Hello everyone,
I am currently working on energy management in micro grids using agents. I have already implemented my testbed under matlab/simulink, and now I am working with jade.
I need please your suggestions concerning the connection between simulink and jade. I had a look at Macsimjx tool, however it requires Jade version 3.6.1, can anyone provide me with a link to download this version? or any other suggestion to help me with the connection?
Thank you very much

I am writing a paper on CHP-PV based microgrid. we have a testbed and functional MG.
1. What are the technical aspects I can cover for that MG?
2. I have already done the economic feasibility analysis using HOMER. How can I correlate the economic feasibility analysis with the power system analysis ?
Your answers and experience are highly appreciated.

I want to analyze various network parameters like average power consumption, network convergence time, average packet drops, etc. The protocols are implemented on real test bed (motes). I am not sure how to analyze these protocols. Is it possible to analyze the WSN based on real-hardware based testbeds using MATLAB?

Dear Researchers,
I do research in the domain of electric vehicle testbeds. Therefore i am interested in already existing ontologies in the automotive domain. If you know good scientific books and papers giving a deep insight in the domain it would also help a lot.
Thank you for your support!

One reviewer said that: Experiments are presented assuming nonlinear friction, however there is not any evidence of what type of such friction is presented in the testbed? Then, authors must characterize the nonlinear friction and present and analyze the friction that is present in this robot.
How can I respond to this? how to prove what type of friction it is in the testbed?
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi,
It depends on the kind of testbed that you are using. then you can surf the website of the company that manufacture this testbed for the datasheet and look for the technical specifications of this testbed. Or, from my own perspective, you can model the friction using multiple formulas of friction, starting from Coulomb friction to the friction magic formula.
fro more information on Coulomb friction modeling, take a look at the simulation section of my paper:

Data set should be related to smart grid implementation in the power industry using DNP3 protocol. The environment could be real or it could be a large testbed setup.

You can request access to SCADA data from Steppa Cyber (steppa.ca) security lab. The team has built a platform to provide real-time SCADA intelligence, you can download feeds on a daily basis and in different format (e.g., pcaps, json, logs, etc.). Several SCADA services are included including DNP, DNP3 and Modbus. The data comes from hundreds of countries, the sensors are deployed in at least 7 countries. It is real stuff. A free version for academia is available and you can get access within 24 hours. Contact Steppa Cyber if you want to learn more. There are already several research and operation institutions involved in this project. I hope this can help.

Dear all,
I am a Master's student. I am researching about a distributed computing. Long story short, I suggest a fault-tolerant distributed computing as an alternative to centralized computing  against network instability.
Could anyone give me useful advice for the following questions:
  1. How do I design an experiment as a proof of concept?
  2. How do I evaluate the designed system against network instability to show some advantages of distributed system over centralize system.
  3. How do I produce the results of my evaluation?
Note: I am familiar with OSS and I am an intermediate programmer familiar with Java and python. However, I prefer to work with Python.
Relevant answer
Answer
I think you are having a clear idea of what you need to do and searching for how to simulate this.
May be creating a distributed environment with facility of some sort of message transfer using any kind of topology is the first step that you may take in order to simulate your idea.
Since, I am also working on commit protocols in distributed real time database systems, based on my experiences, after doing this you will be in a situation to really decide that what is needed what step you should take to complete your task.
For environment purpose, I am attaching two papers that may be useful to you.

Hello guys, I seek for an instrumentation book which focuses on mobile robot test design and measurment systems.
I've studied principles in instrumentation since I was undergraduate student. I am trying to design TestBeds mostly used loadcells. till know I've design and manufacture two of them and face many problems. I seek for design patterns and recommendations and how to use configuration of sensors and what are most important concerns.
You know when you rigid a mobile robot you make it to stand and some dynamics are changed so we seek for that?
I hope I can clear and eluminate what I think

I want to buy a testbed to study directional communication. The scenario is air-to-ground and air-to-air communication. The distance is about 300 kilometers. But I am not familiar with the RF hardware. Who can introduce me a suite of directional antennas which can fill the requirement?
Relevant answer
Answer
So by testing platform, you're actually looking for someone's pre-made beamforming antenna system that you can control from your MAC, as opposed to a system for testing the resulting beam forming that's generated.  I can help you on the latter, and while I've known a few companies developing products for Wi-Fi in early stages of the game, I haven't kept up with who's doing that sort of thing now.  I'd suspect with the advent of MIMO that most are integrating beamforming using the same antenna array, so the stand-alone beam forming arrays probably faded away somewhat.

I want to set up testbed environment, that consists of two machines and one switch between them.
First machine: ubuntu running tcpreplay that will replay pcap dataset files to the second machine.
Second machine: ubuntu running traffic analysis software (Bro), it will receive the traffic from the first machine through switch.
The questions is what is the best way to let the switch sends all packets to the second machine?

Hi ... u need tapping system . If U dont have one , U can make one by using mikrotik switch or Cisco switch and from the setting make one of their ports as Mirror Port it will send all the traffic to that mirror port then U can connect your monitoring device to that port. U can buid one if you dont have a mikrotic or cisco by using Vyatta linux destrubution , Its more powerful than those but U w'll need pc with three ethernet ports. I hope that help
