Hi i am nisha, working as a teaching faculty in a college of nursing. As a part of our department research we planned to conduct a research on patient safety culture for nursing students to assess their attitude. .is that possible to get a standardized questionnaire for this study.
Relevant answer
Answer
Hello,
For cross-sectional studies, the questionnaire can be one of three options;
1- A worldwide recognized and validated questionnaire e.g. WHO quality of life questionnaires.
2- A previously designed, validated, and used questionnaire by a group of authors in similar studies before.
3- You will design a new questionnaire based on the existing literature and the field experience of your team, then do both content validity (by sending it to experts in the field) and reliability tests. Having done this, you now have a validated questionnaire.
I recommend you start searching the literature, collecting and carefully reading similar and relevant studies.

Hey Guys!
I have used a questionnaire prepared by other scholars to explore the factors affecting nursing’s behavioral intention of using nursing information systems. Research object in both studies is the same group of people, (ie. nurse). So i choose not to conduct reliability and validity tests again for the questionnaire. Of course, there are other complicating reasons.
My question is: is it acceptable not to retest reliability and validity? Is there some articles I can refer to?
Best regards.
Relevant answer
No, there is need to conduct the reliability and validity test especially if the previous evidence is outdated.

Congratulations on pursing your gradulate degree. The constructivists theory certainly could fit. it says that people construct knowledge from what is happening to them, added to their own lived experience. I guess I would ask what is the aim of your research? What are you setting out to accomplish? What is the Nursing Problem that you are studying, and how does it impact Nursing Knowledge? your theory, methodology, and analysis are dependent upon what you are trying to find out to some degree.

Innovative clinical Teaching methods

This isn't at all like the other marvellous replies already, but when I was a nurse practitioner for bladder and bowel. and taught as well as did clinical nursing.
I always seemed to get good remarks on the evaluation sheets, and I think it was because I was teaching from my day to day experience.
If I was teaching people who were active in nursing (or caring), a lot of what I mentioned were relevant to their work and I could change what I was saying to what was needed and could arrange with those listening for me to do a joint visit with them. Sometimes we knew the people who they were mentioning and they also sometimes knew who was being discussed. But patient / client names were NEVER actually used. Always anonymous.
Our service (3 of us practitioners) used to do a whole day for student nurses at our base (that was big enough and we used to use for other teaching), so we had the use of PowerPoint etc.
The students got very little training on bladder and bowel issues in their actual training. But always looked very interested in all our presentations. Sometimes we had amusing slides that made everyone laugh (as they did in the nurses' or carers'). We took it in turns to speak which gave them a change in style talks after each speaker.
At lunchtime, we had representatives from commercial companies whose products we used as this was also very relevant. I'm not sure if it is allowed now, but they used to provide a finger buffet and no-one left the department even though they were free to do so if they had wished to. The students used to want talk to us about our work as we ate. Good that they were so interested but tiring for us!!
So, we were a study day with a difference.

The imagination capability of the nursing is a significant part in both the quality of the nurses' role performance and the ethical approaches which they use. It also is a main part in their ability to communicate with a patient and in the form of person which they try to be. How to increase the effectiveness of imagination capability in nursing?
Relevant answer
Answer
Imagination stems from curiosity at the bedside, which stems from caring about someone else's predicament. Imagination can lead to "workarounds" that may not be safe or efficacious; however, imagination can fuel a research question that can lead to an evidence-based change in practice that is safe and deployed as a caring act from the nurse to another person. Imagination can engender more curiosity so that a new research question is formulated, and the cycle continues. Imagination is a wonderful gift of the mind that should be explored, expanded and enjoyed, but operationalization must be done carefully and safely.

When nurses implement AI, such as clinical decision tools, they can process large amounts of data quickly to identify risks, recommend interventions, and streamline workflow. However, for AI to truly transform nursing practice, limitations must be addressed with input from nurses
Artificial intelligence (AI) comprises many healthcare technologies transforming nurses' roles and enhancing patient care. In healthcare, AI typically refers to the ability of computers to independently convert data into knowledge to guide decisions or autonomous actions.

I would like to build a small, but somewhat nationally representative sample of graduate students in social work and nursing for an online survey. Will I be able to do so using Amazon's Mechanical Turk? (MTurk), or is the specificity of this recruitment criterion too narrow?
Also, is there a way to verify, such as requiring participants to upload their university registration status or transcript?
Relevant answer
Answer
Almost anybody may accomplish activities on the Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) website using their own talents and on their own time. Must accomplish jobs and receive payment from Requesters, all you need is an Internet-connected computer device and to be at least 18 years old.
At one-tenth the expense of standard approaches, researchers can collect data from large enough samples to achieve considerable statistical power. The MTurk population is more representative of the general population than other online surveys and yields more accurate findings.
To begin a survey using MTurk, a researcher (referred to as a "Requester" in Amazon's parlance) creates an account (http://www.mturk.com), deposits funds into her account, and then posts a "job listing" using the MTurk Web interface that describes the Human Intelligence Task (HIT) to be completed and the compensation to be received.

where to get permission to use the Expanded Nursing Stress Scale in my dissertation? Can i know about the interpretation?
Relevant answer
Answer
Expanded Nursing stress Scale (ENSS) has been used to measure nurses job related stressors. The ENSS is an expanded and updated revision of the classic Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) developed by Gray- Toft& Anderson (1981). The NSS was the first instrument to target nursing stress rather than general job stress

I am trying to figure out how self-efficacy and confidence of patient activation are different. I know that self-efficacy is a more situation specific term and confidence is for general situations. But the concept "patient activation" has an element of "confidence" and the items for confidence of Patient Activation Measure (PAM) sound like self-efficacy to me. Anyone who can give me any ideas or suggestions of books, readings, etc..?

I want to administer tamoxifen to P9 neonate mice. Does anyone have any experience injecting tamoxifen in the nursing mother in order to administer tamoxifen to her pups? If so, what is the recommended dosing strategy and how long does it take for the pups to be exposed to tamoxifen? Thanks!
Relevant answer
Answer
It has not been answered definitively. Yet, there are obvious effects in postnatal mice that were exposed to lactating mothers that in turn received TAM for certain time periods. It is not certain that TAM is passed through breast milk as it is in order to activate the CreERT2 system in neonates. My guess is that it should work.
Prolonged TAM administration will seize lactation in those mums.

I am a Masters student in Advanced Nursing, currently undertaking a research module.
Currently trying to write my research proposal.
I am planning to introduce debriefing post ‘critical event’.
Staff are asked ‘what went well’ & ‘what could have gone better’, comments are documented on a ‘debriefing form/tool’.
I am unsure how I would classify this data. Is it an audit? Questionnaire? Qualitative data?
How would you suggest is the best way to analyse such data?
I would appreciate any helpful comments or tips. Thanks

I am looking for data to indicate the prevalence of pelvic organ prolapse in NZ and numbers of women treated. I am writing a literature review for a Master of Nursing qualification.
Relevant answer
Answer
It is difficult to know if it is not there and the data of such a beautiful and great Nation are handled; However, in the ad hoc Ministry or in the New Zealand Health System you will be able to find such data ... but, on the other hand, I do not believe that they do not follow the general trend - unless you tell us otherwise and why - regarding to the countries around them and their level of economic and psychosocial development, otherwise the Scientific Health Community would know something about it. I myself - and I am sorry for what might seem petulant - am an Adviser to the WHO and do not have and have not found any special data on this. However, check with the Gynecological and Obstetric Association there or the College of Physicians and New Zealand Midwives.

I skimmed an article that read - "How to Make the Nursing Profession Disappear". It went further to elaborate that This involves breaking down the role of the nurse into its constituent parts. Generally, the more specialized the area within which nurses work, the easier this is to do.
split off all the aspects of the role that nurses traditionally performed, once separated from the whole, the role can be performed by lesser qualified, or equally qualified but cheaper, or unqualified staff, and we put these aside.
is there a problem??
Relevant answer
Answer
SORRY:
for all that, such Profession will not only not disappear but it will have to grow and be strengthened since, if it is true that all Professions are important and necessary, SOME ARE ESSENTIAL AND, THE NURSING IS IT!

Nursing is a profession which deals with many aspects of people's lives. Nurses are often faced with ethical problems and experience many conflicts between their professional oath. The influence of conscience on nurses has frequently been described but its impact on their practice has received less attention. During their daily practice, they need to quickly decide on one of the several competing options. Conscience i directs individuals towards non-maleficence and veracity and helps people understand their duties for coping with life as a valuable component of nursing practice which demands sensitivity, respect for human rights, and attentive and dignified care delivery. How to increase work conscience in nursing?
Relevant answer
Answer
With an excellent training in Bioethics and always following the Principle of Beneficence; never forgetting the UNIQUE AND UNREPEATABLE character of each human being and his BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL CONDITION; always exercising a VOCATIONAL AND PATIENT-CENTERED praxis, following the decalogue and advice of Florence Nightingale and that of Saint John of God-Patron of Nursing for Christians and Founder of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God or "Juaninos" - when he said: "Take care of each sick person as if they were your mother."
