Hello dear community,
Is Global Journal of Computer Science & Technology predatory.
Regards,
Relevant answer
Answer
The papers are edited pretty professional and look misleadingly real. However, the publisher is suspect, see for example:
The same is true, when looking at the particular journal itself (https://computerresearch.org/index.php/computer ):
-If you scroll down, they mention matrices while they mean metrics
-If you scroll down further you see a sad collection of so-called misleading metrics (see also https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) like ESJI, GIF, CiteFactor etc. often used by predatory journals/publishers
-No serious indexing (like Scopus, WoS etc.)
-Contact info looks fake. Most likely a virtual office (at best), all this to hide their true origin
So, I would say avoid.
Best regards.
PS. I suspect a relation with another dubious publisher “Dama Academic Scholary & Scientific Research Society” (https://damaacademia.com ). The well… mysterious sounding phrase in the mission “We intend to frequently modernize our dexterity and cultivate our standards to deliver exceptional quality journals in all fields of expertise.” can be found in both of them https://computerresearch.org/index.php/computer/about and https://damaacademia.com/mission/ The same is true for the sentence which can be found (using Google) here https://computerresearch.org/index.php/computer/about “is a premier research paper publisher with a global reputation for publishing quality journals and services which cover all streams”

International Research Journal of Science, Technology, Education, and Management ( IRJSTEM ) is good to publish Journal?
Relevant answer
Answer
It is a mixed picture when it comes to the journal “International Research Journal of Science, Technology, Education, and Management. (IRJSTEM)”. It is a young journal so not that much can be found when it comes to good or bad experiences. The good points are:
-The DOAJ membership is legit and a good sign since DOAJ is often used as a ‘whitelist approach’ when it comes to open access
-They claim to charge no fee
The weak points are:
-A large collection of basically meaningless (indexing) logos, a poor attempt to impress
-Way too many references to misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) like SIS, CiteFactor, DRJI often used by predatory journals. So, to say the least the people behind this journal show no good understanding of real and legit metrics (which makes you wonder about the level of scientific standard)
-For the papers I checked the peer review time is way too short (makes you wonder about the quality of the peer review if any)
So, personally I would avoid this one.
Best regards.

If in the process of technological and technical progress new kinds of products and services are created that improve the lives of people, it can be assumed that at certain times people may seem to be happier, then people can feel happier.
But after some time, people get used to a certain level of life and look for further stimuli from the world of science, technology, technology, production of goods, provision of new services that will meet the growing human needs.
However, it seems to me that in such a situation one should consider and verify the essence of the concept of happiness.
What is the achievement of people's sense of happiness in the realities of the current technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0?
Is the definition of the concept of happiness not deformed in the realities of current reality dominated largely by technology in technologically developed countries?
Is it sure that technological progress gives people a sense of happiness?
Technical and technological progress itself provides new products, but it does not necessarily always make people feel happier and certainly not in the long term.
In my opinion, the main factors deciding about happiness are on completely different issues and concern the fundamental values of self-fulfillment in personal, family and professional life.
In this approach to the interpretation of the concept of achieving the state of happiness, self-fulfillment in various spheres of human functioning can be an important determinant of achieving happiness.
Do you agree with me on the above matter?
In the context of the above issues, the following question is valid:
Does technological progress make people feel happier?
I invite you to the discussion
Best wishes

At present, in the age of the technological revolution known as the 4.0 industry, new technology management or Internet-based companies are emerging.
The technological revolution in recent years, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence.
Added to this is the development of data processing analytics in Business Intelligence enterprises, the development of life science technologies, biotechnology, eco-innovation, energy, medical intelligence, etc.
On the basis of the development of the new technological solutions mentioned in recent years, the processes of innovatively organized analyzes of large information collections gathered in Big Data database systems dynamically develop.
In the context of this problem, many questions arise:
What other technological improvements, innovative organizational, technical and IT solutions will be developed in the future based on the development of the above-mentioned factors?
What kinds of innovations will be able to be created in the coming years, in the future based on the integration of the above-mentioned main determinants of the development of the current technological revolution known as Industry 4.0?
What kind of new categories of added value may be created in the future if the above-mentioned technological solutions are more involved in the creation of biotechnological, ecological, product and other innovations.
Will new technologies be created in this way, with the help of which it will be possible to generate solutions to the problems of excessive exploitation of Earth resources in the process of civilization development?
Do business management processes play a particularly important role in the context of the effective functioning of business entities in currently developing economies based on knowledge, information and technology?
Is e-management a new concept of managing virtual enterprises or rather managing online technology companies?
Are new management concepts of innovative enterprises and start-ups based mainly on knowledge, information, entrepreneurship and creation of innovations?

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is a marketing acronym to let people know this is where learners are doing poorly. However, M for mathematics is the subject where students need the most help and are struggling. Is it poor teaching methods? Or is the material just not exciting? This question has been asked decade after decade, and leaners still regard this subject as the least favorite. Why?
Relevant answer
Answer
It definitely has something to do with our approach towards teaching Math. Math, by and large, is taught as an abstract subject, with a primary focus on solving as many questions as possible, with every possible variation, with the assumption that practice will make them perfect. On the other hand, the more popular subjects like sciences, PE, and social science follow a more practical approach with ample demonstration of practical application.
Math is not an abstract subject and should be taught with more real-life examples (Not the traditional 'A has 10 apples and B has 20 so......). Once students see its application, they would show more interest and would not be bored to death by adding two numbers 100 times, many times over!

However, many so developing countries one or two decades ago (China, India, etc.), have now become engines of strong research and technological growth. Is this a sign that brain drain has slowed down?
Relevant answer

Dear Desta Berhe Sbhatu,
Thanks for your post.
Yes. Brain drain exists and it is continuing in India. The reason is simple, the number of passouts/Ph.Ds are quite more than jobs available in the market. Moreover though salary in the govt. Sector increased substantially since 2006, the union govt. stopped pension facilities wef 1.1.2005 as a result promising professionals are looking for overseas jobs. Additionally, during last 7-8 years, the present govt. has opted lukewarm attitude in recruiting candidates. A significant number of appointments are being made on contact basis offering lower salaries and without any social security measures.

I warmly welcome for your healthy opinions on this mordant topic.
We, scientific community had began simulation and models of human or we induced climate change (CC) & its impacts from late 1970's & later. There are big shots (IPCC, UNFCC, GAR, etc..) who narrated the scientific stories in scientific manner on global warming (GW), ozone depletion and hastens on climate to change and 'bio D` loses'. The report and studies of them has accelerated to new invoke and evoked human communities from different clans of nations. They said the reason for CC was the elite nations who contributed to such cause as much.
The elite group of nations has enlightened the now progressing nations as its the duty and responsibility of the second and third nation groups to rebuild mother earth as of as it was. Sometimes I go numbed while looking into the gist of CC as we produced. I now go doubtful on this mark, as any interventions by we ourselves to nature is and will be again CC. Then how can we build back better?
I hope so, some may answer or go through the thoughts into our recent efforts on emission reduction and mitigations strategies. Yes, I agree that the reports of recent dates has told us that we had reduced further ozone depletion through greening our technologies. I accept it.
But again I am now fascinated to have much more questions to myself. I ask you that, if we had reduced ozone depletion as from previous situation then why we again face GW, CC & its impacts?
Let it be as such as beautiful granny fearing stories in those reports for our younger ones to read learn & fear. Mean while other group of scientific community emerged as NIPCC & has brought with reconstructed CC reports on contrary to IPCC. They too narrated quite dread stories than of former ones in quite harmless fashion.
I go with scratchy head to the nasty scientific community and came into a conclusion from these CC trepidation reports that we need a third dimensional approach to visualize the CC concept in more diverse manner than of we now have. It is now necessary for the clans of nations with CC impacts, to redraw or rewrite the CC stories into their own dictations for our younger ones to fear.
We gave reasonable reasons that green house gases are much contributors for the CC and allied impacts. Ok I agree this notation with scientific justification made. Just we people want to think & imagine on what if one of the constituent was drastically reduced through our efforts ?
For an example, take CO gas reduced that of required by our activity what will happen? The earth will go frost readily. Imagine all water and its matter go frost for all of a sudden. Hope so i am now incorporating a new mode of CC fear in you in new dimensions. Just think of what if CH4 reduced in atmosphere? The same effect will happen. Think of doubling the ozone layer on our outer spheres, what will happen? Sunlight cannot enter through the reframed atmospheric windows and quite some of spectrum will be screened off, like essential IR. Then think about the vegetation on earth and what will be the primary productivity on this planet?
Till now i talked a glimpse on we induced CC.
Now let's talk about CC fear propagating from mother nature itself.
Recent studies on earths deflections of its axis, as it has tilted further. Imagine that slight tilt can change much change in now prescribed environments will definitely turn into other ecosystems. Think Asia totally becoming desert or as permafrost or as ocean ecosystem. So as think, what will and might happen to now continents and zoogeographic, bio-geography zones? what about the concept of meridians and its shifts? what about shifts in time? what about effect and shift in rotation, revolution of earth? What about seasons & weather? what about the number of days in months, year concepts?
All scientific concepts can go ruined or shall be tuned to later shifts. Had any one thought about that?
What if the density of water increased with enormity in increase of gravitational pull. or imagine gravitational repelling mechanism. Think about the what if the inner core solidifies? What if rotation of earth stopped? what if rotation and circulation of air, wind stopped. what if waves and tides stopped? what if sea and ocean recedes and brought unusable lands?
This type of W-H questions are nasty and will go on in our era and can end untill human extinction.
So, no need to worry about this planet, this planet earth is a self sustained and regulated with its own homeostasis and cybernetic mechanics and has its own system engineering with a loop. As of game spirit nature will nurture itself. It can emanate from its end. If one species goes extinct now time, can re-emanate after its on cyclic turn than we human calculated scales of time & dimension.
So, incorporation of CC fear in the name of power, knowledge, wealth transfer and its business shall have an scientific end in next research and reports that we kind produce to the world not to fool or manipulate our kind. We scientific community shall stop tending ourselves as scientific dictators and barbarian bureaucrats for the rest of the peaceful human kinds.
In the name of business and its ratification on CC has need to wave a noble dimension other than incorporating fear into mankind. Make reports one such that doesn't incorporate nature as a thing to fear for future generations. Hope we can reduce these, ingress of cc fear reports onto our own communities to develop good mental health and well being of ourselves.
Learn to make reports to love nature, and natural phenomenon's as it is.
Don't portray the phenomenon's into fearful scientific stories.

If we integrate STEM in learning, do all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics have to be present in every activity? Or may only 2 or 3 aspects appear?
Relevant answer
Answer
The biggest problem with this thinking is that all of those terms are far too broad to design detailed and specific learning outcomes. You might argue that all of those disciplines will influence how we shape the requirements of the teaching method, but ultimately applied are often driven 'bottom up'. Such that we start at the problem and design a teaching framework around the measures we can place on how well the problem is solved.
For example: If I am attempting to teach somebody a practical skill such as welding, my metrics are going to be a lot more specific and goal-driven (I.E. has it penetrated correctly, is the surface reasonably 'clean') than trying to start at the abstract end of STEM and work out what mathematics / technology I want to teach in the process. Eventually, under a QA / teaching review I might decide that the welder should undertake some kind of arithmetic assessment to hit the "M" part, or perhaps understand some of the metallurgical process for the "T" component etc... but that is more than likely secondary to ensuring that they are welding correctly and at a sufficient rate / quality point.
For modern education activities that are perhaps a bit more abstract (such as classroom staples of mathematics and essential sciences) then you could certainly use all four components to enrich the lesson. For example: take a lesson on organic chemistry (such as Alkene reactions) which covers "S" - we could add information about catalysts for "T", applications of chemicals or reaction rates / equilibria for "E" and some basic equation balancing or empirical calculus (such as exponential cooling or thermal model) for "M". However, you only have a certain amount of time to teach somebody and they can only retain a certain volume of information, so we are back with the earlier philosophy that the teaching method is usually more specific and drive by what the outcome needs are, rather than using STEM vernacular to guide teaching.
Personally, I think you should strive to attain something from all 4, but that is only a very basic high level assessment of general education. There are so many skill areas that you'll be unaware of until you spend time working with / or become an expert(s) in the given problem space.

Drought, land degradation and desertification on one side and floods on the other are extreme happenings across the world which cause colossal destruction of plant, animal and human life to a point of no return. These are attributed to adverse changes in climate with attendant global warming. Notwithstanding that matter and energy are dynamic, it is essential to make the life of all, happy, healthy, peaceful, and progressive with time. Plants also have feelings, ability to respond to care, comfort, company and communication as proven by late Dr. J.C.Bose an eminent scientist in India par excellence, time independent. Therefore, it is imperative that humans need to strive to cause quality of life to sustain on Earth with advances made in science and technology across the world. And some further specific additions to the discussion in this thread:

Also, it seems critical to me, to highlight the ways these formalized ways of collecting and analyzing that helps us in producing knowledge are locally, and thus too socially, crafted, since the decisions on the inner workings of "4.0 technologies" (or black boxes) are made in specific places/spaces and time, and by exclusive groups of actors.

And another question to the readers of this thread: What are "4.0 technologies" or how are they to be defined/identified?

The main challenge of modern technical education is the сontinuous acceleration of technical progress and shortening of the products life cycle. Thus, the curriculums and courses are quickly aging and we need to keep them up to date. This process can be very complicated for traditional universities chained by bureacracy. The possible solution is trivial and well-known - individual curriculums, personal tutoring, project-based education that is deeply connected with business, science and real world applications. I heavily doubt in distance learning - in my opinion, it produces semi-professionals without real practical background and with lack of academic values. Nevertheless, distance learning can be effective for requalification and advanced courses, as well as for self-educational purposes.

The quantum phenomenon as an aspect of objective reality was a more or less accidental discovery by the turn of the 20th century that no one (philosopher, scientist or thinker) could even anticipate in their wildest imagination. But within its short life span, the quantum phenomena have revolutionized modern natural science and technology. The major part of modern life is dependent on the various aspect of this phenomenon. As a scientific tool it provides the most accurate results ever achieved by man; about the smallest and the largest objects of Nature and Life.
But ironically, if we go by the following quotes from the people who were instrumental in developing and working with this phenomenon; it remains as unfathomable and enigmatic aspect of objective reality as ever before! Why this disconnect? Is it possible to do anything about it?
1. “If it is correct, it signifies the end of physics as a science”. Albert Einstein
2. "If someone says that he can think about quantum physics without becoming dizzy, that shows only that he has not understood anything whatever about it." Niels Bohr
3. “I do not like it, and I am sorry I ever had anything to do with it”. Erwin Schrödinger
4. “I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics”. Richard Feynman
5. “If you are not completely confused by quantum mechanics, you do not understand it”. John Wheeler
6. “Quantum mechanics makes absolutely no sense”. Roger Penrose
Relevant answer
Answer
I simply would like to point out that quantum mechanics do not "make sense" to us humans because they do not accommodate our everyday macroscopic experience. They absolutely make sense from the mathematical point of view, its just really hard to develop any kind of intuition. From a Kantian perspective, the experience of quantum mechanics maybe could be considered devoid of space. On the other hand, assuming that the physical laws that govern the universe should be something we are even remotely familiar with is, in my honest opinion, quite naïve.

The current technological referendum referred to as Industry 4.0 is motivated mainly by the following factors:
- artificial intelligence,
- cloud computing,
- machine learning,
- Big Data database technologies,
- Internet of Things.
However, for the improvement of economic development and development in the sustainable model in the 21st century, the developed technologies in the fields of biotechnology, genetics, life science, medical inelligence, space exploration as well as ecological and energy innovations will be particularly important.
The development of ecological innovations, technological innovations, energy RES, material innovations that support replacing substitutes with exhausted resources of energy, innovations that improve the economic efficiency of reclaiming processes, innovations reducing reclamation costs of environment devastated by industry etc. will determine the implementation and development of the sustainable model in the future development of national economies.
In view of the above, it is important to develop research techniques and instruments to improve the instruments for conducted research using the latest available analytical technologies, currently mainly in the field of advanced, computerized processing of large data sets in Big Data database systems.

Science and technology are complementary to each other. The ancient humans developed technologies to survive in earth through different raw materials and tools. They didn't understand the science behind those things. No research was conducted. Everything was generated by trial and error method. Even the animals also go on the same path. I am seeking a constructive discussion regarding arrival of science and technology in human civilization. Which came first?

Science exists since the day on which universe was created. We may have found the answers to many questions related to science later. But it does not mean that it was not there before. In 1687, Newton presented his theory of universal gravitation and three laws of motion. Does it mean that law of gravity didn't exist before it was demonstrated by Newton?
Science is investigated but technology is created. In the words of Albert Einstein, “Scientists investigate that which already is; engineers create that which has never been.”
Everything can be explained by science. We have not created science, it was there before us and before everything. As per Collins English dictionary, "Technology refers to methods, systems, and devices which are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes".
So, application of science to develop new devices, systems or methods is called technology.

Each of the approaches mentioned in my previous post has a different focus and therefore different conclusions on the link between science and technology. The link is not as straightforward under most interpretations as put forward by Theodore (which comes from the thinking of Bunge[1] and other philosophers of science. This point of view been abundantly criticized especially from sociologist following Kuhnian views). The link may be less evident as shown in the literature on more sociological approaches (see for example [2]). A point of view that can be exactly the opposite of what Theodore said can also be put forward also where the greater contribution flows from technology to science and not the other way around.
I would first define the approach to elaborate this question and then move from that point forward.

Dear all, we are living in a changing world – caused by climate change, pollution and shortage of resources. That’s only the half of it. The inverse side is: We are watching an incredible development of completely new possibilities in science and technology, also in agriculture. Some Key words: Artificial intelligence, big data, precision farming, spot farming, nanotechnology, gene engineering and more. How can these new opportunities help us solve the problems caused by climate change, pollution and shortage of resources to secure nutrition of humanity? What results from this for current requirements in applied research in plant nutrition? And what does it mean for teaching at university to make agriculture students fit for future in research but also in agricultural practice?
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Jaime, you have addressed a very serious problem. Unfortunately, there are really examples of how personal and those of companies are placed above the interests of humanity. But should there be any new developments just because this danger? In earlier times, the technique development in uniform farm management leads to the increasing size of fields. The basic necessities of cultivated plants were not in the focus of such a production system. But now resources like water, nutrients as phosphorus or nitrogen are becoming scarcer. Their efficiency in use must therefore be increased. Climate change is intensifying these processes. Intensive farming to date has an impact on biodiversity and damage the soil. The aims of biodiversity and soil conservation, efficiency resources and sustainable intensification of agricultural production to secure the nutrition of mankind have to be equated. To explore new alternatives in plant production we need the help of modern technique. One new method is spot farming. Here the requirements of single crop are in focus. This allows use the resources to be targeted, efficient and environmental friendly.
Jaime, your argument has inspired me, to ask a new question for discussion in RG concerning this. Kind regards, Petra

Every process natural or not impacts nature. This is the main argument of people that do not believe in the impact of humans in the environment. The problem with this reslonse is that it is not the fact of the impact itself but the volume and frequency. Take for example the pacific garbage patch. At the beginning it was small but when nature is not capable of decomposing the plastic and we increase the rate of garbage on our ocean, then it becomes a problem. It becomes a problem of fish ingesting plastic and then impacting the rest of the food chain.
I put the pacific garbage patch because it is nondebatable of who is the source. With global warming there are still people questioning the impact of humans on the environment. We do impact it no doubt, there is no way to claim that our processes are totally self contained as per the first sentence of this answer.

I am looking at residual stress buildup during cooling in a bar with temperature dependant modulus and a constant coefficient of thermal expansion. The bar is constrained at either end so that it cannot contract. During cooling the thermal expansion causes a thermal strain which creates a stress in the bar. I have modelled this scenario in Abaqus. I want to verify this simple model against a closed form solution so that I can progress to more complex models with confidence.
Abaqus is calculating the thermal stress as:
stress =alpha*deltaT*modulus or stress=total strain*modulus
The final stress is equal to the total strain*final modulus.
So in this situation according to Abaqus the final stress is dependant only on the final strain and the final modulus.
I thought that to calculate thermal stress during cooling you needed to sum the thermal stress incrementally to account for temperature dependant material properties.
I.E. stress=alpha*deltaT1*E1+alpha*deltaT2*E2+alpha*deltaT3*E3...
This methodology (applied to composites) is used in [1].
When the material properties are not temperature dependant both methodologies are equivalent.
Although this seems like a simple problem I have not been able to get to the bottom of it. Any help or useful literature on this would be appreciated.

Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Martin,
Thanks for the feedback.
I did not describe the Modelling process I used with Abaqus correctly. I split the analysis into about 10 increments. I then ran a job for each increment with constant material properties which represented the material properties at that temperature. I then summed the stress from each job manually. This resulted in the final stress equal to the closed form incremental solution.
In the example that I looked at this gave a different result to running the analysis in one step with temperature dependant material properties.
I used the same CTE values for both analyses, the only difference being for the single step approach they varied with temperature.
Thanks again for your input.

Collective intelligence enables the accumulation of knowledge, culture, science and technology and, in stable political physical and economic environments, improves economic well-being. So is collective intelligence all good? Science magazine this week reviewed Steven Pinker’s new book, Enlightenment Now, which might relate to these issues. On the other hand, suppose the collective capacity of society to reduce the predilection of some individuals for vanity, deceit, power, self-aggrandizement, and violence, even if this is a shrinking minority suppose, is not as effective or great as society’s ability to improve stuff and economic well-being. Then the dangers that advanced technologies pose to human beings and other species might not be as controllable as we suppose. It would take fewer and fewer of the violent minority to cause more and more damage. So it may be that while collective intelligence creates enormous benefits, it multiplies dangers. What do you think?

I am currently working with some colleagues on a textbook for first year french university students. Our editor is one of the leaders for science and technology related books in France, so this will (hopefully) be a good quality publication. The editorial line is to issue a highly visual manual, as easily readable as possible, but of course scientifically accurate.
To achieve this goal, we need high quality scientific pictures to illustrate the book. We are looking for copyright free images in order to lower the book price as much as possible, so that first year students can afford it.
Of course, the name of the people/organization who provided the images will be mentioned in the book.
I am mainly looking for pictures of membranes and organels, in cryo-EM, SEM and/or TEM, to illustrate the basics of cellular biology. I am also looking for cell types in particular : Leydig cells, muscles,... Send me a message if you think you can help, I will provide you the list of the pictures I am looking for!
Many thanks!
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Wolfgang,
Many thanks for your interest. The textbook is a general biology textbook, and I am only in charge of the "cellular biology" an "membranes" chapters. So this needs to stay simple, as it is aimed at first year students only. Thus, I need "normal" cells examples. I do not need semithin resin sections because I am not in charge of the hystology and physiology chapters.
Here is a list of the images I still need to find (TEM images mostly):
-High resolution plasma membrane cross section, showing the lipid bilayer
-Endocytosis or exocytosis figures that I can assemble to illustrate transcytosis
-One beautiful representative animal cell with most main organelles
-Budding yeast (SEM or TEM)
-gap junctions
-adherens junctions
-smooth endoplasmic reticulum
-Nucleus with nucleolus, hetero and euchromatin
-lysosomes
Thank again for your answer, I hope this clarifies my demand.

This is a worthwhile question with many possible answers. In addition to @Amir W. Al-Khafaji's very interesting answer, there is a bit more to add.
In North America, science, mathematics and technology are mixed together. When that mix becomes dominated by technology, there is a tendency for students to become too dependent on what the technology tells them.
In Europe, the situation varies from country to country. In Italy, for example, classical education in science and mathematics is more important than technology. In that case, the potential for the birth of great scientists and mathematicians is greater than it is in North America.
The prevalence of classical education is also very high in universities in the Middle East. The situation is very mixed as we move towards Asia. For example, students in Mathematics in Pakistan receive very high level training. Perhaps the followers of this thread can comment on the situation in Taiwan, China and India or in Korea and Japan.

Many students state reason for not being able to learn math, science, or technology due to a teacher, parent, or leader telling them they couldn't. Most carry that same bias through adult hood and that is why faculty do not accept technological change in their classrooms. Incompetency for faculty to teach and assist students in the classroom is low and knowledge-based technology can help with eliminating those bias.
Relevant answer
Answer
The command on the subject and capability to convince the subjects are important traits of a teacher to eliminate such a bias. I recall one of my students in my course"Chemical Basis of Environment"who spoke loudly "Sir! we are going to study chemistry et al". My reply was that , "Let us start pleasantly .and after a few classes you will say Sir! Teach us more, we have started taking interest in Chemistry because scientific method of yours delivering piece meals have made it interesting for us." The girl not only learnt Chemistry from me but also started taking general guidance. Chemistry, being a technological subject, changed the views of many students because most of them got equipped with logical approach in their travel over the track of real lie. Sometimes exposure of the students to the technology in action makes them learn more with practical elaborations.. Anyhow, it is vast field and much can be said in this context but it is better to stop here and come back after having a look of what others say.

I want to know the reason(s) because to me, this attitude seems to be detrimental to the development of young and  research-oriented researchers from developing/under developed countries. I believe strongly that studies in developed countries/regions with adequate cutting edge techniques need to be readily available to researchers in the South for global scientific development. Many Universities in the South are not well-funded to the extent that it will be hard to make subscriptions for these highly-rated scholarly journal outlets and I believe if scientists from these developed nations can be magnanimous enough to provide these findings to researchers in the South, these will go a long way in improving  Science &Technology of the South.

Of course, an addition of 15% FeO even makes several effects:
  1. The glass becomes "shorter" than before: the temperature range of the shaping is significantly shorter because the glass becomes liquid at high temperatures.
  2. The inclination to crystallize the glass increases: more crystals will grow in less time than otherwise. The composition, shape and sizes of the crystallites will also be different. Iron-containing glass ceramics show on average a coarser crystallization.
  3. Temperature of crystallization will decrease.
  4. The mechanical and chemical properties of the material will change somewhat (strength, hardness and fracture toughness will decrease).
  5. Color becomes black
