Please note that ResearchGate is neither a journal nor a publisher, you cannot "publish" the abstract here. RG is a platform for papers published in journals, or to present unpublished texts, data etc. If you just want to make the abstract available for the public without a publication in the narrower sense, see this help page for instructions how to add published or unpublished research to ResearchGate: https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293005132305-How-to-add-research

Answer
I don't think there is a formula. It starts with your interests, values, and professional goals. When I was deciding upon a topic for my doctoral dissertation, I had an area of focus. I conducted electronic literature searches regarding articles on area of focus. By reading articles on the topic, I was able to find where the gaps in literature intersected with my interests. I read many articles and had conversations with other members of my doctoral cohort. That led me to developing research questions that i wanted to investigate - questions that I believed were important and as a result finding the answers was highly motivating. I realize this may not be the process followed by others, but it is the process that I found useful. I hope that my answer is helpful!

Rodgers recommends that you do like this in 7 steps:
The phases of concept analysis are to
1 identify and name the concept of interest;
2 identify the surrogate terms and relevant uses of the concept;
3 select an appropriate realm (sample) for data collection;
4 recognize attributes of the concept;
5 ascertain the references, antecedents, and consequences of the concept, if possible;
6 identify concepts related to the concept of interest; and
7 generate a model case of the concept.

There once was a time when nurses were educated to be lifelong learners of self as well as others. A shift happened in North America after 1990 when that stopped being taught in professional nursing curricula at the undergraduate level. No one human, physician, nurse, or social work/mental health professional can be effective in helping another human without first being self-aware and the impact of that self on the vulnerabilities of another (compassion/self-compassion). The profession has regressed in favor of a corporate distribution/business model of restrictive care.

The warning of Robert John Wolff to be careful with this publisher should be taken seriously. There are numerous red flags:
-The publisher “i-manager publications” (http://www.imanagerpublications.com ) is mentioned in the updated version of the Beall’s list https://beallslist.net/#update
-FYI the replacement of the UGC approved journal list is the UGC CARE list, none of the titles of this publisher is listed (see https://ugccare.unipune.ac.in/apps1/home/index )
-I searched for i-manager's Journal on Nursing in Google Scholar and the majority of the papers I found (and was able to read because they were uploaded in for example ResearchGate) were published in a suspiciously short period of time.
It is however not only disturbing:
-The papers are indexed in ProQuest (and the first page can be read to get a brief idea about the paper)
-The Dimensions link seems to work give the whole operation some degree of professionalism
-At least some (if not all) of their papers are indexed in Google Scholar
-If you search for i-manager then numerous of their titles are indexed here on RG (and the doi assigned to the papers I checked seem to work properly)
So, I would say it is somewhat ambiguous but as indicated by I think that looking at their website http://www.imanagerpublications.com and the inability to access the content of the various issues of a particular journal is lacking transparency and personally would make me wonder how anyone would find my paper once published in one of their titles. I personally would go for a subscription-based journal of a publisher with a better exposure (and reputation).

How does Christina Sieloff's theory of group and power to the organization impact nursing safe staffing issues?
Relevant answer
Answer
Few ways in which these concepts can impact safe staffing:
1. Decision-Making and Advocacy: Within an organization, the distribution of power and decision-making can influence the allocation of resources, including staffing levels. Nurses and other healthcare professionals must advocate for safe staffing levels based on patient needs and quality of care. Understanding power dynamics and group processes can help nurses navigate the organizational structure and effectively advocate for appropriate staffing.
2. Collaboration and Teamwork: Effective teamwork and collaboration are essential for safe staffing. The theory of group dynamics emphasizes the importance of cohesive and well-functioning teams. In the context of nursing, this means that healthcare professionals need to work together, communicate effectively, and share responsibilities to ensure adequate staffing levels and safe patient care.
3. Staff Engagement and Empowerment: Empowering and engaging staff members is crucial for safe staffing. When nurses feel empowered, they are more likely to voice concerns about staffing inadequacies and work collaboratively to find solutions. Organizations that encourage staff participation in decision-making processes and provide opportunities for professional growth and development can foster a culture of safety and support safe staffing initiatives.
4. Power Imbalances and Advocacy Challenges: Power imbalances within organizations can present challenges in addressing safe staffing issues. Hierarchical structures and decision-making processes may hinder effective communication and limit the ability of frontline nurses to raise concerns. Understanding power dynamics can help nurses navigate these challenges and engage in advocacy efforts to promote safe staffing.
5. Organizational Policies and Support: The theory of group dynamics and power can also inform the development of organizational policies and support systems that prioritize safe staffing. Organizations that recognize the importance of safe staffing and align their policies accordingly can create an environment that values patient safety and supports nurses in providing high-quality care.

Some common methods for collecting feedback:
1. Course Evaluations: Course evaluations are a widely used method for collecting feedback from students. These evaluations typically include a set of standardized questions that assess different aspects of the course, such as the instructor's teaching style, course content, organization, and student engagement. Course evaluations can be conducted online or through paper-based surveys.
2. Anonymous Surveys: Anonymous surveys allow students to provide feedback without revealing their identity. This can encourage honest and open responses. The surveys can be administered electronically using online survey tools or distributed as paper-based forms. Anonymous surveys can cover a range of topics, including specific assignments, classroom activities, or overall teaching effectiveness.
3. Focus Groups: Focus groups involve gathering a small group of students to have a discussion about their experiences in the course. This method allows for more in-depth feedback and facilitates group interactions and brainstorming. A facilitator guides the discussion using a set of predetermined questions or prompts. Focus groups can be particularly useful for exploring specific topics or gathering qualitative data.
4. One-on-One Meetings: Individual meetings with students provide an opportunity for personalized feedback. Professors can schedule brief meetings with students to discuss their experiences, concerns, and suggestions. This method allows for a more personal and detailed conversation, which can uncover valuable insights. However, it may not be feasible for large class sizes.
5. Online Discussion Boards: Online discussion boards or forums provide a platform for students to share their feedback and engage in discussions asynchronously. Professors can create dedicated discussion threads for feedback or allow students to provide feedback in existing course-related discussions. Online platforms can facilitate peer-to-peer feedback as well.
6. Mid-semester Feedback: Mid-semester feedback is a formative assessment method where professors solicit feedback midway through the course. This allows for timely adjustments and improvements. Professors can use anonymous surveys or class discussions to gather feedback on specific aspects of the course and address any concerns while the course is still in progress.
It's important to consider a combination of methods to gather comprehensive feedback.
Hope it helps

Is there any specific regulation in the European Union that refers to nursing records in Electronic Health Records (EHRs)? Specifically, I am interested in whether there are recommendations for the introduction of standardized nursing languages (SNLs) in nursing records or if there is support for this.
Relevant answer
Answer
Few info gathered:
At the EU level, the primary legislation related to health data protection is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which sets out rules for the processing and protection of personal data, including health information. The GDPR provides a framework for data protection and privacy and applies to all sectors, including healthcare.
Regarding the use of standardized nursing languages (SNLs) in nursing records, the EU has not issued specific regulations or recommendations on this matter. However, individual member states may have their own guidelines or initiatives related to nursing documentation and the use of standardized terminologies or classifications.
For example, some countries in the EU, such as the United Kingdom, have developed guidelines and recommendations for using standardized nursing languages in EHRs. In the UK, the NHS (National Health Service) has encouraged the use of standardized terminologies like SNOMED CT and nursing-specific classifications like the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and the Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) to enhance interoperability and data exchange.
Hope it helps

My name is Anna Hanson, and I teach nursing at the University of Texas. I was an ICU Nurse Manager previously, and am very interested in the experiences of others as they manage their own ICUs. I am doing my dissertation for my PhD at UTMB, and am talking to ICU Nurse Managers to see what challenges they face, and what they enjoy about their jobs. I want to see things to share with others to help other nurse managers. My study is IRB-approved and these conversations are completely confidential.

How can nursing education create a versatile and technology-driven simulation learning system that cultivates advanced clinical skills, individualized learning, and seamless transition to real-world patient care, while navigating resource limitations?
Relevant answer
Answer
Simulation in nursing education allows nursing students to practice their skills in a safe environment under a supervisor. They work with high-tech manikins to perform typical nursing duties in a hospital-like setting before they apply those skills to clinical practice in the real world.

Hi i am nisha, working as a teaching faculty in a college of nursing. As a part of our department research we planned to conduct a research on patient safety culture for nursing students to assess their attitude. .is that possible to get a standardized questionnaire for this study.
Relevant answer
Answer
Hello,
For cross-sectional studies, the questionnaire can be one of three options;
1- A worldwide recognized and validated questionnaire e.g. WHO quality of life questionnaires.
2- A previously designed, validated, and used questionnaire by a group of authors in similar studies before.
3- You will design a new questionnaire based on the existing literature and the field experience of your team, then do both content validity (by sending it to experts in the field) and reliability tests. Having done this, you now have a validated questionnaire.
I recommend you start searching the literature, collecting and carefully reading similar and relevant studies.

Hey Guys!
I have used a questionnaire prepared by other scholars to explore the factors affecting nursing’s behavioral intention of using nursing information systems. Research object in both studies is the same group of people, (ie. nurse). So i choose not to conduct reliability and validity tests again for the questionnaire. Of course, there are other complicating reasons.
My question is: is it acceptable not to retest reliability and validity? Is there some articles I can refer to?
Best regards.
Relevant answer
No, there is need to conduct the reliability and validity test especially if the previous evidence is outdated.

Hi all,
I am a student working towards gaining my nursing Master's degree. I am conducting qualitative research to explore the nursing Students’Experiences of Electronic Medical Records During Placements. My question is: Is it correct to use constructivist theory approach,interpretative phenomenology and thematic analysis for my methodology/approch/data analysis?
Thank you.
Relevant answer
Answer
Congratulations on pursing your gradulate degree. The constructivists theory certainly could fit. it says that people construct knowledge from what is happening to them, added to their own lived experience. I guess I would ask what is the aim of your research? What are you setting out to accomplish? What is the Nursing Problem that you are studying, and how does it impact Nursing Knowledge? your theory, methodology, and analysis are dependent upon what you are trying to find out to some degree.

This isn't at all like the other marvellous replies already, but when I was a nurse practitioner for bladder and bowel. and taught as well as did clinical nursing.
I always seemed to get good remarks on the evaluation sheets, and I think it was because I was teaching from my day to day experience.
If I was teaching people who were active in nursing (or caring), a lot of what I mentioned were relevant to their work and I could change what I was saying to what was needed and could arrange with those listening for me to do a joint visit with them. Sometimes we knew the people who they were mentioning and they also sometimes knew who was being discussed. But patient / client names were NEVER actually used. Always anonymous.
Our service (3 of us practitioners) used to do a whole day for student nurses at our base (that was big enough and we used to use for other teaching), so we had the use of PowerPoint etc.
The students got very little training on bladder and bowel issues in their actual training. But always looked very interested in all our presentations. Sometimes we had amusing slides that made everyone laugh (as they did in the nurses' or carers'). We took it in turns to speak which gave them a change in style talks after each speaker.
At lunchtime, we had representatives from commercial companies whose products we used as this was also very relevant. I'm not sure if it is allowed now, but they used to provide a finger buffet and no-one left the department even though they were free to do so if they had wished to. The students used to want talk to us about our work as we ate. Good that they were so interested but tiring for us!!
So, we were a study day with a difference.

The imagination capability of the nursing is a significant part in both the quality of the nurses' role performance and the ethical approaches which they use. It also is a main part in their ability to communicate with a patient and in the form of person which they try to be. How to increase the effectiveness of imagination capability in nursing?
Relevant answer
Answer
Imagination stems from curiosity at the bedside, which stems from caring about someone else's predicament. Imagination can lead to "workarounds" that may not be safe or efficacious; however, imagination can fuel a research question that can lead to an evidence-based change in practice that is safe and deployed as a caring act from the nurse to another person. Imagination can engender more curiosity so that a new research question is formulated, and the cycle continues. Imagination is a wonderful gift of the mind that should be explored, expanded and enjoyed, but operationalization must be done carefully and safely.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been a part of nursing practice and nursing education since a long time. What is your experience and perspective on the use of AI in your field?
Relevant answer
Answer
When nurses implement AI, such as clinical decision tools, they can process large amounts of data quickly to identify risks, recommend interventions, and streamline workflow. However, for AI to truly transform nursing practice, limitations must be addressed with input from nurses
Artificial intelligence (AI) comprises many healthcare technologies transforming nurses' roles and enhancing patient care. In healthcare, AI typically refers to the ability of computers to independently convert data into knowledge to guide decisions or autonomous actions.

Hi everyone,
ICU nursing staffing's impact on patient (and other) outcomes is well documented in the literature. Nonetheless, methods (e.g. Nursing activities score) have been criticized during the last decade for not including several aspects of the nurse's work besides bedside duties.
