One of my friends was accused of plagiarism; do you know why?
After about three months, his research paper was rejected because of plagiarism. When he checked the journal report, he found that his paper was accused of plagiarism with a 61% percentage. The reason is that his manuscript was previously uploaded as a preprint. It took him another two months to solve the problem and remove the manuscript from the database of the preprint.
So, in order to solve this type of issue, it may take several months of following up to remove the manuscript from the database of the preprint. Anyhow, If there were accusations of plagiarism, it is not well for any researcher's reputation, in any meaning.

I'm a newb who knows (almost) nothing about stats, statistical significance, or understanding the robustness of a relationship. I'm looking for feedback on the strength of this relationship from anyone who knows more about statistics than I do (which is a low bar).
I'm getting "strong" results in the 3 types of correlation, but a "nonrobust" covariance. Interpretation?
Thanks!

Answer
Thank you, Russ Mcbride , that's nice. However, it still seems that the fit strongly over-estimates almost all values for 50 < B < 100 and it still predicts a clearly negative B value for UT (what I suppose should be impossible).
I attached a picture showing a log-log-linear model, which seems more reasonable to me. The solid line indicates the fit, the dashed lines indicate the limits of the 95% prediction interval.
But is still shows the problem with these data: the variance for B < 50 is huge, and if you only look in this range, there is no trend visisble. For B > 50, there seems to be a slight decreasing trend, but way less clear than from the whole set of data. I don't know the theory behind, but there might be a reason that values (countries?) with small B may not be simply comparable to values with larger B. The entire negative correlation you see may not reflect a direct relationship between A and B, and a different predictor (other than B) might be much better. In any case it seems that you cannot say much about how A will change if B increases "just a bit": for lower B, A will just wildly scatter between 0.05 and 0.4, and for larger B, A will scatter at a lower level between 0.02 and 0.1. To me - being completely ignorant of any possibly sensible theory behind these data - anything more than this seems to be an over-interpretation.

I would like to get an opinion from you guys on this issue. I would appreciate any feedbacks.
Recently, a narrative review paper was published (2022) on the same subject that I published (2021). When reading the paper, I found a lot of similarities. I realized that the authors cited 32 papers that I also used (they used 193 references and provided an up-to-date on the subject). So far, OK. The majority of people would say this is not a problem. My results were organized in a table after search methodology. Then, I realized that a lot of the data in the table is in their text, often verbatim, but they cited the original papers. However, when I looked at the references, I realized that chunks of their references are in the same order as in my paper. For example, one of the chucks have 7 references in the same order as in my table of results. The same happens in other parts of the paper. Their research did not use any methodology (so we don't know how they got to their results), and my table is not in alphabetical or chronological order. So, even if researchers write about the same subject and use similar papers, it is very rare to see chunks of references in the same order. I also see a lot of rephrasing of ideas from my discussion and conclusion. Due to all these, I feel like there is a strong evidence of plagiarism. It looks like they used my table of results to compose part of their paper, but did not give me credit for it, although they cited my paper for other unrelated minor details. Reading their paper carefully, I also identified several sentences which citations are wrong. For example, a big paragraph refers to an original paper as the source of info, but when you go there, that info is not from that paper. Knowing well the subject, I found several mistakes like that. There is also a lot of citations using non-peer-reviewed articles from blog/news posts. So, the authors were very careless with citations and referencing previous works. Review articles are difficult to prove plagiarism, and often people regard it as subjective and say there are no clear guidelines to identify it. Softwares don't catch everything. So, my question is: are these reasons that I explained (especially having those chunks of references in the same order) enough proof to contact the editors of their journal?
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it! :-)

I am trying to use vibrotactile feedback to convey information, using LRA-actuators on a glove that operate at a fixed frequency of 205Hz. By adjusting the amplitude I try to convey the information.
Let's assume we have a given range of amplitudes I can use (e.g. 0% to 100%). I wonder how big the steps have to be for a human to notice the difference in a decrease or increase in the perceived intensity. (e.g. if I trigger four actuators in sequence, how huge do the gaps between the amplitudes have to be set, to be perceived as a decrease or increase compared to the previously felt vibration)
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Til, I am afraid there is no answer to your question... For sure the scale will be shorter than the audio one, as our ear+brain system is extremely powerful and well trained compared to touching. You might get better results with a log scale of vibration thresholds as human perception is not linear, but the key issue will be training: untrained people might only detect few thresholds while training could result maybe into a ten level scale - just try! And you don't explain why you choose 205Hz, which is clearly a very high frequency for the muscle-skeleton system (the sensitivity might be elevated if the frequency activates a resonance of the hand/finger structure, which is in the tens of Hertz, not hundreds)
We are probably more sensitive to pressure: would you solve your actuation challenge by a sequence of pressure pulses at few Hz exerted by an inflatable glove cell driven by a servo-valve? You can play both with pressure and pulse length/ rate to build a collection of signals conveying the information to the holder...
Good luck, my only advice is to multiply trials as you try to address an uncharted domain of biodynamics...

Answer
Today, manpower is the most important productive factor. In the past, it was believed that capital and material resources determine the process of economic and social development of the country, but in today's world, efficient human resources have a major impact on this. Efficient human resources increase capital, exploit various resources of society and increase production and production; In other words, efficient human resources ensure the advancement of society towards national development. A country that fails to develop the skills and knowledge of its people and use it effectively in the national economy will not be able to develop anything else.
Supervisors of different units of the organization are the main responsible for improving the position of the organization, one of the main ways to increase the level of knowledge of employees. Supervisors believe that in-service training courses can develop appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitudes in employees.
- What is education?
In recent years, science and technology have made significant progress compared to the past. This transformation is such that the present age has been called the half-life age of information; That is, a period in which every five years, half of human information becomes obsolete and is replaced by new information and knowledge. This shows that all people in an organization are responsible for improving their knowledge and on the other hand, the managers of the organization are also obliged to move the members of the organization towards up-to-date knowledge, therefore in recent years Has a special enjoyment.
Comparing the current occupations of the community with the occupations of about fifty years ago, it is found that the occupations have almost doubled, which shows the role of scientific advances in the diversity of occupations. In today's world, the chances of a person learning a skill and continuing it for about thirty years without fundamental change are slim or impossible. Today, society is changing rapidly and staff training is no longer just desirable, but this utility has become a compulsion. In today's world, various organizational resources must be mobilized to train staff so that the organization can continue on its way.
Training is always considered as a reliable tool to improve the quality of performance and solve management problems, and its lack is one of the basic and acute problems of any organization; For this reason, in order to equip the organization's human resources and make effective use of this power, training is one of the most important and effective measures.
Training is a fundamental task in the organization and a continuous process. Education should not be taken for granted. Employees at any level of the organization, even at the level of a minor manpower, need training and acquisition of new knowledge and skills to be able to move towards the goals of the organization .
Employee training programs in an organization can also meet the need for specialized human resources in the future, these training programs can be a guarantee to solve staff problems.
If the employees of the organization are well trained, they can better contribute to improving the efficiency of the organization. One of the first consequences of this is the lack of need for supervisors to supervise subordinates; At the same time, it helps people to be prepared to meet the conditions for organizational promotion, and ultimately it is possible to perform tasks with the desired desirability of the organization .
- The need for staff training
According to the proposed cases, the most important factors that indicate the need for training in the organization can be described as follows:
اف Horizontal and vertical displacements in the organization
◾ Entry of new employees of an organization
Rapid advances in science and technology
◾Inject human relations into the organization
Moving towards all-round productivity in the organization
یده Complex and towards the mechanization of the organization .
Today, according to all experts and specialists, learning science in the form of general knowledge and learning science and acquiring the necessary skills in specialized fields in particular as an inevitable social necessity is of great importance in macro development. This is important because only through education can man move his special and unlimited abilities from potential to action. Of course, it should be borne in mind that in transcendent cultures, education can only be beneficial through upbringing.
- Necessary preparations for a dynamic training
Ideally, training causes changes in various behavioral aspects of the organization's human resources. To achieve this goal in the organization and the type of training, conditions must be provided, the most important of which can be mentioned as follows:
◾Employees consider themselves inevitable to change: for everything, motivation is needed, in today's world, science is advancing rapidly, so it is necessary for employees to have the necessary expertise to perform their duties at any time and commit themselves at any time. To improve their knowledge.
Employees are aware of the tasks and tasks they must do: If a person is not sufficiently aware of their duties, they can not prepare themselves for any change. Every person in the organization must have a clear and transparent job description in order to be able to prepare themselves for organizational goals. It is the duty of the human resources management of any organization to provide a clear and written job description for each job and position as an employer.
.Employees should be in a job position commensurate with their personal capabilities and operational capabilities: Experience shows that people who are not interested in their job and job position do not succeed in their job because they do not have the desire to do the job. Due to the lack of interest and desire for their work, such employees are not willing to participate in retraining courses and training and promotion workshops of the organization. One of the most important reasons for this reluctance to attend these courses is how to select and attract a person by human resource management in the organization. Unfortunately, the negative effect of these wrong choices is so great that with the help of short and even long-term periods, one can not return to the heart of work in the organization.
- The effect of training on the behavior of organizational force
Training has an effect on the behavior of people in the organization and causes a change in behavior, but according to an unwritten principle, change in any factor requires a stimulus and is a suitable stimulus reward for every human being. In other words, if the organizational force does not benefit financially and spiritually from the result of its change, it will no longer move towards change in the organization and for the organization.
Training courses should have the power to show employees the need for change and the need for it in the organization. It is at the heart of training that employees need to be aware of their duties and the ways in which job expectations can be met.
The important point is that the supervisor should consider it necessary to differentiate between people who participate in training courses and put the issues discussed in practice, and people who do not attend these courses. If this is not done, employees will lose motivation for training and promotion .
- The effect of the conditions governing the organization on the type of human resource behavior
According to management researchers, there are five types of space and psychological atmosphere in the organization that can increase or decrease the desire of employees to change in the workplace, these five spaces are summarized as follows:
Barrier space: In this space, the supervisor is generally opposed to what the employees have read in the training course, this opposition originates from a kind of fear. One reason for this fear is the manager's fear of the potential of employees in the organization's leadership style. Such work environments are not desirable for employees, because in such an environment it is not possible to really belong to the organization and show individual capabilities.
غ Unsatisfactory atmosphere: In this atmosphere, the manager is opposed to the comments of employees, but does not show this opposition in appearance. In this space, the manager shows in ways that he / she is upset if there is any change in the employees, for example, the manager does not put the employees' learnings from the training courses as an operational and executive model. This space is known as frozen space. Many employees prefer to leave such an environment, because in such an environment employees are not allowed to apply their knowledge.
Neutral space: In this space, the manager takes a passive position; In this space, the manager asks the employees to perform only their assigned tasks. If the results of participating in the training courses cause a change that does not conflict with the tasks assigned to the manager, the manager does not show reaction, otherwise the manager plays the role of obstruction and disincentive.
Encouraging atmosphere: In such an atmosphere, the manager encourages employees to learn more and asks them to report what they have learned. In such an atmosphere, the manager and the staff are together and want to With the help of each other, improve the position of the organization.
‌Applicant's space: In such an atmosphere, the manager is aware of and confident in what the employees have learned. In such an environment, the manager ensures that he uses the employees' learning in the process of moving the organization, the manager is willing to sign a contract with the employees to use what they have learned for the final assurance of the employees. In the real world, a real manager must make every effort to ensure that the organization does not fall into obstructive, disillusioned, and neutral spaces.
The fact is that achieving the lofty and strategic goals of the organization depends on having different and diverse capabilities and skills of the members of the organization and considering that many of these capabilities are learnable and nurturing, the important role of supervisors and managers in providing appropriate organizational space It feels .
- Manager with a way to efficient training
All senior executives believe that every organization should invest in training, but in the meantime, some people argue that with the departure of employees to other organizations, the profit of this investment will go to the destination organization, but the fact is that if the company has a training system and If the atmosphere is favorable, the request to leave and transfer from that organization is greatly reduced. "I always think that managers do not have to ask about employee loyalty to the company," said Mr. Shea, CEO of ACER, in one of his speeches. They just have to ask themselves how to create a favorable environment in which the company's employees stay and work hard [4].
Among the most important actions of the manager in order to achieve these goals, the following can be mentioned:
Transforming the organization into a learning organization
Training is effective when the manager strives to become an education-oriented and learning organization. At every moment, efforts should be made to equip the organization with the best ideas. Finally, the organization must provide conditions for employees to learn from all sources inside and outside the organization.
اطلاعاتDistribution of information
An efficient manager in the organization must provide the conditions for people with heartfelt interest to share their information with others, for which a series of encouragement and rewards can be considered.
"Until a decade ago, everyone at General Electric tried to keep good ideas," said Mr. Steveker, director of General Electric's training center. But now we are rewarding the spread and dissemination of ideas and we have succeeded in this way .
جUsing sessions for training
In group meetings, it is possible to think together in order to spread knowledge and at the same time exchange this knowledge with other people, such as brainstorming sessions are such. These sessions allow employees to indirectly transfer knowledge.
بد In-service training
Every person at the beginning of employment in an organization does not know many things related to work and the organization, so it is necessary to train the person before starting to work with the organization. At present, most organizations consider such training to be such as in-service training or internships for employees.
Creating a suitable space for expressing ideas
Employees' freedom of expression makes their minds flourish. Ideally, a manager should have a positive attitude about the ideas he or she receives from employees. People should be given the opportunity to apply the ideas that come to mind; In this case, mistakes may be made, but the success rate is significant.
شEducation with a little fear is beneficial
The real manager is the one who trains the employees with the help of simple but accurate speech, this will lead to more understanding between the employees and the manager, but at the same time, when a mistake is made by the employees, a manager must have the power to deal and reprimand Be. In other words, the freedom of employees must be at an acceptable level that does not dry up the organization and dictatorship, and does not give the organization an unrestrained situation.
گو Being a role model
The manager should be the first person to follow all the rules of the organization and show interest in training. Such a manager leads employees to the goal and can be a good role model for employees. Employees often look to their manager as a role model and many of his behaviors as a symbol of appropriate behavior at work. "Within a workshop, I think it's the job of the workshop owner to incorporate human characteristics into the staff training program," says Matsushita, one of the world's most successful executives. In a company, it is the job of the company president to set an example for others through commitment to work and enduring loyalty to the company. If he makes a mistake in some cases, but in one field he can not fall short and must necessarily be an example and a model, and that is his commitment and commitment to work. A manager, though a scientist and talented, will never be a good leader if he has even a little hesitation in his work. Employees want to see him as an exemplary employee or a committed leader. From a hard-working employer, employees can learn the value and virtue of hard work. In this field, as in other fields, direct objective education is much more laborious than any formal education program.
Delegation of authority
Employee participation in the affairs of the organization is one of the points ordered in the management, which, of course, is disputed by thinkers. During the participation, there is a need for the manager to delegate authority to the employees. Delegation increases the responsibility and independence of employees; It is clear that delegating authority is in the best interest of employees when they have the necessary knowledge to do things An efficient training takes place. This training and the delegation of authority make employees more capable.
◾ Job rotation
Job turnover is the periodic movement of employees in the organization, it can be considered a kind of horizontal intra-organizational movement. With the help of such transfers, employees can experience different areas of work and expand their knowledge, relocation can indirectly train employees.
مشاورRole of the consultant
A manager or supervisor provides job counseling to the manpower under him. This counseling, to a large extent, directly or indirectly, evokes training for employees and improves their performance.
قThe role of coach and guide
The main job of the coach is to educate the subordinates, the manager can play the role of a coach in the organization and ultimately evaluate the staff. Mentoring is a special type of training that top managers use to prepare lower and middle managers. The mentor is placed next to the lower manager for a certain period of time, basically several years to prepare the person for replacement with the upper manager. If this training is done properly, the training will improve the individual's knowledge and increase his motivation to move in the organization.
◾Architeration
Indirect evaluation encourages staff to see and learn. When a senior manager discovers the strengths and weaknesses of employees based on the evaluation, he / she can address the person in some way and remind him / her of these points so that the person can eliminate the weaknesses by consolidating the strengths of his / her performance.
Sending staff on mission and research trips
Travel reveals the hidden points of people's personalities. During the trip, people get acquainted with different cultures by visiting different places, and this is a kind of indirect education. Mission and research trips are a good opportunity for employees to raise their level of knowledge.
◾ Donate useful books
By donating books to employees, managers pursue two main goals, first, that employees can improve their level of knowledge by reading different books in person, regardless of organizational training, and on the other hand, donating books to employees or requiring employees to study causes institutional Becoming a culture of reading in the organization.
The need for review in human resource training
Management science has changed a lot compared to the past, for example, management styles have clearly shifted to delegated and participatory styles, and organizational structures have moved to open and free structures with horizontal relationships. Now the main approach in most Organizations are moving towards the development and professionalization of human resource management. At present, organizations compete with each other to attract skilled and motivated people, which has caused the organization to become a learning and flexible institution and the management approaches of the organization tend to entrepreneurship and work creativity.
In today's world, human capital, intellectual, software, entrepreneurship and creativity are the main features of management. Professionalizing the field of human resources causes this field to improve its real position in organizations and enterprises and in fact between the importance of human resources and the position of human resource management as a process that is responsible for providing, maintaining, nurturing and motivating employees and increasing their productivity. , To establish the necessary proportion and coordination. In many countries, the position of human resources is not very good, unfortunately, our country is one of these countries. The reason for this is that the professionalization of human resources depends on the identification of different areas of management, human issues and pathology of these cases.
Existing management styles in organizations show that the movement towards delegated and participatory management methods has begun and access to information has become universal. Of course, this generalization of access to information of the organization faces many complexities in the management of human resources, and at the same time interaction with the environment in the present world is necessary. Therefore, a manager must have a global view of his professional issues and this role is much more prominent in the field of human resources. It is even believed that HR managers need to know different languages in order to communicate, and this can expand interactions. To the extent of becoming a professional in the field of human resources in some countries, factors such as multiracialism, multilingualism and seeing different countries as an priority for selecting a manager have been emphasized. This shows that the human resources manager must also be exposed to all kinds of training at all times.
When asked about the reason for Japan's success, the Japanese Prime Minister responds in one word: education. In fact, the Prime Minister of Japan sums up education and development in this sense. This shows the importance of human resources in all of Japan's infrastructure.
Another point to be inferred from this is that if the manager can provide a local and tailored solution to each of the human resource management processes, the possibility of directing human resources towards professionalism will increase. Of course, effective associations and consultants in this way should provide the necessary support to managers .
- Ethics in human resource training
It was stated that education is one of the necessary principles in any organization, but based on the type of organization and its value or not, the issue of ethics in education is raised. Human resource management has a strong human dimension and communication is an important component in this management. One of the most basic principles of creating effective communication with other people is to observe human moral principles But in today's world, due to the complex life of the machine and the extensive communication in the virtual environment and the lack of attention to the spiritual and spiritual dimensions of man, many moral principles are not considered among members of society. Failure to pay attention to moral principles creates a gap between human beings and human traits; For this reason, in the management under the supervision of Islam and in the whole school management and ethics, a lot of attention has been paid to the attributes and ethics.
- A look at the concept of ethics
Martyr Morteza Motahhari says: The science of ethics is the science of living or the science of how to live .
Allama Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Tabatabai says: Ethics is a technique that discusses human properties, properties that are related to his plant, animal and human powers, in order to separate their virtues from its vices and To find out which of the carnal properties of man is good and virtue and the cause of his perfection, and which one is bad and vile and the cause of his imperfection, so that a person, after recognizing them, may end up with virtues, and avoid vices, and as a result of good deeds It is necessary for the inner virtues to do so in order to attract the general praise and praise of the society in human society, and to perfect its scientific and practical happiness .
From the point of view of many Western thinkers, ethics is a social and informal regulation. Western theorists have removed God and morality from the daily lives of human beings, and in this regard have reversed many values [12] and [15].
- The role of ethics in human resource management
Human resource management is directly related to the attitudes of employees and members of the organization, these forces help the organization to move towards its goals. If the relationship is a healthy one, the organization will achieve its goals, and if the relationship is based on immoral behavior, the organization will fail to achieve its goals.
It was stated that education has an essential role in improving the level of knowledge and productivity of the organization, but if this education is ethical and in accordance with the moral culture, the result of education will be displayed effectively. Among the most important things that cause the managers of the organization to move completely indirectly towards the peace resulting from ethics, the following can be mentioned:
◾ Ensuring the psychological security of employees
Psychological security is one of the results of ethics and ethics are the guarantors of creating psychological security in the organization. By providing psychological security for the members of the organization, achieving goals becomes easier.
. Injecting the spirit of justice-oriented in the organization
Justice is one of the most central slogans of any school of ethics. When members of the organization feel that there is justice in the organization, there is a greater sense of cooperation between members and management.
◾ Reduce stress and strain
Remembering God calms hearts. This sentence, at the same time, shows the role of ethics and school in reducing psychological pressures in any society such as an organization. By reducing the psychological pressures in the organization, moving towards the goals with the help of members is easily possible.
◾ Encourage employees to fully adhere to value principles
If managers and other members in the organization adhere to different principles of the organization, the organization will move towards sustainability. One of the reasons for the perpetuation of the face of some managers is their attention to religious and organizational values, the Supreme Leader said in a statement on the occasion of Government Week that: They were principles and values. The perpetuation of the memory of these enlightened figures is a sign of God's thanks to the sincere servants who work and strive for Islam with all their might and crystallize the Islamic-revolutionary values in their works .
It can be said that the development of human resources is impractical regardless of moral and human issues. By examining and recognizing the organization space and moving towards planning to compensate for shortcomings, the ethical culture of the organization, which is an important aspect of human resource training, can be injected among the organization's forces and ultimately move towards real development in human resources and organizational productivity. .
- The benefits of ethics management in human resource management training
Organizational ethics, like other disciplines of management, was created due to the expansion of the organization. As the activities in the organization became more complex, the managers felt that the organization needed to do the right thing along with doing the right thing, which resulted in the formation of organizational ethics.
The task of human resource management in the field of organizational ethics is to identify, prioritize values in order to guide various behaviors and careful and codified planning in order to achieve organizational ethics. What is important here is that the human resources manager should note that training in the organization should be done with a view that is fully consistent with the values of the organization and the ethics of the subject in the environment.
- The role of ethics from the perspective of Islam in the management and education of human resources
A real manager is one who first acts on what is injected into the organization under the concepts of organizational ethics. Organizations that are managed on the basis of religious and Islamic values and education in them is a school based on this. In these organizations, self-worth is the key to indirect education.

We see many similarities in the function of both the brain and the immune system. They both are involved in distinguishing self from non-self, protecting the body from harm, there is a large overlap in the chemicals they use for communication between the cells in each system, there are feedback loops between the two systems showing that they are constantly and intimately communicating with each other, the nosology to describe the immune system has changed over the years from just "immunology" to "psycho-neuro-immunology".

Dear Prof. Nahar!
You spotted a very important topic. I think the answer is a case (man, woman) and context (country, access to support infrastructures) - dependent problem to consider. Educational reforms are part of the solution:

Hi,
I have a question.
For a 1D discrete variable, such as x(t) varying with time, there is a transform operator, such as Z-transform by which x could be transfered to a complex (2D) space (for continues variables, we have Fourier transform).
Is there any generalized transformation which transfers x(t) (1D variable) to the hypercomplex space introduced in the paper?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I have computed the model in the screenshot and I get the feedback from AMOS that it is unidentified and I need to add 5 additional constraints. Where do I add the constrainst and how to I know, why and wich constraints to add?
I did calculate the identifiedness of the model and it should be overidentified with 91 know parameters and 27 unknown. I followed the method described by J. Albright and Hun Myoung Park 2009: Confirmatory Factor Analysis using Amos, LISREL, Mplus, SAS/STAT CALIS*.
Also I did check for Skweness and Kurtosis and none of the values are over 2.0. I know that I have negatie correlations between the variables. Does this have to do anything and how can I fix the problem in the model?

Answer
Hi there,
after taking a look into the question wordings, I have problems to understand, how these could be conceptualized as indicators of the same underlying factor. The low correlations among the indicators show that, too. I guess, this is the reason for the error: The model is misspecified.
There are two options. Select a few indicators that may indeed measure the same thing (for instance, the incompetence factor, measured by #1, #3 and #7 could work
But still, some correlations among items that could share some common cause, a remarkably low. For instance, in your table 2, item #4 ("when I am at work...") shows a correlation of r = .03 with #2 ("I feel I can make lot of inputs.."). Both seem to reflect some kind job autonomy. Why the correlation is so low, is really strange. Did you pretest the item (that is, perosns could have severe problems to understand the items..)
The second option would be: Go the "index-road" and create a composite. As any index however, you loose some part of relevance (as you are investigating a thing that you have just created). And if my presumption about the large measurement error is true, the index won't solve that entirely.
All the best,
Holger

Stabilizing techniques for transistor amplifiers are well known, and as we know the frequency of operation we can make sure of stable operation in that band. However, in oscillators and specifically parallel oscillators which oscillation frequency is wished to be defined by feedback loop length (phase delay) we end up with existing multiple oscillation modes. e.g. equivalent series feedback mode at low frequency.
my question is that in such oscillators how can we make sure of other modes suppression? of course we can check startup condition for modes, how ever this is an analysis technique not synthesis.
my intuition is that as oscillation starts from DC we should keep amplifier stable all the way to oscillation frequency. but I am not sure.
I appreciate it if you share your experience with others.
thanks a lot
Relevant answer
Answer
From the control view, you have to keep your poles on the left side of the imaginary axis. This means that the amplifier has to be insulated from the oscillator or work at different frequencies. Also usually it is said that in a high-frequency world, the amplifiers oscillate while the oscillator does not!
As a result, I think your question can be answered if you let us more details such as circuit structure, desirable oscillation frequency, type of amplifier, oscillator, and feedback.

For finite-horizon LQ, you basically apply dynamic programming (back backpropagation) to find the optimal control policy. See Chapter 11 of the book: Digital Control System Analysis & Design 4th Edition.
For the infinite-horizon counterpart, it reduces to the H2 optimization problem where you can use LMI or algebraic Ricatti equation to solve the optimal steady-state control gain.

14 principles of teacher feedback: how to point out mistakes to children and help them correct them.
The age of red ink and corrections in notebooks is coming to an end. Today, feedback from a teacher is not just an indication of mistakes, but rather an occasion for reflection. But how to build an assessment so that children do not lose their desire to learn, but, on the contrary, have excitement and a desire to learn new things? We understand.
There are many studies proving the positive impact of teacher feedback on the learning process and student motivation. For this to really work, assessment needs to be timely, relevant, and focused not on fixing bugs, but on action—that is, on ways to fix those bugs. We have compiled 14 pedagogical principles that will engage students in discussion and help them master independent work.
1. Define a goal
Schoolchildren strive to achieve the goal only if they clearly understand the final result, the upcoming stages of the path to it and their benefits in this process. In this case, they can take responsibility and evaluate progress. If the goal does not seem important and interesting, and the students as a whole do not share the views of the teacher, then they will also not accept comments and feedback.
2. Joint formulation of standards
To ensure that disagreements do not arise during the assessment phase, it is necessary to formulate, together with the children, the criteria that will apply to their work. It is advisable to prescribe them, and even better - to supplement with oral explanations. In this way, you will involve children in the process, give them a voice - this will contribute to their interest and increase motivation to work.
3. Practical application of feedback
For feedback to be effective, students must clearly understand its benefits. And the task of the teacher here is to explain at the very beginning why assessment is needed at all and how it can help children. For this you need:
Monitor the timeliness of providing feedback;
Correct the work of the wards and give them recommendations in the process;
Filter information and prevent its excess;
Identify priority areas for developing feedback skills;
Develop online tests - ensure feedback is received at any time.
Try also asking the children to give feedback on your work, and then discuss and try to take into account their wishes. This will be a clear example of using feedback to improve the result.
4. Have a conversation
Feedback is not a one-way transfer of information. It is easier for children to take a direct part in its organization, that is, to be participants in the dialogue. If there are a lot of people in the class, organizing a discussion is not an easy process, but in this case, students can be divided into several groups or set up reaction symbols (thumbs up / down).

It's a very real life problem based research about our Bangladesh ,The
major sources of noise pollution in urban areas
are traffic and loud horns. The DoE found that in
Dhaka, 500-1,000 vehicles honk at the same
time when stuck in traffic. Other causes of noise
pollution include loud music during social,
political, and religious programs, construction
work, and factory noise. Noise Pollution man-
made noise harmful to health or welfare.
Transportation vehicles are the worst offenders,
with aircraft, railroad stock, trucks, buses,
automobiles, and motorcycles all producing
excessive noise. Noise intensity is measured in
decibel (dB) units. Subject to 45 dB of noise, the
average person cannot sleep. At 120 dB the ear
registers pain; hearing damage begins at a much
lower level, about 85 dB. According to a survey
of the Department of Environment (DOE), noise
causes mental and physical illness among the
people. It causes high blood pressure,
tachycardia, headache, indigestion, peptic ulcer,
and also affects sound sleep. Noise pollution is
a health hazard. But, in Bangladesh, little has
been done so far to reduce noise pollution. The
authority concerned must create awareness
among the people so that in the long run people
can eradicate noise pollution from the country
once for all.

Due to the highly interactive nature of video games, the function of feedback in video games should be very important, but in papers based on the general learning model (Anderson & Bushman, 2002), the general aggression model (Buckley & Anderson, 2006), or the other models that discuss the influence of video games on social behavioral outcomes, it seems straightforward to equate "the game contains violent content" with "the game positively feeds back violent content" (similarly for prosocial content), e.g. measuring post-game cognitive and behavioral changes after playing a game containing violent behavior for a short period of time, e.g. asking subjects to what extent the game they often play contains violent behavior and examining its relationship with other variables through structural equations.
Searching for "video games" plus "feedback" in WoS, etc., there are not many studies from the psychological perspective, most of the focus has been on the function of feedback in video games cognitive training. There is one study (Carnagey & Anderson, 2005) mentioned the role of reward and punishment in post-game aggressive behavior, little research have discussed this issue. I'm very curious if I'm missing something in this, shouldn't the function of feedback in video games be critical?

What are the things to follow to eliminate over run error in DS1104?
---Please share your thoughts.
---First thing is Sampling time. How much sampling time does one can go for particularly for Motor control application in DS1104?
----and it depends on number of feedbacks and number of variables and number of DAC outputs right?
I want your suggestions from your expertise...maximum how many feedback signals and DACs we can use at a time at what sample time to not to get over run.
Let say the control algorithm i want to implement is FOC with Space vector modulation with DS1104.
Thank you
Relevant answer
Answer
In general, during the use of the DS1104 board you must respect the following point:
without using the complete physical system i.e the co-simulation of complete Simulink simulation in control-desk after generation of the sdf File, you must test your control with a reduced value of sampling time for example fs=1KHz or much less than this value, if your control does work you can in this way increase the frequency value until reaching the maximal value which can be the optimal frequency for your control, otherwise i.e the control does not work, the major problem in this situation focused in the control.
Remarque: the sampling time, in general, depend absolutely on the system complexity, if the system is more complex the frequency can be small and vice versa
-in general for the control machine the ideal frequency is fs= 10KHz
-for a photovoltaic system, the frequency can go the 100KHz

It is known that for optimal RIS control, perfect CSI of all the links between BS and MS through the RIS is required. Therefore, channel estimation and corresponding message feedback methods will be needed at the BS/MS.
Few studies suggest a two-stage channel estimation approach for RIS-aided MIMO channels, using iterative re-weighted method for estimating channel parameters sequentially.
Will this be a good way to go about it, or there is/are better methods.
Relevant answer

If there is no specific channel structure, then you will have to transmit pilots using N different RIS configurations, in order to excite all dimensions of the channel.
However, if there is some channel structure (e.g., spatial sparsity) one might be able to reduce the pilot signaling.

RT-qPCR and in-situ hybridization (the microscope are available) came to mind. What method is better in terms of effort and precision? Are there any other options?
Thanks for your feedback
Relevant answer
Answer
I think that RT-qPCR used to be an important follow-up/validation step for transcripts of interest when RNAseq was still a relatively new technique, but I dont think it is necessarily required now, depending on your needs/application. Perhaps it could be useful in cases where you have additional or independent samples from those that from your RNAseq experiment and want to profile the expression of particular genes/transcripts of interest? But, a number of studies have shown that RNAseq data are HIGHLY correlated with qPCR data (e.g. doi:10.1038/nmeth.1503, doi:10.1186/1471-2164-doi:10.1038/nmeth.2694, doi:10.1016/j.gene.2014.01.031)

With an online survey as the quantitative instrument, I want to test three themes. The dependent variable "relationship success" is defined from various academic literature and will be tested with four Likert scale questions. The independent variables "Communication", "Transparency", and "Intercultural competence" were identified from the Expert interviews and supported through various academic literature. Each of them consists of four questions, build from the definition of the theme (scale 1-5; completely disagree - completely agree). The hypotheses look like "Communication is positively associated with the success of cross-cultural business relationships".
The cross-cultural background and key account orientation I will test with nominal questions at the beginning. My data I will test then in SPSS following "Sullivan, G. M., & Artino Jr, A. R. (2013). Analyzing and interpreting data from Likert-type scales."
As I am not an expert on statistical analysis so I would appreciate your feedback. Is the way I build the model correct or are there factors that I have to improve?
Any remarks and critic is welcome! If you need additional information please let me know.
Thank you very much for your time and help!
Bonus question: I used various literature to define "successful business relationships", if anyone can recommend research on that topic I am thankful too! As it is the dependent variable I want to be extra meticulous!
Relevant answer
Answer
For your multiple Likert-scored items in the dependent variable, you can investigate whether they form a single scale by using coefficient alpha, possibly followed by exploratory factor analysis if your alpha is below .8.
For you independent variables, if they are also potential scales, then you can follow the same advice as above. If they are single items measures, then I would recommend analysis of variance.

Most journals use double blind reviews (where the reviewers are anonymous to authors and vice versa), but few journals publish the reviewers' comments alongside the authors’ responses in an open review.
When the authors (through the corresponding author) submit a manuscript to journal, a technical editor takes an initial perusal on the document and decides whether the manuscript meets the basic standard criteria for publication such as referencing style and formatting and lies within the journal's scope for publication, hence can move forward with the document at this point. If not, the manuscript is desk-rejected and is never sent for reviewing. Depending on the journal, most manuscripts are rejected at this stage.
If the manuscript meets this criteria, the editor then sends it (I think) to three or four reviewers who have expertise in the field but have no conflict of interest to this research. It is assumed that the anonymous reviewers will make independent
decisions which will form the basis for consideration in rejecting or not rejecting the manuscript. The reviewers critically read the manuscript and comment on novelty, significance, technical quality and the possible research impact if published.
To some authors, the reasons for rejecting the manuscript looks minor and is not related to the main idea of the proposition, hence wonders whether they should submit a rebuttal to the editors decision (refer the previous discussion by Mumtaz Ali, May 2020: https://www.researchgate.net/post/rebuttal_to_editors_decision).
To the beginners or newbies in competitive research, the rejection of a manuscript can be extremely frustrating and too hard to cope with especially when when the reason for not considering the manuscript for publication is minor and largely unsubstantiated. It sometimes evokes negative responses from the author (refer the previous discussion by Panayiotis Koutentis, November 2013: https://www.researchgate.net/post/When_should_you_challenge_an_editors_decision_to_reject_a_paper)
which may affect their future authorship and submission to the journal.
It is particularly hard to deal with the first rejection when the author looked for the most suitable journal for their paper but will be better placed if the rewrite the manuscript and send it to another prioritized journal. Nevertheless, the authors may be experienced in the field and be well informed in the subject of research and may have preference to this particular journal. What if the authors decide to send a rebuttal to the editors' decision? Will the editors care to read a contrary response and provide a feedback? Is there any chance that the editors will consider it and rescind their decision on the manuscript?

Answer
Some scientific journals have a demand far exceeding the number of articles they could publish, in order to keep their editorial lines exposed and evaluated by databases. For this reason, I think they can afford to reject other articles. It can also be a time saver: since there are many articles to evaluate, the team of a journal still rejects, if the authors do not respect the requirements, the instructions.
My opinion: the higher the rating of the scientific journal, the lower the chance of receiving an answer from the publisher.
It would be a solution to find out the email from the editor-in-chief and write to him about your dissatisfaction

I want to include two different psychology scales in one Google form. One has a 6 point Likert scale and the other has a 5 point Likert scale. Separate instructions were included. Still, some participants gave a feedback that it would be better if both scales had the same number of response points.
Relevant answer
Answer
What is the scale for? The even scales are used primarily to assess clinical mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety, etc. (There is no neutrality: they have or they don't have / are more or less serious). Odd scales are better for assessing psychosocial problems.
You say perform the scale on Google. The biggest problem is the format. Not the range of numbers. I have not observed problems with scale variation in Google forms. Please note that Google scales display well on mobile phone and many people respond with them. If you use the multiple choice grid option, only 4 of the points are visible; To see the rest, they need to click the arrow and move. This gives response errors. Use multiple choice without grid option.

P1: Ontology + Data = Knowledge Graph (KG)
P2: If a KG is the sum of these two summands, it follows:
C: An ontology is a framework for a KG
As a framework, an Ontology consists of person data, classes, properties, relations and axioms.
Personal data: Tom
classes: Interim project manager
Properties: takes over the project
Relationships: Tom is the successor of Bernd
Axioms: Tom takes over the project from Bernd
KG: We ask a question and the knowledge graph makes connections to the individual elements of the Ontology. It brings them to life, so to speak.
If you compare the KG with our neural network, you can see similarities. If I ask Tom a question, he will use his neural network to answer this question and generate new ideas.
That's why Knowledge Graphs are also defined as a kind of semantic network.
Does the community agree with this approach? Please give feedback! Thanks!

Answer
" In computing, an ontology is then a concrete, formal representation — a convention—on what terms mean within the scope in which they are used (e.g., a given domain). Like all conventions, the usefulness of an ontology depends on how broadly and consistently it is adopted and how detailed it is. Knowledge graphs that use a shared ontology will be more interoperable. Given that ontologies are formal representations, they can further be used to automate entailment."

Ontology Rules can be used for reasoning in order to deduce implicity knowledge based on existing KG data.
But an ontology itself can contain data (called individuals or instances or concrete objects). So what is the difference between an ontology and an ontology-based KG? Maybe data size.

Hi, I plan to knock down a gene in immortalized keratinocyte (Ker-CT from ATCC). In the spec sheet, it was mentioned that these cells were immortalized with h-Tert and CDK4 carrying puromycin as their selection marker. Theoretically, it would be safer to select different selection antibiotics, however puromycin is the only one available for my gene of interest.
Has anyone transfected/ transduced Ker-CT with puromycin as selection marker? Is the selection accurate? I had seen publications where puromycin is used as the selection marker in Ker-CT, but would like to gather more information/ feedback. Thanks!
Relevant answer
Answer
If your cells are already resistant to puromycine, you will have no selection of your recombinant cells. You could do a cotransfection with another plasmid carrying a selection. This selective plasmid must be at a lower concentration than your plasmid of interest. You could try 1:5 or 1:10, reported to the size of your plasmid

Has anyone purchased or used the table top BD Facs melody cell sorter? Our lab purchased one 1.5 years ago and it has been the most frustrating machine ever. The stage locks up, techs have to come out every 2-3 months to fix something and reboot the software, etc. I am trying to ascertain other researchers experiences , if any, with this model. I believe we have an absolute lemon but I want your feedback.

Hi,
We also have had several issues. However, our service engineer identified several manufacturing defects that he was able to resolve:
1) We had constant drop in the rate (like clogs). We were first told it was issues with our samples. Then after the service engineer used the melody specific accu drop beads and not his generic ones he uses for the PM, we found that large cells would get stuck but not small ones. He found out that there was a manufacturing issues with some lots of nozzle of the end of the sample line in the flow cell. Indded it had micro barbs where the cells would get stuck on. He changed the nozzle and we had no problem after that.
· The second issue was also a manufacturing issue. There was a cable that was pinched in a frame and eventually grounded the cable to the frame.
We don’t use the instrument often but this is clearly one of the instrument I keep a service contract on…

I simply conceive of time as a succession of events and shared time to be measured by a succession of events presumed to be constant or regular in some fashion (e.g. changing positions of the sun, emission cycles of cesium radiation, levels of sand in an hourglass)

Hello,
I am studying Computer Science and I am currently working on my Bachelor thesis. For that, I am looking for suitable datasets. My goal is to apply Process Mining to these datasets to identify and analyze interesting processes. However, the problem is that these datasets need to be in a certain format to be suitable for Process Mining. The data needs to have a Case Id, Activity, and Timestamp column. In other words, the data needs to be activity-based so that processes with different activity sequences can be found.
I wanted to ask if someone has any idea where I could find such datasets? I'd be most interested in datasets in sectors such as energy, waste management, public work (but other input would be helpful as well). So far I mainly could find the datasets from previous years' BPI challenges.
Here is a short page with more information about Process Mining and the desired format (including a brief example):
Any feedback would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Louis
