Its structure was orthorhombic with space group P212121 and lattice constants a = 7.8578(3) Å, b = 11.0988(5) Å, and c = 18.0529(8) Å, and consist...

Tequila vinasses are organic wastes generated during ethanol fermentation at elevated temperatures (≥90 °C) and pH ≤ 4.0, making them hazardous to the environment. This paper describes a new, simplified UV–vis spectroscopy-based procedure for monitoring the adsorption of color compounds in tequila vinasses onto silica-based adsorbents, along with a...

This article reports the preparation of a novel functionalized magnetic nanoadsorbent through an addition reaction between Fe3O4 nanoparticles coated with allyl silica gel and 4-pyridinyl ethylene. A detailed characterization of Fe3O4@SiO2-yl-VP was conducted. Among them, in the infrared spectrum, we can easily see that the absorption peak of the C...

Background Innula cappa (Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don) DC (Compositae) is used in folkloric medicine to treat diabetes and other ailments. The current study aimed to assess the anti-hyperglycemic and antioxidant effects of methanolic extract and solvent fractions of I. cappa leaves as well as bioassay guided isolation of active compounds from the active ex...

C3–6 diols can be isolated from ethylene glycol (EG) via acid-catalyzed dehydration reactions, but the cost of catalyst and undesirable EG conversion have been concerns. Sulfonated silica gel with mesopores (5–12 nm) was prepared by impregnation and oxidation at a low cost, and it was more active than commercial Hβ zeolite in the catalytic transfor...

This research dealing with salting out TLC technique for simultaneous determination of two antihistaminic drugs Loratadine and its active metabolite desloratadine in pure, tablets and rabbit spiked plasma. Separation was performed on silica gel 60 F 254 plates using aqueous ammonium sulfate and acetonitrile (6:4, v/v) as a mobile phase. The R f val...

Silica materials, natural and synthetic variants, represent a promising material for the application in heterogeneous organocatalysis due to their readily modifiable surface and chemical inertness. To achieve high catalyst loadings, usually, porous carriers with high surface areas are used, such as silica monoliths or spherical particles for packed...

In the present manuscript, we highlight the contradictions in the thermally activated processes theory which treats a system's activated state as a state of the phonon subsystem. We offer an alternative model, in which the activated state is treated as an electron subsystem state. The mechanism of the activated state formation is as follows: therma...
