the coding of sports TV channels contribute
to the audience's presence to follow the sporting event
Relevant answer
Answer
On the topic: What is the contribution of coding sports channels to the audience's attendance of the sporting event? In my opinion. First: I don't think there is a relationship between the two variables. The coding of sports channels is the main goal of profit, commercial or purely financial. It aims to increase the number of subscribers, not to increase the number of attendees in sports matches. Second: Increasing the number of attendance at matches is aimed at by other organizations or bodies directly related to sports clubs and sports bodies themselves. Third. We can know how far the two variables are from each other when we know that the pleasure of watching sports matches through specialized channels is a pleasure enjoyed by a special sports audience for spectators and fans of sports teams and sports tournaments who find their only pleasure in watching matches via TV channels. On the contrary, we find another audience of fans who find their pleasure in attending the matches directly and not watching them on television. finally. It's just my opinion only. I wish you success

I am looking at gender equality in sports media. I have collected two screen time measures from TV coverage of a sport event - one time for male athletes and one time for female athletes.
i am looking for a statistical test to give evidence that one gender is favoured. I assume I have to compare each genders time against the EXPECTED time given a 50/50 split (so male time + female time / 2), as this would be the time if no gender was favoured.
my first though was chi square? But I’m not sure that works because there’s really only one category. I am pregnant and so my brain is not working at the moment lol. I think the answer is really simple but I just can’t think of anything.

Some colleagues and I surveyed volunteers recently in relation to their involvement with an international Masters Games event in our State. The events took place in a rural/regional area. The volunteers received education and training about their involvement in this event and what outcomes they mainly envisaged from their volunteering. We think that we have some interesting quantitative findings supported by a smaller amount of qualitative (interviewing) data. I thought that I would consult the 'wisdom of the crowd' around essential reading/seminal research on this topic. Much of the research seems focused upon sports volunteering and the really big events - Summer and Winter Olympics, World Cups and Superbowls rather than smaller-scale events. Our focus is education and volunteering more than the more widely researched motivation of volunteers.

Developing countries suffer from poor infrastructure
Poverty, crime and weather, but is required to build world-class sports facilities, hotels, a modern rail network, airports and all the conditions for a sporting event.
How can these countries benefit from the legacy of sports?
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Mendjhi,
In a way, I would disagree with the premise of your question. Developing countries rarely obtain the rights to host the sort of Mega Sport Events (e.g. Olympics, Commonwealth Games, FIFA World Cup) that require major upgrades to local transport and touristic infrastructure. Developing countries often host mid-tier regional or continental event, such as the African Games (e.g. Congo or Zambia), les Jeux de la Francophonie (Ivory Coast), or the Asian Indoor Games (Uzbekistan). These require infrastructure investment, but not to the scale you are talking about.
And I think this is a big gap in current research. How do these events (big, but not on the same scale as Olympics, Commonwealth and World Cup) impact so-called developing countries?
From my research, one thing that is clear is that these events can help enhance the human skills and professional networks of local sport organisations, but to truly maximize those returns, conscious planning and activities is needed. I suspect the same can be said for other areas, such as sport facilities.
