Questions related to Nuclear Family
I'm currently working with PE and need to determine the Mw-Distribution of my samples.
The system that I am working with right now is the Tosoh EcoSEC HLC-8321GPC/HT with an RI detector and a single TSKgel GPC column. The samples are dissolved with 1,2,4-TCB at the concentration of 2mg/mL at 120°C and run at 140°C with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, injection quantitiy 300 microL.
The results came back were conflicting (see the chromatograph and the molecular weight distribution below). The polarity seems to be negative and the logM curve seems to be smaller than that given by the manufacturer and bimodal (highly unlikely).
Has anyone had this problem before? Do you know what parameters I can manipulate to get the real result?
Since the tubing that we are using for our HT-GPC can only go to 140°C, that is maximum temperature I can go to running it and 2mg/mL is also our maximum concentration allowed.
If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks a lot!
Family Systems Theory by Murray Bowen is a specific approach which takes familial functioning into account. I am interested in how the concepts present in it will translate into a South Asian (or, to be more precise, the collectivistic framework of Pakistan) context? For instance, Bowen's theory is based on an understanding of nuclear family systems but how would it apply in the case of a joint family? In a culture where parents might be dependent on the views of the community in terms of bringing up children, how would Bowen's theories translate exactly (for instance, if they have a disabled child)? For example, what is the difference between Bowen's concepts of relationships between generations and the kinds that might emerge owing to different generations living under the same roof and with their extended family members as well?
Let's say, for instance, that it is not merely parents but also other members of the family such as extended family members or grandparents who either counsel children on "appropriate conduct" or even express disapproval and view it as appropriate behavior culturally. How do Murray's concepts such as "Differentiation" change in a cultural sense in that case just as one example out of many possible ones? In a culture where "adulthood" and transition towards it might exist in a legal sense but might not be necessarily viewed as "important" even for parental figures (for instance, even if children cross the age of 18, parents do not try to treat their children as "adults"), how would Bowen's concepts change? I am not talking in terms of applying these concepts therapeutically, but, in terms of how they might be applicable in a conceptual sense.
i want to analyze mothers-daughters data. i have data gathered for mothers and related daughters.
For each women, i have a separate line (case) and an identifier of whether she is a mother/daughter and a serial number of the dyad.
My questions are:
is this the best way to manage the data? (separate cases for each women?)
Which tests in SPSS can i run to compare these "paired" dyads if they are managed as separate cases?
Do all dyad be represented in a single line (case) ? this would be easyer?
Often a researcher relies on external instruments or the body of data generated by a particular culture. Is it enough to use the established criteria to recognize and validate a publication, a conduct, society, culture or spirituality as good? Good, understood as valid, healthy on a universal and lasting level. The constructive dialogue is necessary for the consolidation of a reality, but what if those who make up this dialogue do not have the right vision in themselves? Examples of this are cultural and research groups that have not maintained a correct ethical and spiritual basis (Eugenics, Cruel research with animals, violent historical periods, etc.). Is it necessary to review the value system itself not as a basis of beliefs without as a guide to behavior in daily practice?

I am going to start making a series of controversial statements about forest management. These are not statements that I can necessarily defend, but I thank you and give me arguments for or against and with quotes from good science and good judgment. Good science and experience can test hypotheses. Respect is appreciated and please set bilis aside when responding. The first statemet is:
MOST OF THE SPECIES USED IN BIG SCALE REFORESTATION IN THE WORLD ARE NATURAL MONOCULTURES IN THEIR SITES OF ORIGIN
Please respond and share. I will collect the responses and then share them in one document, recognizing the contributions of all the ones that make comments. I will wait one month for your reactions before putting the next statement.
Thank you very much in advance.

I would like to explore the father/daughter relationship from the perspective of psychoanalysis because the material I have before me highlights this bond in association with childhood memories, nostalgia, and attachment to land/home.

I am currently doing my Masters thesis in mediation studies and I am having difficulty formulating questions to ask in the interviews. My thesis title is "exploring conflict management styles among nuclear families".
My overarching objective is: To understand conflict management in nuclear families along the east-west corridor of Trinidad
My objective are:
1. To explore the ways nuclear families along the East-West corridor of Trinidad manage conflict.
2. To understand the challenges that families along the East-West corridor of Trinidad face due to the conflict management style utilized.
3. To explore the intergenerational conflict management styles of an individual within the family and determine how it impacts on the individual’s conflict management style
I am seeking assistance in relevant interview questions for my participant interviews. Any assistance is greatly appreciated
I am about to do my PhD candidacy exam, and one of the evaluators raised an important point of the genotyping malaria project. Basically, in the malaria field it is very common to genotype different strains by using length markers or just polymorphic markers of the same size. The number of different variations of size or SNPs will determine the number of different clones found in a human host infected with malaria. MOI is define as 'multiplicity of infection' and it basically tells you this number of clones found in an individual. When looking at publications, it is very common to see a MOI of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and even 6. However, one of my PhD examiners asked this question:
"How is it possible to have 1 to 6 genotypes of malaria, when its genome is 23'000,000 bases, and it can populate the human host to 1x10^12 cells?"
Since then I am struggling with it and I have narrowed down some evidence to answer this question... In the pathogenesis of malaria, it is common to see a few bottlenecks of transmission. When a mosquito inoculates a human host with the plasmodium parasite, between 10 to 200 circumsporozoites will make it to the liver. After an incubation period of 7 to 10 days, each circumsporozoite will release 30,000 daughter cells into the bloodstream. Each cell will replicate into 8-32 times inside a red blood cell (RBC). So in theory, all of these cells should be clones of the parent cells. However that is not the case given that the average mutation rate of malaria is 4x10e-10 base substitutions per mitosis. How can I answer this question?
In practice is common to see the use of polymorphic genes with a expected heterozygosity close to 1.0, that would yield as many genotype retrievals as possible, and those genes typically vary in size of 300 to 500 base pairs. Some people use a panel of microsatellites to determine these genotypes.
Am I missing a key concept here?

Consider this vignette: during the COVID-19 pandemic a family are living in a big city where access to stable digital streams and affordable data bundles is not a problem. Confined to long periods of school learning now moved online, one of the parents asked their daughter about her experience. She says:
It is boring and I learn almost nothing. Teachers give a lot of instructions with little explanation.
What can we do to resolve this? What research might be undertaken?
my (almost) 4-year old daughter started tooth change recently (which is indeed pretty early). As she is a very tall girl (ca. 120 cm), I was wondering if body height could correlate more with permanent tooth emergence that age does. Does anyone know about scientific publications on this topic for Western European populations?
Thank you very much & kind regards

Mobility Load Balance is a SON function offloading the users from overloaded cell to underloaded cell to balance the load in a given coverage area. How to use Machine Learning to figure out the MLB efficiently?
Gender discrimination is as old as Human Life in our society.. There is hardly any society where discrimination on the basis of sex is not present. Starting from upbringing to education, to property inheritance daughters are treated second to sons for they being women. The recent judgement of SC in India declaring that daughters will have inheritance rights equal to those of sons from properties of father, grand fathers and great grand fathers right from the codification of law in 1956 is really welcoming. Will this declaration be helpful in reducing the gender gap ?

A human child at age 2 needs around 5 instances of a car to be able to identify it with reasonable accuracy regardless of color, make, etc. When my son was 2, he was able to identify trams and trains, even though he had seen just a few. Since he was usually confusing one with each other, apparently his neural network was not trained enough, but still.
What is it that artificial neural networks are missing that prevent them from being able to learn way quicker? Is transfer learning an answer?
The term single or nuclear family refers to a household consisting of a father, a mother and their children all in one household. A joint family is considered bigger compared to a nuclear family because a joint family includes grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and in-laws, aside from the typical mother, father, and children.
In collecting demographic variables, I do not need a specific scale? correct?
I can make my own stuff such as: marital status (Married, Single, Divorced, Widow, Domestic relationship), occupation (Full-time, part-time, unemployed), race (White, Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Native American, American Indian, Asian / Pacific Islander, Other), gender (Male, Female, other), caregivers' relationship to the recipient (Daughter, Son, Spouse, Daughter/Son in law, Other), Caregiver’s age (18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, over 55), overall health (Poor, Reasonable, Good, or Excellent), years of providing care (1-3, 4-6, over 6), number of children under 18 years old (0-1, 2-3, 4-5, over 5).

Can someone please let me know something about the Chromosome 10q dupliaction. My daughter was just diagnosed with this, she is 2 years old and doesnt walk or talk yet. She continuously has brain attacks while she sleeps. Her eyes are open and she doesnt breath when the attacks happen. Thank you in advance for your respond.
This is not my area of research at all (I'm in occupational psychology) - but am very interested in it for personal reasons. My daughter is in Year 7 in the UK and has three different teachers for English, the same applies for Maths and Science. I want to ask about the pedagogical rationale for having multiple teachers for one subject at parents' evening, but would like to go prepared. I can't find any research that supports this when I try searching the databases (or any that criticises it) - but this may because it's not my area so I'm not searching efficiently. Any information would be gladly received.
Many thanks, Claire
I supposed the answer is YES. Then, the question is how to improve the estimate of water availability by using remote sensing scheme. Here you are a new index for your considerations: NDLI as newly proposed in the prestigious journal IEEE TGRS: Liou, Y.-A.*, Mai Son Le, and Hwa Chien, 2019a: Normalized Difference Latent Heat Index for Remote Sensing of Land Surface Energy Fluxes, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 57(3), 1423 - 1433, doi: 10.1109/TGRS.2018.2866555.
Water is very important in health and disease, as human body contains 70 percent ,therefore drinking plenty of water is related to kidney and hypertension ,Son we have to follow water and remineralize and secure trace element to prevent heart and kidney failure.so again why we should keep water in our body normal?

India is going to become or has become the world capital for diabetes. A country which has a high value for traditional medicine and the seat for Yoga has suddenly seen itself as the world capital of Diabetes and heart disease.
Most blame it on life style but even a short look back into the lives of Indians in the past the Family values were high and had a joint family.
But today the nuclear family itself is unable to withstand the stress of family and as a result has seen more conflicts within the family.
Very easy to say Im a diabetic but its also sad to see families after families succumbing to the gene of diabetes.
who will end the chain?
A man died and left a wife, son and daughter, and he had a sum of ten thousand dollars.

In 1656, Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn transferred his home to his son Titus (age 14) by order of the Weeskamer (Orphan's Court) one week prior to his insolvency proceeding filing. (The Weeskamer was not advised of this upcoming insolvency event). According to the literature, although he paid the principal amount owing on his promissory note, significant interest (about f 3,000) remained unpaid. How did Rembrandt obtain the release of the lien/ title from the note holder for the transfer to be completed? Were there "liens" attaching to real property in existence in the Dutch Republic in that era?
Meeting a very young early career scholar got me thinking about long faculty careers and Academic Grandchildren.
Has anyone here on Research Gate taught a student and then 20 or 30 years later taught that same student's son or daughter?
Despite my increasing number of grey hairs. I am technically an early career scholar* since I returned for a PhD later in life. My PhD adviser was Dr. Michael Kruge of Montclair State's Earth and Environmental Science Department. Just as I was finishing my degree, both of my children enrolled in Montclair State and Michael became their undergraduate adviser. They also took undergraduate classes with some of the same faculty as I had for graduate classes.
I have been assisting a PhD candidate with her research and she was also the laboratory instructor in their program. (Does that make me my own Grandfather?)
In high schools Academic Grandchildren are quite common.
How common are Academic Grandchildren at the post-secondary level and do you think they are more or less common in the STEM fields?

My daughter is doing a remodeling project and is concerned about silica dust in ceramic tile/grout work for their new baby. What are the risks and what precautions should she take? In researching the web, it seems it's more for the workers than the homeowner. Is this true? Is a small amount of exposure ok? Thanks for your help!
