Imo, Jesse Daniel Brown has given a reasonable explanation of the university (financing) problem, in terms of economic organization of academia.
With respect to his prediction, formulated in the last sentence, I do also think that the information age will change education and research drastically, also in terms of accreditation standards, i.e. access to higher learning and earning pathways.
___________
The real University, he said, has no specific location. It owns no property, pays no salaries and receives no material dues. The real University is a state of mind. It is that great heritage of rational thought that has been brought down to us through the centuries and which does not exist at any specific location. It's a state of mind which is regenerated throughout the centuries by a body of people who traditionally carry the title of professor, but even that title is not part of the real University. The real University is nothing less than the continuing body of reason itself. In addition to this state of mind, 'reason,' there's a legal entity which is unfortunately called by the same name but which is quite another thing. This is a nonprofit corporation, a branch of the state with a specific address. It owns property, is capable of paying salaries, of receiving money and of responding to legislative pressures in the process. But this second university, the legal corporation, cannot teach, does not generate new knowledge or evaluate ideas. It is not the real University at all. It is just a church building, the setting, the location at which conditions have been made favorable for the real church to exist.

From the announcements of politicians, it appears that in a few years manned expeditions to the Moon will resume. On the Earth's moon, bases will be established for the preparation of a man's expedition to Mars, which may already be carried out in a dozen or so years. Manned expeditions to Mars in the perspective of a dozen or so years have already announced the US and China.
So there is a rivalry in the field of who will first make a manned trip to Mars. Will it be a similar competition as in the 1970s between the US and the USSR in the area of the then competing programs of the planned and implemented manned expedition to the Moon.
Or maybe a manned expedition to Mars will not be a competition between the biggest economic and technological powers of the world? Perhaps these planned further cosmic manned expeditions will be international expeditions, will be implemented as part of international cooperation and co-operation, and the crew of cosmonauts will be a crew composed of representatives of various countries?
What is your opinion on this matter? Should a manned space expedition to Mars be conducted as part of the international competition between competing countries or rather as part of international cooperation and cooperation?
Do you agree with me on the above matter?
In the context of the above issues, I am asking you the following question:
Is the planned space manned expedition to Mars a result of the rivalry between economic powers or their cooperation?
Please reply
I invite you to the discussion
Thank you very much

So much is in a flux right now, the level of uncertainty is high and there is a constant battle between narratives. What is your opinion; when will our economies start to recover? Many businesses are in deep crisis, like airlines, reaturants and the whole travel industry. What are your thoughts?
Relevant answer
Answer
Normalizing the global health crisis will take 1-2 years (acute measures); stabilizing the economy back will take 3-5 years. This is a war-like control szenario, in terms of mathematical and physical modelling.
EU recovery will be chronically slower, because of stronger state interventionist storms, e.g. monetary union into debt union.

Hallo everyone,
I am doing a dynamic analysis with Abaqus. The steps of my model is as following:
step1 static Analysis (a stepped shaft inserted in a chuck with different clamping forces)
step2 eigenfrequency analysis
step3 frequency Response analysis
modal based Steady-state dynamic analysis
The impuls force is set to 1N at the tip of the shaft in x direction which is vertical to the shaft's axial direction(Y).
I want to get the plot of frequency Response after putting the Impuls at step3.
But I don't know which Points I should select for my Output.
Instead of choosing of history Output of single Points, I selected the 'Generalized displacement'. This variable seems can only show the Response of the whole model. Then I got the Response plot of Mode 1 to 4.(see below)
Is this plot correct for using as result of the dynamic Analysis?
Or is there other variables I should use for history Output?
Relevant answer
Answer
Rohola Rahnavard thanks for your advice. I got the plot of the messpoint(see below). But there is a sharp drop at About 5000Hz. In the eigenfrequenz Analysis I found the mode 3 to 6 of interest, so I specified the substracted frequency range in the FRF Analysis from 4200 to 10000 Hz. The damping ratio was 0,01. But I don't quite understand the drop in the plot.
The result of step2 Frequency:

What are some of the main debates surrounding constitutional and administrative law in the US?
Relevant answer
Answer
The constitution reflects the aspirations and ideologies of an organization or a country. The constitution is written down by democratic countries and other constitutional monarchies. The act of writing down a constitution helps to gain common people's trust in the government of the country or the organization.
Constitutional government is defined by the existence of a constitution—which may be a legal instrument or merely a set of fixed norms or principles generally accepted as the fundamental law of the policy—that effectively controls the exercise of political power. The essence of constitutionalism is the control of power by its distribution among several state organs or offices in such a way that they are each subjected to reciprocal controls and forced to cooperate in formulating the will of the state.
whereas,
Administrative law is the body of law created by the agencies and departments of the government, which carry out the laws passed by Congress or a state legislature. When Congress passes a law on a complicated issue, Congress often needs help determining all of the details of how the law will be enforced and implemented. Administrative agencies and government departments fill in those gaps for Congress and pass additional rules and regulations to achieve Congress's goals.
Hope that helps.

In Ansys Workbench,I need to analyze time varying non-constant amplitude load [100, -50,25,-75... ] for fatigue life. Which is the correct way from below 2 options ?
1) Perform static analysis with the single peak value (100N) of the signal and find von-mises stresses. Then inserting fatigue tool in the analysis, apply full load time history using History data file import and calculate life
2) Apply full time varying load cycle in the static analysis and in Fatigue tool, apply the 'normalized' signal i.e apply the signal divided by peak value e.g [1,-0.5,0.25,-0.75....]

I am seeking to compare assessment test scores from a standard exam in US history at two different types of universities. The goal is to see which type of university produces the highest test scores.
Relevant answer
Answer
Should be able to use a standard independent samples t-test here.
Computing a t-value then seeing it's p-value will allow you to test the probability that the two sets of test scores come from populations with equivalent means.

Dear colleagues! The topic of my research is the "American museums and the formation of national identity in the US, 1877 - 1920". Can you advise me on the matter of searching historic sources concerning the work of American museums in the late 19 - early 20 centuries? As well as those originated in these museums themselves and from the outside. What to start with? Are there any resource guides? I have to admit that I look primarly for electronic versions of documents, books etc but the information about physical library collections and archives will be welcomed, too.

Does anyone know of any histories of Catholic social activism between 1890 and 1945 in the United States?
Names and autobiographies/biographies of activists would be helpful in addition to social movement/collective activist histories.
Relevant answer
Answer
Look at Dorothy Day and colleagues in the Catholic Worker Movement in the 1930s, I believe, which is a precursor to Catholic Action and Liberation Theology.  There is a thread of the convergence of Marxism and Christianity throughout, which Day confronted, and which came to fruition later in the 70s with Liberation Theology (Segundo & Gutierrez), although the latter is post your time frame. Interesting topic all around, particularly in the dissonance within the Vatican to activism despite the contention one might make that Christianity itself is an activist platform.

I cannot find information regarding who the census takers were in Connecticut. Have you been able to find out who they were in your research?
Relevant answer
Answer
I spoke with Dr. McBride about this yesterday since I felt that I only knew part of the answer.
Mashantuckets would not have appeared on national censuses during this period nor would they until about the turn of the 20th century.  That being said, the overseers did at irregular intervals take a sort of tribal census where they counted and listed the families living on the reservation.  There is one of these in the early 1830s, I believe.  Some caveats about this: It was not a true census and provides very different information about the families than a national census would.  Also, the lists are not considered to be complete and it is very likely that some families are left off.  This could be for a variety of reasons including racial bias or perceived inauthenticity on the part of the overseer or other Mashantucket community members.
If you are interested in learning more about the overseers or the tribal lists, Jason Mancini is a good person to talk to.  I can also help in any way I can or of course Dr. McBride is also a good resource.
