Diversity in academia isn’t just about hiring; it is and should be about retention, support, and real belonging. Yet a new study reveals how faculty of color are systematically left behind in corporatized universities. Here’s what the research shows (confirming many other studies of similar topics):
1️⃣ Mentorship is missing. Faculty of color often lack guidance, forcing them to navigate academia alone. Without support, isolation grows, and careers stall.
2️⃣ Institutions expect self-reliance. Underrepresented faculty face a corporatized system that prioritizes metrics over meaningful inclusion, leaving them to fend for themselves.
3️⃣ Isolation is built-in. Many work in environments where few colleagues share their background, making it harder to feel they truly belong.
4️⃣ DEI is often just a checkbox. When diversity initiatives are performative, they mask (rather than fix] systemic inequities.
5️⃣ Success metrics exclude them. Corporatized academia rewards narrow definitions of achievement, sidelining marginalized voices.
The takeaway? Real change requires more than lip service. It demands mentorship, authentic DEI investment, and institutional accountability.

While the Peter Principle is primarily associated with management and organizational contexts, similar dynamics can sometimes be observed in academic settings as well. In academia, individuals may be promoted to higher positions, such as professorships or administrative roles, based on their achievements in research, teaching, or other academic pursuits. However, the skills and competencies required for success in these higher roles can differ significantly from those that led to success in their previous roles.
In an academic context, the "Peter Principle" can manifest as professors or researchers who excel in their specialized areas of expertise but struggle when transitioning to roles that involve broader administrative responsibilities, mentoring junior faculty, or managing larger research programs. They may not have received training in management, leadership, or interpersonal skills, which are crucial for effective performance in such roles.
Similarly, the promotion of professors to administrative positions without adequate consideration of their administrative abilities can result in inefficiencies and challenges within academic departments or institutions. This can lead to situations where individuals who were excellent scholars find themselves struggling to manage budgets, handle personnel issues, or navigate complex institutional politics.
To mitigate the potential negative effects of the "Peter Principle" in academia, institutions can consider the following approaches:
- Professional Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for individuals who are being considered for or transitioning into higher roles. This can include workshops on leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and other relevant skills.
- Mentorship: Pair individuals transitioning into higher roles with mentors who have experience in those roles. This can help them navigate the challenges and expectations associated with their new positions.
- Assessing Skills: During the promotion process, assess not only an individual's academic achievements but also their potential for success in the new role. This could involve evaluating their interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and willingness to adapt to new challenges.
- Clear Expectations: Clearly communicate the expectations and responsibilities associated with higher academic positions to candidates and provide them with the support needed to succeed.
- Diversify Roles: Consider creating roles that allow individuals to continue focusing on their strengths while delegating tasks that require different skill sets to those who excel in those areas.
It's important to note that while the concept of the Peter Principle provides a framework for understanding potential challenges in academic promotions, not all promotions in academia result in ineffective performance. Many academics successfully transition to higher roles and contribute effectively to their institutions.

How do I get a mentor for this field of research and development, to help me robust my research skills?!
With AI now capable of drafting, analyzing, and even hypothesizing, do we still define researchers by what they write—or by what they contribute uniquely through judgment, ethics, and critical insight?
Is the academic role evolving from content creator to knowledge curator, system designer, or mentor of machine-human collaboration?
I welcome your perspectives—especially across disciplines and regions—on how we should redefine academic identity in light of these shifts.
هل تتغير هوية الأكاديمي في عصر تُكتب فيه الأوراق العلمية بالذكاء الاصطناعي؟
Feel free to reflect, challenge, or enrich the question—your contributions are valuable.
One or two tips from you for young students who want to start medical research but don't know where to begin 🤷♂️
Instructional leader to serves as mentors for High Schools
Instructional leaders to serves as mentors for university students.
The workforce must constantly evolve, yet many struggle to let go of outdated practices. How can organizations embed unlearning and relearning into their professional culture? Should leadership promote adaptive mindsets through ongoing training, mentorship, or organizational restructuring? How can companies and the workforce balance stability with the need for continuous reinvention, ensuring employees remain receptive to change without experiencing burnout or resistance?
I rely on careful planning and prioritization to ensure effective support for students without compromising other tasks.
In academic settings, mentorship is meant to support students professionally—not to shape their personal lives. However, what happens when a senior academic figure initiates personal involvement, only to later impose their authority in ways that go beyond professional ethics?
Consider a case where a student is repeatedly encouraged by a respected academic mentor to meet someone from their personal network. Initially hesitant, the student declines multiple times but ultimately agrees out of trust and professional respect. The relationship develops naturally, and the student, balancing personal and academic priorities, makes the decision to proceed at their own pace—choosing to focus on their thesis defense before making further commitments.
However, after some time, this senior academic figure takes a sudden shift, now framing the situation in moral terms rather than respecting the student’s autonomy. Though the relationship had developed with mutual consent, the mentor:
✔ Intervened weeks later, after external influence from their personal environment.
✔ Accused the student of "betraying trust," despite the relationship being private and personal.
✔ Dismissed the student’s personal agency, framing their choices as impulsive or opportunistic rather than intentional.
✔ Took advantage of their position, using their academic authority as a means to exert personal control.
✔ Ultimately influenced the relationship’s outcome, not based on incompatibility between the couple, but on external pressures and imposed judgment.
💡 This raises critical ethical questions:
- Should senior academics have any role in influencing a student’s personal relationships, especially when they were the ones who initiated it?
- Where is the ethical boundary between professional mentorship and personal interference?
- How should academic institutions prevent faculty members from using their authority to impose personal or moral beliefs on students?
📌 At what point does mentorship become manipulation, and how do we ensure academic power is not misused for personal influence?
Hello,

Ethical writing is a cornerstone of academic integrity and credibility. It ensures that research is conducted and presented honestly, responsibly, and transparently. This article explores the significance of ethical writing in academia, common ethical issues, strategies for maintaining integrity, and the role of institutions and educators in promoting ethical practices.
Definition and Importance of Ethical Writing
Ethical writing refers to the practice of producing academic work that adheres to established standards of honesty, accuracy, and fairness. It involves proper attribution of sources, accurate reporting of data, and respect for intellectual property. Ethical writing is crucial for several reasons:
1. Credibility: Ethical writing enhances the credibility of the author and the research. It ensures that findings are trustworthy and can be relied upon by other scholars.
2. Reproducibility: Accurate and honest reporting of research methods and results allows other researchers to replicate studies, which is essential for scientific progress.
3. Academic Integrity: Upholding ethical standards maintains the integrity of the academic community and fosters a culture of trust and respect.
Common Ethical Issues in Academic Writing
1. Plagiarism: Plagiarism involves using someone else's work or ideas without proper attribution. It is a serious ethical violation that undermines the originality and credibility of academic work.
2. Data Fabrication and Falsification: Fabricating or falsifying data involves manipulating research results to present false findings. This practice is unethical and can lead to significant consequences, including retraction of published papers.
3. Authorship Disputes: Disputes over authorship arise when there is disagreement about who should be credited for a piece of work. This can lead to conflicts and undermine collaborative efforts.
4. Duplicate Publication: Publishing the same research in multiple journals without proper disclosure is considered unethical and can distort the academic record.
Strategies for Avoiding Plagiarism and Ensuring Integrity
1. Proper Citation: Always give credit to the original authors by citing sources accurately. Please familiarize yourself with different citation styles (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) and use them consistently.
2. Paraphrasing and Quoting: When using someone else's ideas, either paraphrase them in your own words or use direct quotes with proper attribution. Ensure that paraphrasing is not just a superficial change of words but a genuine rephrasing of the original idea.
3. Use Plagiarism Detection Tools: Tools like Turnitin and Grammarly can help identify potential instances of plagiarism and ensure that your work is original.
4. Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of your research process, including data collection and analysis. This ensures transparency and allows others to verify your findings.
5. Collaborative Agreements: When working with co-authors, establish clear agreements about authorship and contributions at the outset to avoid disputes later.
The Role of Institutions and Educators in Promoting Ethical Writing
1. Education and Training: Institutions should provide training on ethical writing practices, including workshops and courses on plagiarism, citation, and research integrity.
2. Clear Policies: Establish and communicate clear policies on academic integrity, including consequences for ethical violations. Ensure that students and researchers are aware of these policies.
3. Support Systems: Provide resources and support for students and researchers, such as writing centers, mentorship programs, and access to plagiarism detection tools.
4. Encourage Open Dialogue: Foster an environment where ethical issues can be openly discussed. Encourage students and researchers to seek guidance when in doubt about ethical practices.
5. Role Models: Educators and senior researchers should model ethical behavior in their own work. Leading by example reinforces the importance of maintaining high ethical standards.
In conclusion, ethical writing is fundamental to the integrity and credibility of academic research. By understanding common ethical issues and adopting strategies to avoid them, writers can ensure that their work is honest, accurate, and respectful of intellectual property. Institutions and educators play a crucial role in promoting ethical writing practices, creating a culture of integrity that benefits the entire academic community.

I am interested in hearing from you. I recently saw a GenAI-driven platform mentor math teachers who are adjusting their teaching to suit the class best.
It was remarkably accurate (so I was told, as I am not a mathematician) and had been set up by the company to act in more of a coaching style.
I have researched various pros and cons around this question, but I want your thoughts on trusting GenAi with your career decisions.
Dear Research Gate community,
I am reaching out in a moment of great importance in my academic journey. Unfortunately, my former supervisor retired, leaving me without guidance to complete and publish an article based on my thesis. Despite my efforts, I have not yet found the right mentor in my research area to help me navigate this process.
The article is a culmination of years of research and holds significant potential in its field. I am deeply committed to ensuring it reaches publication, and I believe the right collaboration can make this possible.
If you are an expert in Emotional states in learning process or know someone who might be willing to supervise and guide me in this endeavor, I would be immensely grateful for your support or recommendations. Your assistance at this critical juncture could make a profound difference in my academic life.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Sara Shadabi
Dear Research Gate
I'm preparing my research on The Impact of Mentorship Program for nurse’s job satisfaction and intention to stay among nurses .
I'm looking to ask permission to adapt the tool that already being used for the research title above.
Thank you
For my research, I have to measure teachers' mentorship. If you have or have created tools/Scales, please send them to me.
I'm new to the research field. So, I was suggested to find/get an advisor/mentor/supervisor for research. I am interested in Feature Selection Machine Learning and have started to learn on my own. How do I get them? I know this question might be off. But I'm lost!
Give me a literature format answer and findings of the previous research work on that.
The requirement of two or three publications for PhD scholars stems from the UGC's directive that guides must have a minimum of three publications in the relevant research area to qualify. However, many guides fail to meet this requirement, making them legally ineligible to mentor PhD candidates. This jeopardizes scholars' futures. Consequently, scholars collaborate with their guides to publish articles, ensuring compliance with the UGC's guidelines. While research dissemination is often emphasized, scholars sometimes struggle to publish due to insufficient expert input. The solution lies in understanding the problem, not in conflict, but in collaboration and collective effort to confront reality. So find a subject matter expert, get input and publish
Most institutes have over 1000 to 15,000+ candidates waiting in line for publication, and it's a severe problem .... there is a shortage of subject matter experts. Pls, understand. There is a massive shortage of reviewers, too. The publication waiting time has gone beyond ten months and more.
This question is based on this article that I found on .I hope that someone can help me here and can give related articles so that I can read it.
I am researching on pesticide residues and Heavy Metals concentrations of some food crops. I have my samples already prepared and I will be glad for referrals or mentorship in this aspect.
Acquiring research skills through alternative methods involves seeking non-traditional avenues to develop the ability to conduct effective research. This may include:

These terms are often used together and have quite distinct differences.
Do the terms need qualification further, for example, a Sports Coach, Business Coach, Personal Coach, or Life Coach?
When it comes to mentoring,, we do not seem to apply a qualifying work such as Sports mentor, Business mentor, Personal mentor, or Life mentor, should there be?
Hello all, I am seeking to find Co-Authors and mentors to assist me in my public health research - specifically, I am writing a paper on Cardiovascular Mortality by planning district in Philadelphia and using the SDOH makeup of that said planning district to determine potential areas for improvement or further research questions, i.e. how race is the only category that follows Cardiovascular Mortality 1:1 Throughout all planning districts.
I am interested in how I can find Co-Authors or a Mentor for this research.
I am very entry level but for the classes I am taking it is vital that I use what I am learning via the writing of research.
Thank you in advance.
Dear all,
I am seeking for your kind advise, anyone of you could support me to write my 1st abstract, :)
I did read a lot in addition to courses, but still hesitated as I am looking for a mentor advise please.
So i am in a undergrad research program in our school, at the end we will need to present our project at a internal conference. But there is also an optional conferences at the main campus of our school. The mentor told me i can submit the same project to the two and it is fine. But I heard that i cannot resubmit work? Or it is because this is internal conference so it does not count as publication? The second conference will publish all the abstract though.
Another question is, since both conferences do NOT requires a paper. Can I write an paper for the same project then publish it in another "real" conference or journal? Because I do not really want to waste this project.
I meant internal conference as most presenters are students from our school.
I come from Subotica, Serbia. I am PhD student in University of Novi Sad, mentored by an excellent pathologist due to lack of mentors from clinical oncology. We are investigating about our thesis, we thought about Trop2 expression and clinicopathological correlation or Her2 low expression and clinical behavior of those patients, both retrospective. What would be more interesting to publish, or is there something else I should also consider that would be important to work on here in Serbia?
An educational workspace could be a school, university, or any team that works in the education, or training field.
This question addresses particularly t the educational manager but meets also any manager's interests.
Once upon a time, while I attend training about leadership, my mentor said to me: you have to create a team. I thought that I had a team, replied, and he said you don't have a team, you need to build it. At that time, I don't really understand what he meant. And I should continue with a group of coworkers and never had a team. When the team doesn't exist you have to fight for anything as collaboration, outcomes at the right time, sharing experiences, etc After three years, in a new office, I became again a team manager, but I didn't especially create this team, but I think I consolidate the team that I inherited from the circumstances. Nevertheless, I think I gave a good contribution not as large as the executive management who had the power to decide whether to recruit or not the profile that I suggest, but it matters.
So, I would like to get others' experiences to compare and reinforce my experience at work; also writing a scientific article.
It is urgent,
I will be thanks full of him/her.
I need experienced scholar in Gender Studies - Women/Girl Education for guidance in my further research.
Defining the dilution factor is very important when we are working at the level of ppb (parts per billion) or ppt (parts per trillion). Other day, I was working on plant biomass samples to analyze available Si (Silicon) in plant biomass. I have gone through several steps of dilution and became so confused about what is DILUTION FACTOR. I did several dilutions at several steps (digestion, adding chemicals, again diluting to come up with the range of AAS) and it became so complicated. As always, I approached Dr. Rafael Santos and he solved this problem very easily, I would say just in 10 minutes when I was struggling for an hour. Finally, Dr. Santos made a good explanation with their whiteboard and step by step he came up with the solution.
Again, doing a Ph.D. is not just collecting and analyzing data but also needs to understand the chemistry happening in between. If you don't know how to do it then seek help. Asking someone doesn't mean your basics are not strong, asking someone means you know what you're looking for but you don't know how to approach it. I am thankful to have Dr. Santos as my mentor, peer and guide.
PS: Here's complex whiteboard solution in the picture :)

Hello friends, knowing that valaidty and Credibility are respectively basically for Quan and Qual study. Want to have more ideas how to work out "valididty" for Qualitative enstudy. FYI, I am working on a doctorate dissertation on marketplace mentorship for millennials by senior leaders. Thank you very much!
Doing dissertation on mentorship .
I am doing my disseration on workplace mentorship for millennials in Hong Kong. A very under-studied tpoic. It is a qualitative in-depth interview study focusing on mentor perspectives. Want to ask if measurement scales like GMMP, MFS, MCA etc are applicable only to quantitative survey questionnaire? If and how can I use exiting Quan scales to build my interview questions for 1-on-1 interviews with participants ? Or is it simply not suitable approach to apply QUAN scales to QUAL studies? Thank you very much
One could rightly observe that enrolment of female children in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines is not at par with their male counterparts. This mismatch in enrolment is influenced by many factors, too numerous to mention. As parents, guardians, mentors or teachers, how can we stimulate the interests of our female children in STEM? Sharing is caring. Thanks!!!
Dear All,
In my doctorate research i have cited MacKinlay (1997) for the procedure and equations of conducting event study using market model. My mentor commented that it is an old reference and asked for recent one without any recommendations from his side.
What similar papers i can use that can be recent for the market model procedure and model accuracy ?
Your urgent advise is much appreciated.
Thanks
The question framing this RG-Discussion is inspired by a recent enriching collaboration I participated in, and which I invite you to read in full and share (see the link to the full article, below):
- “Mentor relationships are crucial to retention, success, and wellbeing of women and underrepresented minority (URM) scientists in academia. Effective mentorship requires a unique personal relationship between individuals at different career stages, and this cannot always be achieved in the traditional dyadic mentor-mentee relationships. Further on, this model of mentoring does not overcome the obstacles that women and URMs face during their academic careers, especially their declined representation at later stages in the career path which increases the burden on the available mentors even more. Here we suggest that institutions should focus their efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) differently, adding effort to mentoring strategies to increase DEI and promoting multi-mentor programs. A network of diverse mentors may support achieving long-term career goals, advancement, and retention of both mentors and mentees, thus enhancing DEI initiatives. This network distribution of mentors breaks the pyramidal structure toward less representation of women and URMs in senior positions and increases collective performance by magnifying resources. By diversifying the academic community with which mentors and mentees actively engage, scientific advancement can be achieved in a nurturing environment, consequently having a positive impact on productivity. Therefore, fostering mentorship networks through policy changes and active implementation of programs should be a high priority for any academic institution undertaking DEI efforts. Healthier work environments, more inclusive science training, and better outcomes for professionals from all backgrounds would ideally ensue as successful program implementation broadens, creating a virtuous cycle of enriched mentoring for future generations.”
Although our publication refers specifically to Academic Mentoring Networks, I invite you to wonder about and examine our/your Academic Networks in general. Please share your experience and thoughts.
Ale

I have done a fair amount of well-cited research in the early 2000 period on Entrepreneurial Learning.
I am now interested in psychology, early childhood experiences and the mental health aspects of entrepreneurs and how
1. It could lead to a disposition to become an entrepreneur
2. The push-pull factors related to early childhood or lifelong experiences
3. Should we account for psychological make-up in match entrepreneurs to mentors?
4. How can we support entrepreneurs through critical incidents in their business that triggers underlying psychological distress
In all, I am keen to understand the research existing around entrepreneurs, learning and cognition, emotion and behaviour.

Dear scholars,
I have an interest in building a research area touching on gender and its impact on leadership & management styles/practices.
Any guidance on how to approach the subject matter? In addition, are there theoretical approaches aligned to gender, leadership, and management?
Any willing mentors?
Hi, I'm an undergraduate research student working in the labs this summer, and my mentor and I are stumped. We work with an MG16-55 strain E. coli, and up until recently, our optical density measurements were tracking consistently over a 5-7 hour growth curve. We had two runs with significantly higher readings and hypothesized the media temperature or an unknown contaminent caused the higher reads. Uncultured media grew nothing in our incubator though, and our temperature-controlled stored media is tracking data from last fall when the lab was cooler instead of the runs from this summer when it is warmer. Does anyone have any idea what else we should be looking for?
It is a requirement in many universities these days to publish their thesis research before they graduate. How can mentors/ supervisors navigate the thin line between allowing the student to work independently without a lot of input and at the same time produce a nice paper for a good journal, especially for weak students? Is this why it is better for a student to publish after graduation?
I will be writing my Masters thesis by August. Would like someone to mentor me on the relevant topics that are industry driven. How to make the best choice of the topic and why it will be beneficial to my future
Starting my dissertation proposal and I find myself all over the show.. I need advice and mentorship. Anyone willing to read and provide an honest opinion?
Hey all, I am looking for some literature on mentoring programs and internship programs for a paper. If anything is specific to Native or Indigenous people that would be great. Thank you in advance!!!
Ok ,so here is another question about qualitative studies. In my dissertation IRB I included the following:
- Video recordings of mentor/intern meetings
- Virtual focus group meetings with mentors and interns
- Individual interviews after focus group meetings as necessary to address unanswered questions from above related to my research questions.
- Reflections from interns over the course of the study with specific prompts
My question is, if the interns and mentors do not want to do all the items listed above, is it okay to allow them to only participate in focus groups. If they don't want to do focus groups with other mentors/interns would it be okay to just have interviews with mentor/interns that work together (in pairs). I think some of the mentors are hesitant to participate with others (not sure why exactly other than possibly the comfort level). Do you think this strays too far even if it can help answer my research questions? Should I turn in an amended IRB? I know I will have to rewrite parts of my chapter 3 but I have heard/understand things like this happen in qualitative studies and sometimes you get a completely different set of data than you originally planned for because of what you learn/gain throughout the study. I love the idea of qualitative studies and learning from participants, but I struggle because sometimes I think too much in black/white pictures. I am a "rule follower" of sorts.
Thanks everyone!

Hi, I am thinking to create a group (on Whatsapp/Facebook or on any other application) of students, teachers, and mentors in which we all will share our ideas that how we can discover new things in science. What do you suggest is it a good idea? And will it work?
The benefit of this group will be that everyone can share and will have access to knowledge free of cost and can work in collaboration.
Please give your suggestions. Suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Regards,
Mubasher
This is an interesting case study brought to my attention. If you perform research in a laboratory with your mentor/advisor, then your mentor advisor indicates to not include them on a research submission, is this ethical? What responsibilities does your mentor/advisor and you have at this point?
This was another interesting case study I was reminded of after critically debating the rights and responsibilities of graduate students / faculty mentors, and recent responses to another case study.
In this case, tentative publications were listed out and one effort was identified to be the responsibility of a the primary investigator, i.e. mentor. However, the mentor over time was identified as being lazy even among colleagues and never followed through with developing a manuscript. Further, the mentor even requested to not be reminded of the commitment! What does a student do given these circumstances? Early publications can be important and even tallied by potential hire(s). Timeliness, demonstration of team work, and breadth of research effort outcomes are related facets of this case study.
Hello, I am a graduate student majoring in mechanical design. My mentor doesn't have a project now, I' m confused.Could you tell me what project everyone is studying? The scope is probably product innovation or structural design.I hope to find out from your answers about my research.
Because I really don't know what to study
Hello to all,
i am learning internet of things , i believe participating in writing a technical paper on iot will be a good influence on my career , but i don't know how to start ? , where to find colleagues ? , what qualifies a person to write a good tech. paper ? .

Hello mentors! I am validating the RNA_Seq data results and now confirmed 9 genes via RT_qPCR. These genes are actively participating in the specific reproductive pathways and thus assist the testis development and spermatozoon production in bovine. Now! i want further analysis of these validated genes to make the results more concise and clear. So, how can i further analyse these already validated genes?
Within the professional circle of educational research, there are many people who I want to be in a few years, but how do I approach a potential mentorship?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have observed that most highly rank academics in developing nations e.g Nigeria rarely display mentor- mentee relationship
There is no recipe or true guide to graduate school. However, the mentor relationship can contribute significantly to a research career. What are the essential qualities, outcomes, characteristics of an academic mentor. This question is geared towards higher education administration students and colleagues alike.
I have the ideas and model ready, need further assistance in writing the research paper
Dear researchers, scholars, academicians, inventors, scientists, innovators and all my folks there, after leaving 9 yrs of university studies and i am always intrigue to solve the waste issues and eco-friendly alternative packaging. I have ideas and finding solutions with little knowledge that i learned, collected and following all the updates till now the discovery had done. I want to understand and study more because i think i lack some skills or i need to dig more deeper to deliver my ideas. If anybody could suggests, guide or mentor me where i could learn or study or do scientific research about areas on waste to energy, fuel cells, hydrogen energy, alternative eco-friendly packaging, gasification techniques with zero harm to environment.
Grateful to you all for your valuable time and i appreciate and welcome any of your suggestions.
Regards.
I would like to look at this in the context of mentoring outcomes for mentors.
I am applying for a postdoctoral fellowship that requires the following for their application:
- Letter of motivation (please include the names of at least two FENS faculty members who are closest to your proposed area of research; you may collaborate with these individuals or they may mentor you during the fellowship)
- Short description of your scientific field of interest and a research plan (max. two A4- size pages).
Any suggestions on how to write the motivation letter in this case and how it would be different from the cover letter?
Ancient Greek civilization gave the world a lot of excellent philosophers, whose concepts interwoven with invaluable thoughts about education.
(384-322 BC) raised the mentor to the highest level in society: He created the Likey educational institution in Athens, which he supervised over twelve years. The writings written by him during these years were summaries of conversations that the philosopher conducted with his students in Likey. A. believed that man possesses both a vegetable soul (it needs nutrition and is doomed to decomposition), an animal soul (feelings, sensations) and a rational soul - pure, ethereal, universal and immortal. Therefore, in matters of upbringing, he did not prioritize concern for the afterlife immortal being and insisted on taking equal care of all three types of the human soul.
The most systematic views of Aristotle on upbringing and education are set forth in the treatise Politics.
Considering the eternal problem of the relationship between social and biological determinants in education, Aristotle took a flexible position. He believed that on the one hand, "only good offspring can come from good parents," and on the other, "nature often strives for this, but cannot achieve this."
So nowadays is it actual ? or we must up bring students in high education system ?
I am a student pursuing Masters in Physics, In my final year I have to do master thesis related to these topics, does anyone is aware of such a person who can mentor me in exploring the fundamentals with the perspective of time?
I would be interested in resources that pertain to how identity or the different roles we possess in dance making (dancer, teacher, spectator, mentor, etc.) influence creative processes in creating choreography. I am particularly interested in social dance, but any dance style examined with this research question in mind is warmly welcomed!
Thank you in advance!

Hi, I am looking for a mentor as author supervisor on specific pathology topics/projects for my dream path portal!
Background: There is a US-based pathology portal, which I have been using since I saw histo in my very first semester in med school. I bought books there, participated in quizzes and heavily used knowledge based content portal. Consequently, I feel very sentimentally and strongly about this resource and the project below.
What is now: During CAP19 in Orlando, I asked if I could write some small part of the content for them. Surprisingly, they said yes, however, I need to come up with the supervisor in any field, so I can start. The main author is required to be at attending level in the United States, but does not have to be licensed or practicing in the USA.
What's next: I am looking for preceptor with minimal time investment on their part and can provide more details. I think, it's hard for me to wait until I become an attending myself, because this portal groomed me as a person, who I am today. As much as I have long ways to go, this was the source, that solidified my interest in pathology and once they said: "yes ... [I} can be writing now, not later... but under supervision", I have been having hard times to wait for one of my own preceptors to free up on time or for me to reach the level of attending.
What will you get: good Karma coming your way, satisfaction that you inspired an upcoming doctor and your name as author on each publication with minimum time investment on your part
What will I get: to do all the writing, proof reading, editing and preparation for submission. I require very little sleep and have a very thick skin; a perfect combination for any preceptor.
Please PM me or respond below,
- if you have a particular website/source in mind, where I can look for the senior authors contacts
- if you require more information or you are interested in guiding an up and coming physician.
thank you, ASE
I am trying to deliver a fluorescent tag polyhydroxyalkanotes nano composite for targeted drug delivery and monitoring. However, due to my insufficient work experience on anti cancer drug delivery I need some suggestions. Is there any one working on same field willing to become a mentor on this regards?
We need more dissertation guides at our university. Particularly in the IT area but across all areas. This requires regular interaction with the mentees, reviews of their writing and understanding of our process. This is an online process with three residency meetings (you don't have to attend these). Please let me know if you have an interest.
I am a DBA student and my research is a qualitative case study on Digital Marketing Strategies of SME leaders in Nigeria. I am considering a Diffusion of Innovation theory as a framework. I was advised by my mentor to find a theory and identify a model within the theory to use. Is that the structure for a theoretical or conceptual framework?
For my research methodology in qualitative research on 'Critical Reflective Practices' I am using both my reflective journal (action research) and interviews as data sources for research design. Can both (journal + interview = findings) be called mixed method or methodological triangulation? Please again consider following two points while answering:
1. I couldn't rely on my reflective journal as its not free from subjective biases and I didn't have a mentor or expert to share my reflection.
2. Interviews were conducted to further validate the research and to defy my subjective biases from reflective journal.
I am conducting a qualitative study on SMME mentorship, through the use of semi-structured interviews. I am trying to establish what would be the best way to analyse the interviews i.e. content or thematic analysis. What is the preferred manner for interviews ?
there bis a high shortage of nursings in south africa currently so there is a high pressure in the units so the mentorship would be ficible for proper mentorship
