Modern organizations are global entities with employees working at home ,in offices ,retail outlets ,service centers or manufacturing plants ,scattered throughout the world.Organisations such as BMW ,Apple ,Microsoft ,Goldman Sachs and many others with complex systems are challenging their employees on a global scale.
Although new methods of managing employees are needed to keep pace as organizations ,business environment and technologies change ,we must not forget the way in which management was practiced over the decades. This is because management as we know it today is built on managerial practices of the past.

Dear all,
New researcher here!
Yesterday I had a dismal conversation with a more senior researcher who told me that international journals do not publish constructivist case studies (he said that if I "just" wanted a PhD, it would be fine, but not to be a published researcher).
The focus of my research is the aftermath of a natural disaster on a specific region and how management cope with it. It is within management theory and post-disaster theory. Since it's related to climate change, environmental action AND business, I always thought it could be quite publishable.
Care to share your thoughts? Thank you!
My question is simply based on the observation: if Industry 4.0 is based on computers and artificial intelligence supported by the Internet infrastructure, and computers are so powerful (computing power) that their performance is higher than human, in this sense that any decision made by computer is far better, faster, efficient than taken by human (no matter is it a game or trade decision) what is the role of management?
Management is the most human action, making a decision is based on many factors, which computer can compute faster and faster, so is there any need for human action?
Do we need management in the digital age? What management theory is related to Industry 4.0 or the 4th revolution?

Management theory was for long dominated by Causation, (just think about Kotler, in other words Planning, Implementing and follow up.) a different theory that has gained momentum in the last years ( Even if it was first launched in 2001 by Saras D Sarasvathy) is the theory of effectuation that is means driven instead of ends driven. I studied those theories quite extensively but found that when it comes to effectuation there is still no consensus, in other words the theory is not yet mature, something that is in my view a bit odd since the theory is 20 years old just about. Why do you think it has taken such a long time for this theory to mature? my second question. What is the relevance of Kotlers Marketing Management today? Still relevant or? Your thoughts?

More and more specialists argue that the current management is obsolete - left behind to the growing complexity of political, social, economic and environmental issues which managers need to solve, and that it needs to be improved using recent scientific discoveries. ( Search on Google “Management is obsolete” and see: https://www.libris.ro/scientific-systemic-management-constantin-CMH978-1533-2318-88--p1046798.html )

In his outstanding book, The Human Equation: Building Profits by Putting People First, Stanford University's Jeffrey Pfeffer offers the observation that the biggest cause of business failure is due to the misuse of "conventional wisdom." Pfeffer suggests that many commonly accepted management theories are actually untrue and detrimental to business success. Do you agree with Pfeffer? Which examples of "conventional wisdom" do you believe to be most dysfunctional?
Dear Colleagues .....

1- what is the best statistical analysis program in this case?i did read some articles about "nvivo" that it can appropriate, however, there are great number of statistical analysis programs instead of "spss" such as smartpls and when read about it i found some articles recommended it for "theory building", also i read about other programs (stata,r,mitilab....etc).
2- can i measure "reability" here bu using "composite reability" instead of "cronbach alph"?
3- is better if i did do "experimental study" before doing field study?
Thank you very much for your time.

I would like any experts to share what are the success factors to impress their new team members when they newly joined a team or department.
Besides of that, what management theory or strategy should be used by a new leader to impress their new staffs so they will follow his/her leads. You opinion will be useful for one of my brief studies.
We all know the theory-practice gap also in management research. For me I would like to know what are the most well-known concepts or theories that were adopted by practitioners and why? E.g. it could be Porter‘s 5 Forces or Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas. But are there other ones? Maybe older or newer?

Are you familiar with the theoretical perspectives of logistics outsourcing under the following business theories:
1. Transaction cost theory?
2. Resource-based theory?
3. Network theory?
Are you familiar with logistics outsourcing benefits being defined in terms of better quality, flexibility, cost reduction, delivery, and innovation?
If so, do you have a bit of time to provide your inputs as a member of a panel evaluating indices used to measure the above concepts?
I have developed a measurement tool using formative definitions of these constructs and need a panel of 10-15 experts to run an external validity test of my tool.
Please, let me know if you have the time to act as a member of the evaluation panel and I will send you the questionnaire. The evaluation should take less than 30 minutes of your time. I will send you a link to the questionnaire on SurveyMonkey. This is an academic research project; the evaluation is not being conducted for commercial purposes. To protect your privacy, your responses will be anonymously collected through SurveyMonkey.
Thank you in advance for your time and inputs!

It seems the theories that exist in todays management are not new; however, the old theories are stated in another format and only phrases and words have been changed. What is your opinion on this subject?
I am working on a paper and require applications of the theory of planned behaviour, specifically those used in organizational settings or Human Resource Management contexts.
Although it is easy to google it, I hope to find a few resourceful websites that put these theories together and explain them systematically so as to become a platform for final year and postgraduate students to start with.
There was a time when transaction cost economics, contingency theory, information theory were popular theories in management and business research. Nowadays, these theories seem to be regarded as old fashioned and a thing of the past. What are the reason in your expert opinion?
