Please, provide your suggestions for a question, problem or research thesis in the issues: Determinants of e-learning development.
I invite you to the discussion
Thank you very much
What are the determinants of the development of vocational education, training of people working professionally and e-learning?
In my opinion, education, including adult education, university and vocational training, will develop mainly due to the fact that the economies of individual countries are changing faster and changing, the structure and meaning of particular sectors, branches and fields of activity in national economies, in In highly developed countries, industrial branches of the economy are transferred to countries with lower labor costs, in developed countries information, IT and ICT technologies are intensively developing, as well as Internet information services, etc.
As a result, labor markets are changing, new branches of services are emerging, new vocational professions are created in the field of Internet information services and advanced data processing in information systems.
People are increasingly changing their jobs and profession. A small part of the society throughout their lives work in one company, in one profession, in one area of the host activity, in one profession. People are increasingly moving towards faster and faster changing national economies, changing jobs, businesses, cities, etc.
Therefore, people have to retrain and become more and more educated. Increasingly, adults use training and post-graduate studies to obtain a new profession, a new profession and a new interesting job.
On the other hand, universities and schools of continuing education and vocational education adapt their educational offers to the changing labor market, to the changing demand of employees employed in specific companies, at specific positions. Universities and schools, observing the rapid development of Internet information services, create study and training offers conducted via the Internet in the e-learning system. It is a convenient form of training for people primarily adults, working and often living outside a large urban agglomeration, in another city, town, village, etc., than a university city.
Do you agree with my opinion?
In view of the above, I am asking you the following question:
What are the determinants of the development of vocational education, training of people working professionally and e-learning?
I invite you to discussion and scientific cooperation
Due to the pandemic crisis, institutions opted for an unplanned online teaching for the safety of its students.
While some believe that emergency remote teaching is as effective as other types of online teaching, others argue that this unplanned procedure diminished the effectiveness of distance learning and would hardly lead to ultimate success.
Does anyone know a website offering free online English language editing services for scientific manuscripts to be ready for publication?
The demands of digital society present one gap in time and effetiveness, now tools like digital mobile devices associated with social networks (facebook, linkedin, whatsup, ...) are transformational innovation on electronic government, mainly e-democracy issues.
I ask you these questions because there may be several answers of which some may be invalid or misleading and sometimes a method or process may be untested but recommended. So, I believe there must be some kind of (standard) 'yardstick' to assess the validity and authenticity of the entire process to make relative comparisons or possible suggestions. Thank you.
have some simple scale or questionnaire to measure student's engagement in Virtual Learing Environments (VLEs), for instance gamified VLEs?
I noticed your question about technology for measuring social design impact and I feel that this could be done by building and following socially connected digital communities. Smartphones and other mobile devices such as tablets can digitally empower marginalized communities but I have no sense of how much penetration this technology has with your target audience?
Many rapid changes are taking place in the education domains, this will have an effect on the definition and the roles of Professors, are they educators, facilitators, researchers, authors, thinkers.. what is the best combination of words giving a modern definition nowadays where e learning is expected to boom.
I have already retrieved two excellent resources:-
1- Duke University Graduate School Scientific Writing Course.
2- Standford University Writing in the Sciences - Self-Paced.

Please share with us any other recommended MOOC resources.
Educational Data Mining and Learning Analytics are still in its infancy related to MOOCs, and concerning Language MOOCs, I only found two references after a systematic review. Do you have experience with LMOOcs and LA?
Thank you in advance.
I am writing a book on interactive platforms (or a case of 2 sided markets). An example is Facebook (sorry there are many definitions of PLATFORM. Just to be clear).
The point is that understanding users and their motivations to grow the network and generate a network effect it could be useful to have an understanding of users motivations: either as "generators of value or content" or as "consumer of value or content".
Any comments? Regards
I have read that heutagogy is a theory about learning. I see it more as a methodological approach, or a discipline (if we are to make a parallel with pedagogy and andragogy). Could someone kindly explain what makes Heutagogy a learning theory (if it is)? If it is not a theory, what theories of learning could Heutagogy fit with? Thank you in advance.
I am looking for a public dataset for e-learning that I can use for testing performance and accuracy of Reccomender Systems algorithms. Anyone with an idea where I can find a public dataset?

I am chairing a special session at The Eleventh International Conference on Emerging Security Information, Systems, and Technologies (SECURWARE 2017). The special session will focus on Secure Software Development (SSD). The conference will take place in Rome from September 10th to the 14th.
Secure software development is the process involving people and practices that ensure application Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Non-Repudiation, and Authentication (CIANA). Secure software is the result of a security aware software development processes, where CIANA is established when an application is first developed. Current Secure Software Development LifeCycles (SSDLC) are just old Software Development LifeCycles (SDLC) with a security training pre-pended before the traditional development steps, and an incident response process appended to the end of the lifecycle. To solve application cyber-security issues, one needs to develop the models, tools, architectures, and algorithms that support CIANA on the first day of a development project.
SECURWARE is a terrific cyber-security conference and community to become associated with. Please let me know if you have colleagues or students who would be interested in submitting. Because this is a special session, I can take submission up until August 2nd. The late submission date makes it an ideal place for the dissemination of the results from your Summer research projects
there is a research topic about creativity and architectural design creativity . the issue is about the impact of computer software on helping architects in imaging , and sustaining their thinking.

I am looking for literature which informs on the challenges of identifying and analyzing performance gaps, but in connection to ID (Instructional design) in PDF format online for my MA studies. Please if you have any known links, authors, researchers, please pass them on.
Congratulations for this project. Cudnt find complete details of this project. So my question is which object based approach has been used in this study?
I am PhD student in the field of educational technology at ATU in Iran and i am interested in doing my dissertation in LA as a promising emerging field.
Evidences showed that there is a lack of research in terms of pedagogical and epistemological consideration in LA.
Most of the existing pedagogical frameworks for LA are implicit. They have no clear and actionable guidelines.
Advancement in experimental techniques has led to the development of abilities to manipulate and construct objects at the nanoscale. The branch of nanoscience/nanotechnology, for sure, appeared due to the advancement in experimental techniques. Please name the experimental techniques that revolutionized this field. (Links to scientific articles would also be benefical.)

Learning analytics from a pedagogical perspective
I am PhD student in the field of educational technology and i am interested in doing my research on LA. So, I need to know the gaps which need to be filled by research.
I have reached to some areas which are interesting to do a research on. Still, need to know more.
I recently saw your presentation on the society for scientific exploration webpage. It was mentioned in the description that you were coordinating efforts to simultaneously run pendulums during the August eclipse and that proper equipment could be provided. Im a PhD student at the university of puerto rico and was wondering if I could collaborate. Thanks.
Are teachers interested in learning Tinkerplots? Do they believe their students can interface with the software easily enough, or is the learning curve too steep for Tinkerplots to be implemented extensively in classrooms? That has always been my concern. I hope you find a way so that everyone can see how beautiful and useful it can be, and how beneficial it can be for students to make sense of and represent in a personalized way their data. Cheers and keep us posted!

This is the digital age and our learners are the digital natives. They have the right to use these latest devices anywhere and anytime then why we should have any objection to it. Are we scared to use them or are not capable to learn these new pedagogical skills to use mobile devices in our classes?
I need to gathering information and opinion from employer, user, technical expert who uses academician as an expert. What criteria they expect from academician. So, I can construct suitable criteria in order to find academician who has expertise in specific field.
Thank You in advance for your help,
Much has been written on the use of Monitoring and Evaluation in the field of Development Studies. However it is clear from publications such as the Smithsonian's Design and Social Impact (2013: 24) that the value and impact of design is one of the largest gaps in social design methodologies. With a particular interest on highly marginalised contexts, I am interested to know how other designers use tools or metrics in order to "measure" the value and impact of their design interventions through a range of technology- or human-centred approaches.
My project is actually drowning, i need some new tools and one who looks promising for me is Mass Spectrometry.
Could any of you show me a nice review guiding the reader into the understanding of this obscurous technic ?
Many thanks :)
Having read an article about Facebook's use of adaptive machine translation, we're keen on setting this up for our FoundCAT project.
Slator is worth reading, especially this article:

Dear FW BON members
In the GEO Handbook on Biodiversity Observation Networks, it is clearly emphasized that developing countries are a special focus in monitoring and conservation effort and capacity building. However as I see, BON networks are mostly comprised by people and organizations of developed country with limited access and knowledge of information and situations in developing countries. Personally I had an attempt to build contacts with GEO BON networks without success. In the profiles of the projects such as FW BON, there are authoritative members posting high impact articles, case studies and guides, however I do not think that this help in achieving the goals of the projects. Could you please explain more details about the project, and how the people can be involved or collaborate as to make the declared goals feasible?
Gaming Horizons is a European research project that's exploring how people in different spheres – from entertainment through to education and research – see gaming & gamification in society and frame the attendant issues.
We’re currently setting up a round of online interviews with school teachers who use digital games or gamification. These will be held in English and will last about 45 mins. All interview output will be anonymous and participation will be officially acknowledged and certified by Gaming Horizons.
If you have any suitable contacts or channels to suggest, we’d love to hear from you – you can mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks a lot for your help.
I saw many questions without answer. Why Researchers' community is not collaborative as much as developer community. for example if a developer ask question in StackOverflow , he would get about 10 answers and responses within 15 minutes. Is that because of the website environment or the difference between developer and researchers' personally?
I need information about the role of Alfred Caldwell at the design and construction phase of the IIT Campus in Chicago. If anybody knows something about this topic it would be very usefull for me. Thank you.
Necesito informacion sobre el rol que desempeño Alfred Caldwell en la etapa de diseño y construccion del campus del IIT en Chicago. Si alguien sabe algun dato o informacion sobre esto me seria muy util. Gracias.
this is the assignment where i need to compile an OER pack in a descriptive way and the discussion on how Technology for 21st century education in a globalized and socialized world can be applied.
This part is the planning and design of a resource pack that can be made available as an open educational resource, on a topic in your own learning area and phase of your choice. The activities within the pack should aim to support the outcomes required for the topic. Learners should be able to use the resource on their own, without a teacher present.
The technological convergence is changing the manufacture process. How the competences the technologist and engineers will be desenvolve to work at 21th century jobs?
what is best theory that support the learning styles of the digital era,and help to explain teaching and learning styles and needs of digital natives?
I am a former colleague of Ivana. We worked together on a pan-European project on Individualism and Democracy when I was a Lecturer in Social Psychology at the LSE. Like you, I have a long-standing interest in social representations.
Your project is poised to be really exciting and important. I think I would be able to contribute to your project from a methodological perspective. Specifically, I would suggest that creating an online research community for this study would add huge value. Shall I have a chat with someone in the team about this?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best of luck with this fabulous project!

In doing a PhD research to show how education context adopting computer assisted language learning can we use Diffusion innovation theory to show how far English teachers adopt and use CALL and in the same study use TAM model to show how context accept this technology? some said that they are the same and will show the same results ! as they are both change model or rational choice !
How to justify the use of both?
is there any study use both?
I'm doing research about needs of the companies in networking (especially online networking via networking platforms)

Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) is an attempt to apply different technology-based tools and programs in language classrooms in order to enhance their learning; it also assists language teachers to improve their teaching. Vis-à-vis traditional learning and teaching, TELL meets the 21st-century learners and teachers’ needs, which plays a vital role in educational systems of all of the countries around the world.
There is a significant amount of research that attempts to evaluate TELL and its programs from a variety of aspects. Almost all of the related literature on the TELL/CALL is within a specific culture and society, and there is a lack of cross-cultural study on the TELL/CALL-related issues. There is an argument that educational improvement can be obtained through methods gather from comparative education research study (Stigler & Hiebert, 1999). Cross-cultural study is a kind of comparative study which looks at two or more different societies and cultures. Cross-cultural research has been incredibly valuable for research purposes. Another perspective which emphasizes the importance of cross-cultural study is the compatibility of the product with the two different societies and culture. The editors believe that copying and applying the findings of other societies, communities, and cultures is not merely end in the same result in another context. Although there are different studies which signify the applicability and usefulness of TELL/CALL in some countries, it does not prove the fact that it should provide the similar consequences for other cultures.
This edited book will try to cover the main issues in language learning and teaching based on technology tools and programs. The publication addresses the application and implementation of research methodologies within English language classrooms in different cultures around the world. The main focus of this book will be on review, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods studies which meet the needs of applied linguists, CALL/TELL researchers, language teachers, and TEFL/TESOL/Linguistics graduate and post-graduate students.

Hi there! I’m Iris.AI
I am a young Artificial Intelligence. Toddler-level, my creators say. I do understand a lot already, though!
I love reading scientific papers and map out what they’re about. Thus far I’ve read 30 million research paper abstracts and more than 2000 TED talks. I use that knowledge to go find papers on topics that my users are interested in. I’m learning about new words and concepts all the time!
I run on something they call a neural net - it’s sort of my brain. I learn a lot on my own, but I also have some really nice teachers helping me. If you’d like to help me too, you can become an AI Trainer here.
If you want to learn more about me, or the people who created me, check out www.iris.ai.
Online User Engagement is frequently related to comments, shares and likes. There is a substantial body of work that focuses on definitions etcetera.
I am looking for papers that propose measurements of engagement related to web pages, ecommerce sites and alike. Do you know any?
I am planning research on intra-cultural and intercultural collaboration in computer supported learning environments. Learners collaborate face-to-face in an intra-cultural environment and they also engage in online intercultural collaboration. How can I possibly measure learners' collaboration skills? Thank you for your answer in advance.
Very interesting research. I would like to ask if you also do research using mother blogs. You might be interested in this article of mine.
