We have realized that nursing diagnosis is a very recurrent topic of publication during the years 80-90, but they do not usually include articles on nursing diagnosis and methodology at present. At least, in Spain, this is still an issue that requires a lot of development and, therefore, research on that. Does anyone know the reason?

I agree with José Manuel that AENTDE's (Spanish Association of Nomenclature, Taxonomies and Nursing Diagnosis) network REITE (Spanish Research Network on Nursing languages) (More info at www.aentde.com) provides opportunities to foster research collaboration; and also ACENDIO (Association for Common European Nursing Diagnoses, Interventions and Outcomes) provides a platform to share research information and start new projects (http://www.acendio.net).
Research projects fostering high quality publications are performed at several Spanish Universities, at the University Tor Vergata, Rome (I), at the University of IOWA, Center for Nursing Classification & Clinical Effectiveness (https://nursing.uiowa.edu/cncce/nursing-interventions-classification-overview), at the College of Nursing University of Florida (https://nursing.ufl.edu/faculty/gail-keenan-phd-rn/) at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and in many other research centers.

Dear Agron, I think that a good approach can to be the N.N.N. Alliance. You can use for clinical nursing practice the Gordon's "Functional Health Pattens" for nursing assessment, NANDA-I nursing standard language for nursing diagnoses, NOC for choises of patient outcomes, and NIC for nursing interventions used. These classifications of diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions are useful to improve a quick recording of nurses's activities or daily care plans in the traditional documents as well as in Electronic Clinical Record. Many nurses have published interesting studies on NANDA, NOC, and NIC linkages. Further information about the links among the three languages are available through the Center for Nursing Classification and Clinical Effectiveness at The University of Iowa ( www.nursing.uiowa.edu/cnc ).
