian strategy, which coincides with the intensification of the war with Ukraine and hostility with the West, especially the United States of America, and the strengthening of relations with China. What, in your opinion, are the implications of this new strategy regionally and globally?
Relevant answer
Answer
The Russo-Ukraine war is nothing but a manifestation of Cold War 2.0. A slugfest and waging of strategic competition that aims to weaponise all elements of national power. The US strategy was to entice Russia and engage it in a Ukrainian marshland for a prolonged conflict; the Russian strategy has been to hit at the root of capitalism. The unipolar world is gravitating to a bipolar contest with Russia and China realigning their interests. The contest for IPR by China over new technology will see more technology-related sanctions by the West. Technology is the new tool for wealth development and aggregation. Cornered China and Russia will team up to fight Western dominance. While the West would like to avoid direct confrontations, the Russians and Chinese would seek the same by enabling better situational awareness and enabling deterrence disappearance. Cold War 2.0 will be used to trigger another arms race, and the world will brace with strategic instability due to engineered endless conflicts.

What are the key challenges and opportunities for fostering sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation in Ukraine, and how can they be effectively addressed to promote sustainable economic growth?
Relevant answer
Answer
One of the key challenges for fostering sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation in Ukraine is the lack of a supportive business environment, which is characterized by corruption, bureaucratic barriers, and a weak legal system. This discourages entrepreneurs and innovators from investing in the country, limiting the potential for sustainable economic growth.
Another challenge is the lack of access to finance, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This makes it difficult for entrepreneurs to access the capital they need to start or grow their businesses, hindering their ability to innovate and create new products and services.
However, there are also opportunities for promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation in Ukraine. For example, the country has a highly educated population with strong technical skills, which can provide a foundation for innovative industries. Ukraine also has a strategic location that can serve as a gateway between Europe and Asia, providing opportunities for cross-border trade and investment.
To effectively address these challenges and opportunities, Ukraine needs to focus on creating a supportive business environment that encourages entrepreneurship and innovation. This can be achieved through reforms that promote transparency and accountability, streamline regulations, and strengthen the legal system.
The government can also support entrepreneurship and innovation by improving access to finance for SMEs, promoting research and development, and investing in infrastructure and education. In addition, partnerships between the public and private sectors can help to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, creating new opportunities for sustainable economic growth in Ukraine.

Arms exports to Ukraine have been controversial, supporters argue that Ukraine has the right to defend itself against Russian aggression. However, opponents argue that the arms exports could escalate the conflict and lead to further bloodshed. What is the role of western arms exporting countries in Russia-Ukraine war?
Relevant answer
Answer
Western countries' weapon export to Ukraine play a very important role in providing sustainability for the Ukrainian army. However a volume of delivered weapons not enough and western support to Ukraine must be increased significantly. Russia has very good experience of living in the conditions of avtarkie economy (self suffiecienthy) . So Russian economy will stay stable during next 2 years and it will them allow to provide more recourses for war in Ukraine.

Hi everyone!
I'm going to use the process tracing method to explain the mechanisms of defense provision in Ukraine from 1991 to 2013. The independent variables are Winning coalition size and State capacity.
Could do you recoomend the literature which help to understand how to develop expected evidence satisfying the conditions of Steven van Ever's system of tests?
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi. I've used Van Evera's fairly short book, Guide to Methods for Students of Political Science, for both my research and for teaching research seminars.
It is quite useful for qualitative research methods. He very much supports theory-informed research, with clear statements of independent and dependent variables and, when appropriate, also intervening variables. He defines these terms in his long first chapter, "Hypotheses, Laws, and Theories: A User's Guide."
An early choice is to decide if you plan to use a theory to explain a particular event, such as the onset of WWI (which he did in a 1984 article in International Security, or you plan to test a theory that is preexisting or that you develop. Since you mention his research method of process tracing, it sounds like you plan to test your theory.
Since you have a single case study, you could actually use two good research methods. One is congruence procedure (type 2), which works if the values of your independent variable(s) vary over time and/or space within the case study. See his second chapter, "What Are Case Studies? How Should They Be Performed?" 51-52, and 58-63 (especially 61-63). Another is, of course, process tracing (64-67), and there are two types. One is when there are multiple steps in a causal chain, and some really do come before others. The other is decision process tracing, which requires reliable testimonial evidence. More than other research methods, process tracing gets at causation and not just correlation. Which you pick, of course, depends on what data are available and what sort of causation is involved.
As you develop a research design, also keep in mind the value of keeping track of possible alternative explanations for whatever you observe in the case. If your theory does a better job than them, then your theory wins. If not, you may have two competing explanations that are both possible -- setting the stage for another research design where they complete with each other. It may be that neither is "right" or "wrong," but that each has strong explanatory capabilities under some conditions -- and you could seek to learn what those conditions are.
Even though his book is somewhat old (1997), it is still quite useful and is not very expensive.
Good luck!

I am starting the research "Peculiarities of territorial community management in wartime conditions"
The aim of the research
Conduct a thorough study of the principles of community functioning in wartime conditions. To develop methodological recommendations for the management of the territorial community in wartime conditions, to substantiate the strengthening of the vertical of power and the transition to a centralized system of community management in wartime conditions. Threats and possibilities of the increased influence and power of the chairman on community activities. Development of interaction of the vertical of community power with state authorities, military administrations, deputies, public organizations and the populations.
Relevant answer
Answer
This management is largely determined by the law in force - the law of the state of war. In the conducted research, I would start with an analysis of the legal status, then I would examine a specific local community (case study), material resources at the disposal of the community, and finally formulate general conclusions in accordance with the SWOT analysis.

Hi all,
Looking for any reliable statistics on how sports participation looked like in Ukraine prior to the war. I can't seem to find any reasonable numbers on this, at least not in English. Appreciate any help I can get.

Tony
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Tony, such information is not available in a summarized form, it is available in very different documents and in the Ukrainian language. I will give only some generalized data as an example.
For example, in the passport of the budget program for 2021, it is confirmed that the number of athletes of national teams in Olympic and non-Olympic sports is 6,911.
There are data for 2018 on winter Olympic sports - 11,625 athletes are studying in 136 branches of children's and youth sports schools, 571 coaches are working, 282 athletes are practicing in 18 branches of schools of higher skill, 331 students are studying in 8 branches of Olympic reserve schools. Under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, a national team of winter Olympic sports has been formed in the number of 479 athletes (main team, candidates, reserves).
The reconstruction project of Ukraine for 2022 (statistical data for June 2022) states that only 35% of athletes continue their training at the workplace of children's and youth and reserve sports institutions (162,000 people), almost 44,000 more - outside the institutions, 28,000 athletes train abroad. More than 120,000 athletes have lost the opportunity to practice their chosen sport and have no opportunity to train.
There are separate statistics on sports for persons with disabilities. About 52,000 disabled people was covered by various forms of physical education and rehabilitation and sports work in Ukraine: with vision, musculoskeletal, hearing, cerebral palsy, mental and physical disabilities.

So when Ukraine was invaded by Putin, Voladamir Zelinsky was given an opportunity to leave Kyiv. He responded “The fight is here. I need ammunition, not a ride.” Satire, Irony, Parody, and Wit have been used to demonstrate Putin’s failures, and Zelensky’s success during Putin’s war in Ukraine. These rhetorical devices are designed to ridicule Putin and Putin’s senseless war, and to show the resilience and wit of the Ukrainian people in a tragic situation. United Nations reports seem to indicate that we are not going to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for three reasons: - climate change, - War in Ukraine - Covid
What do you think?
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Fernando Gutiérrez-Fernández,
UN reports are based on long-term projections. In my opinion, not everything is a foregone conclusion yet. Recent economic, financial, energy crises (2008, 2020, 2022) have pointed to problems that will intensify in the future. These crises pointed to economic and other problems that will grow in importance in the future and were an opportunity for a paradigm shift in the dominant trends in the development of economic systems towards greater sustainability. Unfortunately, this opportunity was not taken. This raises the question of whether there must be much more serious crises in relation to those that have already occurred for people to notice the successively growing problem of the global climate crisis, which is likely to lead to a climate catastrophe later in this 21st century? Let's hope not. I hope that the level of pro-environmental awareness among citizens will grow rapidly, as this is an important factor in the possibility of accelerating the processes of successfully carrying out a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the economy towards a sustainable, green closed-circuit economy. The said transformation should still take place in the current decade of the lat. 30s of the 21st century. This is necessary in order to significantly slow down the progressive process of global warming and reduce the scale of the potential negative effects of a future climate catastrophe. The implementation of the principles of sustainability, pro-climate corporate responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) plays a key role in achieving a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the economy towards a sustainable, green closed loop economy. It is also important to note that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals do not cover all aspects of sustainability that should be included in the process of carrying out the pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the classic, brown, combustion economy to a sustainable, green closed loop economy.

The SDG7 seeks to ensure access to clean, affordable and sustainable energy for all. The fuelwood crisis in the 70s/80s was triggered by the Arab-Israeli War (the 1973/4 oil crisis) when astronomical increases in prices of petroleum products especially LPG led to a dramatic increase in the demand for cheaper cooking fuels such as firewood and charcoal. The COVID 19 pandemic coupled with the Russia Ukraine war has sparked another global energy crisis similar to what happened in the 70s. Is another fuelwood crisis looming? If yes what can be done to prevent it?

Dear Mr. Abubakar!
You raised an excellent issue to consider. I am from Hungary and living in Finland. Both countries are heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. May I argue that are not that many options to choose from:
1) Hungary already announced restrictions on wood exports. The other measure is to increase the industrial forest - area.
2) Finland is about to act in the same way
3) The EU must emphasize wood import from outside the continent and propel member states to increase the degree of self-reliance in firewood etc.
4) Russia still might opt for escalating the war toward the Baltic states and Moldova. In case of a nuclear - strike we have to prepare for the worst-case scenario...
5) There is a need for tighter cooperation between African countries and the EU to minimize the evolving uncertainty around the looming energy crisis. >>>>>

How can we define, from a built environment perspective, mainly in architectural and urbanistic terms, the spaces of war? I use spaces because I am looking not only at the core of the destruction, at the fight theater, but also at the transformation of space/built environment at the largest scale possible. Like, for example, the anti-atomic shelters that are present, and still compulsory for many buildings across the planet, or the impulse to build or adapt the houses in order to become autonomous in terms of energy. We recently witnessed a vivid debate and somehow inconclusive debate, accompanied by a plethora of dramatic scenarios about the transformation of space - from the domestic space to cities and territories -, during the first wave of the Covid pandemic, but there is not much theoretical debate now, though since Russia attacked Ukraine millions fled, cities were destroyed, Europe prepares for a cold winter without gas, etc. I wonder what is to learn from these events and if we have the same capacity to build scenarios and observe the transformation of our habitat (I live in Romania) under the pressure of war, and of course to understand the interplay of fragility and resilience in the case of localities in Ukraine.

Even a small conflict in which two nations unleash nuclear weapons on each other could lead to worldwide famine, research suggests. Soot from burning cities would encircle the planet and cool it by reflecting sunlight back into space. This, in turn, would cause global crop failures that — in a worst-case scenario — could put five billion people on the brink of death. The research is the latest in a decades-long thought experiment about the global consequences of nuclear war. It seems especially relevant today as Russia’s war against Ukraine has disrupted global food supplies, underscoring the far-reaching impacts of a regional conflict...

On March 17, 2022, the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine considered and approved the appeal of the NAS of Ukraine to the leadership of the International Association of Academies of Sciences to clearly state its position and condemn the unprovoked military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
In its response, the IAEA effectively distanced itself from any condemnation of the actions of the Russian aggressor. The Association did not react to the bombing of peaceful cities and the destruction of civilian, including scientific, infrastructure, did not show any support for the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, our citizens and our state. This position of the IAU is radically different from that of a large number of international scientific organizations, associations, research centers, foreign academies of science, individual scientists and just people of good will who have condemned Russia's military aggression against a peaceful country and expressed their support for the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. to the Ukrainian people.
In view of this, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine decided to withdraw the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine from the International Association of Academies of Sciences.

At the beginning of 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin uttered the famous phrase: "Why do we need such a world if there is no Russia there?" Then it sounded in the context of Russia's readiness to use nuclear weapons in response to enemy aggression. However, this statement has a much deeper meaning, reflecting the philosophy and worldview of the President of Russia.
The destruction of our state and our people (as well as other nations) can occur not only as a result of a nuclear strike. The likelihood of such a scenario is minimal. The emergence of nuclear weapons is so far the most effective tool to prevent the Third World War, which would have happened 40-60 years ago.
But in the modern world, in recent decades, globalism, the left-liberal ideology of building a totalitarian concentration camp under the control of the so-called world government, poses a much greater danger to us as a country and a nation. For many years, especially in the 90s and 00s, such theses were considered conspiracy theories and outright nonsense. Moreover, the globalists have done a lot of work to marginalize and bring this idea to the point of absurdity. Along with an absolutely realistic assessment, fictional versions appeared that disavowed the true meaning.
This can be compared with the assessment of Freemasonry in the XVIII-XX centuries. It is now reliably known that for centuries there have been Masonic organizations and secret societies, which included representatives of the highest authorities. It was not uncommon for a situation in which representatives of seemingly warring states entered the same society. All this is documented, and everyone can get acquainted with the relevant information.
As an example, I will cite the lodge of the Grand Orient of France, which has taken root in Russia. The para-Masonic organization "Great Orient of the Peoples of Russia" included Kerensky and a significant part of the deputies of the State Duma, which brought the country to the February Revolution.
Many laughed at the (then) hypothesis about the existence of some globalist elites, calling it a notion of conspiracy theorists. Not realizing that they themselves have become victims of the globalist left-liberal ideology, which implies the destruction of states and peoples. They fell victim to the beautiful picture and marketing, buying into the cheap productions of collective Hollywood. They themselves did not notice how they began to set as their goal the consumption of an increasing and absolutely unnecessary amount of goods and services. The cult of the Golden Calf has led to massive intellectual and moral degradation, to the degeneration of our (and not only) society. Fortunately, Russia has not passed the point of no return, which the European states have left far behind.
February 24, 2022 radically changed the course of history. Theoretically, it can be said that the globalist model of a unipolar world was already disintegrating. This is all true, but the question was how many states and peoples the globalists would drag with them into oblivion. And Russia has almost come to this abyss.
Now all the masks are off. Now things can be called by their proper names without any fear. Putin speaks openly about the existence of globalist elites and what liberalism brings with it:
“These objective processes are counteracted by Western globalist elites, provoking chaos, inciting old and new conflicts, implementing a policy of so-called containment, and in fact, undermining any alternative, sovereign paths of development. Thus, they are trying with all their might to preserve the hegemony and power that is slipping out of their hands, they are trying to keep countries and peoples in the grip of a neo-colonial order. Their hegemony means stagnation for the whole world, for the whole civilization, obscurantism and the abolition of culture, neoliberal totalitarianism.
And all this is done with one goal - to maintain its dominance, the model that allows you to parasitize the whole world, as it was centuries before, and such a model can only be kept by force.
I repeat again, the era of the unipolar world order is a thing of the past. No matter how the beneficiaries of the current globalist model cling to the usual state of affairs, it is doomed. Geopolitical changes on a historical scale are going in a completely different direction.”
It can be said without exaggeration that on February 24, Russia began the battle not only for its own existence and future. But also for the future of all mankind. We act as a battering ram to the neoliberal globalist model of the world order, accelerating the process of its destruction. It is we who, as before, are saving states and peoples from falling into the abyss of globalism, from which it is already impossible to get out. The sooner globalism and liberalism are destroyed, the more nations will survive.
But it is necessary to clearly understand that we are not fighting against specific individuals, not against specific geopolitical formations. They are only the fruit and form of existence of the left-liberal ideology. And we are fighting with it. And it is insidious, it permeates entire strata of society. And inside Russia there are a huge number of supporters of this ideology. As in February 1917, the decisive blow can be delivered not by an obvious enemy, but by a traitor within the country.
What to do with it? It is impossible to fight ideology with a repressive mechanism. It will cultivate more and more new adepts. Of course, it is necessary to stop the subversive activities of the most odious personalities, but this will be a constant struggle only with the consequences of the problem.
As in the case of nuclear weapons, nuclear deterrence, globalism must be answered with its own ideology. It should be clear and understandable, reflect the views and worldview of the majority of our people. Now I will not even list the main theses and provisions. They are well known and generally accepted. The problem is that they are not united, not structured and, as a result, cannot be the basis of the policy pursued by the state and society. This is where seemingly surprising contradictions come from, when individual ministries are guided by completely different goals and principles.
Therefore, the second stage of the battle for their own sovereign existence should be the formation of a people's ideology. Without this, we will continue to be more or less dependent on foreign influence and will not be able to offer the world a new unique path of development.

Where are independent higher education research centres specialising in TRUE Orthodox Christianity, not to be confused with Orthodox Christianity ? True Orthodox Christianity rejects the modernism with its roots in the Russian and earlier Revolutions, including the paracanonical (canonically impermissible) calendar reforms promulgated by incomplete Robber Synods starting with the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the 1920s and the genocide of True (aka Authentic, Genuine or Catacomb) Orthodox Christianity by modernist Orthodox Christianity, resulting ultimately in the response of the True Orthodox Christian 1983 Anathema against Ecumenism by the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) aka Russian Orthodox Church in Exile (ROCIE), embraced by all True, Authentic, Genuine and Catacomb Orthodox Christians. The True Orthodox genocide is numerically by far the greatest Christian martyrdom ever, with tens of millions in the former Russian Empire alone (a large majority of the 110 million "The Economist" estimates were murdered by the Soviet regime alone), was triggered by the refusal of the World Council of Churches, meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to allow a Greek True Orthodox bishop to speak about this matter, though the New York Times published his proposed address. In response the anathema was promulgated, in English, the WCC official language, at the ROCOR Synodical meeting at their monastery in Mansonville, Québec, also in Canada. Despite making up between 1 and 10% of the Orthodox Christian populations, in the broad sense of the term, throughout the world, I have been, even as an interested True Orthodox Christian, been unable to find any state recognised study centres devoted to the study of True Orthodox Christianity, as opposed to Orthodox Christianity. Some institutions, such as Cambridge University's Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies claim to have all locally active Orthodox Synods represented on their governing bodies, but didn't respond to my request for the publicly available details of the True Orthodox Christian Synods represented there. In any event, that Institute is not an Institute of TRUE Orthodox Christian studies.

No, they've been involved in instigating and coordinating the persecution of True Orthodox Christians since their forced introduction of the new calendar in the 1920s, for example sending in the Greek police to shut down True Orthodox liturgies by force, resulting in the death of peaceful True Orthodox Christians trying to block them off, peacefully, from their priests. St. Catherine of Mandra died in this way from her injuries from a Greek police rifle butt to the back of her head in 1927 after over a week in hospital (in which, though she never regained speech, she was able to write a note to her surviving husband asking him to take care of her two small children, her angels. The new calendar has always been rejected by True Orthodox Christians who uphold holy tradition and reject the thoroughly modernist dominated Patriarchate of Constantinople's failure to repent and consequently haven't re-established communion with it until this happens. The official address of the Patriarchate of Constantinople is Constantinople, Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul is the biggest city in Europe and one of the largest in Asia, with 15 million plus people and still growing fast, with the Constantinople part of it, including the Phanar, long swallowed up. The fact that they've received some very raw treatment themselves from the Turkish state, though utterly deplorable, doesn't alter this. I'm fairly certain (99% confident) no such independent institution recognised by the academic and state authorities, exists. I would much welcome collaboration in getting one set up! It would be useful for scientists from Ukraine to share their experience of participating in the noble competition of the Austrian Academy of Sciences JESH Ukraine, aimed to supporting them at this difficult time. Such a discussion will allow us to understand how the system of competitions at the Academy works and, thanks to this, to increase the effectiveness of our research.
So, my personal experience:
My application "Next generation structural materials for extreme applications ‒ materials with maximum fracture resistance and weight efficiency" with letters of support worthy of a monument in the center of Vienna was accepted for consideration, but its result turned out to be negative with the wording - "due to the high number of applications". Very elegant humour. Bravo. It's like telling an athlete that he didn't get a medal because there were too many participants in the competition :-)
It is well known that evaluation criteria in science are much more complicated than in sports.
After that, having studied in detail the conditions of the competition, I did not find the criteria for evaluating applications. It turns out that this contest is just a "game without rules".
I turned to the Academy with a request to inform at least where the names of the winning applications will be published, even without explaining the parameters by which they were chosen. They answered me: "names of applications approved by JESH Ukraine will not be published for privacy reasons".
Without knowing the criteria for evaluating applications and the names of the winning applications, it is impossible to understand the scientific or other priorities of the Academy in supporting certain applications and assess the feasibility of participating in its "competitions". It turns out that today we know more about the structure of Black Holes than about the principles of the JESH Ukraine contest except that information/light cannot leave them.
Self-publishing of application titles that were supported or not supported, will allow us to understand the priorities and possible criteria of the Academy ourselves and not waste time and effort on preparing applications that are obviously not passable, as well as exempt the Academy from considering applications in scientific areas that Academy does not develop or support.

The European Union has been discussing the possibility of imposing new sanctions over the past few weeks, which should make it difficult for Russian energy supplies to the West. Discussions are taking place in a very tense atmosphere and to the accompaniment of heated debates, since not all members of the bloc are ready to refuse fuel from the Russian Federation.
The European Union did everything possible to break the Russian economy, but in the end, with these actions, it harmed itself.
The imposition of sanctions against Russia turned out to be an extremely negative effect for Western economies. Restrictions on the Russian Federation - one of the world's largest energy exporters - provoked a sharp increase in the cost of fuel. Oil and gas became so expensive that even the wealthy countries of Western Europe “howled” at these prices. But the EU went even further: the bloc's leadership decided to completely ban the import of Russian oil.
The European Union announced its intention to reduce its dependence on Russian oil by 90%. At first glance, Russia is in a real quandary and faces serious problems. However, something strange happened - the West began to panic, not Moscow.
While the EU countries were arguing vigorously over new sanctions, Russia was watching all this from the sidelines. Some time ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation. He stated that the rejection of Russian energy carriers would become an economic auto-da-fé for Europe.
The prospect of harming their own economy did not please many states, and they slowed down the negotiation of new sanctions. As a result, they never managed to agree on an oil embargo, on the contrary, it came to the point that the EU leadership agreed to revise the terms of the sanctions. Now the ban will affect only the supply of Russian oil by sea, pipelines will continue to operate as before.

Dear colleagues, friends! Having launched a full-scale war against our country, Russia hoped for its rapid occupation, the destruction of our sovereignty, national and human dignity. However, we are able to defend ourselves on all possible fronts. Ukrainians are demonstrating real heroism, unknown before consolidation of people, army and government, desire to defend the chosen path of freedom and Euro-Atlantic integration. In different ways, the world helps us to endure and win. Do not stay away from the global battle of good and evil, democracy and tyranny, mind and madness. We are ready to provide the results of the monitoring of our actions, which is constantly conducted by our experts (attached to this letter). KNEU is open for any kind of cooperation to stop the war and rebuild the economy of Ukraine.

Dear distinguished colleague,
Recently we have started comparative global research that we have started recently on 'Students' perception on the Russia-Ukraine war 2022' (link to the website: http://www.covidsoclab.org/russia-ukraine-war-2022/), covering various economic and social effects of this war. The global comparative analysis helps us formulate the most useful recommendations for policymakers.
If you are interested in participating (as a contact person and a potential co-author of a joint paper, do let me know to give you further guidelines – see also research guidelines on the webpage: http://www.covidsoclab.org/russia-ukraine-war-2022/research-guidelines/). Your main task at this stage would be to motivate students from your institution (or wider in the country) to complete the online questionnaire by 30 April 2022 at the latest (here is only a preview link: https://1ka.arnes.si/a/60ee60a0&preview=on). When we have the results, we will analyse and compare them (between countries included in our study - then is a plan to prepare academic article(s) relating to different (e.g., economic and social aspects) of the Russia-Ukraine war 2022 together with the analysed results of our questionnaire survey). You will also receive data from your country/institution in order to deploy it in further research. The detailed dissemination plan will be finalised later according to the interests of international partners.
If your time is limited and do not allow you to fully join at this moment, we would kindly ask you if you could motivate and share a link with your students to fill out the questionnaire (please, do see a message and a link for students below) and we will be happy to provide you with the data/result/report for your institution.
Please, do not hesitate to contact me in case of any further queries.

Today there is no an alternative to the concept of sustainable development. Co-evolutionary paradigm is a theoretical and methodological basis for sustainable development of the “biosphere – society” system that is possible through creating the biosphere reserves, ecological network, reserve management, and use of renewable resources (solar, wind, wave, geothermal). Establishing an ecological network actually improves the condition biogeocenosis of Ukraine due to: stabilization of the hydrological regime (protection of surface and groundwater), stop of erosion, improvement of soil, conservation of renewable resources, maintenance of the balance in the natural processes, support of the natural migration of species and biota, reduction in pollution of the environment. However, we can expect positive changes in social and economic plan: historic preservation and development of environmentally friendly forms of farming (apiculture, fish farming, organic animal husbandry, and horticulture), optimization of the use of different areas and their spatial location in the environmental context, creation of comfortable for health living conditions.
What is advisable to do ? It is important for society to have time to realize that the reduction of the natural landscape and biological diversity to buffer threshold value eliminates the stability of the environment that can be restored only through the creation of sewage treatment plants, low-waste production or organic farming.
Аccording to the analysis of literary sources the Fibonacci numbers and the regularity called «golden average»/«golden section» were analyzed. Сybernetic principle of ecosystems genetic memory as biotic diversity was characterized. The combination of the gene pool of biodiversity within the biosphere should be interpreted advisable as a regulatory mechanism for maintaining homeostasis of this mega ecosystem. The first time the possibility of transition to sustainable (balanced) development of «biosphere – society» system based on the principles of the «golden section» was researched, which provides for mandatory the ratio between cultural and natural landscapes at 62% and 38% respectively. It means that biosphere reserves of biological and landscape diversity (resuscitation area of the biosphere) should be created on 38% of the territory of the planet), and other 62% should be occupied by artificial agro and urboecosystems with balanced nature usage.
It is advisable to stick to the concept of natural «golden section», which mandates the relationship between cultural and natural landscapes of the planet at 62 % and 38 % respectively. Humanity must go to the autotrophy. Today it is growing the adapted to adverse environmental conditions plants and receiving high-calorie, high- protein foods. The most important fact is that a human is destined to go down the food chain including the consumption of soy protein rather than to lose 90 % of the energy of food to feed the animals.
It is expedient for humanity (only intelligent sapiens) to listen to the wisdom of nature ("Nature knows best") and move to a balanced use of nature on the basis of coevolutionary symbiotic coexistence of the "society-biosphere" system, where the biosphere is the master and man is the symbiotic consumer. We consider the coevolutionary paradigm as a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the possibility of sustainable development

Do you think that large-scale exploitation of shale gas would be a solution to alleviate the energy crisis which seems to be taking hold? What support measures should be put in place to mitigate its impact on health, on water resources and on the environment in general? What are the research efforts and technological developments that would be necessary to undertake to anticipate and prepare the ground for large-scale exploitation of shale gas throughout the world? what would be the legislative and regulatory provisions to be put in place as a priority to control the associated risks?

Answer
Dear Jamel Sir, If shale gas is to be established on a global scale, prominent environmental import and export may indeed be obliged, and even though some of this could be owing to complexities due to lack of data. Long-term approach, protracted climate and energy aspirations for limiting the social and environmental consequences of shale gas must be devised and constantly monitored throughout its exploitation to guarantee its real significance. Eventually, questions affecting occupation parity in the shale energy business sector, as well as public understanding, commitment, and idea sharing with the general populace, are essential to guaranteeing clarity and proper relationship throughout the shale development phase.

EU policy towards Ukraine and Russia remains a status-quo, regardless of critical voices pleading for changing EU’s policy towards Russia, especially in Germany. On the contrary, the EU emphasizes European unity, maintaining the sanction regime against Russia by upholding diplomatic channels at the same time and supporting the Ukrainian policy of territorial integrity. Its far-reaching association agreement with Ukraine has become operative. In the eyes of the EU, Russia alone represents the guilty party of the conflict.

Looking at the distribution of detected and recorded deaths in countries around the world, we can conclude that more globalized countries are more affected by the new virus (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/). First and foremost, the virus has hit the countries most economically related to China. These are the G7 countries and their closest partners (and Iran). Developed countries obviously have the most outsourced production in China. Accordingly, they have many business trips to China. Good wages of developed countries give citizens great freedom to travel the world (in particular, to exotic China).
And first of all, these free people brought the virus to their friends, relatives and colleagues.
In developed countries, the authorities cannot restrict the freedom of citizens, as in China, for example. This is probably why the virus has spread rapidly to Europe and the United States at the beginning.
Second- and third-tier countries have received a small amount of time because they are much less affiliated with China. They currently have an order or two orders of magnitude fewer deaths. Yet. Whether the second and third tier countries will be able to keep deaths low is another question. Will see. In these countries (like Ukraine, Mexico), the health system is weak. Will strict quarantine rules and greater control by the authorities be a social deterrent to the virus. Will see. If a third-tier country erupts into the virus, as in developed countries, there will probably be a collapse and defenseless paramedics will run away. Will it be, we will see soon.

Dear Colleagues,
Economic policy in the European Union's Eastern and Southern neighborhood is embedded in the frameworks offered by EU's enlargement and neighborhood policies. Under these frameworks, regional development and policy play a significant role, as is evident in the current introduction of the smart specialization approach to regional innovation policy in the Western Balkans, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, and Tunisia. Further approaches of regional development relevant to EU enlargement and neighborhood countries include the LEADER/CLLD approach, and building capacities in organizations such as regional development agencies according to experiences made in EU member states represents an important complement for the introduction of policy approaches. In this context, the special issue seeks contributions that deal with aspects of regional analysis, policy approaches, and institutional or organizational questions in EU enlargement or neighborhood countries and their regions.

I have been tasked to write a media report about a conflict (in my case the annexation of Crimea) for an assignment due soon.
I have decided to compare The following documentaries:
Crimea for Dummies by Russia Today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xURFKxliGh8
Select a suitable method, or productive combination of methods, to analyse this (whether, for example, content analysis, semiotics or another form of visual analysis, critical linguistics or discourse analysis).
What method would you recommend to analyse and compare the two? I’ve looked at a content analysis, but the methodologies and their results (formulas, symbols and numbers etc.) have completely discombobulated me.
I also have also not got a clue on how to create a code book, since i’ve struggled to find a single study which compares two visual documentaries like above.
I have been been told to explain why these broadcasters. I have done already done this. but I’ve also been told that I could “Maybe - differing accounts of the rationale for war? different thematic focus’ and what this may mean/suggest? Different voices in play, and what this may mean etc/“
I am stressed out and am feeling extremely stupid at this present time.
Any help would be appreciated.

This question is very tricky. There is a generic body of activity, which will probably give more depth of answers than the confrontation of two very contrasted although professionally published views. You know Wikipedia. The generic term of such activity as Wikipedia is Commons Based Peer Production. An interesting EU project names P2P value has worked on it. Look it up. I have heard some years ago at a conference, a presentation on the study of the edition of a controversial Wikipedia article, with two very polarised groups with different opinions rewriting what the others had drafted. A trace of how people opposed each other through the sentences was very visible and analysable.
Analysing the language to understand history, even history happening now, is not new.
You probably want to establish:
-facts
-opinions
-intents
-bias.
You may also trace methods and influence of methods.
To do this, you need to start from a model of:
-players on the ground
-confrontations
-"big brothers" behind the players on the ground, clearly foreign influence included.
-propaganda (bias in speech and claims).
Wars are sometimes fought by proxy.
You may be inspired by previous work on other conflicts, and the methodology used. Why not do a search on the language used in conflict times?
Just from the top of my mind, I remember a book by German linguist Viktor Klemperer with title "LTI" (referring to Latin Lingua Tertii Imperii, the language of the Third Reich). In this book, starting from a glossary of key words, the author analyses myths and propaganda which were instrumental in "controlling by the language" during this dark era of Germany.
