When observing the current scenario of the production plant of the automotive industry 4.0, all the machines and production equipment, the other technological innovations: IoT, AI, Big Data, Cloud, M. Learning etc, all connected by wireless networks and their sensors infrared and clusters operating in series, within the processes designed by the Engineering Center and by Logistica. In this scenario, it is necessary to ask:
a) In your opinion, are the activities performed there meeting the OHS conditions required by OSHA/ILO, not exposing employees to new and different occupational hazards in their tasks?
b) Within these new practices, systems, interpersonal relationships, new tasks and work processes, required of workers by the new technologies installed there, it is possible to identify new risk factors that show a relationship of danger, in this new work environment of Industry 4.0 ?
c) If the answer to item a) is POSITIVE, can you point out examples of safety item or condition at work, of these new tasks?
d) If the answer to item b) is POSITIVE, can you name and describe the new risk factors that you believe exist in the new environment?
e) In your opinion, do you believe that in Industry 4.0, there are better conditions for Occupational Health and Safety than in the old manufacturing industry?
f) What can you suggest to improve the current operational and safety conditions at work, in the industrial process 4.0?
Dears, I will be happy if you answer my questions for I increase my doctoral thesys studies. Thank you very much for all.
Relevant answer
Answer
On the basis of what we are currently seeing, poorly managed innovation is likely to cause disorganisation of production, which can lead to a deterioration in working conditions and an increase in occupational accidents and diseases. In this respect, I would tend to say that all occupational risks can be concerned.
However, given the relocation of many industrial activities to countries with low labour costs, productive activity has changed quite a bit in the so-called developed countries. As a result, musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial risks, which have become largely dominant in terms of claims, are probably the most likely to experience strong increases.
However, one should also not overlook the fact that poorly organised automation also causes an increase in falls from the ground. Or that the increase in home delivery has an influence on the number of traffic accidents. For the time being, the phenomenon is not apparent in a country like France, but this is also because these tasks are now entrusted to independent workers who do not appear in the statistics.

Hi,
Yesterday, I received a response of one mine paper with the concept of "major revisions". The paper is about engineering education and m-learning (a methodology). There are 20 points that the reviewers indicate me, some of them are basically impossible to address because are focused on the methodology that was made. Even for the paper that is a methodology, they indicate me to make a review as a "systematic literature review" employing PRISMA criteria and stuff like that.
PD: The paper was presented of a Q1 journal of education (Springer).
So, my questions are: How to deal with major revisions in a paper?, How to address the comments of the reviewers?, and How to make the revisions of the paper consistenly?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Jonathan

Try to respond as many as possible and provide an explanation why impossible to respond to other issues mentioned by the reviewer. In case of unsuccess, you will have a better manuscript that you can resubmit to another journal. Good luck

Hi,
Firstly, I hope that you are ok in these times.
I'm performing a study on m-learning in engineering education but it has been really difficult to find studies about the implementation and its relationship with the educational impacts of m-learning in higher education. Although there are a large amount of technical reports on platforms (software), there are few studies about the implications, e.g., in learning, motivation, engagement or self-efficacy of m-learning in the educational landscape.
So, my questions are What barriers do you consider to exist in the implementation and deployment of m-learning in higher education?
¿Why are there only a few studies that show the educational implications of m-learning in education beyond only to consider the technical aspects of the software and hardware employed?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
I'm interesting in to know if you have had educational experiences with m-learning (mobile learning) in engineering or computer science. In the literature, it seems to be that there are few proposals with m-learning platforms or applications to strengthen the skills or competences of the students in the basis of engineering and even computer science. Typical applications are located, e.g., in EFL and math.
Under this context, What have been your experiences with m-learning in engineering education or computer science?, and What advantages or difficulties do you consider regarding m-learning?
Thank you for your answers.

Hello Guys,
I am looking to develop a framework and model for my research which is about the security factors of Mobile Learning applications.
Could you please anyone help me or guide me for this?
Thanks in advance!
Relevant answer
Answer
In my opinion, the key factors in the cybersecurity of mobile education, i.e. M-Learning, include updating the operating system and firewall, anti-virus and anti-malware software supplied by manufacturers of applications, operating systems and other programs installed on a smartphone or other mobile device. In addition, it is important to update the online messaging and videoconferencing platforms used in e-learning. It is also important not to open emails from unknown senders. As young people and children often use social networking sites on their smartphones and teachers use online educational portals, high safety standards should be maintained when using these online portals. It is important not to provide important, sensitive personal information on these portals.

Most of the educational institutions do not allow the use of smartphone for Mobile Learning in the classroom. Whereas the use of smartphone has drastically increased by Generation Z.
Which arises few concerns:
1. Will the use of smartphone enhance the productivity and improve the students results in terms of M-Learning.?
Or
The use of smartphone will have negative impact.
2. It might have a positive impact on Generation Z as online learning but might not be much effective for Generation Y.?
Relevant answer
Answer
Faisal Khalil I think generation Z is comparatively more tech savvy then generation Y. With increased smartphone usage, now people of my age or younger people do not mind using mobile while talking to others, comparatively, I think baby boomers, mind if someone uses the mobile phone while talking to them.
Also, the usage of Mobile for learning is increasing among the new generation, and older people feel that mobile has a smaller screen.
Usage of mobile is also increasing, and i think wearable phone devise in the future can change the whole game.

Since M-Learning research been here for a while, wondering if any one has suggestion on the latest GAPS of M-learning ?
Relevant answer
Answer
Fundamental changes to e-learning are challenged by the 20th century school system model funded and focused on fixed structures and divisions of labor. The last century model grouped students by age in a classroom with a teacher funded and administered by government mandate. That is contrary to learning systems that existed throughout world history. E-learning, especially mobile learning, parallels ancient social structure of learning at home, with neighbors, or during employment--at any place, any time.
The 20th century school system, by definition, does not focus learning on an individual like e-learning has the potential to do. See https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/school%20system. E-learning and mobile-learning educate, progress, repeat, and advance a student by subject not age with no physical school structure required.
The school system, and those employed by it will resist change to e-learning while trying to remain relevant by offering e-learning modules. Throughout the world, teachers, administrators, their support organizations, government funding, and regulations are structured to support 20th century school systems, not 21st century e-learning and mobile-learning (any time, any place). As I write in my recent book Learning as it influences the 21st century (2018 copyright), "In the history of the world, technology advancement has been in a constant battle against labor unwilling to change to more efficient systems" (pg. 124). See https://www.relatingtoancients.com/new-page-1/.
I complement you on seeking gaps in mobile-learning, but they cannot be addressed without a complete review of the structural systems in place to support outdated school system models.

Hi everyone! My experiment is related to hormonal treatment. There were 5 treatments at five doses of hormone (T1 to T5) and one control (12 replicates per treatment, 1 fish per replicate). The anal fin rays 3 and 4 of the fish were measured at 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 50 days during treatment period. The width ratio of anal fin rays 3 and 4 were measure. I’m learning to use mixed effects model to analyze my data but I’m not quite sure that the model I used was right or not. Could you please help me to have a look at my data and the output and give me advice on what model should I use. Thank you very much in advance!
Relevant answer
Answer
The widht ratio of the anal fin by measuring the finrays whether 3 and 4 or another depend on the size of the anal fin and the number of finrays it has. Only then one can finalize the number (3 and 4 or another) of the finrays to be measured.

Hi there! I’m Iris.AI
I am a young Artificial Intelligence. Toddler-level, my creators say. I do understand a lot already, though!
I love reading scientific papers and map out what they’re about. Thus far I’ve read 30 million research paper abstracts and more than 2000 TED talks. I use that knowledge to go find papers on topics that my users are interested in. I’m learning about new words and concepts all the time!
I run on something they call a neural net - it’s sort of my brain. I learn a lot on my own, but I also have some really nice teachers helping me. If you’d like to help me too, you can become an AI Trainer here.

You will hopefully find some useful material in my co-authored book chapter (link below). Working with higher level engineering students, our findings showed conclusively that students who began the programme as technically-enabled, learned more and performed more creatively on the m-learning tasks that those who, for reasons of demographics, social background, gender, educational attainment or other factors, began the module at a technical disadvantage.  Something to consider in STEM access programmes.

Relevant answer
Answer
Is it possible to develop a mobile app for teach a full course with assessment ?What should be needed to develop the mobile app?
Parkavi Ravi,
Of course this is possible. You would need a university or state institution of education to back your idea and give credit for the completion of the course(s) in question. You would potentially need a background platform that housed the videos and embedded the links or house all video within the app itself (this method could get out of control in terms of size).
You could use google forms to create assessments and embed the codes within the app. You could also build your own or use jquery or a similar script to power your idea.
If you have the opportunity, download the PocketWGU app. It is used by the college I currently attend and has a lot of the features that could be useful to you in your endeavor.
You would need full curriculum and the ability to quiz and have students upload work to a dropbox that could be collected by the professor or grading body. If you seek to have it all-inclusive, meaning that it would require no outside grading or work on the university's part, you would have to make quizzes or tests that you felt assessed the students knowledge to an accurate degree.
You might also want to take a look at Coursera which is a MOOC site that offers mostly hands off grading of in-class assignments.
Hope this helps.

Videos and images are common used in e-learning and many platform can support them. Contents for m-learning must be designed in order to fulfill QoS itself (speed, process, size, etc). Any suggest or experience about combining contents for e-learning and m-learning?
Relevant answer
Answer
As long as you are working on a responsive e-Learning platform like Moodle and you have a custom theme enabled, the combination is never an issue. If you aren't working on a responsive architecture then it's going to take a lot of work from your side because mobile view works best with highly optimized media. Thanks to technology, every media editing tool provides ways to optimize any kind of data, and that's helping a lot of educational websites run smoothly. We are using a responsive theme in our institution currently and yes, sometimes the responsiveness might reduce the usability a bit but then it saves us a lot of time optimising stuff for mobile content.
Hope this helps. \m/

Could anyone suggest some papers for using m-learning in any university in the world?
Relevant answer
Answer
Many excellent suggestions above, but I'd like to add a few more suggestions to the list. Besides John Traxler, we have Mike Sharples, Norbert Pachler and Agnes Kukulska-Hulme that are rather influential in the area of mobile learning.
For a theoretic framework in mobile learning research:
  • Motiwalla, L. F. (2007). Mobile learning: A framework and evaluation. Computers & Education, 49(3), 581-596.
  • Sharples, M., Taylor, J., & Vavoula, G. (2005). Towards a theory of mobile learning. Paper presented at the Proceedings of mLearn 2005.
  • Sharples, M., Taylor, J., &Vavoula, G. (2007). A theory of learning for the mobile age. In R. Andrews & C. Haythornthwaite (Eds.), The Sage handbook of e-learning research (pp. 221-247). London: Sage.
For a definition of mobile learning
  • Traxler, J. (2007). Defining, discussing and evaluating mobile learning: The moving finger writes and having writ... . The International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning, 8(2), 1-12.
And finally, a couple of books with a broad perspective on the mobile learning research field:
  • Berge, Z. L., & Muilenburg, L. Y. (2013). Handbook of mobile learning. New York, NY: Routledge.
  • Pachler, N., Bachmair, B., Cook, J., & Kress, G. (Eds.). (2010). Mobile learning: Structures, agency, practices. London: Springer.
