I am currently exploring how the objectives of Islamic law (Maqasid al-Shariah) are applied and interpreted in contemporary Islamic scholarship. I am particularly interested in how these principles are used to address modern socio-political and ethical issues.
If you have any recommendations for academic sources, case studies, or publications that deal with the practical application of Maqasid in modern contexts, I would be grateful. I also welcome insights from researchers who are working on similar topics.
Looking forward to your suggestions and contributions.

Does this journal get accepted while applying for scholarship abroad
Relevant answer
Answer
I am afraid it is not a good journal. The journal “European Journal of science, Innovation & Technology” shows features of a predatory journal. The red flags are:
-Their indexing info https://www.ejsit-journal.com/index.php/ejsit/indexing is full of so-called misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) such as Cosmos, DRJI and I2OR. They are often used by predatory journals/publisher
-No real contact (physical address) info https://www.ejsit-journal.com/index.php/ejsit/about/contact
-Their editorial boar/team https://www.ejsit-journal.com/index.php/ejsit/about/editorialTeam does not correspond with their claim to be an European journal
-Their claim to be indexed in Google scholar is false (only those papers that are uploaded here on RG appear in GS)
-They exist already since 2021 and not a single serious indexing (like Scopus, Clarivate’s indices etc.). Articles have no DOI assigned, are not indexed in Google Scholar, etc.
Personally, I would avoid this one.
Best regards.

Universities on this world have different seniority, infrastructures, expert professionals, quality of education, reputation and varying degrees of strictness towards provision of grades. Do you think students graduated from newly established universities with poor resources who score high grades are given priority as compared to students who have lower grades that are from senior universities that provide complete service and higher quality education? In short, is CGPA a surrogate indicator and decisive in determining admission and scholarship provision without looking at the reputability of the institutions?
It is obvious that getting grades is easier from newly established universities as compared to senior ones. Furthermore, it inevitable that the emerging universities may not settle resources and may teach students with few easy equipments they have hand and evaluate students based on this few topics providing grades above the students ability. Yet, reputable and senior universities are highly strict on grades as they also prepare critical thinking appealing questions.
Your views are well come!
Relevant answer
Answer
Probably not, but then what is the alternative? Institutions have to have guidelines to go by in making the decisions. If they did not it would be blatant favoritism. They do look at other things on applications. In my case I had a 2.6/4.0 average and still got into graduate school, based on my senior research. My senior research mentor read the committee the results of one experiment that I did as a senior, and asked the committee 'who in this room could have done this experiment?' On the basis of that, they let me in. So looking at grade averages can mislead. My grades in graduate school were 3.98/4.0.
My point is that they try to be fair, but one has to have guidelines to make most decisions routine as they are considering multiple candidates and grade averages are a convenient long term summary of the student's achievements and in general, an indication of how they will do. Will good people fall through the cracks? Sure. But can you define a better method for filtering able students?
As a sidelight, the reason I had a 2.6 average was that my 2nd year advisor told me all the wrong courses to take. I wound up taking ALL of my advanced chemistry courses in Junior year. Cs and Bs but I got through it. Organic, Analytical, P-chem, Inorganic, and Instrumental Analysis all at the same time. So you are right. Grades don't always reflect ability, but they may be the best they have. It would be even more unfair to try to adjust grade average by institution quality, as education depends on the quality of instructors, not the reputation of the institution.

Answer
If you are looking for a postdoctoral opportunity in fields such as education, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and similar areas, it is important to clearly define your goals and areas of interest, as you have already done. While your interests are very broad, it would be useful to focus on specific topics that are most relevant in the current research environment. Here are some guidelines that might help:
  1. Specify the research area: Since your interests are quite diverse, you can focus on one or two specific aspects, such as employability skills related to ICT or the application of artificial intelligence in education. This will help you be more competitive in the postdoctoral application process.
  2. Develop an interdisciplinary approach: Many of your areas of interest (such as education, gender equality, climate change, industrial revolution) require an interdisciplinary approach. Consider how these areas can be connected in your research, for example, by exploring how educational technologies can contribute to achieving sustainable development goals or reducing gender gaps in education.
  3. Highlight social impact: Given your dedication to sustainability and social change, emphasize how your research can contribute to societal, economic, or environmental benefits. Connecting your research to real-world issues can increase its relevance and attract potential funders or research institutions.
  4. Active collaboration and networking: Getting involved in international research networks and collaborating with institutions that focus on your areas of interest can open up new opportunities for postdoctoral research. Keep track of relevant conferences, seminars, and academic networks.
  5. Choosing a mentor and institution: It is always important to choose a mentor who has experience in your areas of interest and is willing to support you in further developing your research. Additionally, select an institution that has the resources and research tradition that aligns with your goals.
  6. Preparing the application: When applying for postdoctoral positions, make sure your CV clearly highlights your research, publications, and achievements, as well as how your research aligns with the mission and goals of the institution you are applying to.
Good luck with your further research journey!

I am trying to gather more sources to learn about Tolkien's religious influences in his writings. I have read some of the scholarship by Verlyn Flieger and I have been recommended Joseph Pearce -- whose extreme political views, nonetheless, left me a bit speechless and not so convinced about reading him.
I am especially interested in people who have explored Tolkien's influence from Catholicism, rather than Christianity in general.

Does the generation gap between faculty and students at university affect the teaching-learning process? Are well-experienced and resourceful teachers who were once admired for their scholarship least preferred by Z students? Does the generation gap call for an urgent need for instruction accommodation?
Relevant answer
Answer
I visualise a very clear intent of ensuring more vibrant and more productive academic environment in the University system.I don't consider bulk of Z students entering into tertiary level a concern for educationists as they are more comfortable in ICT-enabled digitalised way of interactive learning.Yes, generation gap between student and teacher could be a big threat and might jeopardize teaching-learning process. For doing away with such nuisance, all stakeholders have to take collective effort.Management has its role to maintain green and clean campus with aura of learning with discipline and arrange perks and amenities for the students, teachers and administrative staff as well. But the greatest responsibility lies with the teachers. They need to take every effort for their personal academic advancement although tenure of their service and continually develop art and acumen to teach their students with passion and innovation.Conclusively I may say that apprehensions of the perpreter of this discussion is not unfounded but it is always in the hands of senior faculty with vast experience of teaching and research to favourably change the direction of the wind.
l never see a glass half-empty rather see it half-filled.Optimisim and positivity can bail out us of any sort of crisis may it be in academic arena or elsewhere.

I am looking for Rousseau's usage of communauté and société in his 2nd Discourse, A Discourse upon the Origin and Foundation of Inequality. I need to know how many times Rousseau uses the terms communauté and société and how they are being used. Has anyone published any scholarship on this? Has anyone produced a Concordance for the 2nd Discourse?
My take is that Rousseau, like Hobbes and Locke, tends to use community and society synonymously--as if they were exchangeable/interchangeable concepts.
Relevant answer
Answer
You can search in this work of Rousseau on Wikisource. I did a quick search on communauté and société and found only one occurrence of communauté and a lot of occurrences of société. Your "take that Rousseau, like Hobbes and Locke, tends to use community and society synonymously" seemed to me to be correct. However, you will have to do a more careful search.

Since I started my PhD in 2019, this question has been a recurring challenge for me. Now, as a PhD graduate (2023) with a Master’s degree, I am highly motivated, hardworking, and committed to advancing my academic career. I have good language skills, have published several papers in multidisciplinary fields, and am still engaged in various research activities. I have been actively pursuing postdoctoral and research fellowship opportunities, applying to over 100 calls.
A significant hurdle I face is the requirement of securing a host supervisor or institution to apply for these fellowships. To fulfill this, I have sent hundreds of polite emails to professors worldwide, carefully tailoring each one to align with their research interests and including all necessary documents such as my CV, motivation letter, and a proposal synopsis. However, despite my efforts, I have received very few responses.
Before reaching out, I thoroughly review potential supervisors’ publications and research profiles to ensure alignment with their work. I remain persistent, applying and networking without frustration or hesitation. I also recognize that this challenge may not be unique to me but rather a common struggle for many early-career researchers.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights from this community regarding strategies to overcome this barrier.
How can I improve my approach or increase my chances of securing a host? Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
Relevant answer
Answer
Different institutions have varying requirements and expectations for postdoctoral fellowship, in that case i will suggest you send a cold emails to the institution and find out their requirements.

At what point will you advise for, or will you consider another master's or PhD in your career projection or expansion as an academic?

Answer
Dear Apata Stella Bollanle,
Thank you for having raised this question.
It is your option that you can pursue a second PhD if you don't get PostDoc Admissions.
Considering your First Phd, you can do deep research on the same areas or different disciplines of a second Phd is advisable in general.
Faculties and Professors who have had many PhD to honorary doctorates due to their vertical establishments of the research in their fields.
A second PhD in the same field is possible.
If you have many Scopus Indexed Articles in a particular field of study, you can get PostDoc Admissions because PostDoc Admission will consider the researcher's interest in the particular area of interest.
How much will your name be online, or how many citations on your research study will reflect your metrics on citations?
Due to the world economic crisis, organizations have mostly shrunk their scholarships and Funding, so getting scholarships on Post Doc is very difficult nowadays.

Hi,
I want to know whether a research scholar receiving a Junior Research Fellowship under some scheme (ex. MANF, NFOBC, NFSC, etc.) from the University Grants Commission, Govt. of India., needs to acknowledge in the research article. The scholar is not working on any project that is being funded by the UGC, but only receiving fellowship for doing his PhD.
However, it is mandatory for CSIR-JRF candidates to acknowledge the financial support as mentioned clearly in the guidelines.

I am in Language education . Please how do I locate a Professor in Germany for my postdoctoral fellowship?
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Apata,
There are two ways of getting a supervisor for a postdoctoral in Germany:
1) This requires a bit of research: Check out the departments of the universities you are interested in online. Every university employee has her/his own site within the university website that gives her/his CV, details her/his expertise and states the current project they are involved in. This is time consuming, but you can 'target' the people whose research is most relevant for your work. Don't be afraid to write to the professor directly. German legislation requires them to answer every request. For example, at my university: https://www.hul.uni-hamburg.de/ueber-uns/personen/profs/kerstin-mayrberger.html. This might be interesting for you too: https://www.ifkw.uni-muenchen.de/aktuelles/institutsnews/wendt_begruessen/index.html
2) The second option for a postdoctoral in Germany - and this is the more promising way - is to apply for a position in a program. Since most of these projects are funded with tax payers' money, they have to be advertised publicly. You can find these ads on the respective websites of the universities offering them, under "Stellen" or "Stellenmarkt" (that is vacancies). Or, you can browse various meta-portals that collect these ads and make them accessible to a wider audience. Some of them are:
Do search for the "Stichwort" (or cue): "Postdoc" - You can see that I have done so on some sites already. Ar sure way to know whether the working language of the program is English or German is to look at the language the program is being advertised in.
Word of the wise: Be aware that the application process takes a lot of time in Germany. From application to you first day at work, should you be selected, 6 months or more can pass. Also, there are "advertising cycles", most positions are being advertised in Spring, with programs starting in Autumn. But there are exceptions, so it does make sense to stay on the lookout throughout the year.
I hope that helps!
Kinf regards,
Helen

Question
1 answer
The word knowledge is defined first as the “acquaintance with facts, truths or principles, as from study or investigation; general scholarship.” We must equate knowledge with firmly held true belief. Asking just how firm that belief must be is akin to asking just how big something has to be to count as being big. There is no answer to the question because ‘big’ lacks the sort of boundary enjoyed by precise words. To that extent, ‘know’ is vague. If knowledge entails certainty, then too little will count as known.
For scientific purposes, the best we can do is to give up the notion of knowledge and make do rather with its separate ingredients. We can still speak of a belief as true, and of one belief as firmer or more certain, to the believer’s mind, than another.
Analytics provide assertion for the beliefs expressed by the analysts. Analysts have trouble telling us, ‘there is no knowledge.’ Beliefs asserted by the big-data analysts are taken as sufficient for the analysed states of buying, consuming, or behaving. However, assertion does indeed require the analysts to attribute knowledge to themselves.
Relevant answer
Answer
There is no clear consensus on whether big data analysts have skills in creating newer beliefs or asserting beliefs for analyzed states . However, it can be said that analysts play a role in providing assertions for the beliefs expressed by them based on the analysis of big data.
In the context of big data analytics, analysts use data to draw insights and make predictions or conclusions about various phenomena such as consumer behavior or market trends. These insights are often presented as assertions or claims based on the analysis conducted.
While big data analysts may not necessarily create entirely new beliefs, they can contribute to shaping or reinforcing existing beliefs through their analysis and interpretation of data. By providing evidence and insights derived from data analysis, they can influence the beliefs of others or themselves.
It is important to note that the beliefs asserted by big data analysts should be evaluated critically and considered in the broader context of the data and the specific analysis conducted. The interpretation and presentation of data can vary, and it is essential to assess the reliability and validity of the analysis and the underlying data sources.
Overall, while big data analysts may not directly create new beliefs, their work can contribute to the formation or reinforcement of beliefs through the assertions they make based on data analysis.

Hello to all my fellow Biologists.
I have resorted to posting this question as my last desperate attempt to find a place for myself in the world of biotechnology.
I am a first class student with relatively good grades (GPA 3.77/4.00) in BSc. of Biotechnology (Hons), excellent extra-curriculars and competitions under my belt, 6 months of work as a Field/Research Assistant and 4 years of previous work experience in events management. I have experience in the microbiology, molecular biology, antivirals, nutraceuticals and cell culture disciplines. I have also taken a great liking to scientific communication and create visual content to make biology simpler for the Layman, both bother and in my own time.
Despite all this, I haven't had a single postgraduate application succeed for the last 2 years. And though I do understand there is high competition for available spots, I also wonder what I may be lacking despite some telling me I have an "impressive CV" and can do a direct PhD.
It is unfortunate however that my family is not doing financially well, therefore I can only afford opportunities with a scholarship or that are work/salary-based. Perhaps this narrows available opportunities but regardless, studentship scholarships have very evidently not opted for me, simply because "there were too many applicants this time around". Perhaps lacking funds is not enough of a criteria? (Hint of sarcasm).
Additionally, I was born and raised in the UAE (I do not get citizenship), therefore I am also looking for a potential country to eventually settle down in while doing the work I love.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone would know of opportunities I may be able to apply for like fully funded PhDs, or skilled/summer programs and workshops/internships, or even Research or Lab assistant positions you or someone you know may be looking for, because unfortunately, I'm 2 rejections away from being completely out of options.
I would greatly appreciate any input you may have or can share with me! I have also added my CV for your reference.
I don't want my impression of the field I love to be tainted with nothing but rejections, and to settle for a job outside our field simply because I had no other choice.
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Sincerely,
Zahraa Ozeer

  2. Why do you deserve this scholarship? Interviewers want to know why you believe you are the right candidate for the scholarship. Highlight your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and any unique qualities or experiences that make you stand out.
  3. What are your academic and career goals? Scholarship providers are interested in understanding your long-term aspirations and how the scholarship will help you achieve them.
  4. How do you plan to contribute to your community or society after completing your studies? This question gauges your commitment to making a positive impact in your community or society at large.
  5. Describe a challenge or obstacle you've overcome: This question allows you to demonstrate resilience, problem-solving skills, and determination.
  6. How will this scholarship support your education? Be prepared to explain how the scholarship funds will be used to advance your educational and career objectives.
  7. What extracurricular activities are you involved in? Discuss your involvement in clubs, sports, volunteering, or other activities that showcase your leadership, teamwork, and time management skills.
  8. How do you handle academic pressure and time management? The interviewers want to see how well you can cope with the demands of your studies and other commitments.
  9. Discuss a book, article, or project that has influenced you: This question assesses your intellectual curiosity and capacity for critical thinking.
  10. How do you plan to give back to the scholarship program or the organization providing the scholarship? Interviewers may want to know if you plan to contribute in any way after benefiting from the scholarship.

How does one succeed in balancing leadership, scholarship, career, family, and faith simultaneously? Oftentimes, individuals excel academically or professionally but face challenges when it comes to their family life or combining their faith with their career. How can these obstacles be overcome?"
This is a common concern for many individuals striving to maintain a harmonious equilibrium among these important aspects of life. While it may seem daunting, achieving success and fulfillment in each area is indeed possible with the right approach and mindset.
Relevant answer
Answer
One approach to balancing leadership, scholarship, career, family, and faith simultaneously is to prioritize and plan accordingly. This involves setting clear goals and boundaries for each area and making sure that they align with your overall values and priorities. It also involves being flexible and adaptable, as unexpected events and challenges may arise.
Another important aspect is effective time management and delegation. This means identifying and focusing on your most important tasks and responsibilities, and delegating less crucial ones to others when possible. It also means being mindful of time-wasters and distractions, and making sure to allocate enough time for self-care and rest.
It is also important to seek support and guidance from others, whether it be from family, friends, mentors, or colleagues. This can involve openly communicating your needs and concerns, and being willing to ask for help and advice when needed.
Ultimately, success in balancing leadership, scholarship, career, family, and faith simultaneously requires a combination of dedication, discipline, and self-awareness. By staying focused, prioritized, and motivated, one can overcome the obstacles and achieve fulfillment in all areas of life.

What is the difference between these three types of letters: 1) Motivation Letter. 2) Statement of Purpose. 3) Personal Statement, and which of them is required for M.Sc or PHD scholarships?
Relevant answer
Answer
Motivation letter, statement of purpose, and personal statement are three types of letters that are commonly required as part of a graduate school application process. While they are all similar in nature and often used interchangeably, there are subtle differences between them.
A motivation letter is typically a brief document that explains why you are interested in pursuing a particular program of study or scholarship. It should highlight your academic achievements, career goals, and how the program or scholarship will help you achieve those goals. A motivation letter is generally more informal and personal than a statement of purpose.
A statement of purpose is a more detailed document that outlines your academic and professional background, research interests, and career goals. It should explain why you are interested in pursuing graduate study and how the program aligns with your interests and aspirations. A statement of purpose is typically more formal and academic in tone than a motivation letter.
A personal statement is a narrative essay that tells a story about who you are, what motivates you, and what you have accomplished. It should highlight your personal qualities, life experiences, and how they have influenced your academic and career goals. A personal statement is generally more creative and reflective in nature than a statement of purpose or motivation letter.
As for which of these letters is required for M.Sc or PhD scholarships, it depends on the institution and program you are applying to. Some programs may require only a statement of purpose, while others may require a combination of a statement of purpose and a personal statement. It is important to carefully read the application requirements for each program to determine which type of letter is required, and to tailor your letter accordingly to ensure the best chance of success.

KEDGE Business School welcomes applications from visiting scholars and PhDs in its fields of research excellence signalled by respective Centres, which can be seen by visiting its website https://kedge.edu/ under the research tab. However, none of them are purely technological as KEDGE is a Business School. Each Centre has multiple Labs and at least a dozen research active faculty members and PhDs associated with it. Once you identify a Centre that you think may be interested in your research and vice versa, email the few members of staff that you would like to work with directly. Assuming both sides are happy to proceed, the staff member involved will champion your case with their Centre’s Director who will then initiate and support your formal application process.

As a current medical student and a future MD what are the skills that I should start learning to become an asset at any Post-doctoral Fellowship Program?
(Especially for neurosurgery research fellowships.)
Relevant answer
Answer
As a principle investigator, some of the key skills I would look for when hiring a post-doctoral fellow are:
  1. Strong research skills - The ability to design, execute and analyze experiments, interpret results, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication - A post-doctoral fellow needs to be able to clearly present results to both the scientific community and the public.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team - The fellow will likely be working on multiple projects simultaneously, and must be able to work well with others, including students and other staff members.
  4. Problem-solving skills - A post-doctoral fellow must be able to think critically and creatively when faced with unexpected challenges or results.
  5. Knowledge in the field - A strong understanding of the area of research is crucial, and the fellow should have a solid background in neuroscience and experience with neurosurgery research.
As a medical student interested in becoming an asset to a post-doctoral fellowship program in neurosurgery research, here are some skills you should start learning:
  1. Scientific writing and presentation skills - Practice writing scientific papers, reports, and presentations.
  2. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Engage in critical thinking exercises and work on complex problem-solving tasks to develop your skills.
  3. Research experience - Participate in research projects, attend conferences, and present your findings to your peers and mentors.
  4. Time management and organization skills - Post-doctoral fellows are typically responsible for multiple projects at once, so you will need to be able to prioritize your tasks and manage your time effectively.
  5. Communication and collaboration skills - Practice working in teams and engaging in effective communication with others, including researchers, clinicians, and patients.

Government-sponsored Ph.D. awards that come from the applicant's home country should be discontinued! It breaks my heart to see people receiving this scholarship despite the fact that they are not qualified, however just because they were recommended by their home countries. Unfortunately, after beginning their Ph.D. with the help of this scholarship, they do nothing except spend their stipend on activities other than research. In the end, they are having a Dr. title without any qualification in research. That's quite terrible and is damaging academia on a daily basis. This is also unjust to other candidates who possess the necessary qualifications and the desire to begin a Ph.D. degree. It is time to tighten up the selection process for Ph.D., and candidates should be picked by a committee made up of members of the host nation in a fair and open manner.

Dear Prof. Mahmoud H. A. Saleh & all the honorable researchers,
Preprints are defined as an author’s version of a research manuscript prior to formal peer review at a journal, which is deposited on a public server. ResearchGate (RG) said about "Preprints": "early-stage research" and "Draft paper before peer review".
On the other side, RG is not a publisher and, in turn, uploaded unpublished text is not regarded as a publication. Hence, a preprint is an author's own original or draft version of their paper before any peer review has taken place and before it is published. As soon as it's posted, a preprint becomes a permanent part of the scientific record and, in turn, it can be citable with its own unique DOI.
Now, before answering this valuable question, please let me give my own opinion about the preprint dilemma (مُعضلة ما قبل الطباعة):
I have a different perspective on uploading any preprint anywhere before it has been published. Why do you let others know about your insights and methodologies before publication? You should avoid telling the other researchers about the details of any one of your papers until it has been published and seeing your name by yourself. You may say that I am somewhat old-fashioned, but I have a different perspective on uploading any preprint anywhere before it has been published by your name. My advice is not to put your research anywhere until it is published. It is a security issue:
  • Your manuscript may be copied and then published by others before you can do that. This stealing of your paper might be happening. So, you must wait until the paper is accepted and then published in that journal. Then, upload that research item on any platform you wish.
  • You should avoid telling the other researchers about the details of any one of your papers until it has been published and you are seeing your name by yourself.
  • A journal may have automated plagiarism software to check the paper before admitting it to the reviewing process. There are chances that your paper can get a rejection at any point. Thus, to avoid this problem. Publish the preprint after you got the paper as "ACCEPTED".
  • There may be a "cold war" between the professors of a given department. They do not like to discuss ideas as others will "steal" them and publish an article on them without giving credit to the one from whom they got the idea. My suggestion is to keep your work "private" and share it only with those who are really interested.
  • Academic publishing remains a competitive process. If someone else has recently published a paper very similar to mine, mine is less likely to be accepted. So although I may share my topic, I prefer to keep my methodology, findings, and discussion private, until published in a peer-reviewed journal. So, there is a high chance that someone may claim your idea as theirs!
  • Preprint gives a false feeling of security. Personally, I would always wait until the paper is accepted by the editor of a journal. After that, I can post it as a regular research item on any platform you wish.
  • A reminder for all respected researchers: Don't put any research, including preprint, anywhere until you are certain that it is published and tagged with your name. The information presented in the preprint is potentially available to be stolen and republished. There is also a chance that someone may plagiarize your paper!
Finally, for the coming future, do not upload any paper anywhere until it is published with your name. Even if it is a "preprint"! For the time being, If you had done something like that as a "preprint", for instance, I advise you to delete the preprint from any elsewhere and wait for two months before sending the paper to any journal.

Revered Dr.Manoj Kumar,
First of all, one who is looking for Postdoctoral research studies have to have many publications on your area of interest in the particular field of study in Scopus Indexed Journals more than ten articles at least because it shows that you are outstanding scholar of the field.
You have to be popular in the field that you can apply if any Postdoctoral advertisement from abroad universities but you have to submit or upload all of your research publications in the link.
You will be called for online interview for many sequence of enquiring about the topic of interest in your field of research study.
It's only the matter for exposing your field of knowledge and publications. There are many European Universities are advertising the IT, ICT, IoT, areas.
Moreover, it is not easy but you have to build up your research exposures through Scopus Indexed Journals publications.
As a Postdoctoral applicant that you are almost scientist in your field and you have to be extraordinary in the publications because it means that you are going to conduct the very indepth research in your field to bring out the new research invention in the field of your research study.
Publications matters to get Post-Doc positions. Best of luck.

Actually when the research allocated years have ended up that you can extend for further one year in order to complete the research or to submit Thesis.
This is possible either to continue or to join your parent institution that you can complete the doctorate in the house or your institution.
The valid letters are the authentication to do further steps to continue the PhD in the University or in your college campus.
Mostly, the researchers are looking for peaceful situation and conducive environment where the research or Thesis could be submitted in time because the college may not be supportive for the final research process. This is general thought among the researchers because IITs campus implies always research enhancing environment that was why mist of the researchers have preferred the higher level institution for doctoral research.

Dear Sajiya,
thank you for your posting. I will try to give a quick answer on both questions.
1. Where to get a grant.
A) You can look up the DAAD portal (DAAD = German Academic Exchange Programme). In the Scholarship database you will find the most important institutional grants (including Humboldt etc):
B) You check homepages of colleagues if they have open positions. Or you send emails to them asking if they have open positions.
2. How to find suitable places/colleagues for a post-doc?
This depends on what you want to do during your post-doc.
A) You want to continue research on the topic of your PhD. Then it's simple. You know the experts in the field, you check where they are located and you write them an email.
Concerning research especially in Germany, there is an expert on any topic in Germany.
B) You want to switch from your PhD research to something different and you have a specific idea about the topic.
Then you have to find the experts in this new field and write them an email. ...
You can recognise experts in the field from reviews in important journals, from books and book chapters.
C) You want to switch from your PhD reseach to something different but you are not decided what.
No problem, start making up your mind in which direction you want to work: organic, inorganic, bio, materials, analytics, .... whatever. Then check for the hot topics. They will probably lie in the fields of "energy conversion" or "medical chemistry". Having decided what to do, it is like B).
D) You don't care about the topic of your post-doctoral work. You just want to do research in Germany (US, UK, France). Don't get me wrong, but that is a weak starting point for a post-doc application. I am getting such unselective applications very often and I always reject them. The reason is simple. You are a well-educated scientists and you have specialised skills. If you are trying to enter a completely new field, you have no skills at all and why should somebody hire you as post-doc, if he/she can have somebody with broad skills in this topic.
A very last, but important point:
Approaching my colleagues is not always easy. Sending email frequently does not help - they simply do not respond. What can you do:
1. If you tried for a specific colleague and he/she did not answer, modify your application (may it was not good enough), write in more detail why you selected him/her and try again.
2. Try others. My experience is that many of my colleagues do NEVER answer.
3. Maybe you add a sentence to your email like this: If you do not have open positions for post-docs at the moment, or my portfolio is not perfectly meeting your expectations, I would be happy to receive suggestions for other colleagues in the field.
Best wishes

Well, thank you for your important question and forink the different responses. I think that adding a coauthor implies that s/he has contributed in a way or another to data-collection, data-analysis, or the improvement of the quality of the paper. However, some researchers write their papers individually, and agree that they add each other's names in order to increase their publication record and score. It is important to note here that this kind of research behaviour may differ from one culture to another depending on ethical issues, convictions, conflict of interest, trust, etc.

'An initial review of "name of article" has made it clear that this submission does not fit within the scope and focus of Secularism and Nonreligion as it stands. We would be delighted to consider a reworked version of the article if you can  more clearly position it within the interdisciplinary scope of the journal by engaging clearly with scholarship in the history, sociology and/or anthropology of secularism. A concerted reading of some of our back issues should provide a solid grounding. Also, making the broader implications of the article beyond the Kazakh context would strengthen things. Alternatively, you might also consider submitting this manuscript to another journal. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, as I say, if you do rework things as suggested we would happily consider putting this through the review process.' This is decision of the journall editor. What is mean?
Relevant answer
Answer
It means that your article does not seem to fall within the scope (purpose) of the journal. The editors are willing to consider a resubmission if you rework the manuscript to be more in line with their scope. They suggest that you read older issues to get a better feel for the scope.
In saying that their scope is interdisciplinary, they mean that manuscripts need to address their topics from the perspective of more than one discipline.

Very interesting to follow this.
Note that even within Europe, there are different 'formats' for doing a PhD. In some cases, it is almost like a taught degree and you have to pay tuition fees (and hence, might need a scholarship to fund it). In other cases, as in NL, the PhD is a job and you would get a full salary (not a lot necessarily, but livable).
In NL, a one-year master counts as sufficient to start a PhD, but within the first year you might need to make up for the lack of research courses (or in a pre-PhD position sometimes offered). The quality of the degree is important though.
PhD positions are quite competitive. Dutch positions are always announced on 'academictransfer.nl'. Note that these are the salaried positions and that most Dutch universities therefore do not have a fixed 'PhD program'. You will learn the job on the spot, taking some courses and being embedded as employee in a research environment, supervised by two (or more) expeirences researchers.
As for the topic: follow what you care about. Doing the PhD will take a long time and you will likely spend the rest of your lifetime on similar topics, so you have to make sure you can stay motivated.
