I am looking at gender equality in sports media. I have collected two screen time measures from TV coverage of a sport event - one time for male athletes and one time for female athletes.
i am looking for a statistical test to give evidence that one gender is favoured. I assume I have to compare each genders time against the EXPECTED time given a 50/50 split (so male time + female time / 2), as this would be the time if no gender was favoured.
my first though was chi square? But I’m not sure that works because there’s really only one category. I am pregnant and so my brain is not working at the moment lol. I think the answer is really simple but I just can’t think of anything.
COVID-19 is a pandemic; being mainly a respiratory disease, facemask is one of the fundamental to prevent respiratory tract virus transmission.
Olympic is around the corner, and many sports events are aerobic in nature.
Does wearing facemask affect the sports performance of the athletes?
How is the respiratory physiology change with a facemask in situ?
Is there any exercise model of facemask fulfilling the filtration power for virus?
I'm about to embark on a research to study impact of major sporting events on local entrepreneurship. Ideally, I would like to link it to green or sustainable entrepreneurship. I would appreciate ideas to define my research question. Thanks.

Some colleagues and I surveyed volunteers recently in relation to their involvement with an international Masters Games event in our State. The events took place in a rural/regional area. The volunteers received education and training about their involvement in this event and what outcomes they mainly envisaged from their volunteering. We think that we have some interesting quantitative findings supported by a smaller amount of qualitative (interviewing) data. I thought that I would consult the 'wisdom of the crowd' around essential reading/seminal research on this topic. Much of the research seems focused upon sports volunteering and the really big events - Summer and Winter Olympics, World Cups and Superbowls rather than smaller-scale events. Our focus is education and volunteering more than the more widely researched motivation of volunteers.

We are studying the reach and conditions of information processes for participants in sports events (especially outdoors ones, like trail running, MTB, etc) in order to consolidate both a better safe practice AND a stronger legal basis around the Assumption of Risk concept.

Australia’s Winning Edge: 2012-2022 is a high performance strategy compiled by the Australian Sports Commission, which is described as Australia’s “game plan for moving from world class to world best”. I. Top Five at the Olympics and Paralympics
II. Top Fifteen at the Winter Olympics and Paralympics
III. Number one at the Commonwealth Games

Next year will be held in portugal a orienteering event with approximately 2000 participants. In order to measure the impact over the local economy of a rural county we need to chose a methodology that give us consistent results.
Specifically I will be examining the impact of event sponsorship on brand image looking at 1 music event and 1 sporting event. Ideally I need to choose events that are equivalent in terms of attendee profile, image etc. As such I would like literature that speaks to equivalence and how objects are treated when there isn't equivalence.
I need to find information on how venues attract international delegates to london sporting events
I would like to measure the perceived authenticity of a selection of sports events through an on-line survey sent to the participants. After this first step, I will select some cases for a deeper and more qualitative analysis. Therefore, I would like to know if some questionnaires that could be adapted to my research already exist in the literature?
