The question is too abstract for me to understand what you want to do -- but if you would like to know and customize program slicing, in my opinion, you should try GrammaTech CodeSurfer first. Its academic license is free (an application is needed).

The tool enables you to slice C programs on GUI.  The tool also provides a Scheme interpreter that allows your script to access system/program dependence graphs of a program and compute a slice.   Hence, you can see actual slices on GUI and then start to write your own algorithm to do something using SDG-based slicing.

There are lots of publications on the RCM implementation. Each industry and oragnization's are unique and therefore, you just cannot copy someone's and implement it. First understand the RCM philosophy and approach, based on which your own approach needs to be developed. I would say that a theme is a recurring pattern across a dataset - so as long as each of your two themes meet that criteria then there is no problem. A code can certainly be used as part of several themes - if that is your query?

The transition I mean is when the software maintenance work on an application portfolio is handed over from the proprietor to a Service Provider or from one Service Provider to another. There are a lot of models available for the actual maintenance effort, but not very much for the transition project.

Just an update if anyone later finds this page.

The CrossOver solution turned out to be really instable and I couldn't transfer files with a USB-stick between my mac and the PC on the StepOnePlus rt-PCR, for some unexplained reason.

I invested in Parallells and with my student discount it wasn't that expensive and I got Windows XP for free from my university so this is the solution I would recommend anyone to go for. Stable and with this old software and XP it doesn't eat up much memory anyway.
