Dear researchers,
I am excited to announce the launch of a new collaborative research project on the essence of knowledge. I hope to collaborate with a small group of researchers, producing a preprint, which will be uploaded on ResearchGate and, if possible, submitted for publication in an open-access peer-reviewed journal. I would be honored to work and coauthor a paper with PhD holders and professors from various backgrounds. Although I don’t have a PhD and only hold a Master’s degree, this is an intellectual challenge for me to step out of my academic comfort zone and lead a scholarly project.
This project will be entirely asynchronous, allowing for flexibility. Participants are welcome to join regardless of their disciplinary background, as knowledge is a concept that invites diverse perspectives.
Project Description
Objective
The goal of this project is to collaboratively author a research paper that contributes meaningfully to the exploration of knowledge, demonstrating its multifaceted nature from interdisciplinary perspectives, historico-cultural contexts, analyzing it through philosophical insights, and other field-specific aspects.
Participant Criteria
• Must be a PhD holder or professor.
• Willingness to work asynchronously and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Key Information
• Research questions, project structure, and other information will be available at the beginning of the program.
• Contributors will be listed as coauthors in the final preprint.
• Number of participants: 5–7, including myself.
• This is not an institutional or university project but is independently led by me.
Contributors’ Roles
The central role of contributors will be actively contributing to the paper’s development and coauthoring alongside others. Additional tasks may include refining ideas, editing sections, and providing feedback.
Project Coordinator: Amalya Sukiasyan
As the coordinator, I will take the lead in starting and managing the project while also contributing and coauthoring alongside other participants.

Hi there,
I am pretty new to Rietveld refinement and I am trying to do the analysis on the std material LaB6 Nist 660a. The goal is to extract the IRF function of the instrument.
I am using Fullprof software to do the refinement.
The best I can achieve is not so good (chi=23, I upload the PCR file). I notice that most of the error is coming from low angle peaks, which are very asymmetric...As you can see in the pcr I already tried to fit the asymmetric coefficient, so I am wondering if is it normal to have this asymmetry with a standard material or should I change some instrumental parameters and redo the measurment? (soller, slits...)
Moreover, should i remove the CuKalpha contribution when doing the refinment of the STD material?

Paradoxically: quite unlikely, as it's not much time left to 2030.
On one hand data centers are terribly energy hungry which is going in the opposite direction with emission targets. Big Tech is so desperate for more stable and not overtly expensive energy that is going to give second chance to nuclear energy and build a few new reactors in mid run.
You'd need some breakthrough overnight to see spectacular results on major metrics until 2030. Let's say ex. AI protein folding would produce you a few brilliant drug candidates. Before you run all suitable tests and get all approvals, you're already late.
I'm not saying that it wouldn't work in mid term (most likely would), just this particular time frame is too short.

Dickson Matiko Kisyeri -- Dickson, I’m familiar with articles, speeches and publications discussing ideas for “functions of management and the importance of organizational structure in an institution”. — More often they’re a “how-to-guide” that expects every business will fit into. — In my experience we “re-discover” management and organizational structures every 5 years; approximately the time of each new generation of students leave the university, encounter real world business structures and the people behind them -and- decide they can do better. — Often learning that behind all our theories of best “business structure concepts” are people with the experience and willingness to accommodate change and unknown & unexpected events. In addition, its easy to forget how we apply all these concepts to people is part of a business structure. In particular, the national, local and family cultures of the people. For example; will your list of business structures and concepts work with, respect and in some cases accommodate people from a variety of cultures and religions? - All too often we forget and/or conveniently ignore how this contributes to our business plan. I recommend creating management and business structures with people and their culture versus as an “idealized” concept. Design it to accommodate a wide variety of people and the needs of a variety of cultures versus expecting people to fit into a rather academic approach to working and living. In other words respect the people that help make a business “work”. The short version; ideas don’t matter - how you talk to and apply them to people and your specific business matters more. We have started a synthesis effort called the “Global Spectra-Trait Initiative” (https://github.com/plantphys/gsti/tree/main) to gather datasets of paired leaf gas exchange (A-Ci curves) and leaf optical reflectance data.
The overarching goal is to create a database of spectra and physiological trait data we can use to develop spectra trait models for the prediction of the photosynthetic capacity of leaves.

Our primary scientific goal is to investigate various cognitive, behavioral and socio-psychological phenomena that arise, and are most certainly connected to modern digital media consumption. We synthesize the knowledge, publish original research and maintain a large database on quality research on the topics, in order to establish causative connections where there have only been correlations so far. I am trying to test the coincidence lattice method for the interface between wurtzite (0001) GaN and cubic diamond (111). How do I rotate the two lattices with respect to one another using VESTA?? I am fairly familiar with the VESTA interface and have used it extensively, just not for something like this. For reference, I am wanting to do something like in figure 4 of this paper ( ), where the hexagonal lattice is matched to the cubic lattice (experimental results have told us that the angle is somewhere between 20-25 degrees). Instead, attention has been placed on managing the consequences of pollution production markets which keeps renewable energy as a permanent complement and send dirty markets under permanent dirty market failure.

Hi im on my final project for my thesis and i get stucked in cloning phase. My goals is to inserting one gene to vector who has another gene too. So i have a gene called llm2-mutan and llm1 who's completely ligated with pet28a(+) as my vector/backbone. I'm trying everything like ligating in 16 C overnight, 22 C 3h, etc. My gene llm2-Mutan was a pcr product. Everytime i checking my colony using PCR with electrophoresis is always showing 1100 bp, but my goals is 2100 bp because i must insert 2 gene in one vector. Lanes 3 and 4 are my vector (plasmid) which have a size 6469 bp before double digest . The size of my vector after double digest with EcoRI + XhoI is 5754 bp. Otherwise lanes 6-8 more smaller than lanes 3-4 because they are my insert (PCR product), they have a size around 1000-1100 bp. I'm doing a mutation for my insert using overlapping method with PCR to change the EcoRI restriction site. The wild type insert which is lanes 7 have a restriction site EcoRI in the middle of the gene. So if i digesting Wild type gene using EcoRI, my sequence gene suddenly get digested too. otherwise lanes 8 is single digest LLM2-Mutan whos undigested by EcoRI and have a size 1100 bp. Its different with Lanes 7 LLM2 Wild type whos get digested using EcoRI with a size 891bp.@ The lane 6 is double digest LLM2-Mutan using EcoRI and XhoI (1000 bp)

The essence of Nature and Man: The most fundamental essence of humanity is to strive towards "the freedom of the will", based on real knowledge of the world and of itself– a subjectivity and the dialectical unity of the opposites of the objectivity of blind Nature (and as a part of Nature itself); in this infinite, eternal and ever-changing universe. This essence is an acquired ability that allows man to effectively change the conditions of his physical, mental and social existence based on the positive knowledge of the world and of himself (as a social being); in such a way as to progressively reduce the contradiction between subjective man and objective Nature, between humanity and the world, but never completely eliminating it.

The development of the dexterity and the manipulating skills of the hand necessitated the revolutionary development of the brain and with it speech. The developed brain gave man enhanced ability for abstraction, reflection, introspection and communication etc. that in a reciprocal way led to the further development of the brain and also gave the hand “the high degree of perfection required to conjure into being the pictures of a Raphael, the statues of a Thorwaldsen, the music of a Paganini”*.
But this journey towards freedom so far was not a smooth one-way process only, without any loss! On the contrary there were dialectical and historical twists and turns, ups and downs and the loss of many important specific traits (that are necessary for sustaining lower life forms); on the way to the evolution of man. Moreover new and evolving constrains on knowledge and developments imposed both by Nature and by man himself stood in his way towards freedom. The more damaging were the self-made constrains known as the alienations. The alienations are creations of man for his own need of the time, but those creations at a certain stage of their development goes out of his control as if an entity coming from outside and like a Frankenstein Monster sets itself to control its creator. Historically; Myths, Religion, Class Division, Capital, State etc., were the most potent alienations that impeded the progress towards knowledge and freedom. I designed microstrip array antenna at 110GHz at CST MWS with taylor amplitude distribution and I get the wanted taylor amplidute coefficients with help of Matlab software to SLL=-30 dB.
With these coefficients I get at my antenna that the SLL is (-12.5)dB
I want with help of the optimizer function at CST to reduce the SLL to (-17)dB at least.

At our (University of Excellence - HEX) last two events, we asked attendees from the industry and trade sectors what they consider important for company attractiveness. Surprisingly, Strategy/Vision/Values, Leadership & Management, and Innovation were the top priorities. However, sustainability seemed to play a minor role. But is that really the case?
Do you recall the feedback from our survey participants on sustainability? The top concepts are based on UN Sustainability Criteria, including Partnership to Achieve Goals, Responsible Consumption, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. Yet, other criteria showed low significance.
Primary expectations for sustainability mainly focus on sustainable management for environmental protection, climate goals, and positive company development. The maturity level according to UN criteria is rated high/very high by 37%, but there's significant room for improvement.
Internal/external customer orientation reveals that 62% view fairness and justice through sustainable management as part of the corporate culture. Additionally, 62% involve young employees in sustainability matters.
Expectations for sustainable management: 62% anticipate positive results, while 26% are skeptical. In 41% of companies, there's still significant room for improvement.
Overall picture and recommendations: Companies should invest more in expanding sustainable management practices, not only for ethical reasons but also because it can lead to competitive advantages and better financing conditions. Integrating sustainability into the overall strategy and actively involving young employees are key factors for the long-term success of sustainable business practices.

Hi~
I am working on solving optimal control problems through homotopy (continuation) method and indirect shooting method. Firstly, for an optimal control problem with a homotopy parameter \sigma = 1, I've mangaed to obtain the exact costate variables for all the local optimal solutions. My goal is to obtain all the local optimal solutions for the problem with \sigma = 0. Theoretically, this can be acheived by using the exact costate variables for \sigma = 1 as the initial guess for the shooting method. Then, changing the homotopy parameter \sigma gradually from 1 to 0 could result in solutions for a series of optimal control problems. However, I fail to find the solution for \sigma = 0.99999 when I use the costate variables for \sigma = 1 as the initial guess. FIY, the fsolve function in Matlab is used as the solver for the shooting function. Does anyone have the same issue? Thanks a lot!

I was working especially in Construction field that involve residential projects ,and I become student because I lost the job,now the reason to message you Purushotham but also for all readers why we need to understand the Scientific Management to developing perfect skills and F.W.Taylor (1856-1915) focus on maximum prosperity that Management and workers work together towards this common aim was self evident but there were conflicts ,strikes and strikes, why ?
Taylor felt to share three main reasons that the workers feared that more output meant fewer jobs, poor quality tawdry Management resulted in workers going slow to protect themselves and worst of all ,inefficient ways of performing their allocated tasks.
My main reason before our communication is to identify us as a trust person with new skills to understand each of us .
The Project Manager I was working till this January 2024 told me to go home when I said my father dies as well and my mum suffer from osteoporosis and heart illness, was asking me to go home when I said that.
Why Management leaders cannot perform the best quality of leadership since they should guide us ? Workers like you all were casual and lackadaisical in meeting their work commitment.
I believe from all my heart through my own experience Management leaders had not studied workers methods of working to find better ways of doing jobs but had left the workers to do their jobs as best they could-with disastrous results .
That remind me clearly about Taylor when he said if there is conflicts condemned them and said that the only reason they occurred was because of unscientific Management and give us several example where he believe those fail related to .
I said to myself what type of person I can be after 4 years graduation with GBS? What type of vision and academic skills I will use on integrity basis to be proud in relation with others ? I will be better person as a best support for others to provide adequately trained to immigrants, poor people in order that in the future to do their job properly?
Can I take advantage as a Project Manager to abuse others ? Can I provide different positive outcomes to others I work that not to do against others what others did to me in the past ?
How relevant is to prove our relationship as a human kind before I answer you all,students and people paths definitely will change people concept and life education, share and talk,be kind and answer to others in the way those exchanged life experiences would help us by become better people.

My working problematic is that the integration of additional geometric details, refined mesh in appropriate areas, and expanded Ansys modelling properties may enhance precision.
The study's goal is to determine whether creating a basic global geometry with suitable boundary conditions and then shearing the findings (total displacement) to a more detailed submodel allows for the generation of accurate results from a different boundaryconditions situation?

I am to work on a computer vision project where the goal is to count the number of totes in a pile of totes (image shown is an example of what the model might see). Was wondering what the best strategy would be to model this. For example:
