Questions related to Paper
I am currently doing a research proposal for my thesis and I wanted to know is it possible to use two different econometric methods to carry on with the findings?
We are looking for journals, where should we publish our research, indexed by WOS or SCOPUS.
We will be very thankful for every recommendations or advice.
I read a paper from one well known publisher. Paper is about gestational diabetees. At the age 45+ they found 35 cases of diabetes and 90 women without it. They wrote: ''Te incidence of GDM at age≥45years was as high as 38.89%.'' I would suggest 28%? What do you think?
In addition, I have some question. If something increase from 50 to 200, that is 4 times increase?
What about folds? In my opinion, folds are not same as times? The next article stated in abstract: ''neutralizing antibodies were increased by 10.3–28.9 times at 4 weeks after the booster'' and than in results ''eutralizing antibody GMTs then increased during the 4 weeks after the booster dose until day 237 by 28.9, 10.3, and 11.9-fold". Was this written correctly?
The problem is that I can not recognize what is predatory publisher and what is not. Why? Because some superiors (often professors or groups with certain interests) claim that this or that publisher is bad, with predatory traits.
This negative campaign is being run against publishers whose journals are indexed in the Web of Science or Scopus databases.
Do you think it's perfectly okay to publish in journals indexed in WoS / Scopus? Or can these databases index stacks of predatory publishing journals?
Of course, there can be some mistakes in the order of units..
Please help share this including your opinions, thanks.
My question is: In many cases, we have seen that the published articles have a DOI link so is it necessary for a Published article? suppose we can just use the journal link or a site link where it is saved so why it is necessary for an article.
Because in some cases the mostly DOI links cannot work properly.
I have read many research "overclaiming" the result of their research and fail to describe the limitation of their current study (maybe because they are afraid that the limitation will undermine the result of their research). For anyone of you who have written your scientific paper, how did you write the limitation of your study? Is there any tips?
I need to present some data in a form of a Radar graph and I don't want to use excel and I need another software.
What is the best way of making this kind of chart that can be accepted academically?
Thank you for your help and software
Does anybody here know if having accepted a paper in the 9th Machine Intelligence and Digital Interaction Conference is valid and valuable for a scientific resume?
Thank you in advance.
In this modern world technologies are updating too fast. In this scenario many journals take more than a year to publish a research article which may be an obsolete technology/process.
I am having confusion to write. I am in the dark because I don't know what to write in this part? How to write?
If anyone has any sample or example?
One of the most major problems of writing an undergraduate article is the lack of access to a laboratory and a professor to check the accuracy of article information in the laboratory.
For example, at my university, only postgraduate, PhD and postdoctoral students are allowed to work in the laboratory. What should an undergraduate student do if he or she wants to write an article and extract the information needed for his or her paper from the lab?
Undergraduate students do not have access to professors and laboratories to verify their ideas, what should they do to write an article?
Can he write another type of article that is published in a valid journal but does not require laboratory information? Or can he collaborate with a foreign professor to write an article?
What is the solution to the problem?
When it comes to choosing a good journal, it has always been debated which one is more important? Impact factor (IF) or journal quartile (Q)?
I give an example, you have three following journals, which one would you choose?
1- IF: 1.3 & Q1
2- IF: 2.5 & Q2
3- IF: 3.9 & Q3
Please select one of the three journals above and give a reason for that.
My paper revision is in progress. However, now I know that another author as the corresponding author must be added to the manuscript. But I can,t know how I can add another new author as correspond at this phase of paper preparation. Can anyone help me with this issue?
Choosing a journal for the publication of research articles is becoming increasingly difficult and a source of concern. Most often, the researcher struggles to determine the article's weight and is rejected. So, how should we go about choosing a journal? Do you have any suggestions that you find useful? I'd be extremely grateful.
Hai. As a young researcher, I still lack knowledge on how can I recognize or identify that the conference proceedings paper that I find from any source is a good paper to refer to for my research. Based on other people's opinions, just look at the location of the conference. Does anyone have tips or opinion on it? Thank you so much.
Due to the huge leap in COVID-19 vaccinations around the globe, I presume that this disease will be eradicated promptly (hopefully).
However, is it OK to use retrospective data of COVID-19 in our research?
I used the data of last year (2020), but because of the journal's long processes, I think that the data I used in my paper will become old.
Is it going to be accepted, or it's not interesting for journal editors and reviewers?
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Dear RG colleagues,
Let us discuss on what basis are the authors sequence in multi-authored publications is arranged? Does it depend only on the contribution’s weight of each author? How to estimate the contribution’s weight of each author? Are there other criteria to determine this arrangement? Thank you very much for sharing your opinions with us,
Recently, I read that we do not validate the questionnaire, but the scores obtained through this questionnaire. So is it wrong the papers with the title"Validation of the XXXXXX questionnaire"?
There are endless threads on almost any matter. Those threads have proven to be useful to other people. I would like to collect those threads and set them here. Anyone is welcome to set their own threads. At the moment, I see courses, publishing matters, errors or bugs, offers, advice or the hows pages. Of course, if there is anything you want to say, welcome.
I'm a starter to write a paper by Latex.
But I have some difficulty using it.
I'm writing the paper with 2 columns. And, there is one figure that occupies the 2 both-sides.
I want to raise this figure to the bottom side on the upper pape, but it is fixed on the upper side on the next page...
The picture was attached..
Do you know this reason and the way?...
Hello seniors, I am new in this field would anyone please recommend some good published research papers written in socia sciences for understanding and application of these designs for beginners.
Nowadays, I have seen many researchers are involved in increasing their citation count. They are using various inappropriate approaches for that. However, in last they have a good number of citations. My question starts now:
Organizations judge the profile on several factors among them one is a citation. Is it really good to have a high citation count? If one person fairly wants to do research, then for him citation count will be less (because he is not doing any fraudulent activity) and his profile will be judged lower than the cheater. Here, we are talking about only citation count, therefore please don't involve other performance measure components like quality research papers and others.

How long does the review process of a submitted manuscript last from the 'under review' status initiation to 'reviews complete'? (Elsevier publisher)
If the assigned referees send their comments, the status automatically changes? or NO!!! The manuscripts are in a corner until the journal editors pay them attention?
Many thanks for your responses and help.
I had submitted a manuscript to the Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly on Aug 25, 2019.
A year later, its status is still "with editor" !!!
I have sent several emails to the journal that either handle it or let me withdraw, but unfortunately, none of my emails are answered.
In such a disrespectful and unprofessional situation caused by the journal, am I legally and ethically authorized to submit the paper to another journal?
Hello to all,
i am learning internet of things , i believe participating in writing a technical paper on iot will be a good influence on my career , but i don't know how to start ? , where to find colleagues ? , what qualifies a person to write a good tech. paper ? .

attached with this question my CV ,kindly check it
Hi dears researchers ..
I want knew what are the criteria for citation of paper ? does the citation number indicate the good quality of an article? knowing that the journal plays a role in increasing the number of citations, some journals require the citation of articles in the journal to be accepted

As you know, verification the results is an important step of the paper. sometimes the results of the paper and references are not coincident. What would you do if the results of your paper were not match with the results of the references?
Sadly to receive emails from ELSEVIER that the two Q4 SCOPUS Indexed Journals (Test Magazine Journal and International Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering- IJITEE) are currently being investigated to add the contents further which will take approximately 2 months for the decision to be taken, also ELSEVIER system will not allow the two journals to add any content until a decision is taken.
In case they are found to be a predatory journal, can we withdraw our papers from them? Does anyone have experience of withdrawing papers from predatory journals? Please advise me...
I have tried to update the information in a paper, but after clicking the save button, the system does nothing, and the updating window is not closed. When I manually close the window, the info is not updated. I am just trying to update page numbers and a period at the end of a DOI that breaks the linking to the published paper.
Have you seen this behavior? Could you fix it without deleting and reuploading it?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone! I got an invitation to submit a paper to the following SCI-E/SCOPUS MDPI journal (special issue):
The Article Processing Charge (APC) is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs) per accepted paper. However, the fees will be fully waived (as it is an invitation to contribute) if I can submit the paper by the end of June 2020.
If anyone have a collaboration idea, please send me a message.
After getting a minor revision, a revised version of manuscript was submitted three months ago to a reputed journal. The status changed to " Editor Assigned" after two days. The status date changed several times, but the status remained "Editor Assigned". Since then the manuscript status has been same.
I'm wondering what can that possibly indicate. Really appreciate some advice and clarification on this.
Can you please recommend to me some well-reputed research journals in corporate/market finance, indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science, nothing less than Q3, answers relatively quickly (nothing more than 3 to 4 months, with fees or free, open source or not. Thank you.
My research project had numerous results and because the conference paper is usually just 5-6 pages long, I could not discuss all my results in it.
However, is it still possible to mention conclusions/results without discussing them in the paper? Or should I strictly mention results that have been discussed?
Thanks in advance.
As you know, in some articles, authors provide simulation codes. But most articles do not include simulation codes. What do you think about this? What are the advantages and disadvantages of providing code in an article?
With kind regards,
I submitted a research article and a new manuscript for consideration for publication in a Journal (Q1 and IF=3.9) about 20 days ago.
It was mentioned in the last step of submission, "You will receive a message from Electronic Manuscript Upload System through the corresponding email: **********. If you do not receive a confirmation in a day or two, please contact us at **********". We did not receive any submission confirmation. My supervisor sent an email to *********** 17 days ago, and we have asked for information on the status of the submission of our manuscript, but we did not get any reply from ***********.
We have sent several emails to the editor-in-chief of the journal, but we did not get any reply.
Did they receive the article at all?
I want to withdraw my manuscript, but when they will not reply to our emails; how can I do this work?
Would you please help me?
thanks in advance
What is the normal number of published paper per year for a topic to become a trend or unique? Please specify your topic and the number of published papers/year in that field.
If one has a (maybe transient) link to an open access version of a paper, how can we post it? Of course one can upload the unedited manuscript, but we all know that the edited one is much nicer to read...
We published one apper and I got a link, but dont know where to post it:
I can't post it as supplement (file needed), nor anywhere on the article page and there is no format which can be used to created a new contribution...
I found a similar question but without a usable idea (besides building a document including the link)
I am looking for some regional science journals that accept short articles and specifically regional graphics (e.g. maps, geovisualisations) with a maximum of 500/1000 maximum words of accompanying text. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
I submitted a paper last April and currently, it is undergoing a second review after submitting the revised version. However, recently I found that a similar paper was published while mine is under review. So will they reject it because of that even though my paper was submitted before the published one but yet it is under review?
This malpractice extends not only to peer review, but also to manuscript writing or response to peer review observations.
Trained researchers or senior colleague’s need to be more aware of this bad habit and change their attitude and behaviour towards it.
I have a few photos exported from a different software. I need to add some captions in the photos. Can do this edit in Matlab? and is there a way to unify the dimensions of the photos automatically in Matlab? I will use the photos as figures in my research hence i would like them to be of a similar size.
I have made a mxene paper using the MILD(minimally intensive layer delamination) methods(DOI: 10.1021/acs.chemmater.7b02847),and for three-electrode measurements, Ti3C2Tx electrodes were employed as the working electrodes with platinum and Ag/AgCl as the counter and reference electrodes, respectively.
Interestingly, the specific capacitances decrease with the increasing of the current density，but increase with the increasing of the scan rate before 50mv/s? How it is possible? and how to solve the problem? Thanks a lot!
the CV and GCD plot are in the attachment.
I have a scientific article. Its content refers to the harvesting and storing energy from storms. Because this content is new, strange and uncommon, I have been rejected by some journals (including RENEWABLE ENERGY by Elsevier, SCIENCE, PLOS ONE - a mega journal) just because the topic of my article is outside the scope of those journals even though the editors of these journals have confirmed the content of article is technically correct.
I want to ask which scientific journals will accept to publish an article with the topic and content related to harvesting and storing energy from storms
We are living in a digital world. Our life is encompassing with internet, computer and smart phone. Communication is getting faster but losing spirits and emotions.
The practice of writing letter on paper with pen are very rare and going to be extinct.
When was the last time you wrote a letter on paper with pen/pencil?
Hello Dear Researchers,
Actually, I need to find a free and comprehensive reference, in order to learn all steps of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis theoretically, practically and exactly in SmartPLS, by studying it. Could you suggest me a good reference like this (book, paper and so on), based on your experiences. Thank you so much.
I want to publish my review paper in any reputed journal, but the time duration is less. Are there any free journals available to publish with in 2 months? Otherwise can you list trustworthy paid journals?
I have submitted my paper to a journal of Elsevier publisher 3 months ago. The paper is still in Under Review status. However, although the paper went under review on 6th September, the status date of the paper have changed several times. Please could you tell me why such changes happen, while it is still in Under Review status?
There must be certain stylistic features in writing that differentiate native from non-native standards. Perhaps non-native writers can improve upon their writing styles in order to enrich competition in research paper publishing.
please, let us discuss your opinions about a single and multi-authors paper. How it can reflect the author personality? Which one is more trusted? Does a single author paper give the author a good reputation? or maybe it shows the competency of the author?
