İf you are searching for genetic ties, you had better look at the words which stem from sexual foundations like vulva, penis, balls, waist, to fuck, to shit, anus etc, since genetics are doing good there.
There is no known study where Swadesh directly expressed the view that genetic connections are stronger and more deeply embedded in the ambiguous and morally offensive taboo swear words considered sinful or cursed in religious terms. While Swadesh worked on language families and fundamental root relationships, these studies generally focused on everyday or basic vocabulary (such as nature, family, and numbers). Studies related to profane or taboo areas are usually examined from sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives, but there is no specific source indicating that Swadesh provided an analysis specifically on these linguistic origins.
To explore words where genetic connections are thought to be strong, it might be useful to look into sociolinguistic and anthropological linguistic approaches.

We will time-travel to the time of Christ by looking at the language and culture of Afghanistan. In this PowerPoint, you will see a student’s wooden chalk board to help Afghan children learn verses from the Khoran, an Afghan Coloring Book, and a straw picture of Two Important Afghan Words: “Muhammad” and “Allah”
The Afghan language (Dari) is rich in metaphor. The Afghan word for a Prickly Pear Cactus is “zabane mader showhar” (which translates as “mother-in-law’s tongue.” The Afghan word for Ostrich is “shotor-morgh” which translates as “elephant hen.” The Afghan word for Popcorn is “chos e fil” which means “elephant’s fart. Another Afghan word for Popcorn is “pof e fil” which means “elephant’s puff.” The Afghan word for Lady Bird (the insect) is “kafsh duzak” which means “little shoe-smith.” A Turkey in Afghan Persian is “fil morgh” which means “elephant chicken.” And a Turtle is “sang posht” which means “rock back.”
Our favorite Afghan metaphor is their word for Walnut. A Walnjt is called “chahar maghs” which means “four brains.” If you think about it, that’s what a Walnut actually looks like—four brains.
From 1967-1969, when the Nilsen family lived in Kabul, Afghanistan we saw many beautiful English signs that were mostly misspelled, but the misspellings are perfectly logically. Our favorite sign advertised flowers, and the wording on the sign was “Flower and Buket Maker.” It took us a while to figure this one out. What the sign meant to saywas “Flower and bouquet maker.”

Let me please clarify that what is the main characteristic of Democracy? Secondly, how do you see democracy in Turkey and Pakistan? What is the best democratic between Pakistan and Turkey?
Relevant answer
Answer
Democracy is a governance system where power is vested in the people, either directly or through elected representatives. Key aspects of democracy include public sovereignty, political equality, rule of law, protection of minority rights, and accountability and transparency.
Regarding Turkey and Pakistan:
Turkey: Turkey has a history of democratic institutions but has experienced periods of military coups and interventions. In recent decades, Turkey has held regular elections, and there is a multi-party system. However, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership, concerns have arisen about democratic backsliding, including restrictions on press freedom, crackdowns on political opposition, and changes to the judiciary and electoral laws that critics argue undermine democratic principles.
Pakistan: Pakistan has also faced challenges in establishing stable democratic governance since gaining independence in 1947. It has seen periods of military rule interspersed with civilian governments. In recent years, Pakistan has held relatively free and fair elections, and there is a parliamentary system with a multi-party democracy. However, issues such as political corruption, weak institutional frameworks, and military influence in politics have often strained democratic processes.
Comparison and Evaluation:
The best democracy between Pakistan and Turkey depends on various factors, including institutional stability, political freedoms, electoral process, rule of law, and minority rights. Turkey has experienced more stable periods of democracy, while Pakistan has faced challenges in press freedom and human rights. Both countries hold regular elections, but concerns over fairness and transparency have been raised, particularly in Turkey's recent elections. Both countries face challenges in ensuring the rule of law and protecting minority rights, with varying degrees of success.
In conclusion, assessing the "best" democracy between Pakistan and Turkey involves considering multiple dimensions of democratic governance, including political freedoms, institutional stability, electoral integrity, and respect for rules of law and minority rights. Both countries have made strides in certain aspects of democracy while facing challenges in others, highlighting the ongoing complexities and nuances of democratic development in different contexts.
I hope this answer will give you a high confidence.

Question

I would like to know about the PKK's position in relation to turkey's GAP project.
Is this a case of green-grabbing or water-grabbing?
Why had Turkey refused to sign the Watercourses convention and why did it finally decide of adhere in 2022?
Relevant answer
Answer
Firstly, I am not an expert. However, I can certainly state that the international politics in Middle East and North Africa is mostly never affected by a single issue, be it the GAP project, Iraqi War, or any other conflict or consensus. The GAP project has both positive effects and drawbacks for the southeastern region of Turkey which the Kurdish population is majority. The project aimed at building infrastructure for the region which is dry in soil. The positive effects could be considered as infrastructure development (the southeastern region is underdeveloped in terms of infrastructure), economic benefits to the region, and addressing the unemployment issue in the region. I also would like to note that PKK which is an active terrorist organization recruits its members mostly from the southeastern region. The economic development within the region could hamper PKK from recruiting members from the region (assumption). Moreover, it is also important to analyze the relationship between PKK, Syrian government, and Iraqi government. The current relationship between these bodies are formed by territorial conflicts because of the YPG's (the extension of PKK) presence in the northern Syria and the presence of PKK in the northern Iraq. Since Euphrates and Tigris rivers are also shared by these states, PKK's position seems plausible in order to further alienate the two states from Turkey and distract a possible collaboration of three states in fighting with terrorism in the region. The question whether the case is related to green-grabbing and water-grabbing is a matter of debate. However, the speech act securitizing the issue, I believe, is related to the power dynamics within the region. The persistent objection of Watercourses Agreement by Turkey has been simply subjected to national sovereignty concerns. Turkey initially did not want to lose control over the rivers and therefore refused. Yet, the change in decision could be stemmed by several factors including the finalization of the project, the wish for stabilization in region, accumulating international support etc.
I know I have answered your questions maybe out of your topic by mostly including international relations concepts, but I hope this answers your questions. I can gladly answer your further questions.

Answer
There are a few instances of legal cases related to biotechnology in Turkey:
  1. International Backlash Against Pharma Localization: The European Union (EU) initiated a formal dispute before the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Turkey’s program to localize the production of pharmaceutical products1. The EU argued that localization measures discriminate against imported products and violate Turkey’s obligations as a WTO member1. The WTO established a panel to assess the EU’s complaints and Turkey’s respective argumentation1.
  2. Product Liability of Pharmaceutical Companies: The product liability arising due to the use of pharmaceuticals is a sensitive issue in Turkey2. Manufacturers, importers, distributors, warehouses, and pharmacies all participate in the marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals2. Due to the complex nature of pharmaceutical products, it is difficult for the patient to prove that the damage is the result of the manufacturer’s fault2.

I'm a teacher of EFL (English as a foreign language) in Turkey. I have used a new teaching model in my face to face classes this semester, and now I'd like to see how much it has affected my secondary school students' motivation towards English (maybe along with their attitude towards English lessons, their engagement with English lessons, etc (any other possible areas of study). What is the easiest way of collecting data for a descriptive research on this matter (I don't have time to develop a scale or cannot find one that would perfectly fit my context), and what questions do you think would be better to ask? Open-ended, yes/no/undecided, Likert-scale style? What about the reliability and validity issues? Can't I simply come up with some questions by myself and use them?
Thank you so much for taking time to have a look at this. Any sort of answers are highly appreciated 🙏

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Sociology in Germany. I am looking for a friend who is interested in co-writing an article on the topic outlined below or any other related topic. 1. have previous writing experience
  2. competent in academic English
  3. familiar to scientific article structure
  4. come from social science disciplines

Example Abstract (Only a Draft):
This article examines the aftermath of the failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, 2016, and the subsequent strategies employed by the Erdoğan regime to consolidate its power. Drawing on Gramscian concepts, particularly the notion of cultural hegemony, this study argues that the failed coup d'état has facilitated the development of a culturally rich project based on an Islamo-nationalist discourse. Through contextual discourse analysis, this research analyzes the speeches delivered by President Erdoğan and government officials during the coup attempt era, aiming to demonstrate how populist Islamist-nationalist discourse aligns with the ruling party's agenda.
The findings of this study reveal that the emergence of populist expressions rooted in both Islamist and Turkish nationalist ideologies signifies the successful construction of a collectively reproduced belief system. This belief system has effectively provided narratives of legitimacy for the ruling party, enabling its transformation of state institutions. By harnessing the power of populist discourse, the Erdoğan regime has managed to secure its political dominance and solidify its authority.
The implications of this research shed light on the complex relationship between populism, nationalism, and religious discourse in contemporary Turkish politics. This study underscores the significance of cultural hegemony as a tool for political consolidation and highlights the role of populist rhetoric in shaping the narratives that legitimize transformative actions within state institutions. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for comprehending the ongoing political developments in Turkey and their broader implications for democratic governance.
Keywords: Islamist nationalism, populism, July 15, coup attempt, Turkey

Here is the example from our Death Valley, the driest place (5.5 cm rain/year) in our country--in non-saline soils, there is still seeds in the soil to produce some plant cover on every square meter, and that could be a goal for your country also.
No more bare soil anywhere in Iran, all with some native vegetation cover, to lock that soil down, and keep it from becoming airborne, as your question was interested in discussing the dust storms.
Your one billion trees in four years will be a good start, and by applying the bandaid of wildflowers and native grasses to the bare soil in non-saline soils, so that there is some native vegetation on every square meter, will be the beginning of a rapid turn around for your country with zero dust storms plus a massive increase in annual rainfall.
Especially rapid changes, if you add the ICE+ host plants. I have a lot of confidence that Iran can be a leader in this effort, that every country around you could learn from.

In connection with the question can remember about next factors:
1. It is known about the reflection of electromagnetic radiation (ER) from the ionosphere. The high frequencies of the ER are absorbed and the low frequencies of the ER are reflected.
2. The purpose of the HAARP project was to study the interaction of the ionosphere with powerful ER.
3. HAARP and similar systems use highly directional transmitting antennas, usually phased array antennas, capable of focusing almost all of the radiated energy into a narrow beam and therefore into a small area of space.
4. It is known about the effect of ER on deformation processes in the Earth crust. An assumption was put forward about the trigger mechanism of the effect of ER on seismicity.
5. There are facts of strengthening the seismic regime under the influence of a magnetohydrodynamic generator (MHD generator).
6. There were statements of a political nature about the evacuation of the diplomatic embassies of Western countries before the earthquake itself on February 6, 2023 in Turkey.
7. There are other stations capable of influencing the Earth's ionosphere.
Therefore, the technogenic impact of such ER systems on seismicity cannot be ruled out.

Can we propose newer seismic provisions for designing a building along a faultline of tectonic plates? Is it possible to safeguard the occupants of such earthquake occured recently in Turkey of magnitude 7.8 richter?
Relevant answer
Answer
In Google Scholar and Google do a search using the words safeguard, retrofit, fault-lines and 7 richter for homes and commercial building design. Add specific areas that you know to sit on or near fault-lines. I'm in the US. The entire south west coast sits on fault-line. Look for building standards for the city of San Francisco, in the state of California. They continue build and rebuild the city due to severe earthquakes using the latest building ideas.

Appeal to geophysicists and leadership of Turkey.
Greetings to you, colleagues. It's a tough time, I sympathize with you.
Moreover, I saw the anomalies of these two earthquakes ten hours before the start of the shocks.
For an accurate forecast, you need to have a network of five stations or more.
If you and your government want to create a working group that will supply equipment to seismic stations (for about 10 stations), then I am ready to give you advice on the interpretation of the Kozyrev-Yagodin wave, forecasting with high accuracy. To find the VELMAP package in MATLAB for inverting GNSS data in a specific region, you can follow these steps:
  1. Search the MathWorks File Exchange website: The MathWorks File Exchange is a repository of MATLAB code submitted by users from around the world. You can search for the VELMAP package by going to the website and entering "VELMAP" in the search bar.
  2. Check the MATLAB Central community: The MATLAB Central community is another source of MATLAB code and tools, including packages for geodetic applications. You can search for the VELMAP package by going to the website and entering "VELMAP" in the search bar.
  3. Contact the authors of the VELMAP package: If you are unable to find the VELMAP package through the MathWorks File Exchange or the MATLAB Central community, you can try contacting the authors of the package directly. You may be able to find their contact information through a search engine or by contacting the academic institution or research organization where they work.
Please note that the availability of the VELMAP package may depend on its licensing and the permissions granted by its authors. Before you put me in the same category as Von Daniken, hear me out.
When the ice spread across Europe, it basically annihilated everything and changed the landscape. New valleys and fjords later emerged where there had been none.
My reason for asking such a speculative question is partly related to the extraordinary age of the Göbekli Tepe site in Turkey, and the fact that in order to raise such structures skills are needed which presuppose organized learning of some sort.
Today archaeology has moved down at almost a molecular level. And I thought this might make it possible to search for clues of what preceded the ice-age in a new way. So, the question is does the evidence exist, and is any search feasible?
Relevant answer
Answer
Along the coast of France, during the last ice age when the Cosquer cave was inhabited by a prehistoric society, the level of the sea was 120 meters lower than it is today. If the oceans were that much lower than today, because of Glacial formation isn't it possible for the The Yonaguni Monument to have been carved out of rock by human hands?
Is the Göbekli Tepe site in Turkey a one off, did it just appeared out of no where. The Sahara desert hasn't given up any of it's secrets, nor the Jungles of Africa or the southern Americas nor the ice covered polar poles. Any pre-glacial civil structures found along the western coast of North America has been pulled under the earth's crust and turned into metamorphic rock.
Didn't the World's space program use satellite penetrating radar to map the world surface and they found buried structural signs of human construction everywhere?
A 25,000-year-old Ice Age structure made from the bones of 60 wooly mammoths has been unearthed in Russia. Any wooden structures found in jungle settings have probably rotted away, long ago. But prehistoric caves are found all over the world, showing signs of human occupation.

Dear colleagues,
We are currently looking for the type material of Paul Oppenheim's 1919-work "Das Neogen in Kleinasien" (Zeitschrift der Deutschen Geologischen Gesellschaft 70), specifically of Neogene non-marine Mollusca from the Denizli Basin. Oppenheim himself wrote in the work that the material is deposited in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, but it can't be found there. It couldn't be located in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, storing large parts of Oppenheim's collection, either.
Does anyone know of other places that stores parts of Oppenheim's types?

How do I perform Turkey post-hoc test (for multiple comparisons) using linear mixed effect model with random (subjects) and fixed effects (3 interventions [groups], 3 repeated measures [time]) in SPSS?
SPSS has options for LSD, Bonferonni and Sidak only
Relevant answer
Answer
I think the Bonferonni adjustment is probably too conservative for pairwise comparisons with only three means. The Fisher's LSD will be more powerful (at least in cases where the omnibus F test is significant as that's the only mechanism for FW error control in the LSD case). Bonferonni and Sidak don't require that omnibus F test is significant (and doing so will make them even more conservative).

For a study that I intend to make a country-based comparison of the legal regulations on the protection of agricultural lands, I examined three examples from Turkey, Germany, and United Kingdom, but I would like to extend these examples.
I'm also quite curious about examples from developing countries that continue this process with a variety of policies and regulations would be great.
Relevant answer
Answer
Protection of agricultural land in China relies more on government control than on legal regulation. In general, rule of law is much weaker than political control in China. So, if you want to study cases from developing countries, you need to go beyond legal regulations. Political control, clan, customs, etc. are very important in those countries.

It is my observation that RG lists name of each regular department at each university heading. But, there are some departments that are not similar in each country. One example is "Department of Public Finance". This field is organized as a separate department in Turkey. In US, it is not named a separate department. It is a part in department of economics. It may have different structure in different countries.
My point here is that those public finance scholars look for their department listing, and have no option to list their name. Some of them put their names on similar department listing such as department of economics or department of finance.
How to correct this technical issue? Suggestions?, thoughts?

The mineral deposits of the Balkan Peninsula and western Turkey are bound to modern fold belts such as the Carpathians, Dinarides, Balkanides, Hellenides, and Pontides separated by large intermountain basins, e.g., the Pannonian Basin and bordering small basement structures such as the Dobrudja Zone. In view of the vast outcrops of Mesozoic and Cenozoic rocks, unsurprisingly, the majority of mineral deposits are found in Cretaceous, Paleogene, and Neogene rocks. This SE European mineral province is known for its porphyry-type and epithermal silver and gold deposits, e.g., Rosia Montana, Romania, Bor, Serbia, Chelopech, Bulgaria, and Kisladag, Turkey. The metallogenic districts are also host to Pb-Cu-Zn deposits. Additionally, Fe-Mn- and bauxite deposits are still mined. This Special Issue is open for new ideas and models created for these classical ore deposits. First and foremost it will be a forum for research on mineral deposits irrespective of their economic importance as a deposit under exploitation for quite a long period of time or as a newly discovered site in the state of a mining project, such as the lithium-boron mineralization in the Jadar Basin, Serbia. Even if some of the non-metallic mineral assemblages in sedimentary and igneous host rocks have not yet come under the spotlight of mining engineers and entrepreneurs they may be suitable targets for new genetic models and element concentrations hitherto not known from such lithologies. The following keywords should give an idea of the topics of interest for this Special Issue in view of the current and future technologies is given below:
  • Clay minerals,
  • Sand and placers,
  • REE-U-Th mineralization,
  • Nb-Ta- Ge-In-Ga-Se concentrations,
  • PGE mineralization.
Unconventional resources in uncommon environments should be the central theme of this volume. New ideas may be presented as a review or a research paper.

I have whole rock mantle peridotite (harzburgite and dunite) analyse results (ICP-ES) from ACME (Canada) and Academia Sinica (Taiwan). There are three samples problematic for me. I need to explain why these sample's Al2O3 (2.69-3.91 %wt.) contents are high but CaO contents (0.12-0.14) are low... What reason could increase Al2O3 and/or decrease CaO content?
Besides, Cr2O3 contents (4.5-6.3 %wt.) of these peridotites are also high than others. But compared to other samples, there is no significant difference in terms of the Al2O3 content of spinel (by mineral chemistry-EPMA).
How can the scenario be interpreted in this case?
Thanks in advance.
Mustafa
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Mustafa,
if you are dealing with peridotitic rocks you should, first of all, check your thin sections. Petrography can give more information than simple geochemical analyses. Probably these rocks are rich in orthopyroxene and poor in diopside. It is possible that a former garnet reacted with olivine forming an assemblage stable at lower pressures (e.g., during mantle exhumation) made up of opx+sp.
Coupled with this you can have the formation of metasomatic layers made up of orthopyroxenites whose origin could be related to interaction of SiO2-oversaturated melts with forsteritic olivine, leading to the formation of enstatite-rich metasomes. These SiO2-oversaturated melts can be formed as consequence of partial melting of eclogitic/pyroxenitic lithologies very common in the mantle. Their origin is related to portions of subducted slabs or to basaltic melts crystallized at high depths forming eclogitic assemblages (not basaltic, because plagioclase is not stable at P >1 GPa).
I hope this helps,
michele

Russia and Turkey's policies intersect at some point. In the events in Syria, in the perspective of various organizations in Syria, in the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Europe, these intersections are experienced in the energy lines. The downing of Russia's plane and the killing of its ambassador did not break relations. Be a member of NATO, Turkey does not adversely affect relations with Russia. Russia-Turkey relations will be shaped by how the process next time?

Complicated, but as neighbours they should cooperate more instead of killing ambassadors and downing planes. After all the respective governments should represent their people on both sides.People don't want war, they prefer peace.

TWF was established by a code number 6741 in 2016. Turkey handed over the precious public companies that fund by executive decision. What's really interesting is that TWF's chairman of the board and, the person who appointed the auditors is President of the Turkey. Besides, TWF depends on presidency in terms of administrative law and TWF's vice chairman of the board is Minister of Finance who son-in-law of the president. Is there another sovereign wealth fund in which the president is so active? I know that there are similar situations in Arab countries, China and Russia. But I don't know if there is a sovereign wealth fund managed directly by the president.Currently, TWF which does not currently have much activity, in later times, under these circumstances, it would be beneficial to Turkey?

Hi!
Currently I am analyzing my data and I've got some results of which I don't know what to do with it. I've tested whipped cream on whipping time at three different moments: day 0, day 1 and day 2 (three different groups). Therefore I used a one-way ANOVA test to analyze if there's a difference between the means of the groups. This test is significant, however, when I use a Post Hoc test to analyze which groups differ, these results are all insignificant. The variances are equal so I used the Turkey test (but any other test I can use in my program give the same insignificant results).
I think this is because the ANOVA may give a type I error (incorrect rejection of the H0 hypothesis that there's no difference between the groups) and the Post-Hoc can do a more reliable analysis between the groups. But I don't know exactly how it works.
Does somebody might know how to draw a clear conclusion from these results! I would be very grateful for any help you can provide!
Relevant answer
Answer
In order to support your explanation, I think that you must be sure that the ANOVA meets the assumptions. That gives you a guarantee about the inferences in your analysis. If the answer goes to the right way, to support your conclusions, you must calculate the power of your ANOVA. This will be an objective answer to concluded about your analysis

Since Turkey is located in the Mediterranean macroclimate region in the sub-tropical zone, great rainfall variations can be seen between the years. at the north part, extreme rainfall and flood hazards and at the south and south-west part overheating are among main problems. However, the severity and of these variations is different from region to region. how can we define the most risky region, which its built heritage will be affected more in terms of future climate change?
Relevant answer
Answer
This is a multi-factor problem. Good question, but the answer is not so simple
You'll have to model each (sub-region) individually for future effects of rainfall and temperature ranges but also look at wind patterns and storm events.
You will then need to look at the heritage stock and assess how the building fabric responds to the new (modelled) climatic realities. You can do so by looking at the performance and response to climatic events over the past 30 years . Look at the extreme events and possibly use them as new normal.
The next issue will be the state of the heritage assets and the funding that currently goes into maintenance, both private funding for private buildings and public monies for community-owned assets. What is the trend here? That trend can be forward projected.
You will then also need to take into account the projected impact of climate change on the economic capacity of the private citizens and of the local governments. That will vary from region to region, but will have an impact on the future capacity and willingness to pay for repairs.
When you have all of this in hand, you ned to develop a set of evaluation criteria with relative weighting , which then provide you with a numeric value of future risk that incorporates environmnetal and socio-economic factors.

Hello!
When I searched on the net I found out that the whole Bible has been translated into Geez / Classical Ethiopic before 6. Century AD. But unfourtunately I could not reach to such a translation of Bible anywhere. Dilmann’s translation is available but this is ofcourse a new one. So, is it possible to reach to the ancient Geez translation of Bible which had been made before sixth century AD or not. And does such a translation exist still or is it perished/lost?
If anyone could reply my question I would be very happy …

For this reason, in order to get expert opinion and to correct my mistakes, I needed to apply to the opinions of management and organization experts. I think that it would be helpful and necessary to take your opinions about my work which I have explained below. Thank you in advance for your valuable time and contribution.
System, environment, strategy and dialectical method are assumed to be important independent variables in the solution of management problems. At the same time, it is important questions to what extent management gives importance to these concepts, which are independent variables of strategic management, and to what extent they have a positive attitude. The success of management in modern theories; knowledge of these concepts, consciousness, depends on believing in the necessity of these concepts. İn my thesis I want to examine to what extent they give importance to these variables work in different types and sizes of organizations in Turkey. I aim to investigate the level of consciousness and attitudes towards these concepts. It is therefore necessary to develop a scale.

I am working on a panel data modeling research aiming to find labor force dynamics which are affecting employment of young newly graduated women engineers in Turkey. We employed the latest Labor Force Survey to build our model, however as you would realize, for country level inferences Turkstat provides weights for each observation, each observation represent a specific share of the Turkish population. However after filtering all female, young, new graduates, who have an engineering degree and works in a role related to engineering my sample fell to 726 from 370,000. From that point I think I am no longer trying to make an inference on Turkish population and should I keep using weights in modeling and discussion part? Or should I treat data as an ordinary random sampled survey and give the same weight for each individual.
Relevant answer
Answer
One thing to keep in mind is that you can't use the original sampling weights anymore, since you excluded 370,000-726 observations from the original data set, so the the original sampling weights are no longer valid. Calculating new sampling weights for your sub-sample would be very hard to do. Also, when and why to use sampling weights, i found this very useful: https://blogs.worldbank.org/impactevaluations/tools-of-the-trade-when-to-use-those-sample-weights

Basrah city is the point where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers unite into the Shatt al-Arab. In recent times, the city has been facing a serious fresh water shortage due to a decreasing river level, which resulted in salt water intrusion. The salinity levels of the Shatt al-Arab increased more than fifteen-fold in the last year, as total dissolve solids, which measures water purity, increased from approximately 10000 to more than 28000 ppm. Although there are several causes related to this issue, the problems started in the 1990s as Turkey built several dams on the Euphrates river. As part of its GAP project, Turkey is now finishing the construction of the Ilisu dam on the Tigris river, which will have a huge impact on Iraq’s water provision. It will reduce fresh water levels in Tigris river by 25%. This impact will be mostly felt at the downstream end of the river, at which lies Basrah.

Answer
Dear Hussein,
the question you are asking is the same that is asked in many parts of the world - and unfortunately there is no simple answer.
In an ideal world both countries (or, in a more general term, both parties involved - the upstream and the downstream water users) would get together and discuss a sustainable water resource management plan (IWRM) that takes all water demands (as well as ecological requirements) into consideration. This is already difficult enough if both parties are neighoring regions within the same countries. Adding the transboundary character to this problem makes this theroretical solution highly unlikey. There are best case examples like the International Commision for the Protection of the Rhine (or the similar commission for the Danube), but those examples are not loated in arid regions, where the pressure on the limited water resources is so much higher. The commission for saving the Aral Sea tries for decades to solve this problem and sinks millions of dollars into this venture, without much results...
So, let's assume that the reduced water availablity will be a given, what are the remaining options?
1. Reduce the overall water demand - by increasing the water use efficiency (water saving technologies, drip irrigation evaporation control, less water demanding crop types, improving the water infrastructure to reduce water losses etc.).
2. Make the most of the available water resources by reusing/recycling the water several times (desalinization, improved waste water treatment, effective grey water management etc.).
A combination of both options will be most successful. Unfortunately, both options require large investments in terms of money (infrastructure, technological know-how and innovation, long-term education) and political agenda (proper implemenatuion of top-down and bottom-up management approaches, shareholder involvement etc.).
It is not an easy way, but it might be the only one - and it can lead to a more sustainable resource management overall (with positive side effects on the ecology, soil fertility and even economic development).

While, there is another opinion that Turkish business leaders believe that an Iran unbound by such restrictions would become a rapidly growing export market for Turkish goods and services as well as a fertile field for investment. According to an industrialist familiar with Turkey’s economic relations with Iran, an end to the sanctions regime could open the way for exports of Turkish goods and services to Iran worth more than $90 billion in the medium term. Additionally, the ability to import more of its energy from Iran would reduce some of the squeeze of Turkey’s current dependence on Russia, especially in the gas sector.

Under Trump America is interfering in all aspects of trade and social issues is destroying many years of hard fought peace since the end of World War 1
and 2. Since then United Nations, NATO, World Bank, WTO etc have in their own way created an international set of standards that, although influenced by the big countries, still allows for discipline, control and compliance that should apply to all nations. Now America under Trump is setting its own agenda where the Stock Exchanges are the key indicators.
People are more important than money that is in the hands of very few.
My view is that China is showing how it should be done and USA how it should not be done. The Trade War may well trigger a more catastrophic war so beware. Turkey and Iran are pawns in the game US and others are playing dangerously. Pray for Peace through Friendship.

Anticoagulants and preservative solutions for RBCs are
  • ACD

  • SAGM,
In these solutions you can store the RBCs at 4 degree temperature upto 42 days.
If you want to store more than that it is possible only in minus temperatures . For that you have glyceranized ( Wash & suspend in glycerol) the RBC and store at minus temperature as much time as you like
