Hi, I'm searching for studies on the diet of the mayfly Ephemera vulgata (Linnaeus 1758)? From a European database (freshwaterecology.info), its feeding type preferences is given as 20% gatherer (FPOM sediment) and 80% active filter feeder (FPOM, CPOM and micro prey from the water column). The reference for this information is given as the AQEM expert consortium. I would be really interested to see the original study providing this information, or any other studies that explores food item preferences (e.g. gut content) of E. vulgata. If you know about any papers, thesis, reports etc. with such information, even anectodical, I would be grateful if you could share this information with me.

what can be added and in what concentration to make a 10% fat feed into 30-40% fat feed. I read about Kreamolene but its not available in my country. canola oil and milk powder was also suggested but I am unsure on how to add it to the existing feed which will also be palatable for the rats. The Low Temperature Water Gas Shift (LT-WGS) reaction is a reaction between carbon monoxide (CO) and water vapor (H2O) to form carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2). According to Le Chatelier's principle, the presence of CO2 in the feed gas will affect the equilibrium of the LT-WGS reaction by shifting the equilibrium to the right. This means that the reaction will favor the formation of CO2 and hydrogen, and the conversion of CO to CO2 will increase.
The reason for this shift is that the addition of CO2 increases the concentration of a product, which shifts the equilibrium to the side with fewer moles of gas. Since the reaction produces CO2, the addition of CO2 to the feed gas will increase the concentration of CO2, which will shift the equilibrium towards the side with more CO2, thus increasing the conversion of CO to CO2.
Additionally, CO2 in the feed gas would also shift the equilibrium to the right by decreasing the partial pressure of H2O which is a reactant in the reaction.
It is worth mentioning that the addition of CO2 in the feed gas can also increase the reaction rate and improve the performance of the reactor. However, adding CO2 also increases the complexity of the process and the need for more sophisticated equipment and control systems.

Hello every one am writing my Msc research proposal.
My experiment will test three feed sources (pulses) as a bee feed supplement. The trials will be set out "Completely Randomized Design. Each treatment group of bees will be provided with 150 g of the respective treatment diets. The DATA data to be collected will be amount of food consumed, sealed brood and bee bread areas and bee strength and honey yield. Data will be subjected to ANOVA using SPSS software (version 28) with proc mixed model of SAS, and Mean values will be separated using to Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) at p =0.05 (SAS Institute, 2012).
Is there anyone who advised me whether my data analysis methods are appropriate or not.

I think monopole antennas usually have narrowband resonances and the skill is in changing their shape of the shape of the feed or ground so that the resonances become more broadband or merge into each other.
The feed will usually have a defined impedance. If it is microstrip then the wider the strip, and the closer to the ground, and the higher the dielectric constant of the insulator, the lower the impedance. The antenna is matched when the line impedance is the same as the antenna impedance (they are matched). The line impedance is real. The antenna impedance will be complex (resistance and inductance or 1/capacitance) and vary with frequency. When the imaginary part is small and the real part is close to the feed impedance, the antenna is matched. The monopole shape can be changed to change the imaginary part, and matching circuits can be added to the feed or antenna to change the imaginary part to make the total imaginary part as small as possible, and the real parts as close to each other as possible over a large frequency range.

Hi
I am trying to find technique to improve isolation between ports of a multiple feed slot ring antenna.
Generally there are dual feed which are orthogonal and the port isolation between them is well below -30 dB.
I tried to make annular slot ring antenna with slant polarization and also vertical or horizontal polarization. However the non orthogonal feeds have port isolation below -10dB.
O would really apprecitate if anyone can comment on suitable technique usuagea in this scenerio to put myself in right direction.

Thanks Shrivastav a.k. for your input. i tried this before but was not sure that it can work. as I was checking the e-field distribution over the radiating ring layer getting coupled to 2nd and third feed ...There was not much coupling through the ground layer. So I was doubtful in continue to use EBG technique. But will try more in improving port isolation using EBG technique after your suggestion.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to calculate feed flow velocity or feed flow mass flow rate based on the given data, for a heterogeneous chemical reaction taken place inside a reactor. I have temperature, pressure, ratio of A/B (species)=1, GHSV (gas hour space velocity)=3000hr-1, (d) dia of pipe=4mm and (L) length of pipe is 0.5m. (Catalyst is filled in the whole pipe)
Reaction (A+B <--> C+D)
I tried to calculate based on the GHSV formula =Volumetric flow rate/ Catalyst volume or packed bed volume;
I calculated the volume by Ac*L. But the velocity, which I am getting with this formula is giving me totally different results. (Ac=pi/4 *d^2)
Can anyone correct me and help me with that?

You can use the method suggested by Silvia Di Santi. You should change the media every 24hr. If the parasitemia is high, split some and keep it below 5%, we usually keep it around 2-3% unless we want to perform any antimalarial assay. Most importantly, you should check the parasitemia level using microscopy every 2-3 days intervals at least and provide fresh RBCs while splitting. For higher parasitemia, you can use inactivated serum or plasma from AB+ donors.

I am using spwm and i am not using a low pass filter at the output, so my output consists of multiple harmonics. I am thinking of reducing the voltage to 115V rms(of the complete output not just the fundamental component) by reducing the duty cycle of the pulses. I am able to achieve voltage close to 115V rms in this way. But everyone else is suggesting to use a dc-dc converter first to reduce the input dc voltage and then feed it to the inverter. Why my solution is not good and is it compulsory to use a dc-dc converter first in this situation?

There are two main ways for reducing the output voltage of an inverter.
1- Changing in modulation index (between 0 to 1)
2- Using a step-down DC-DC converter.
The first solution, imposes maximum voltage stress on inverter switches and can not offer an isolation between input and output ports of the inverter (such as full and half bridge inverters), while, on the flip side, using  an isolated step-down DC-DC converter in conjunction with the inverter not only provides isolation capability and reduction in switch voltage stress but also can drives continous current with low curret ripple from the DC source.

If a columm is not working well, you may adjust the reflux ratio increasing it a little bit step by step until you find the expected stripping ratio, but you have to check if flooding is not occuring. Columm performance is a matter of number of plates, reflux ratio, and pressure drop

The tertiary treatment in our effluent treatment plant consist of MBBR followed by activated sludge process. The efficiency of removal is determined by reduction in COD so in our current operating conditions we are not achieving the required COD reduction i.e compared to same feed COD. So what are the possibilities of improving this treatment.
Current arrangement : Equilization - MBBR - Aeration - Clarifier.
Feed COD - 2500ppm, Treated water COD - 1400.
Design COD reduction - 80 - 90%
Design feed COD < 4000 ppn

Very simple.. your SRT is not achieved. Follow all the theoratical demands to maintain desired SRT. First you attain matured MLVSS, F/M ratio and fixed inlet flow. For first 7-8 days, start with lower inlet organic loading and then gradually increase it. This can be done with dilution of wastewater. Once SVI of 80-110 is apparent u can start initiate full feed process. But if there is a fault in your design calculation, follow different strategy.

If this is a monopole then it is quarter wave resonant. You usually see matching slots in microstrip patches, which are half-wave resonant, however slots could still be used here to change the match.
Making the monopole round increases its bandwidth compared to a thin wire monopole. Thick monopoles have a wider bandwidth than thin monopoles. The shape of the ground changes both the match and the bandwidth, usually the match determines the bandwidth so changing one changes the other.
This is not a microstrip patch with a partial ground, it is a monopole fed from microstrip, with an edge ground rather than a flat ground perpendicular to the monopole.

I need know how to assign c-p values to my nematodes:
Ferris et al., 2001:
cp-1: mainly bacteria feeding nematodes (BF)
cp-2: mainly BF + Fungal feeders (FF)
cp3: FF, BF and carnivores etc.
For instance if I have a BF nematode what would be the cp value? Is it 1 or 1+2. Or else we give cp values 2 for a nematode having feeding types of BF + FF?

Hello,
I am designing a new setup in which I will need to feed CO2 in different percentages (5-20%) to a reactor that will work at 450 °C and 60 bar. I am considering using liquid CO2 and pump it to the reactor. Does anybody have experience in doing that? Is it as simple as connecting the CO2 cylinder to a HPLC pump, or are there other critical aspects to consider, such as cavitation? Besides HPLC pumps, are there other devices/equipment that could do the task?

SITUATION:
I am trying to recreate something similar to the inverter model contained in:
There is a Droop Controller that feeds a Voltage Regulator that feeds a Current Regulator that powers a LCL filter.
MY PROBLEM:
1. When combining the Voltage and Current state models. A and C is 3x3, B and D are 2x8. I pad them out with redundant zeros to make them all 8x8, unsure if this correct? When I multiply them out as listed in the link below, I lose all the controller information from the Current Regulator, such as the integrator and proportional controller coefficients and the decoupling terms.
2. The Voltage and Current state models share the same inputs as the Droop controllers, so they are not perfectly in series. Is there a strategy to combine state space models that share inputs?

Exactly correct this answer. In general (as thumb rule) 1 lit of F/O or 1 m3 of LPG can generate 12 - 14 kg of steam. As I understood, Mr. Ahmaed question was the water requirement. In my view, it depends on the steam demand. If the boiler operates at it's maximum capacity (i.e. 20 ton/hr.) and the evaporation /leakage/blowdown losses are negligible, the water requirement is same as the boiler capacity.
