As the COO of a multinational operation, you must have a lot of experience working across cultures. Others may want to know how you manage cross-cultural teams, especially when it comes to coordinating operations and strategy on a global scale.
BIM offers essential support for contractors throughout various work stages, enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and profitability. Here’s how BIM can assist you:
1. Planning and Visualization:
Visualize the Project: A 3D BIM model allows you to see the entire project before construction starts, helping you understand design intent, identify potential issues, and plan effectively.
Simulate Construction (4D BIM): By connecting the model to a schedule, 4D BIM simulations depict the construction timeline, allowing you to:
- Optimize workflows: Identify bottlenecks, refine logistics, and enhance efficiency.
- Improve trade coordination: Ensure that all teams work from the same data to reduce conflicts.
- Communicate clearly: Convey the construction plan to stakeholders, including owners and subcontractors.
2. Coordination and Clash Detection:
Detect Clashes: BIM software automatically identifies clashes between building systems, helping avoid costly rework.
Coordinate with Subcontractors: Sharing the BIM model ensures all parties have consistent information, facilitating early resolution of issues.
3. Quantity Takeoff and Cost Estimation (5D BIM):
Accurate Quantities: BIM provides precise quantities of materials, labor, and equipment, leading to:
- Reduced cost overruns: More accurate estimates lower the risk of bidding too low.
- Improved bidding: BIM-based takeoffs enhance competitiveness.
Track Costs: 5D BIM links cost data to the model to:
- Monitor real-time costs: Spot potential overruns early.
- Analyze design changes: Quickly assess financial impacts of revisions.
4. Prefabrication and Modular Construction:
Design for Fabrication: BIM aids in designing components for off-site fabrication, enhancing efficiency and quality.
Precision Assembly: Accurate BIM data ensures seamless integration of prefabricated components, reducing installation time and rework.
Support Lean Construction: Prefabrication aligns with lean principles, facilitated by BIM data and coordination.
5. Site Management and Communication:
Access Information On-Site: Mobile BIM apps provide workers with real-time model access, reducing reliance on paper and enhancing office-field communication.
Track Progress: Use BIM to monitor construction progress, manage materials, and maintain schedules.
Field Layout: BIM data enables precise layout execution using total stations, laser scanners, or augmented reality.
6. Handover and Facility Management:
As-Built Model: Deliver an as-built BIM model to the owner, creating a complete digital record for future maintenance, adding value to your services over competitors.
7. BIM-Enabled Process Change:
Leaner Construction: BIM promotes lean techniques by:
- Reducing waste: Minimizes rework, delays, and material waste.
- Improving workflow: Facilitates smoother construction processes.
- Enhancing communication: Strengthens collaboration among project teams and subcontractors.
Paperless Construction: BIM advances the industry toward a paperless environment, improving information accuracy and reducing reliance on drawings.
What new occupations, professional professions, specialties in the workforce are being created or will soon be created in connection with the development of generative artificial intelligence applications?
The recent rapid development of generative artificial intelligence applications is increasingly changing labor markets. The development of generative artificial intelligence applications is increasing the scale of objectification of work performed within various professions. On the one hand, generative artificial intelligence technologies are finding more and more applications in companies, enterprises and institutions increasing the efficiency of certain business processes supporting employees working in various positions. However, there are increasing considerations about the possibility of black scenarios coming true in futurological projections suggesting that in the future many jobs will be completely replaced by autonomic AI-equipped robots, androids or systems operating in cloud computing. On the other hand, in opposition to the black scenarios of future developments in labor markets are contrasted with more positive scenarios presenting futuristic projections of the development of labor markets, where new professions will be created thanks to the implementation of generative artificial intelligence technology into various aspects of economic activity. Which of these two scenarios will be realized to a greater extent in the future is currently not easy to predict precisely.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
What new professions, professional occupations, specialties in the workforce are being created or will soon be created in connection with the development of generative artificial intelligence applications?
What new professions will soon be created in connection with the development of generative artificial intelligence applications?

Hello,
I hope this serious message "call for collaboration" could successfully reach the right professors and/ or funders, both in academic and industrial fields, who are really interested in the research area of "Biomass of Natural Fibers" and thier beneficial effect on a diversity of industrial engineering applications.
Recently, I was deeply involved in the mentioned research area and I have a particular contribution in a project closely related to that mentioned in the above title. To be comprehensive, I’m really willing to lead a research team or join a brilliant team by working under a leadership supervision of one of the esteemed professors in the mentioned research field. I will be so honered to transfer my experience earned from my latest successful project, and I’m sure that an aimful idea for establishing such a researching team work could be a very good step towards a prosperous future in making a multidesciplined progress in this research area and for opening many rooms for academics and indusrtial researchers who are interested in this field to have a prosperous future in thier career in line with the strategic sustainability development taking place worldwide and specifically in countries that are classified to be on popularized with thier agricultural development.
I’m willing to hear inspiring news and welcoming to any questions and feedback from all people who are interested in the idea by any way.

Often what we keep, it grows and what we give to others it reduces! Many times people by habit see own problems and benefits of others and expect opposite outcomes
We are considering moving to flex office and wonder whether this is applicable to research teams or students doing their PhD
Hello everybody! I wih my reserach team working on media storm concept in global news coverage. As it's generally understood, the virus spreads on droplets and other particles in the air and there are different estimations for the furthest distance this could travel. There are different factors that might be contributing to the distribution of this virus, like the local pressure and atmospheric conditions or perhaps temperature. I would like to know if anyone is working on these elements and introducing a model for the distribution of this virus.
Thanks a lot!!
We all like to work in a proper way and keeping the work level to be done with in the time frame of the research paper when a team work is a preferable. Sometimes your co-author is not in the mood or even not in his best times and may feel dispersed, on the other hand, you know he is a part of group work and his effort is needed!! Thus, as a researcher you have faced that for sure, and I would like to have your opinion and recommendations about it. So, please share your opinion through this discussion about your best experiences or your thoughts towards the subject. Your opinion will be recorded and effective and highly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Does the scientific community, including, of course, Research Gate, place greater value on scientific research published with multiple authors? Did great achievers, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein work alone and independently, or were they simply at the right place at the right moment in the history of science such that they were able to make their contributions to human knowledge because they managed to crystallize the research findings of the predecessors, colleagues, and team-mates? This trend toward collective team participation in research runs counter to the pattern of individual accomplishments in the world of literature, music, and the arts. How do you account for this seeming polarity and what consequences follow from it?
We need to move from virtual reality to real world again.

We the team is working on a project on " The evidence based study on the effect of cow urine on type-1 diabetic patients" since 2 years. We found lots of evidences done by the researcher earlier. But now we want some more technical researches for tHis. So all of you are requested to help us out.
Before, in my country and several countries was considered the first author more important than the corresponding author. Recently the situation has changed.
I believe that first author is usually carried out most of the practical part of the research and must be the correspondence author too. Co-authors do part of the work.
What is the difference between first and corresponding author? Can PhD students be a corresponding author?
Dear all respected researchers; kindly let me know your opinion.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Monica Robinson and I am currently working in the restaurant industry. On the consumer side of things, we are top 5 in casual dining, yet as employee's, we are not one of the top work places. The store I work at has been having a lot of issues due to the lack of team cohesion and the ability to be productive, which results in overall loss of productivity and efficiency as a whole.
One Manager Perspective
I spoke with one of my managers and her main issues with the situation:
- Policies and standards aren't being met
- Employee's are not utilizing controlling factors to help reduce waste
- GM of the store is not subject to change
- Lack of team meetings (fully loaded once per month meeting)
- Lack of understanding of restaurant goals
Two Employee Perspectives
I spoke with two employees and their main issues with the situation:
- Poor team work
- No accountability
- Rules and regulations not being met (with exception of corporate presence)
- Too much responsibility during peak hours
- Lack of compensation for multiple job descriptions being performed
- Lack of compensation plan
- Labor laws not being enforced
Self-Made Suggestion To Management
I suggested to one of my managers that we begin with a survey. The purpose is to understand the situation more clearly by understanding all employees (subordinates and manager's) attitudes, characteristics, and perspectives in the workplace.
Any Suggestions From You All?
I would love any suggestions as to where to begin the process.
Should we begin:
1. With some literature behind team cohesion and productivity within restaurants and then create objectives for our survey?
OR
2. Skip literature review and create a survey to determine attitudes, characteristics, and perspectives of all employees in the workforce?
Attached is a Questionnaire I used for a Research Proposal I needed for Research Methods, a course a couple semesters ago.
I planned on bringing this to my manager and seeing ways we could modify it to better fit our needs within the restaurant.
All comments and suggests are much appreciated. Thanks for participating and helping!
What are your suggestions or experience for development of student scientific associations?
Good afternoon,
I am working on my thesis on team work and I need to compare if teams differ when I adopt the rule 'at least 2 members of the team gave valid data' (19 teams in total), against the rule' at least 50% of the team members answered (17 teams in total)'. The team size is sometimes 12 members, so In order to take in consideration more teams for the research, I need to check this. If there is no significant difference in teams if both rules are applied in both rules, I would have more teams for the research if I adopt '>2 team members' rule.
I did add new data set with dummy variable, >50% vs >2 people responded. In that way most subjects overlap in the same data set. With this results I did not get significant difference.
But how justified is this analysis because it will be like repeated measures on independent T test? (I hope it makes sense:)
Or is there is another way to test this in SPSS?
Thank you all in advance,
Kindly regards,
Sonja V.
I'd like to add a translated text book which its translation has been done by me and other contributers , to my publication list of my CV.
I'm not sure about how could I reference that?
Shall I explain about the chapters that I translated?
Please give me some guidance in this regard.
Our team is working with EC-JRC on crowdsourcing of food price data across time, space, and market segments from volunteer crowd. We are interested in testing the performance of the crowdsourcing system that we have developed based on standard metrics or measure of performance. Is there any literature or research findings that has proposed standard thresholds to guide in assessing whether or not the crowdsourcing id successful (e.g. what level of crowd engagment will be considered as a success)??

Hello all can you help to complete my study survey as in the link,,, thank you in advance.
Research topic is (Project Management: How can the Leadership Skills of Project Managers and Team Work Lead to Achieve Project Success)
I do think team working on a subject leading to reliable results more faster than doing research by a single worker. What do you think?
Assume a team of 10 members including the team leader. If one member does not contribute, as desired, what would be its negative impact towards the deadline of completing the task ? Answer in % is advisable.
e.g.: 100% or <90% or <80% or <70% and so on....
Background - we played Jenga last night: you know, 54 pieces of wood stacked up on 18 levels one on another. You take the piece out and put it on top and so on. Building continues until the tower falls and the person causing it to fall loses.
Question: what is really a success? Starting with 18 levels you go up but is it better to win on level 24 or lose on level 31? It takes quite some effort and mastery to exceed level 30...
Well? What would you choose and why?
The questionnaire is going to be used for descriptive statistics. The parameters that are to be used are employee voice, technology usage, autonomy, team work, loyalty, motivation, monetary rewards etc. Do I need to test the reliability and validity of this kind of questionnaire.
now, I'm doing my work with self-sensing property of cement composites

Our team is working on investigating the rural-urban differences in children developmental outcomes in China(e.g., cognitive abilities, academic achievement and social adjustment). The primary analysis showed that compared with children who living in rural area, the urban children have better developmental outcomes. It seems reasonable since
children living in urban area have better SES and educational investment. However, there are few studies focused on these differences. My questions as followed,
Firstly, Are these differences also appear in the developed countries?
Secondly, what make these difference?

- For a project that me and my team is working on, we are using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018 (student license) for 3D modelling. We are working on NACA airfoils.
- I need to create an airfoil within an airfoil so that the thickness distribution is uniform at around (10/12/15)mm.
- To do this modelling, I've used two methods. Both of which isn't satisfactory. Please advice if using geometric center of airfoil is better than aerodynamic center. And how to find it. Please suggest any other method to get the uniform thickness distribution.
- Use a NACA 6415, c=600mm and NACA 6412, c=580mm. Superimpose their aerodynamic centers.
- The issue with this method is that thickness is more at Trailing Edge (TE) than at Leading Edge (LE).
- Use a NACA 6415, c=600mm and scale it down to 0.85 with respect to the aerodynamic center.
- Issue with this is that the thickness variation is too high.
I have attached a few images to help you understand my problem. Please advise.

Hi, I am attempting to study an intervention program. I need certain measurements to see if the intervention was effective. I want something that measures attitude towards teamwork, negative/positive thinking, and attitude towards productivity. I found other measurements for other constructs I'm measuring, but these are the only ones I am having trouble measuring. I have ideas for alternatives, but I would just like to see if anyone had ideas or knew of any measurement tools. Thank you so much.
We are a team working on evaluation of a medical information service provided for clinicians in hospitals. It is a rather new system in the field (just 2-year old) and we want to evaluate it for the first time. We need a well-designed end-user satisfaction questionnaire for this purpose. We have prepared our own list of questions, but a comparison with other tools will always be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

I am looking forward to find a relationship between imagery ability and group cohesion in sports. Just few articles talk about imagery and cohesion. How I should starts the study? I will use Sports imagery ability Questionnaire (SIAQ) and Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ). Is there any suggestion?
Group and team are very different from each other regarding to their objectives and the member's characteristics.
Group consist of people with different skills and objectives.
Team consist of people who share the same skills with the same objectives.
According to the question, I need on how both have an effect according to the contemporary organization objectives. Your perspective was appreciated.
Thanks

"Team work" is a requisite graduate attribute for most, if not all, universities across the world. Skills related to team work are embedded in group tasks that are intended to mimic or be a real-life work problem/task. How do you approach group task design in higher education to ensure the necessary team work skills are attained? How do you measure the three interrelated processes of task, team, and relationship?
Dear all, I am searching for a validated scale to assess the collaborative skills (team work skills). Any one can provide me with a complete version of such a scale?
Thanks in advance
I need to assess the ability to engage in complex activities or projects demanding an interdisciplinary approach.
I’m using the word “competency” to involve a three or at least a two dimensional construct regarding:
- Knowledge to recognize different but specialized fields of work, research and study of different disciplines.
- Attitude towards the contribution of different disciplines for complex problems solving and respect for their particular knowledge and practices.
- And probably some skills component involving Team Work (?).
Hi there,
my research concentrates on standardized processes in manual labour. Foremost I want to define standardized work in a more specific way.
Once I'm done with it I want to find out, if certain standard levels are connected to characterized levels of physical and psychological stress.
Therefore I need some guideance to find relevant papers, which connect standardized work in gerneral with physical or psychological stress.
I would be very grateful for any kind of help.
Best regards

Various studies have in the past established that lack of influence is tantamount to lack of leadership. Influence, refers to how an individual stimulates people's interest and passion to willingly strive towards achieving a common goal or desired state.
In the words of Bhatt 2012, he emphasized that true leadership cannot be awarded, appointed or assigned. It comes only from influence, and that can’t be mandated. It must be earned.
However, in some situations an individual finds him/herself in a situation to exert influence, and when he does, the group is not motivated, therefore unwilling to accept such approach to influence from that individual.
This brings me to the question;
How are challenging is it to lead a project or work in a project where the team members from different generations
The norm of reciprocity says that “people should help those who help them and, therefore, those whom you have helped have an obligation to help you”. The norm of reciprocity has been found to be present in every society (from animals to humans) and has been found to contribute to social system stability. However it has not been studied within the social context of sports. From personal experience (ex-professional cyclist) it has an important effect on team cohesion and my thesis on team mental toughness found that it is one of the characteristics of a mentally tough team. Therefore the question is whether reciprocity is a key variable affecting group dynamics within the sports context?
