Think about willful academic blindness(ACADEMIC TUNNELING) vrs willful democratic blindness(POLITICAL TUNNELING)....
The first type/academic tunneling seems now normal, taking place at universities, thinktanks, international organizations, governments....which will lead to the death of science in a way that THOMAS KUHN was not expecting, BUT IT IS NOT BEING SEEN AS A THREAT TO THE SURVIVAL OF SCIENCE as it seems we are now in a non-science based world as science or not, they still will push what they want to push.....
The second type/political tunneling is SEEN as an existential threat to liberal democracy as political tunneling does not work under democratic rules just see the political dynamics under political tunneling processes under exism movements like Trumpism....
Hence, willful political tunneling with the support of alternative facts is seen as a serious threat to democracy from within, but willful academic tunneling with the support of alternative academic facts is not seen apparently as a serious threat to science from within, which makes you wonder, why.
And this raises the question, Why willful blindness is taken as a serious threat to the survival of democracy, but not the survival of science?
What do you think?
Note:
This is an academic question, not a political one.

The reasons you provide justifying silence of the part of scientists have merits as they are direct or indirect pressures, be it professional, economic, and political, which is why the world needs now more than ever INDEPENDENT SCIENTISTS so that the record of the history of economic thought and development does not leave out the fact that since 1987 WCED we started a process of trying to manage sustainability problems instead of fixing the root cause creating then with continued with UNCSD 2012 Rio + 20 conference where instead of creating and implementing green markets they continue with the ideas of managing the consequences of environmentally distorted traditional markets, a green market paradigm avoidance process that continues today 2024...

I've recently come across several journals that raise serious concerns regarding their legitimacy, yet some of them have managed to secure a spot in the Scopus database. A prime example is the International Journal of Chemical and Biochemical Sciences (ISSN 2226-9614), which has a notably poor-quality website that clearly doesn't meet the standards expected of reputable academic journals. Although this journal has since been delisted from Scopus, the fact that it was ever included is alarming.
Another example is Kexue Tongbao/Chinese Science Bulletin (https://www.kexuetongbao-csb.com/), which despite its unprofessional presentation, holds a Q2 ranking in Scopus.
This brings up several important questions:
  1. How do journals like these manage to bypass Scopus' evaluation standards and achieve high rankings?
  2. Is there a possibility that these journals are engaging in unethical practices to manipulate their inclusion and ranking in Scopus?
  3. Could there be political or other non-academic factors influencing these decisions within the Scopus community?
  4. What measures should be taken to prevent such journals from misleading researchers and degrading the integrity of academic publishing?
I’m interested in hearing the community's thoughts, particularly from those with experience in academic publishing, journal evaluation, and Scopus indexing.
This should help stimulate a discussion on the practices and potential issues within the academic publishing world.

Dear Participant,
"The questionnaire is based on the original survey by Ragu-Nathan and Tarafdar (2008), with our modifications. Technostress is the stress experienced due to the use of technology, and its examination is crucial for understanding its impact on job satisfaction and organizational trust. We are seeking responses from individuals who use digital devices in their work and are employed in various organizational roles, including employees, employers, and owners."
Best regards:
PhDr. Alzbeta Simon
PhD. candidate
Relevant answer
Answer
Technostress, which refers to stress caused by the use of technology, can impact organizational functioning in several ways:
  • Productivity: Technostress can reduce productivity as employees struggle with information overload, constant connectivity, and difficulty managing multiple technologies.
  • Health and Well-being: It can lead to physical and psychological health issues such as burnout, fatigue, and anxiety, affecting employee morale and retention.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Miscommunication and reduced face-to-face interaction may occur as reliance on technology increases, impacting teamwork and organizational cohesion.
  • Innovation: Technostress can hinder creativity and innovation as employees may feel overwhelmed by rapid technological changes or resistant to adopting new tools.
Addressing technostress requires organizations to promote a healthy work-life balance, provide training and support for technology use, and foster a culture that values well-being alongside technological advancement.

Do you think it is true, to see a scientific study as a source of income, from the race to be published by the journals to the publication of the symposium? Yes, money is spent on scientific efforts. And, this money must correspond to income. But the inventions, the patents that are the result of these efforts should be traded. I think that organizing so many symposiums, also being in the race for publication of articles by the open journals (or others), reduces the quality of science. What do you think about this?

In your opinion, what is the greatest role, function, importance, etc. of the development of international scientific cooperation?
International scientific cooperation plays an important role in the development of science and scientific research. In recent years, the development of online knowledge bases, online indexing databases of scientific publications, online science portals facilitates the development of international scientific cooperation. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the scale of remote communication conducted via the Internet increased significantly. The scale of realization of scientific conferences and symposia remotely through online video conferencing platforms has increased. With online science portals enabling discussions, the development of scientific cooperation on an international scale has been facilitated. Thanks to the aforementioned online science portals, i.e. this Research Gate portal, it is possible to set up and operate international research teams, where researchers and scientists operating in different countries can conduct collaborative scientific research, exchange experiences from their research, jointly publish the results of their research work in scientific articles and monographs. I hereby inform you that I am open to scientific cooperation, including scientific cooperation carried out internationally. I invite you to publish the results of the conducted scientific research in a scientific journal:

Integrating the concept of the unity of subjects and objects with the training philosophy of Shaolin monks, especially in relation to weapons training, can offer a profound perspective on the interconnectedness of the martial artist and their tools. Here's an exploration of this synthesis:
  1. Philosophical Integration: Drawing from Eastern philosophical traditions, particularly those influencing Shaolin philosophy, the unity of subjects and objects aligns with the idea of oneness or interconnectedness. This philosophy suggests that the martial artist and their weapon are not separate entities but part of a unified whole, much like the interconnectedness emphasized in Eastern philosophies.
  2. Linguistic Expression in Movement: The unity of subjects and objects in movement can be likened to a form of "kinetic language." The martial artist, like a speaker of a unique martial language, expresses themselves through the seamless integration of their body (subject) and the weapon (object). Each movement becomes a word, and the entire form is a sentence in the language of martial arts.
  3. Systems Thinking in Combat: Applying systems thinking, subjects and objects in martial arts, including weapons, can be viewed as interconnected components within the combat system. The martial artist and their weapon are not isolated entities but dynamic elements within the larger system of martial practice. The unity lies in the understanding of the complex relationships and interactions during combat.
  4. Artistic Expression and Weaponry: Weapons training, when viewed as an art form, highlights the artistic expression of the martial artist. The weapon becomes an extension of the artist's creativity, much like a brush in the hands of a painter. The unity arises from the seamless fusion of the martial artist's intent and the weapon's form.
  5. Holistic Integration of Body and Weapon: In Shaolin weapons training, the holistic integration of body and weapon is emphasized. The weapon is not merely an external tool but an extension of the martial artist's body. This integration goes beyond physical movements, involving mental focus, breath control, and spiritual awareness. The unity lies in the practitioner's ability to become one with the weapon.
  6. Technological Harmony: In a modern context, the weapon can be seen as a technological extension of the martial artist. The unity emerges when the practitioner and the weapon operate as a harmonious technological system. This integration reflects not only physical skill but also a deep understanding of the weapon's mechanics and dynamics.
  7. Transformation through Discipline: The transformational aspect of martial arts philosophy, as seen in the synthesis with Zhuang Zi's writings, extends to weapons training. The disciplined practice transforms the martial artist and their relationship with the weapon. The unity is not only in the physical mastery but also in the spiritual and mental development achieved through dedicated training.
In summary, the unity of subjects and objects, when applied to Shaolin weapons training, encompasses a profound integration of philosophy, movement, and discipline. The martial artist and their weapon become an inseparable and harmonious whole, expressing a language of combat, embodying systems thinking, and reflecting a transformative journey of mind, body, and spirit.
Connecting the integration of subjects and objects in martial arts, particularly weapons training, with the relationship between individuals and their mobile phones as an extension of themselves involves exploring the parallels in interconnectedness and unity. Here's a synthesis that links these concepts:
  1. Philosophical Unity in Technology: Like the unity emphasized in martial arts philosophy, the relationship between individuals and their mobile phones suggests a similar interconnectedness. The device is not just a tool but an integral part of the individual's daily life, mirroring the oneness found in Eastern philosophies.
  2. Technological Extension of the Self: In the martial arts context, the weapon is viewed as an extension of the martial artist's body. Similarly, a mobile phone can be seen as a technological extension of the individual's mind and communication capabilities. The unity arises as the individual seamlessly integrates the mobile phone into their daily activities, relying on it for various functions.
  3. Linguistic Expression in Digital Communication: The language analogy extends to digital communication. Much like the martial artist expresses themselves through movements, individuals use their mobile phones as a means of communication. Texts, calls, and digital interactions become a form of expression in the modern "language" of connectivity.
  4. Systems Thinking in Digital Interactions: Applying systems thinking, the relationship between individuals and mobile phones can be viewed as a complex system of interactions. The unity lies in the interconnectedness and interdependence of various functions—the phone is not merely a device but a node within a larger system of communication, information retrieval, and social interaction.
  5. Artistic Expression in Digital Creativity: Individuals express their creativity through the use of mobile phones, capturing moments, creating content, and sharing experiences. The unity here is in the seamless fusion of technology with personal expression, akin to the artistic expression in martial arts.
  6. Holistic Integration of Self and Technology: The integration of subjects and objects seen in martial arts weapons training aligns with the holistic incorporation of mobile phones into individuals' lives. The unity is not just in physical use but extends to mental and emotional aspects, with individuals relying on their phones for communication, information, and even emotional connection.
  7. Transformation through Digital Discipline: Like disciplined martial arts practice leads to transformation, disciplined use of mobile phones can result in personal growth and adaptation. Individuals undergo a transformative journey as they learn to navigate the digital landscape, balancing connectivity with mindful and responsible use.
  8. Digital Harmony as Technological Limbs: The analogy of mobile phones as technological limbs reflects the sense of unity and integration. When individuals are without their phones, it can feel like missing a part of themselves—akin to the phantom limb phenomenon. The unity is deeply ingrained in the habitual and integral role that mobile phones play in daily life.
In this synthesis, the unity of subjects and objects seen in martial arts is extended to the relationship between individuals and their mobile phones. Both contexts involve a profound integration, where the tool becomes an extension of the self, reflecting interconnectedness, expressive capabilities, and transformative potential.

The 45,000-Year-Old Pig Painting in Indonesia may be the oldest known "Art" representation [1]. “Art” embodies the idea of imagination and creativity, “Science” refers to innovation and progress. This gives intuition that "Science" is bounded, unlike "Art" which is limitless. The same goes for philosophy, except this one integrates a desire to ask questions, understand, argue, and respond to material and immaterial issues that concern humans, their lives, and their environment. All contributions on the topic are welcome!

@Stephen I. Ternyik Purely my opinion! I think to say that, science is hierarchically above art is to certain degree debatable. Facts can be dependent or independent entities and are malleable with time. Science must apply before it can lead (anonymous) for even scientific investigations to prosper, there must employment of some artistic functions that have to do with observations (even though called scientific methods). To say that, science is hierarchical over art implies that, there is no equality among disciplines, which can disturb scholarly community. And this can raise some questions whether there is absolute interdisciplinarity or multidisciplinarity in the academia. I think art is given least treatment in terms of the function it performs right from the middle ages to the present such as in trivium and quadrivium.

This "philosophical" thought by Rabelais "Wisdom cannot enter into an evil spirit, and Science without conscience is but ruin of the soul", taken from Pantagruel, his major work (own translation from French), can be considered as the keystone of what would be called "Scientific Morality". What if we discuss this paramount issue for the scientific community? Contributions on the topic are welcome.
Science is a neutral, rigorous, systematic endeavor that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe. Modern science is typically divided into three major branches: natural sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, and physics), which study the physical world; the social sciences (e.g., economics, psychology, and sociology), which study individuals and societies; and the formal sciences (e.g., logic, mathematics, and theoretical computer science), which study formal systems, governed by axioms and rules".
"Conscience” translates the Latin “conscientia”, which refers to sharing “knowledge” (scientia) “with” (con-), and which in turns translates the equivalent Greek term suneidenai (see Pierce 1955 and Sorabji 2014 for an etymological analysis of the term). The literal meaning of the term does not specify the type of knowledge involved and whom that knowledge is shared with. However, the concept has traditionally been used to refer to moral knowledge (we talk indifferently of conscience and moral conscience) that is shared with oneself. This reference to the self does not rule out that the source of the morality in question be external to the self. ... Reference to the self indicates that, from a psychological point of view, conscience involves introspection, awareness of one’s behavior, and self-assessment..."

At present, the economies of developed countries are entering the period of the fourth technological revolution known as Industry 4.0.
The previous three technological revolutions:
1. The industrial revolution of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, determined mainly by the industrial application of the invention of a steam engine.
2. Electricity era of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
3. The IT revolution of the second half of the twentieth century determined by computerization, computerization, the widespread use of the Internet and the beginning of the development of robotization.
The current fourth technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
- artificial intelligence,
- cloud computing,
- machine learning,
- Big Data database technologies,
- Internet of Things.
In every previous technological revolution, the same question was repeated many times. However, economies developed and changed structurally and labor markets returned to balance. Periodically, short-term economic crises appeared, but their negative economic effects, such as falling income and rising unemployment, were quickly reduced by active state intervention.
It seems to me that self-malting and robotization, IT, artificial intelligence, learning machines will change the labor markets, but this does not necessarily mean a large increase in unemployment. New professions, occupations, specialties in these areas of knowledge and technology will be created. Someone, after all, these machines, robots, etc. must design, create, test, control, and implement into production processes.
Therefore, I am asking you:
Will the technological development based on self-mulization, robotization, IT development, artificial intelligence, machine learning increase unemployment in the future?

Why are there still people in the 21st century who in some countries do not accept the prevailing knowledge confirmed by scientific research who believe that the Earth is not round is only flat or that the Earth is the center of the Solar System, not the Sun or negating the process the evolution of the origin of various life forms on Earth, etc.?
In my opinion, it is not a question of faith but a lack of knowledge confirmed by scientific research. It is strange, however, that in the 21st century, in the face of the facts widely confirmed in the media, confirmed in many aspects scientifically, on the basis of experiments carried out, space expeditions are still people who ignore this widely available knowledge in the media and create their unjustified theories.
No wonder that even a few centuries ago and before, i.e. in a situation of widespread illiteracy and lack of universal access to knowledge and information, in the absence of media it was easy to maintain, promote anachronistic and illogical theories to implement a specific information policy for the needs of maintaining absolute power, which one of the attributes was access to knowledge and information deliberately restricted for a large part of society, and in some epochs, such as, for example, in the Middle Ages, deliberately limited research possibilities and deliberately placed barriers to the development of science. In such realities, totalitarianisms are easily formed and it is easy to carry out indoctrination of the society by propagating even illogical, unjustified ideologies that are not supported by any scientific research.
Therefore, nowadays access to knowledge and results of scientific research should be universal and unlimited. A large positive role in this matter is played by the Internet and Internet portals such as the Research Gate portal.

If in the process of technological and technical progress new kinds of products and services are created that improve the lives of people, it can be assumed that at certain times people may seem to be happier, then people can feel happier.
But after some time, people get used to a certain level of life and look for further stimuli from the world of science, technology, technology, production of goods, provision of new services that will meet the growing human needs.
However, it seems to me that in such a situation one should consider and verify the essence of the concept of happiness.
What is the achievement of people's sense of happiness in the realities of the current technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0?
Is the definition of the concept of happiness not deformed in the realities of current reality dominated largely by technology in technologically developed countries?
Is it sure that technological progress gives people a sense of happiness?
Technical and technological progress itself provides new products, but it does not necessarily always make people feel happier and certainly not in the long term.
In my opinion, the main factors deciding about happiness are on completely different issues and concern the fundamental values of self-fulfillment in personal, family and professional life.
In this approach to the interpretation of the concept of achieving the state of happiness, self-fulfillment in various spheres of human functioning can be an important determinant of achieving happiness.

is there a historical map of academic disciplines? what is the trend of academic disciplines changes(number, nature and label of disciplines)?
i will be thanks full if someone introduce any article, book, handbook or report about historical map of disciplines and history of academic disciplines.
Relevant answer
Answer
Hello,
Yes, a historical mapping of academic disciplines now exists: the "Interactive Historical Atlas of the Disciplines". This website, recently launched at the University of Geneva, is available in open access here:
It is an interactive atlas containing a collection of more than 200 disciplinary maps ("classifications of the sciences" or "knowledge maps") from Antiquity to our time, with thousands historical definitions of academic disciplines extracted from sources. Moreover, it includes several analysis tools (timeline, statistical tools with the ability to chart the evolution of a discipline, iconographic database, advanced search filters). For instance, it is possible to display chronologically a list of historical definitions of an academic discipline in order to study the evolution of its identity over time. The aim of this project is to map the evolution of the disciplinary borders throughout the centuries, and to reconstruct the genealogy of the sciences.
As for a "typology" of the various types of disciplinary systems (namely, the different taxonomic systems underlying these historical "classifications of the sciences"), you could find some insights in my recent paper:
Sandoz, Raphaël (2021), "Thematic Reclassifications and Emerging Sciences", Journal for General Philosophy of Science 52(1), pp. 63–85, available here: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10838-020-09526-2.

Are research and development programs for research centers cooperating with enterprises and other entities in clusters in order to activate entrepreneurship and innovation of business entities in your countries?
In recent years, cooperation programs for research and R & D centers with enterprises have been developed in some countries to activate entrepreneurship and innovation of business entities.
Because in developed countries information, innovations, new technologies and entrepreneurship are considered as one of the most important factors of the country's economic development and, as a consequence, also economic growth measured, for example, by the Gross Domestic Product in subsequent years.
In addition, research and research and implementation works are conducted in these themes, which further underline the high level of significance of innovation, new technologies and entrepreneurship in contemporary national economies.
Clusters are created within which enterprises undertake cooperation with other business entities, with scientific, research and implementation centers, universities, public sector institutions to exchange experiences, transfer knowledge, run and develop joint research and implementation projects, including innovative technological and process solutions, research, organizational and other.

After 30 years, much will change. 30 years is a long period for the continuation of the current fourth technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0.
The current technological revolution known as Industry 4.0 is motivated by the development of the following factors:
Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, Business Intelligence and other advanced data mining technologies.
On the basis of the development of the new technological solutions in recent years, dynamically developing processes of innovatively organized analyzes of large information sets stored in Big Data database systems and computing cloud computing for the needs of applications in such areas as: machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence are dynamically developing, Business Intelligence.
The development of information processing technology in the era of the current technological revolution defined by Industry 4.0 is determined by the application of new information technologies in the field of e-commerce and e-marketing.
Added to this are additional areas of application of advanced technologies for the analysis of large data sets, such as Medical Intelligence, Life Science, Green Energy, etc. Processing and multi-criteria analysis of large data sets in Big Data database systems is made according to the V4 concept, ie Volume (meaning number of data), Value (large values of specific parameters of the analyzed information), Velocity (high speed of new information appearing) and Variety (high variety of information).
The advanced information processing and analysis technologies mentioned above are used more and more often for marketing purposes of various business entities that advertise their offer on the Internet or analyze the needs in this area reported by other entities, including companies, corporations, financial and public institutions. More and more commercial business entities and financial institutions conduct marketing activities on the Internet, including on social media portals.
More and more companies, banks and other entities need to conduct multi-criteria analyzes on large data sets downloaded from the Internet describing the markets on which they operate, as well as contractors and clients with whom they cooperate. On the other hand, there are already specialized technology companies that offer this type of analytical services, develop customized reports that are the result of multicriteria analyzes of large data sets obtained from various websites and from entries and comments on social media portals.

How should there be an active cooperation between business and science? How should the development of clusters and agreements between cooperating enterprises and science centers, scientific institutes and universities be facilitated in the economic policy of the state?
In my opinion, there should be an active cooperation between business and science. I believe that in the economic policy of the state it is necessary to develop the facilitation of the development of clusters and agreements of cooperating enterprises with science centers, with research institutes and universities. Business development should result from scientific knowledge. Businessmen should consult scientists about business development. Scientists are more and more often engaged as consultants working on the needs of business. Entrepreneurs should use the analytical tools developed by scientists, for example in the area of improvement of business analytics tools, developed computerized tools for advanced information processing, eg in Big Data database systems using Business Intelligence analytical platforms. But this is just an example of this type of cooperation between business and science.
On the other hand, it happens more and more often that researchers and scientists start startups or develop research programs, the effect of which is to create a new type of material or technology, innovative solutions. Then, such innovative solutions, which were created in research laboratories, are increasingly implemented in industry. It happens that the state co-finances large research programs, such as space exploration programs. During these high-budget research programs, new technologies are created that are used in the production of many products offered to consumers or become the basis for the creation of new technological solutions implemented in the mass production of various types of products or services.
In addition, new business and economic concepts are developed and developed, such as the concepts of sustainable pro-ecological economic development, the important element of which is the creation and implementation of eco-innovations into the industry, eg the purpose of developing new renewable energy sources. Such processes, whose aim is to reform the energy sector as quickly as possible and convert classic energy sources based on the combustion of minerals to environmentally friendly renewable energy sources are an example of necessary reforms that can be effectively implemented through cooperation of businessmen with scientists and design and implementation of large infrastructure investments and construction of a power plant for the production of electricity as part of the development of renewable energy sources from financial resources of private companies in the financial support of the state.
In connection with the above, there are more and more examples of synergies of development of private or state-supported investment ventures and developing business with the world of science. The state, as part of pro-development state interventionism, should develop its innovation and development policy as a key element of pro-development economic policy, within which it should support, as well as financially and actively, enterprises and the world of science. As part of this activation, facilitations should be created, for example through a system of tax breaks for the development of clusters and agreements between cooperating enterprises and science centers, scientific institutes and universities. This is a particularly important pro-development element in knowledge-based economies.
Do you agree with my opinion on this matter?
In view of the above, I am asking you the following question:
Should business cooperation with science develop? How to support the development of business cooperation with science? How should there be an active cooperation between business and science? Yes, in my country, the Scopus indexing base is considered one of the most important. The Scopus database is recognized as the main scientific database for the indexation of scientific publications characterized by high citation. However, on a global scale, the bases of indexing scientific publications recognized in various countries by various centers and scientific institutions are at least a dozen or so. However, these various indexing bases are not usually fully comparable, they are functionally differentiated and thanks to that they are only partially substitutable, but more often they are complementary. Dear all, Mathematical models and theories are meant to provide efficient and accurate approximations of physical phenomenon. Some models have been ignored assumed to be true for hundreds or thousands years, few of them have been maintained and perfected to be close to reality (atomic models, the universe size, etc.). The human word perception and understanding is getting better every day. Also, most advances in science and technology are overlooked those of the previous cycle. However, these physical principles have been existed since the existence of the earth and the universe. The good news, Many theories and physical principles still exist and are just waiting to be discovered, our ignorance does not mean the absence of such a principle (Human limitation to exploring the earth against the vastness of the universe is a proof). Is there any mechanism or a technique which makes it possible to predict the existence of some new physical phenomenon, etc. or to initiate the reflection process ?. Thanks for your comments.

Answer
Philosophy teaches us how to think. It is not a "science", a set of "sciences", and has not any compromises with ideas of "innovation", "creativity", even less with "technology", "design" and all the other words that are nowadays used and abused around knowledge. However, philosophy is indispensable for sciences, scientific research, and knowledge innovation precisely because it illuminates how to ask, how to inquiry, and how to search for knowledgeable answers. Most of the main subjects of philosophy still are long-term inquiries on the meaning of life, moral conduct, the value of knowledge, human virtues, love, or justice that have been discussed for thousands of years, finding new answers and paths towards a meaningful humanistic life. Philosophy doesn't need to be innovative but only to be serious and profound, keeping epistemic requirements, logic processes, and ontological exactions. It is enough to maintain philosophy with its original wonderful meaning: philein and sophia or the love of wisdom.

Internet technology companies that created and developed social media portals have built their business model on specific forms of online marketing.
One of these forms is online viral marketing. In this form of marketing there is still a lot of potential.
However, in the future, the rate of dynamic development of these portals based on marketing activities may significantly decrease.
As a result, the companies that run these portals expand the offer of their information and marketing services.
One of the forms of expanding the activities of these technology companies is, for example, the development of additional services and development towards fin tech.
