Hello, I do not personally think that translator training (translation teaching) is receiving less attention. There is plenty of research on the topic of translation pedagogy. I agree with the fact that translators and teachers in translation may be two distinct kinds of professionals. Lecturers need to find effective ways and tools to teach their students, they must develop empathy and propose materials that are not too easy for their students, but also not too demanding. In practice, teaching materials must be challenging and interesting. So source texts must be carefully selected, as well as translation tools and strategies.

In my opinion, the development of artificial intelligence technologies and applications, including the use of AI machines, robots, AI chatbots, AI virtual robots and AI agents in various sectors of the economy, will probably have a major impact on future labour markets. As a result of the changes in the labour market caused by the development of AI applications, some human professions will become less important and some jobs will be lost, while new professions and jobs will be created for people who operate IT systems, machines, robots, chatbots, etc. equipped with artificial intelligence. equipped with artificial intelligence technology.
The coming era of artificial intelligence, referred to as the fifth technological revolution, Industry 5.0, will bring about profound changes in labour markets that require careful analysis and preparation. On the one hand, progressive automation driven by AI will inevitably lead to the elimination of many jobs, especially those based on routine and repetitive tasks, which may result in increased unemployment in certain sectors. On the other hand, the development of AI will open up new job opportunities, creating demand for specialists in fields such as AI engineering, data analysis and AI ethics. In addition, many existing jobs will be transformed and workers will need to acquire new skills to work effectively with intelligent systems. The key challenge will therefore be to adapt to these changes by investing in education and training that will enable workers to retrain and acquire the skills of the future. Research plays an invaluable role here, providing knowledge about trends in labour markets, identifying occupations at risk of automation and forecasting the demand for new skills, which will enable the development of effective adaptation strategies.
The research and observations I have conducted show that artificial intelligence technology has been developing rapidly in recent years and is finding new applications, with new opportunities and threats emerging. I have described the main determinants, including the potential opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology, in my article below:

Positive impact:
Creates new jobs - The development of AI will create completely new professions related to the management, development and application of new technologies. For example, the demand for professions such as AI engineers, data analysts, robotics specialists will increase.
Increases efficiency - AI will increase the productivity of companies and allow people to engage in creative and complex problem-solving tasks by automating repetitive and tedious tasks.
New business opportunities will emerge - New products and services will be created based on AI, which will create great opportunities for startups and enterprises.
Flexible labor market - Remote and freelance work opportunities will expand, as physical location becomes less important thanks to AI tools.
Negative impacts:

In recent years, there have been various theories, sometimes partially contradictory to each other, about the impact of AI development on labor markets. Some researchers on this issue advocate pessimistic theories suggesting serious threats to labor markets due to the development of AI technology and its various applications resulting in AI taking jobs away from people. On the other hand, there are researchers of this issue who claim that new technologies and solutions and applications of AI will rather generate a lot of new jobs, new professions and occupations performed by people using certain applications equipped with AI.
What do you think will be the impact of AI development on labor markets? Do you favor rather negative or positive scenarios for the labor markets that will develop in the future under the influence of the development of various applications of AI technology? In your opinion, will artificial intelligence take jobs away from people in the future, or will the development of AI, its applications, the emergence of new applications equipped with AI, more AI agents rather create new jobs, new professions and occupations performed by people?

I have been researching this for many years and studied psychotherapy in both London University and Middlesex. I have many papers on here and elsewhere, which examine the subject, I believe, thoroughly.
My conclusion:
A discipline of opinion with a concentration on 'identity'. The drugs, which became a speciality of mine, I consider extremely dangerous; dangers that are ignored by the profession.
Psychiatry gets immense credibility from its connection to medicine (of course), an extremely and excessively powerful institution, but also to the drug companies.

I would like to know the professions where females are more than males in this world.

In the US workforce, women dominate the nursing profession (92%), social services professions, and teaching professions. However, the most important trend is that the number of women now in graduate education outnumbers men. They are moving into the more advanced professions. In 2022, 8% of men and 12% of women earned an advanced degree. Medical schools, law schools, dental schools and pharmacy programs all graduate more women than men. Women are also increasing attendance in business schools but not yet at a higher rate than men. One explanation for this is the current legal freedom for women to enter colleges. The other explanation is simple math. IQ scores are said to be equally distributed between men and women and typically graduate schools require IQ scores above 115 - 120 at a minimum. That means that in 2023, approximately 51% of these higher-IQ individuals were females and now allowed, legally and culturally, to attend graduate schools.
It will be interesting to know how many countries legally support women getting advanced degrees.

Like with all professions, interpersonal dynamics are crucial, though arguably it matters more for some fields and at some places more than others. For example, you really need reasonable interpersonal skills if you want to run a lab or research group properly - but you would need it even if you were more of traditional solo humanities scholar who always publishes alone, since you need to work with your colleagues to agree on teaching and governance as well as with non-academic staff for administration of the department, managing grants, organizing conferences, etc. Like with every profession, some people are better at this than others: so many young scholars leave academia because of awful senior people who are just bad managers, bullies, or only interested in growing their own power, but there have recently been high-profile cases (in the UK) where the bullies have faced consequences so there may be hope yet. The general rule of 'be a good person' should be followed.

Profiteering-from-disease Rasha A Waheeb has become the standard model of the medical profession, i.e. the disease-centered model of treatment (mainly drugs and surgery) is consequently a low empathy model, based on monetary profit.
It has to be mentioned here that treatment and healing are not the same; there exist other practical models for the medical profession, e.g. person-centered health care, integral health care, but the physician is always part of a society, i.e. certain working conditions, e.g. highly industrialized medical institutions.
Data on the health of health of (our) physicians are also alarming, i.e. the whole machinery comes with a price to pay, not only for the patients.
Conclusion:
A change in perspective is a must. As long as ‘modern medicine’ adheres to the tenets of ‘classical science’, subjects will be regarded as objects, consciousness will be reduced to (DNA) matter, and living beings as cadavers. This is not a figure of speech. Medical students still spend much time studying cadavers; without considering how this alienates them from contact with living beings.
Modern medicine manipulates politicians and the public by referring to the merits of classical science. Classical science is a deadly foundation for health care ! Classical science addressed invariance: action + reaction=0///No-change).Invariance was traditionally called Hell (closed system).
Modern’ medicine uses the philosophy of mechanical material control and domination (a war model) to overrule all ‘other’ forms of healing.
Few people (and fewer doctors) are aware how the medical model is crippled by ‘belief’ in classical science. The mechanistic material model is associated with control and mass production; it was developed for (and from) the study of inert matter. Living beings are thereby regarded by the mechanical material ‘laws of inertia/dead matter’.
Since 1900 science underwent drastic changes, not matter, but information is now the essence. The focus shifted from (classical, material) matter of physics, to (relativistic, molecular) chemical processes, to (probabilistic, atomic) electromagnetic interactions, and now to (phase-field) information integrity. All of these considerations can be recognised in the living being; but still need to be included in the classical medical model.

The recent rapid development of generative artificial intelligence applications is increasingly changing labor markets. The development of generative artificial intelligence applications is increasing the scale of objectification of work performed within various professions. On the one hand, generative artificial intelligence technologies are finding more and more applications in companies, enterprises and institutions increasing the efficiency of certain business processes supporting employees working in various positions. However, there are increasing considerations about the possibility of black scenarios coming true in futurological projections suggesting that in the future many jobs will be completely replaced by autonomic AI-equipped robots, androids or systems operating in cloud computing. On the other hand, in opposition to the black scenarios of future developments in labor markets are contrasted with more positive scenarios presenting futuristic projections of the development of labor markets, where new professions will be created thanks to the implementation of generative artificial intelligence technology into various aspects of economic activity. Which of these two scenarios will be realized to a greater extent in the future is currently not easy to predict precisely.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:

Teaching profession is unfortunately not a preferred option in present and future generation for various social reasons across the globe.
Inspite of this, we have to prepare at least 10% higher education level students to take up this profession with following strategies:
1. Primarily a passion for it. 2. Annual salary should be comparable in the society around ( local government always give appropriate guidelines). 3. An appropriate initial training and self update is a must. 4. An annual teacher’s assessment report by students community. 5. From primary to highest level of education - all teachers are equally important for the growth of the system.

For my personal experience, I've followed the European parcours ECTS and I well equiped for the market in EU and abroad. The issue here is like when I check the Job requirement for my country 'CAMEROON', I realize that they are both differents and the assets and techonolgies used there for management are a little urged or no well knows maybe due to the type of pratice of management there but I do believe that we all want to reach the same purpose which is making the Business growth in all area. Therefore, it seems like the Cameroonian market is kind of a little close for International areas and this could explain why the investment there could be complicated. Maybe it will change with the Globalization but for now it's a little stuck.

Before I retired (2012), I was a nurse practitioner for bladder & bowel health on the community. I used to have my own caseload, help others nursing on the community if my expertise was required, and teach.
I seem to remember that people stayed in their jobs and some, I had known for years.
We were all happy to work together and didn't leave work to others.
I would have liked people to have promoted continence a bit more, but tried to lead by a good example.
And people still remember me today! Some are professionals and some were clients. But as there was only one of me in my (large) geographical area but lots of them, I don't always remember who is speaking to me. But nice that they do!

Education reform efforts often focus on top-down policies and initiatives mandated by administrators and policymakers. However, research increasingly shows that lasting change is driven from the ground up - by teachers leading and mobilizing improvements in their classrooms, schools, and districts.
But what do we know about teachers as change agents? A recent systematic review published in Emerald Open Research aimed to synthesize current knowledge on this important topic. The review uncovered five key insights:
  1. Teacher change agents are mainly viewed as implementers of top-down change rather than leading grassroots efforts. Most of the research conceptualizes teacher leaders as delivering reforms handed down by higher authorities. There has been little focus on teachers initiating bottom-up improvements based on their own values and priorities.
  2. Effective change agents have certain key traits like strong subject knowledge, a growth mindset, and collaboration skills. Years of experience and mastery of content also help teacher leaders gain respect and influence colleagues.
  3. Teacher change agents drive reform through inquiry, introducing ideas, testing innovations, and refining practices. Rather than just disseminating information, they actively engage peers in developing and applying new approaches.
  4. Rigorous evidence is limited, but teacher leaders can positively impact teaching practices and student outcomes. For example, studies associate teacher leadership with improved math and reading achievement.
  5. Enabling factors include principal support, teacher buy-in, training, and autonomy. Lack of resources, resistance, and unclear roles are barriers for teacher change efforts.
Clearly, teachers are central to the hard work of improving schools. But major knowledge gaps remain when it comes to bottom-up, teacher-led change. As education moves forward, we need more research on how teachers can effectively lead reforms for the benefit of both students and the teaching profession. Teachers have immense knowledge and experience to contribute if given the opportunity.

Much of my research has been in the area of Teacher Efficacy. Something I have noticed anecdotally but have not had an opportunity to explore through detailed research is the disparity between what research and experience of teachers say is good teaching and that administrators and legislators say teachers are required to do. While researching both individual and collective teacher efficacy, I found that many teachers are reluctant to discuss things like their ideas for change out of fear of reprisal from those higher ups who have not yet dictated that change is acceptable. Again, I haven't had the chance to deeply explore this through research and perhaps my observations are limited to a sample size that, compared to the Education System as a whole, is quite small. Still, it does seem to make sense and match my observations that at least one reason why few teachers make an attempt to change from the bottom up is that they fear consequences will be imposed by administrators or politicians. Teachers can be excellent agents of change, but only if they are within the educational system. If they attempt to make grass-roots changes and upset parents or principals or politicians and get removed from the educational system, they can affect no change at all.
I would suggest that the best way to support teachers as agents of change is to listen to teachers. This means including practicing teachers in discussions about laws and policies and testing and test questions. It means asking teachers what they need in their classrooms and what they are doing that is working. It means allowing teachers to have agency over their classrooms and sometimes it means taking a step back and allowing teachers to push for change without punishment.

I am looking into submitting an abstract at the Occupational Science Europe Conference 2023 (Denmark)--and eventually publishing it as a paper--about how occupational therapy, as a profession and as a service, for the middle class population?
I have parked this idea for two years now but for 2023, it will be nice to illuminate about the potential exclusivity of occupational therapy to middle class professionals, students, and end users. Whilst middle class means differently from various perspectives and cultures, it is defined conceptually as a socioeconomic status in-between the upperclass and the working class. This class is constituted of people who are educated (with higher education degrees), employed in stable jobs, have a disposable income (due to multiple income sources) to afford minor luxuries to live a privileged lifestyle, and have a mindset of achieving quality of life and improving lifestyles. This group of people are also the ones who can afford services such as occupational therapy either by health insurance systems or out-of-pocket expenses.
More than merely speculating that the middle class (and above) are the only ones who can afford occupational therapy services, especially in low-middle income countries, there is a need to create a tangible evidence base to see if occupational therapy, as a profession, is true to its tenets of supporting ALL those in need of health and social care? Or is occupational therapy just available for a chosen few?

My answer, dear Gennady Fedulov , is that in most cases of intelligence officers, the life expectancy or longevity is not very long. The stress level is almost unimaginable, the physical danger is considerable and the more active, aggressive and successful one is, the more quickly one's cover erodes; most are often going back pushing paper in an office , many burn out and move on, die in the line of duty or commit suicide.
However, I do believe that civil intelligence enhances individuals' care of their own health, because it represents learning, reasoning, and problem-solving skills useful in preventing chronic disease and accidental injury and in adhering to complex treatment regimens.
In any case, this a much neglected research area, where we still need more solid data.

There are different roles for an ESP practitioner. If an ESP practitioner transforms completely understanding all her/his roles, it will enhance students' communication skills. However, there are many teachers working in nursing, marine, aviation, hotel management, tourism development etc. colleges are not aware of their role as an ESP practitioner. Most of them are not even aware of their different role as an ESP practitioner. English Language teaching in professional colleges are similar to any other colleges. They do not design the course, they do not have enough knowledge about the students' future needs in their profession i.e. needs analysis is not being carried out. -Elsevier once founded by some individuals and is named after and old Dutch family Elzevir (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elsevier). The fact that a few individuals run the whole business is not uncommon
-All sorts of constructions and links with other companies is not uncommon. Nowadays Elsevier is part of the RELX Group (which is a British-Dutch multinational information and analytics company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RELX)

The peer review system and serious indexing services (like Scopus, Clarivate’s SCIE/SSCI, PubMed and DOAJ) are, though not flawless, basically the best guarantee ‘we’ got that the publishing processes fulfil a certain degree of scientific rigour.

This is the biggest doubt and worry in my life with regard to my profession (agriculturalist)!!! Once upon a time, I raised my heartfelt question to farmers. My question was "Is being a farmer profitable?"
The farmers' answers were really wonderful and may keep you speechless "professional".
They answered it this way:
  • "If a farmer could calculate all his/her costs/risks, there would be no farmer at all."
  • "We farmers are not living for profit but for survival."
  • Others exceptionally answered it this way: "God is wise for creating death because He is the only thinker for farmers. Farmers take rest only when they die." This is the reason why death is also called "REST".
  • etc.
Farmers never had rest, and work day and night for the whole year. Keep their livestock, till the land, feed oxen, then come sowing, weeding, fertilizing, irrigation, fencing, harvesting, threshing, packaging, transporting, marketing.. and a lot. The farmers have felt the pains hit by rain, wind, cold, and heat/drought during their harsh livelihood. The farmers get all their sweets on;y from their sweat. Blessed to be a farmer!!!!!
The farmers put everything they can to the farm, but the traders "get the price" without tilling the land, weeding, threshing, harvesting, etc. Here comes the prominent saying "TRUTH is stranger than FICTION".
What do you think is the problem? How can it be solved in the future?
Things to be considered rationally for the fruitness of this discussion:
  • Who is a FARMER? (Particularly smallholder, an uneducated, poor farmer, etc.)
  • Who is the farm-product TRADER?
  • What should be the TRUE PROFIT of a real trader (I doubt if we have real traders!!!)
  • Say, I am a farm-product trader and I bought it from a farmer say with 100 dollars; for how much should I sell it for a reasonable profit? 10%, 100%, 1000% or what?
  • Why is trading full of fake acts? (at least in my context)!!!

Farmers are getting poorer and poorer compared to the farm- product traders due to the fact that farmers do not have strong and vibrant farmer-based group or association. The farm-product traders have a strong group who agree on certain price of commodities. Farmers become more prone to these farm product traders.
Lack of ready market for most of the produces. One of the key setback farmers faced in the Africa is none market for them to trade their produce.
Lack of buffer stock or factories to turn these produces into finished products.
Lack of fund for farmers or moderate credit or loans. Most of our local farmers are hand to mouth farmers and do not have the prerequisites to venture into farming hence a great setback of farming. There are instances when the loan is available but at higher interest rate.

We have been witnessing lot of discussion on outcome based education and emphasis on cognitive development and assessment of learning as per Bloom's taxonomy.
We just wonder about the excellent teachers we had and many of their students excelled in their profession without going through such type of education and testing process.
Do we have a need to change our past system by more rigorous and demanding exercise of outcome based education?

I think there are three domains of learning Cognitive,affective and psychomotor. Hands on skill are covered by psychomotor domain and behaviour and attitude to learning is covered by affective domain and unless and until you have right dimensions of affective domain your cognitive domain will not work properly.
In the past learning was assumed if one can apply successfully the knowledge gained from one context to a new context.

Haji Karim Khan I think the first major implication should be to identify students who were not able to perform remote activities, whether due to accessibility / internet problems, economic issues for subsistence or even emotional / psychological. Create conditions so that these students can recover the contents and activities to accompany the others. But also for those who were able to perform remote activities that will need emotional / psychological support, for example those who lost family members who were victims of COVID-19. And then think about how to reinvent yourself from now on, that is in creating infrastructure conditions so that in need of carrying out remote activities, the problems experienced will not be repeated. Unfortunately, the nursing profession in Iran is very weak, nursing care is traditionally done.
Nursing documentation, satisfaction, and interaction of the patient-nurse is very weak.
The nursing process in Iran is only in the form of research proposals.
In the first step in promoting nursing, we did an extensive study to identify of the implementation strategies the nursing process in different countries and to investigate the causes of non-implementation of the nursing process in developing countries. And the result of this extensive study is a review article entitled "Barriers to non-implementation of the nursing process in developing countries: A narrative review".
Given your vast background in this area, please help me in editing the article in terms of content and translation from you as an author.

Architectural institutions are taking their activities online as COVID-19 forces them to consider replacing real-world interactions with virtual alternatives. We are a physical being and our learning spaces are designed for that moving, exploring, and encounter. Will it change the paradigm of architecture education.
And what about practice???.. Do you think our design strategies will change???

Pashmeena Vikramjit Ghom this is an important question you are asking. Most contributions received focus on one aspect: the education on the topic of architecture, and the modalities of teaching and learning.
I would like to raise another aspect of your question: teach and learn an architecture which has to be different if it wants to address "living in the pandemic era".
The design of living spaces, from the bedroom, the apartment, its facilities, the houses, the streets, the buildings and desirably attached gardens, all this is now seen with new eyes.
The new architects being trained now will have to answer the questions of those living through the pandemic:
-(1) what apartment have you designed for me?
It's turning to a nightmare: three to five, six persons sharing an apartment, one toilet, one bathroom. How can the occupiers deal with one of them being contaminated? If people share meals, it is enough to share 6 meals (two days) for everybody to have a probability of more than 90% to be contaminated too...
The living hell of the closed spaces not designed to provide privacy/face isolation needs of infectious people in the household. The architects will bear the responsibility for what will be seen as a structural design fault, the next time a pandemic happens. Statistics show that virus death rates are higher in less wealthy parts of one city, where people cannot isolate, cannot have a separate bathroom for infected/not infected occupiers.
-(2) what open air space have you designed for me?
I know of people forced to live alone in an apartment, and not go out (elderly persons), with no virus-safe access to a balcony or a garden, just to be outside for a few minutes. This will be seen as a negative feature of a housing project if it misses some building access to a safe garden, where people can stretch their legs, and breath outdoors every day, during lockdown times.
I know people who have a city apartment and a country house, even a small one. Many of them escaped the city. Doing so they propagated the virus to places less at risk before they arrived. This is irresponsible behaviour, going outside cities, bringing virus risk, bringing further pressure on rural hospitals not dimensioned for such influx of part-time residents, whereas city hospitals have suitable infrastructure for the inhabitants of the city.
The fault is to ill-designed buildings, ill-designed cities.
-(3) Have you thought of urban designs robust to the pandemic?
You want people to be able to walk safely, with needed social distancing supported by floor marking (which can be creative and styled), grocery shop and pharmacy shop access, where standing lines is reasonable (think of too much sun, too much rain on a line of people waiting, think of social distance allowance).
-(4) What is a post-pandemic work place?
I will not go into details, but there is indoor design and outdoor design, technical aspects, decoration, artistic aspects.
This is true for a factory as well as for an office. Work places will have to be robust to pandemic, support the needs of workers and organisations.
I have just highlighted 4 areas, where Architectural Education will need to provide answer. There is no guilt for today's architects not to have designed for pandemic robustness. There will be a guilt for tomorrow's architects if they don not learn from the pandemic, and address the needs which have materialised clearly.

Currently, Covid-19 causes disruptions in supply chains and procurement processes. We are already in a recession, and may feel the impact of Covid-19 for a long time.

I believe that the development of a sociological community of interests to be crucial for the consolidation of the profession of the sociologist. In many countries, weak forms of sociological association are not supporting sociologists working in non-academic settings with regards to interprofessional conflicts and a public presence that conveys and transmits the usefulness of the profession and the discipline. Sociologists rarely use the skills acquired through formal education to strengthen their position in the labor market through collective actions.

Why are the occupational outcomes of sociology graduates still not satisfactory? The sociologist working in non-academic settings can rely on a set of disciplinary skills and capabilities, such as evaluation, planning and organisation of services, health policy, organisational analysis, and communication. Compared to the recent past, the professional identity of the sociologist working in non-academic settings is better defined, with more commonly shared required skills and operative domains. Research does not constitute the unique capabilities of sociological practice. If you are doing survey research with questionnaires, then you should keep the questions the same throughout. If you are doing qualitative interviews with open ended questions, then you have more options. In particular, you might consider starting each of the interviews with the same 1 or 2 broad questions that you could compare across all the interviews, and then after that ask questions that are more targeted to the specific expertise of a given participant.
