I am writing an article for a magazine with the theme being "happiness and other affections in literature". My article is about how music lyrics that highlights emotions such as sadness and resentment have the opposite effect in some individuals, offering them ways to cope with emotions considered negative and making them happier people in a way, through a non standard affection.
I am an undergraduate anthropology student and any help, be it with the references for the article or suggestions about which way to go, will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping business—though not at the blistering pace many assume. True, AI is now guiding decisions on everything from crop harvests to bank loans, and once pie-in-the-sky prospects such as totally automated customer service are on the horizon. The technologies that enable AI, like development platforms and vast processing power and data storage, are advancing rapidly and becoming increasingly affordable. The time seems ripe for companies to capitalize on AI. Indeed, we estimate that AI will add $13 trillion to the global economy over the next decade.
Yet, despite the promise of AI, many organizations’ efforts with it are falling short. We’ve surveyed thousands of executives about how their companies use and organize for AI and advanced analytics, and our data shows that only 8% of firms engage in core practices that support widespread adoption. Most firms have run only ad hoc pilots or are applying AI in just a single business process.
Why the slow progress? At the highest level, it’s a reflection of a failure to rewire the organization. In our surveys and our work with hundreds of clients, we’ve seen that AI initiatives face formidable cultural and organizational barriers. But we’ve also seen that leaders who at the outset take steps to break down those barriers can effectively capture AI’s opportunities.

Does the diversity of specializations in a single research increase the chances of it being cited? Is this closely related to the researchers’ nationality, their place of work, and their being editors in magazines or publishing houses?
This is the French version of the article that appeared in Nature magazine in 1936, co-authored with Huxley.
Famous mathematicians are failing each day to prove the Riemann's Hypothesis even if Clay Mathematics Institute proposes a prize of One Million Dollars for the proof.
The proof of Riemann's Hypothesis would allow us to understand better the distribution of prime numbers between all numbers and would also allow its official application in Quantics. However, many famous scientists still refuse the use of Riemann's Hypothesis in Quantics as I read in an article of Quanta Magazine.
Why is this Hypothesis so difficult to prove? And is the Zeta extension really useful for Physics and especially for Quantics ? Are Quantics scientists using the wrong mathematical tools when applying Riemann's Hypothesis ? Is Riemann's Hypothesis announcing "the schism" between abstract mathematics and Physics ? Can anyone propose a disproof of Riemann's Hypothesis based on Physics facts?
Here is the link to the article of Natalie Wolchover:
The zeros of the Riemann zeta function can also be caused by the use of rearrangements when trying to find an image by the extension since the Lévy–Steinitz theorem can happen when fixing a and b.
Suppositions or axioms should be made before trying to use the extension depending on the scientific field where it is demanded, and we should be sure if all the possible methods (rearrangements of series terms) can give the same image for a known s=a+ib.
You should also know that the Lévy–Steinitz theorem was formulated in 1905 and 1913, whereas, the Riemann's Hypothesis was formulated in 1859. This means that Riemann who died in 1866 and even the famous Euler never knew the Lévy–Steinitz theorem.

There is a magazine called International Journal of Molecular Sciences. Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI). Do you have any information about this magazine? For example, what is the author's agreement with the editors of the magazine for publishing articles? Where is this agreement written down?

PRAGMATICS AND HUMOR
It is amazing how many ways we have of displaying and presenting various types of lexical and pragmatic information. These displays and presentations are at various levels of abstraction, detail and presentation medium. They are chosen to represent time, space, significance, and other relative differences.
Consider the following: Advertisement, Audio-Visual Aid, Bar Graph, Bell-Shaped Curve, Blood Lines, Caricature, Cartoon, Category, Cause-Effect Line, Chain of Command, Chinese Boxes, Drawing, Family Tree, Floor Plan, Flow Chart, Hierarchy, Map, Matrix, Musical Score, Outline, Photograph, Diagram (e.g. Reed Kellogg), Set, Sketch, Time Line, Tree Diagram, Venn Diagram, etc. This lexical and pragmatic information can be presented over various mediums. Consider the following: Book, Card Catalogue, Catalogue, Chalk Board, Cell Phone, Internet, Journal, Magazine, Movie, PowerPoint, Radio, Skype, Teleconference, Telephone, Video Stream, Webinar, White Board, Zoom, etc. And information can be organized alphabetically, numerically, sequentially, spatially, etc.
Lexical items can also be semantically weighted, and related to other lexical items in various ways, and these weightings and relationships can be quantified (always, usually, sometimes, seldom, never, etc. I believe that the most important feature of Linguistics Pragmatics is that it is unlike all of the other levels of linguistics (Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, and Semantics) by being a non-linear approach. Kenneth Pike said that language can be viewed as Particles, as Waves (assimilation or dissimilation), or as Field. It is only Pragmatics that looks at language as Field (see above).
Another very important aspect of Pragmatics is the developing field of Script-Model Grammar. Victor Raskin is a linguist, and linguists tend to deal with one sentence at a time. Script Model Grammar allows linguists to deal with larger texts. Raskin talks about the structure of a joke by saying that everything in the set-up of the joke is ambiguous but primed in the direction of the mundane. What the punch line of a joke does is to change the priming of the joke from the mundane to the dramatic, or scatological, etc. At this point the audience is able to see that the entire joke—set-up and punch line—have been ambiguous, and that the punch line has just changed the priming. Because the punch line allows the audience to see all of the ambiguity of the joke (both mundane and dramatic), the punch line is very epiphanal.
Using the techniques of Script-Model Grammar as developed by Victor Raskin, Salvatore Attardo and others, develop a number of mundane scripts for your computer, as follows:
Eating at a restaurant
Getting a haircut
Getting dressed in the morning
Going to a concert
Going to a movie
Telling a joke or a story
Traveling by car
Traveling by plane
Traveling by subway
Traveling by train
Etc.
Tell your computer the details of the script in terms of a sequence of behaviors. For example, consider the script of “eating at a restaurant.”
1. You get hungry.
2. You look for a restaurant.
3. You find a restaurant.
4. You walk into the restaurant.
5. You’re seated by someone.
6. The server brings you a menu.
7. You look at the menu.
8. You order your meal.
9. You eat your meal.
10. Someone brings you a bill.
11. You pay the bill.
12. You leave a tip.
13. You leave the restaurant.
But what if one or more of the sequence of behaviors is missing? Or what if one or more behaviors are added to the sequence? The computer can then ask, “Why didn’t he leave a tip? Or “Why did he take his bike into the restaurant?” The computer has been taught how to speculate.
What Victor Raskin did for jokes (small texts), Salvatore Attardo and others did for larger texts (paragraphs, chapters plays, novels, trilogies, etc.). And rather than just dealing with the set-up, the punch-line, and the epiphany of the joke, Attardo developed ways of dealing with double entendre, embodiment, irony, metaphor, metonymy, paradox, parody, sarcasm, satire, synecdoche, allegory, and other types of “language play.” An even more important contribution of Script-Model Grammar, is its applications to the field of Artificial Intelligence. This brings us to the contributions of Christian Hempelmann, Anton Nijholt, Dallin Oaks, Leo Obrst, Maxim Petrenko, Graeme Ritchie, Julia Taylor, Willibald Ruch, Oliviero Stock, Carlo Strapparava, Igor Suslov, and Tony Veale.
Note that Noam Chomsky’s Generative Transformational Grammar has now become Deep Learning in the field of computers. Computers are now able to generate both language and images by receiving input from the entire internet, recombining this information in very sophisticated ways, and producing computer-generated material that is the same as human-generated material, only better. It’s very scary.
i would like to publish my articles in this magazine
I would expect that "An Article in a Web Magazine" is probably the most appropriate MLA citation format.
Based on MLA Formatting and Style Guide, and considering Quora as a web magazine, I would say, in APA:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day of answer). Title of answer [Answer to question]. In Quora. URL of the question.
Note that the format for citing an answer on Quora is similar to citing a blog post or online forum post. If you cannot find all the information required for the citation, include as much information as possible and follow the APA guidelines for citing electronic sources.
What's your opinion?
Imagine: an academic magazine states that it will review a submitted manuscript with one of the 4 following responses:
accepted
accepted after modification
rejected, but may be submitted after major review
definititvely rejected
What does it mean when the editor responds to your manuscript by stating that she "adopts the review of the reviewers", when those are "rejected" and "major revision / reject".
Also: is it normal for editors not to qualify manuscripts unambiguously?

Hello! I am a young researcher and my specialization is "Land management, cadastres and land monitoring" (in Russian it is "ВАК 25.00.26"). I want to publish my research in Scopus and WoS magazines, but I don not know anybody in my University, who have experience with journals on the profile of land management and cadastres (most of scientists have been published in journals on economics or geoinformatics, but not on land management). So, do you know any scientific magazines (not predatory publishing) in this specialisation? Magazines on socio-economic geography and geoinformatics (German-language and English-language editions) will also be suitable.

If the word "newsletter" is in your title then Researchgate randomly selects anything else with that word in the title.
Far better to base that list on tags
P.S. the reason for the additional question mark is that RG seems to want more than one - not very concise about it though
Do you recommend any bases for finding relevant magazines?
Where do you check, for example, how many days until the first decision? What is the average acceptance of manuscripts in the journal?
Magazines for the dissemination of historical figures
I need to vent my frustration! As the editor of a powerful and cost-free magazine for readers, I've been trying to bring researchers from other countries to share their ideas with us. Our magazine is a potent platform interested in circulating ideas from around the world within the Brazilian environment, and the best part is that we don't charge anything for its circulation. Unfortunately, many seem to ignore my messages, possibly due to those damn predatory journals out there, spamming our email inboxes without any quality criteria. It's incredibly frustrating. We need to value legitimate publications and promote quality academic dialogue. Any tips for fostering dialogue?

Cela me rend très frustrée. Nous devons valoriser les publications légitimes et promouvoir un dialogue académique de qualité. Auriez-vous des conseils pour favoriser les échanges ?

How to make a publication credible even if it is not published in any book, newspaper or magazine? Because it is very tedious to be able to be published anywhere, just already the technical constraints of writing are unpleasant for a researcher.

I have just started my doctoral in NLP Domain. As I can see there are a lot of papers in this research area, what I realized while doing a literature review is that good publication, or any publication are complicated and it may take me some years to have something which can be delivered. Thus What is something else I can do apart from publications that might give positive weightage as an academician career-wise, a biweekly newsletter, or some technical paper that goes into some recent outstanding paper in my field
Aubrey et al. (2019) wrote a paper "Subseries/Subepochs approved as a formal rank in the International Stratigraphic Guide" which created clarity for the Holocene, but leaves formalisation of subseries/subepoch names for the rest of the Cainozoic to the respective subcommittees.
This has created a confusing situation for authors of manuscripts and editors of scientific magazines. First because it makes it hard to know the actual status for each and second because it could result in the undesirable situation of (temporarily) having different decisions per series/epoch.
My question is whether this is still the actual status or further progress has been made.
The paper is available on ResearchGate:

Hello everyone,
Recently, we received an invitation from the editorial office of "International Journal of nanomaterials, nanotechnology and nanomedicine" as a long-term reviewer and future editorial board.
We want to know the reputation and true level of this magazine, is it a possible rogue magazine?

I need a proposal about scientific journals in financial and banking sciences that are easy to deal with in terms of speed of response and answer, reliable and not classified within Scopus or Elsevier?
Looking forward to all of your suggestions as I currently had a discussion about that with some of my peers from the department. I will share your answers with them! Thank you very much to everyone.
If the magazine is included in Clarivate and Scopus but does not contain any arrangement of Q numbers within its information, meaning it does not contain any of these quarters, what does it mean?
These journals, especially high-impact ones, submit papers for the purpose of review and comment writing.
We, the auditors, audit and review, follow references and scientific content, study and analyze results, and look at the information sequence and its validity.
These operations take several hours and perhaps days, depending on the search volume.
These high-impact, world-class domains charge a minimum publishing fee of $2,000.
Despite this, our references do not find any financial reward or scientific benefit. Both say thank you and you did a good job.
Or some of them suggest that you add the search you reviewed to a specific site such as publons..
What is the ethical aspect of dealing with these journals, and is their work of scientific ethics?
When do we waste hours and days? What did we gain? What is the return to us?
How do we deal with this research? Are there suggestions to respect and fair reviewers, or to give them discounts for publishing in these magazines or for a specific fee?

Dear fellow researchers, I have published two papers in December 2019 and February 2020 in TEST Engineering & Management Magazine but my name and affiliation were incorrectly stated. I have tried to email, call, and fax the Editor of the Journal to make corrections but sadly the Editor seems irresponsive. Thus, I would be obliged if anyone could kindly assist me with alternative ways to contact the Editor ( (other emails, Whatsapp, or phone number) instead of the contact info provided by the Journal's website or if you know anyone who can I refer and can help me to correct the information in both of my published papers.
Please advise. JazakAllah and thank you very much.

The Impact Factor indicators for scientific journals for 2020 have just been published. More journals boast and celebrate that their IF has increased by a few, a dozen or even several dozen percent. I am intentionally not mentioning what kind of magazines they are. Why?
Because the IF grows for everyone. Every year. what does it mean? Isn't that a bit like a credited science bubble? Every year there are more articles, the global number of citations and therefore the IF is growing. Will there be new indicators? For example, the annual growth rate IF : )? If everyone grows, this is how the impact indicator should now be measured.
What are your views on IF inflation?

We're starting to use touchscreens with pigeons in an arrangement I have not used before, so I need your expertise. The arrangement is a large touchscreen at the other end of the experimental chamber from the magazine. The Python autoshaping program that I have written does the usual things -- presents a "key" of randomized colors and locations on the black screen, followed by food delivery. The chambers we use are lit with normal room lighting
Will this work? It worries me that magazine training will engender hanging around by the hopper, so detecting the key onset may be difficult.
If any of you have expertise in autoshaping under such conditions, I'd appreciate any information
Thanks - michael

Halton (Chip) Arp along with Edwin Hubble were the greatest astronomer/astrophysicists of 20th century. While Hubble's name is much used and abused; Arp's (some call him the Galileo of modern times) name is hardly ever mentioned in the narrative of official astrophysics and cosmology. Arp's name is famously associated with the Quasars, but in the present narrative on Quasars in Wikipedia, his name does not even merit any mention!
Quasars represent the biggest embarrassment of the Big Bang creation cosmology, based on mathematical idealism and the General Relativity (RG) that has replaced theology as the ruling idea for monopoly capitalism. Since it was first suggested by Halton (Chip) Arp few decades ago that high red shift quasars are ejects from nearby (low red shift) active galaxies, mountain of rapidly accumulating observational evidence including quasar – galaxy associations, close pair of quasars, their alignments and groupings, red shift periodicity and quantized redshifts effect etc. [1 - 4 ] is making breeches in the high walls of closely guarded Big Bang paradigm that obstinately refuges to accept [5] the ejection theory. In one of the most famous cases involving NGC 4319 and the quasar Markarian 205 Arp and his associate Jack Sulentic demonstrated a luminous link between the two; both from the pictures of an amateur astronomer and the one taken later by Hubble Space Telescope as shown below (Fig. 1):
📷📷
Fig. 1
But it was as usual strongly denied [6], as a line-of-sight occurrence. Statement by Arp [7]: “Science, 11 Oct. 2002, p. 345, ran a small article on the statements from both sides, but most science magazines just accepted the NASA release as refutation of the connection. Personally, I can say that after more than 30 years of evidence disputed by widely publicized opinions that the bridge was false, I was saddened that not one prominent professional has now come forward to attest that it is, in fact, real”.
Arp was forgotten by mainstream astrophysics community and ejection trails of the quasars were totally abolished and vehemently denied, even after the following "Deep Spectroscopy in the Field of 3C 212" image turned up [8]. The quasar 3C 212 photo is shown (Fig. 2), overlaid with a green-tinted radio emission map. To the SE there is an optical feature nearly matched by a radio feature, but in the NW there is a brilliant horse-head-shaped radio emission which connects unbroken to the QSO with a long neck in between. Beyond this emission, further out from the QSO but in a perfect line with the QSO -radio horsehead axis, there is an optical horse's head, identical in every significant morphological way (i.e. they look just the same). Both radio & optical horseheads are revealed in the article to be close doublets, with one emission at the eye and another of the mouth of the horseheads.
📷
Fig. 2
In line with official cosmology, the original authors [8] interpreted this image as, “.. the horsehead features ... ...are ... not ...related”. Now Bruno Leibundgut and Jesper Sollerman [9] have a good laugh and interpret the image in the following way, in line with poor Halton (Chip) Arp, long after he is gone and forgotten!
“Some reflection shows us what is happening in this photo. The QSO 3C212 is surrounded by a spherical shell of material similar to rings seen around stars (which are spherical shells seen edge-on). It has ejected the doublet f & g along its polar axis. The horsehead f represents a significant amount of material, and left a radio trace of its emergence out of 3C212. When f and g reached the spherical shell they splashed through, leaving a radio signature on the shell. The horsehead f left a horsehead-shaped splash. The simple object g splashed through and has left simple ripples in the shell. Go on, look -- there are two ripples, indicating the spherical shell has two layers. Simple, really, once you see it.
So now it becomes clearer. The QSO 3C212 is at redshift z=1.049, f is at z=0.928, and so is hurtling toward us with radial speed of about z=0.121 (ignoring "instrinsic" redshift component, see below). The redshift of g has been measured at 1.054, so has a small radial speed away from us of z=0.005. There, now that wasn't so hard, was it?
