I'm reading up on cacao pollination and I'm having some difficulties accessing some of the older papers. Does anyone know of an online access to the papers of Revista Theobroma and Café, Cacao, Thé? That would be particularly helpful.

I have been working with cacao (Theobroma cacao) crops and the small scale farmers in developing countries cannot access to the Cd analytical extraction methods for Cd detection in soils due to their cost.
Is there a way to design a bio-indicator to detect Cd in soils as a good approximation of the analytical methods? Or is it possible to detect Cd in soils with a colorimetric method?
Is the cadmium uptake in cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) greater as the tree grows? I am planning to develop a pot experiment with cacao seedlings and I will evaluate Cd just in leaves after 90 days. I am not sure if I can extrapolate my results to a tree. Thanks.

Now I am busy with the isolation genomic DNA from the chocolate, but the results is very poor, the DNA elution is lightly yellow and no target band can been seen by the agarose gel. How to deal with the though question? Do the every member of the researchgate have a ideal method to resolve the problem?

The research aims to find some alternative use for the shell of the cocoa ( Theobroma cacao) except sweat for composting.
I have been trying to isolate endophytes from cacao leaves, however I cannot find a protocol that work. At first I though that my desinfection protocol was to harsh, so now I am working with 1min etanol 70%, sodium hypochlorite 2% 1 min, and three rinses in distiled water. When I inoculate the desinfected leaves in Nutriente Agar, there is no growth so my desinfection protocol its ok.
Then I have been testing different protocols. I have macerated the leaves in phosphate buffer, in saline water 0,5% and in peptone water. I have also used Nutrient Agar, TSA, and solid LB. None has worked. Can anyone give me an idea about what could it be?

I am using Mc Phail trap for midges in cocoa with rose water as bait but it seems not attractive as I expected. so, I want to find out another bait to trp more midges.
