Somaliland's history as a distinct region of Somalia dates back to the late 1800s. The territory was a British protectorate until 1960, when it unified with the rest of present-day Somalia, which had been under Italian rule
Relevant answer
Answer
As a result, under the Anglo-Somali treaties of 1884, the northern Somali chiefs and their peoples retained
considerable residual sovereign powers and certainly existed as international persons.
The seminal document of the twentieth century was the Act of Union which established Somalia as a separate state in 1960.' Several factors, however, undermined its chances for success.
Civilian rule, re-established in the North in 1948, did not exist in Southern Somalia, which had been under a ten-year Italian Trusteeship since 1950."
The two territories were separated institutionally, linguistically and historically.
As a consequence, the two territories qualified as two individual countries.' With little binding them together, there was no driving force to create a single country.
Two events, however, are credited for inspiring the 1960 unification. First, in 1946, the Bevin proposals suggested that British Somaliland Nation and Italian Somalia Southern as well as part of Ethiopians should be grouped together to ensure that the nomads' way of

Somaliland is a self declared State running its own administration and having all the requirement to be a Sovereign State, but its not recognized by the UN. What is the AUs take on all this? Resent Somaliland engagement with Ethiopia has stirred the calm waters in Mogadishu, so Somalia calls it an act of aggression, because Somaliland is a self declared State that still "heavily rely on Somalia eg passport"
Relevant answer
Answer
first of all, Somaliland is not dependent on Somalia to issue its passports. Somaliland, which declared independence from Somalia in 1991, has established its own government institutions, including its own passport control system. It issues its own Somaliland passports, separate from those issued by the Somali government.

I want to get an answer above question I am confused kind of federal system in Somalia
Relevant answer
Answer
Somalia is a country with a complex history of political instability, civil war, and economic underdevelopment. Since the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991, Somalia has been struggling to establish a stable and effective central government. The federal system of governance that was adopted in 2004 aimed to address some of the challenges facing the country by decentralizing power and resources to regional and local authorities. However, the impact of federalism on the political and economic development of Somalia has been mixed.
Political development: On the one hand, federalism has provided opportunities for regional and local actors to participate in decision-making processes and to exercise greater autonomy over their affairs. The establishment of regional states has allowed for greater representation and inclusivity of diverse communities within the political system, which has been critical in promoting stability and reducing the risk of conflict. Furthermore, the division of power and resources between the federal government and regional states has led to more effective service delivery in some areas, such as security, healthcare, and education.
On the other hand, federalism has also contributed to the fragmentation of the country and the entrenchment of clan-based politics. The competition for resources and power between the federal government and regional states has often resulted in conflicts and tensions, which have undermined the capacity of the government to provide effective governance and address the needs of the population. Moreover, the lack of a strong central government has made it difficult to implement policies and reforms at the national level, leading to a patchwork of often conflicting regulations and laws.
Economic development: Federalism has had a limited impact on economic development in Somalia. The country remains one of the poorest in the world, with high levels of unemployment and poverty. The division of power and resources between the federal government and regional states has hindered the development of a coherent and coordinated economic policy, leading to a fragmented and uncoordinated approach to economic development. The lack of a strong central government has also made it difficult to attract foreign investment and support, which is critical in promoting economic growth and development.
In conclusion, federalism has had both positive and negative impacts on the political and economic development of Somalia. While it has provided opportunities for greater participation and inclusivity, it has also contributed to the fragmentation of the country and the entrenchment of clan-based politics. Moreover, it has had limited impact on economic development, as the lack of a strong central government has made it difficult to attract investment and coordinate economic policy.

Land as a scare resources are not been allocated in effective usage many countries including Sri Lanka. Even most of the countries they don't have their own Master plan for decide how they planed the development. Constructions such as large infrastructure projects like highways, industrial zones, mini housing projects in several areas, have been just established without paying attention on the natural environment and its opportunity cost,
The land which is much suitable for the cultivation are just covered by large concreate buildings. That will drastically affected to the future capability of food production, environmental issues. The environment that we are destroying today will never be reestablished again as it is. Therefore, the universal agreement should have to be initialized to certify the efficient allocation of natural resource immediately.
eg. We can use the dessert to establish most of the industries with the help of solar technology. Temperature can be managed by using the solar powered technology.
All the industrial good and services as it able to mitigate the global demand can be produced this particular area. that is quit look like a land specialization in production process.
However, today what we are doing is that, filling paddy fields by soil and build a certain constructions on it. If most of the people tempt to do the same thing, after particular period of time there will be only buildings in the surface then where we can cultivate the seeds...
Even dessert can cultivate if we think about more that 78% area is covered by the water in the earth. if think about this, and take the advantage of this water resources even countries like Somalia and most of poor African economies can be powered by huge agricultural production and which will leads to eradicate the poverty condition of those countries too.
Therefore at least country level Master plan for land should be revisited for the purpose of certify the effective usage of resources not only on behalf of the mankind but also all creatures in this world.

Answer
Notions of effectiveness of land use are not likely to suffice. What is needed upfront are government policies for implementation of systematic land surveying and titling programs that recognize all forms of land tenure: public and private; formal and customary, including those of pastoralists or others with weak formal rights; collective and individual, including women’s rights; and rural and urban. Thence, the specifics of land use can be looked into with reference to the most appropriate reference material, case by case.

The maritime limits of of an nation are usually governed by one of the only truly international legislations, known as UNCLOS (United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea). It defines 3 different limits, namely:
Territorial Waters: Up to 12 nautical miles from a country's agreed coastal "baseline" extending seawards. Most countries can exercise their outright (national) jurisdiction in all matters only until this limit. Anything outside this limit falls actually within International Waters.
Contiguous Zone: extending 12 nautical miles seawards from the Territorial Waters, i.e. 24 nautical miles from the baseline, within which a country can exert "limited" jurisdiction with respect to its customs, immigration or pollution laws.
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ): extends upto 200 nautical miles from the baseline. Mainly concerned with the exploratory limits for living and non-living natural resources (oil/gas/fishing) to which a country has sovereign rights.
The definition of "Baseline" can differ depending on the area in question, but in most cases it is quite close to the actual coastline (referenced to the visible coast at low tide).
However, like any other legislation of international significance, UNCLOS is fraught with certain inconsistencies and disagreements, in certain areas.

Dear All
Can anyone advice a simple method how to culture promastigotes from human peripheral blood?
I have used promastigote culture as diagnostic method for rK39 RDT negative Visceral Leishmaniasis patients.
I have inoculated spleen and bone marrow aspirates to 10ml vials with autoclaved house made medium consisting of Tryptone, Yeast Extract, NaCl sealed with rubber stoppers and 5% human blood is added there after, kept at 80-100C for 15 minutes to inactivate inhibitory components.
Just before inoculation I have added 1-2ml 10% filter sterilized human urine as an overlay, serving also to dilute complement and other inhibitory components in the maybe around 50µl aspirate. With strict sterility antibiotics have not been necessary.
Incubated in a cooling incubator at 25C, the living motile promastigotes have been visible in wet preparation in 48 hours to 30days.
But only around 70% of cultures have been positive.
Now I would like to start doing promastigote cultures also from peripheral blood.
The 2002 method by Shyam Sundar* and M. Rai (Laboratory Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis) seems feasible to my very basic conditions.
"Aseptically collected blood (1 to 2 ml) is diluted with 10 ml of citrated saline, and the cellular deposit obtained after centrifugation is inoculated in culture media."
But the recently published methods using buffy coats and micotiter plates etc seem too complicated to simple conditions.
So I would like to hear advices on simple but good techniques to do promastigote cultures from patients' peripheral blood.
And also if Streptokinase might help to eliminate complement and other inhibitory factors, without inhibiting amastigotes and promastigotes.
Yours
Mikko

Leishmania are obligate intracellular protozoa that infect mononuclear phagocytes. I suggest you try to centrifuge the blood samples and inoculate the buffy coat layer. This may increase sensitivity to recover the parasite and eliminate potential inhibitory factor/s. Good luck
