What I find amusing is the thought that this might actually have been a slide presentation in front of an audience, inasmuch as it consists of almost nothing but slides full of links (except for the German flag – which is presumably not an a example of humor in Germany).

These clouds worked out as harbingers, and there were two directions - one to the South-East - they worked out in Indonesia, but it seems to me that they are talking about something else - we'll see today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
Similar clouds worked later in a different direction - in the direction of Syria, and they were seen in Haifa, Kiryat Ata and Lod.
I contacted friends and they also saw similar clouds.
What say meteorologists?
Relevant answer
Answer
Thank you for posting this excellent question. Despite the growing body of evidence the link between precursor clouds and earthquakes is still a very controversial issue. Some systematic but still not conclusive thoughts on this are summarized in the recent paper
On the Relation Between Anomalous Clouds and Earthquakes in Italian Land
The form of clouds presented in this thread is indeed quite interesting but I’m not sure if it is unique to arthquakes because I see very similar clouds during my daily walks in the forest. For example, I have attached a picture taken today just before the noon. The photo looks like the halo effect associated with the presence of fine aerosol particles in the atmosphere. After reading your question and many associated papers I have developed some doubts but it is still not easy the accept the theory that such a thin cloud could have any role as a herald of an earthquake.

Hello, I work at midwifery journal in Indonesia, Now we need a reviewer from abroad which already has Scopus indexed publications. Where should I look for people who are interested in becoming reviewers?
Relevant answer
Answer
The issue is that the review of the manuscript has become a commitment of accepting it or not.
Most of them are not willingness to accept the work of the review of the manuscripts.
Everyone is looking for monetary benefits in the fast moving world. Some are interested because of knowing the fact that it will bring indirect academic popularity through Publon.
Time matters it depends on the Academicians who are free will accept to review and they will not expect anything except the Publon, ORCID etc social network popularity only.
As you are telling that your Journal has been Scopus Indexed now. So you have to look for the reviewers with some benefits.
This will be very critical if you will not get reviewers for your Journal.

I am an Australia-based academic needing to interview participants located in Indonesia as part of my research project. I aim to remain in Australia and interview participants remotely using Zoom or Skype. I know that a research permit and research visa would be required if I travelled to Indonesia to undertake face-to-face interviews (Covid-19 not withstanding). However, I am finding it hard to get any clarity as to whether a permit is required for data collection in my circumstances. Would appreciate any help or advice on this matter.

In my understanding, first you should find a partner (institution) that relate to your study to make collaboration with and to get legal permit. Later, a research ethics clearance can be gotten from a research ethical clearance body that available in research agencies in Indonesia.

Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Allsay,
What you have is definitely a sipunculan that could belong to one of 3 genera: 1) Sipunculus, 2) Siphonosoma, or 3) Xenosiphon. I am attaching a paper that has an extensive reference section which can be used to track down some sipunculid taxonomic keys to find out exactly what you may be looking at. Below you can find 3 links that should be useful as well. The easiest is to request assistance from a sipunculid expert! The WORMS web site (see link below) will have them listed when you look at the “Taxonomic edit history” section. Click on their name and you should be able to get their e-mail address. Sorry I can't be of more help, and good luck!

More than one-third of all the food produced globally intended for human consumption is lost from the point of harvest. One way to contribute to meeting the future global demand for food, and more generally raw materials, is by reducing losses through efficient management of upstream agricultural value chains. I did my field research in 2019 focusing on local food security. By the early of 2020, the result of my research specifically on the research area (an inter-country border area between Indonesia and Malaysia) could be not valid anymore due to the hit of Coronavirus. A condition I found in the locus of my research after the Covid-19 hits, is that food flows become limited. Before, foodstuffs in the local market come from both areas (Indonesia & Malaysia), but then after the Covid food comes only from the local area or from internal outsider market in Indonesia. This condition then impacts local (household and community) food security.
So, I would like to get some insights from your experiences in your area about how is Covid-19 affecting your family and community, in terms of four food security pillars; food availability, food accessibility, food utilization, and food stability. You can share your experiences about the four pillars, or you can choose one of them. You can also give a broader opinion about Covid-19 and food security. Thanks
Food availability: how Covid-19 impact or change the availability of food in household/community?
Food access: how it impacts food prices, the ability of people to access food?
Utilization: Are there any changes in food consumption patterns?
Stability: Or how household/community make sure the fulfillment of the food needs during the pandemic?
Relevant answer
Answer
In our country, food is available. Thank God, the availability of food in the markets has not been affected by the pandemic, but food prices have risen as a result of the impact of the global economy and the fall in oil prices, and because our country depends mainly on the export of oil, and the agricultural sector has been neglected a lot, so we notice the rise in food prices because most of it is imported. The great impact of this change was unfortunately on the vulnerable and the poor, but honesty is said, we in our country people enjoy generosity and compassion between them, so in such situations, we usually help each other, and the poor usually have priority in helping ... From this aspect, the world is still fine in my country ... The generosity of Iraqis is always described. My sincere gratitude to everyone.

Dear Marjuni Misri Marjuni,
there is a very large number of pesantren in the Indonesian archipelago; and there is also a great variety of differences. Yet, what many pesantren have in common is the desire to build a bridge between past, present and future.
Parents often send their children to pesantren to preserve religious tradition and pass it on to the younger generation. After graduating these young people are expected to pass on their acquired knowledge to others.
Some parents also send their children to pesantren to keep them away from worldly temptations and to provide them with Islamic knowledge, in addition to secular education. Existing networks between parents, kiai and religious organisations are also often strengthened.

I did some experiments in Indonesia. Nowadays RTK GNSS receivers seem to work better when under vegetation canopy (fixing ratio more than 90%). Is this real, or just a system tweak?
Relevant answer

The improvement is mainly because of large number of GNSS satellites above the receiver (GNSS) at any given point of time. This primarily improve the error adjustments and thus increase the accuracy. However, the issues under canopy still remains to some extent depending on its density.

Up to now, i just work with those datasets using simple method (for example correlation, composite analysis). But still, i can't get such a good result about proving impact of El Nino to macroeconomic in Indonesia and How much the impact of El Nino to macroeconomic.

ALE is one of the solutions to select the channel in HF ionospheric propagations due to the dynamic of Ionosphere. The ionosphere above Indonesia is very unique and known as the area that is also affected by the fountain effect of Ionosphere. If we concern in this 2 object areas, than we have a question about the performance of a waveform of ALE in Indonesia.
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Varuliantor,
welcome,
I came late to this question. I think it is interesting.
The automatic link establishment used in 2G and 3G makes full use of HF narrow band communication to establish a link between the base station and users.
Since the ionsphere is much above the earth the transmitted waves from the base stations will not reach the ionsphere as the antennas are tilted towards the earth to cover specific areas. If there is radiations reflected from earth to sky will be largely attenuated in the upward down ward trip. This one isse.
The other issue is that the used modulation techniques are immune against contamination by interference. For example the 8 FSK used in 2G make , the low bit rate and the wide bandwidth make it immune against to noise. In addition there is error correcting techniques used to increase the gain of the channel.
The waveform used also for 3G is also immunize against interference.
My question is do you observe any worsening in the service because of the ALE?
Best wishes

How do you think what is the main rationale/motive of Indonesia to collaborate with China in education field?
Why China's presence has a fast-growing nature in Indonesia, including education?
Can collaboration of China-Indonesia education sectors be beneficial for both countries and nations?
China and Indonesia has a big gap in the results of internationalisation of higher education, for example, research papers, international student mobility, university collaborations, many others. Besides that Indonesia has one of the largest education systems (population and territory), the country's education situation demands many complex reformations. Moreover, China's presence in Indonesia is growing (investments, CIs, increased scholarships for Indonesian students, etc.). While the Indonesian government announced that China was one of the target countries Indonesia wants to collaborate in the field of education.

I collected these brittle stars from live rock which supposedly comes from Indonesia. I would really appreciate some help in the identifying them to the lowest rank possible. The quality of the photos is really bad - sorry! But when I examined them, they all look like the same species. Please ignore the polychaetes. Thank you in advance!
Relevant answer
Answer
Usha and Gitte:
Not much can be seen in the central area of the brittle Star. However, in Ophiocomella the spines on the 6-rayed arms are curved away from the central area, whereas in Amphioplus, spines are curved towards the central area as illustrated in your specimen. Better preserved specimens could hold the key for proper identification up to species level..

I will do analysis i-RNA and i-DNA with microarray in Japan. Does any body could help me why it is much better to take human serum rather than DNA or RNA extracts from my country (Indonesia)?
Relevant answer
Answer
the problem with biological samples (DNA or RNA) and transport is the degradation during transport. Depending on the way you extracted the samples, the impact of degradation will be higher on RNA. the best way is to extract samples and keep them in alcool and low temperature during transportation.

We believe these results can contribute greatly to this study but for this we would need the results in georeferenced raster format or similar. Can you make these available?

Dear All,
I am investigating the effects of a shock to education to the structure of the labour market in Indonesia. For this, I am trying to access Indonesian inter-censal survey data from 1995 (SUPAS 1995) and labour force surveys from 1986-1999 (SAKERNAS 1986-1999), however I would prefer to not go via the faceless Indonesian Bureau of Statistics as I think that with bureaucracy I will not get the data fast enough. Is there a way in which I can more easily access the datasets?
The data in question has already been used by other researchers. This is for an undergraduate dissertation and I do not currently intend to publish my results.
Many thanks for your help.

My question is based on the regulation of Indonesia general election supervisory body called Bawaslu RI (Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum Republik Indonesia) No. 8/2018 on settlement of administrative violations of general election, Article 64. Which stipulate if there is any party who is not satisfied with the verdict made out by the first stage court conduct by the provincial/district Bawaslu (only applied to the party who is act as the reporter party or the reported party in the case). could ask a favour to the Bawaslu RI as the appeal court to correct the verdict made out by the Provincial/Regency Bawaslu as the first stage court. But, in the process of correction of the verdict by the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu RI). they are not obliged to present the parties which involved in this case, they will only strengthen the verdict made by the provincial or district Bawaslu or correct the verdict by examining the verdict documents and evidence presented in the first stage court. without presenting the parties involved in the case (in other words, they did not apply the audi of alteram et partem principle).

I am looking for k2 values: "humus annual decomposition rates"
for tropical (cocoa) conditions, in Indonesia.
I would like to use them for a simple Hénin-Dupuis modeling experiment on soil organic matter dynamics.
Otherwise, have you heard of a method to approximate the k2 value depending on climate and soil data for example?
Thanks
Relevant answer
Answer
Please go through the following article for detailed information
Soil organic carbon as observed in lowland of continuous rice cropping in guinea savanna..... 2017. Journal of Research in Environmental and Earth Science 3(3):25-34.
Co-efficient of humus mineralization can be calculated by equation of Bouvier et al, 2016
K2= (0.3t - 3)/[(1+0.05 X CL (%)) X (100 + 0.15 CaCO3)(%o)
t = annual average temp, CL % is the proportion of clay in soil, CaCO3 is the soil content of CaCO3 (%), known that 40.04 % is the content of Ca
Qualitative and quantitative differences in SOC can affect the rate of humification.
