Recently, a narrative review paper was published (2022) on the same subject that I published (2021). When reading the paper, I found a lot of similarities. I realized that the authors cited 32 papers that I also used (they used 193 references and provided an up-to-date on the subject). So far, OK. The majority of people would say this is not a problem. My results were organized in a table after search methodology. Then, I realized that a lot of the data in the table is in their text, often verbatim, but they cited the original papers. However, when I looked at the references, I realized that chunks of their references are in the same order as in my paper. For example, one of the chucks have 7 references in the same order as in my table of results. The same happens in other parts of the paper. Their research did not use any methodology (so we don't know how they got to their results), and my table is not in alphabetical or chronological order. So, even if researchers write about the same subject and use similar papers, it is very rare to see chunks of references in the same order. I also see a lot of rephrasing of ideas from my discussion and conclusion. Due to all these, I feel like there is a strong evidence of plagiarism. It looks like they used my table of results to compose part of their paper, but did not give me credit for it, although they cited my paper for other unrelated minor details. Reading their paper carefully, I also identified several sentences which citations are wrong. For example, a big paragraph refers to an original paper as the source of info, but when you go there, that info is not from that paper. Knowing well the subject, I found several mistakes like that. There is also a lot of citations using non-peer-reviewed articles from blog/news posts. So, the authors were very careless with citations and referencing previous works. Review articles are difficult to prove plagiarism, and often people regard it as subjective and say there are no clear guidelines to identify it. Softwares don't catch everything. So, my question is: are these reasons that I explained (especially having those chunks of references in the same order) enough proof to contact the editors of their journal?

I am trying to use vibrotactile feedback to convey information, using LRA-actuators on a glove that operate at a fixed frequency of 205Hz. By adjusting the amplitude I try to convey the information.
Let's assume we have a given range of amplitudes I can use (e.g. 0% to 100%). I wonder how big the steps have to be for a human to notice the difference in a decrease or increase in the perceived intensity. (e.g. if I trigger four actuators in sequence, how huge do the gaps between the amplitudes have to be set, to be perceived as a decrease or increase compared to the previously felt vibration)
I am trying to find the best method with neural networks to classify and calculate cells from microscope feedback images. I need to create a simple network as a start. I do not want a complicated pre-trained model.
We see many similarities in the function of both the brain and the immune system. They both are involved in distinguishing self from non-self, protecting the body from harm, there is a large overlap in the chemicals they use for communication between the cells in each system, there are feedback loops between the two systems showing that they are constantly and intimately communicating with each other, the nosology to describe the immune system has changed over the years from just "immunology" to "psycho-neuro-immunology".

I have computed the model in the screenshot and I get the feedback from AMOS that it is unidentified and I need to add 5 additional constraints. Where do I add the constrainst and how to I know, why and wich constraints to add?
I did calculate the identifiedness of the model and it should be overidentified with 91 know parameters and 27 unknown. I followed the method described by J. Albright and Hun Myoung Park 2009: Confirmatory Factor Analysis using Amos, LISREL, Mplus, SAS/STAT CALIS*.
Also I did check for Skweness and Kurtosis and none of the values are over 2.0. I know that I have negatie correlations between the variables. Does this have to do anything and how can I fix the problem in the model?

Stabilizing techniques for transistor amplifiers are well known, and as we know the frequency of operation we can make sure of stable operation in that band. However, in oscillators and specifically parallel oscillators which oscillation frequency is wished to be defined by feedback loop length (phase delay) we end up with existing multiple oscillation modes. e.g. equivalent series feedback mode at low frequency.
my question is that in such oscillators how can we make sure of other modes suppression? of course we can check startup condition for modes, how ever this is an analysis technique not synthesis.
my intuition is that as oscillation starts from DC we should keep amplifier stable all the way to oscillation frequency. but I am not sure.

Due to the highly interactive nature of video games, the function of feedback in video games should be very important, but in papers based on the general learning model (Anderson & Bushman, 2002), the general aggression model (Buckley & Anderson, 2006), or the other models that discuss the influence of video games on social behavioral outcomes, it seems straightforward to equate "the game contains violent content" with "the game positively feeds back violent content" (similarly for prosocial content), e.g. measuring post-game cognitive and behavioral changes after playing a game containing violent behavior for a short period of time, e.g. asking subjects to what extent the game they often play contains violent behavior and examining its relationship with other variables through structural equations.
Searching for "video games" plus "feedback" in WoS, etc., there are not many studies from the psychological perspective, most of the focus has been on the function of feedback in video games cognitive training. There is one study (Carnagey & Anderson, 2005) mentioned the role of reward and punishment in post-game aggressive behavior, little research have discussed this issue. I'm very curious if I'm missing something in this, shouldn't the function of feedback in video games be critical?

It is known that for optimal RIS control, perfect CSI of all the links between BS and MS through the RIS is required. Therefore, channel estimation and corresponding message feedback methods will be needed at the BS/MS.
Few studies suggest a two-stage channel estimation approach for RIS-aided MIMO channels, using iterative re-weighted method for estimating channel parameters sequentially.

I am working on MWCNTs based Supercapacitors, here is the initial draft. Would like to get some feedback on the article. Can you guys take a look at this.
With an online survey as the quantitative instrument, I want to test three themes. The dependent variable "relationship success" is defined from various academic literature and will be tested with four Likert scale questions. The independent variables "Communication", "Transparency", and "Intercultural competence" were identified from the Expert interviews and supported through various academic literature. Each of them consists of four questions, build from the definition of the theme (scale 1-5; completely disagree - completely agree). The hypotheses look like "Communication is positively associated with the success of cross-cultural business relationships".
The cross-cultural background and key account orientation I will test with nominal questions at the beginning. My data I will test then in SPSS following "Sullivan, G. M., & Artino Jr, A. R. (2013). Analyzing and interpreting data from Likert-type scales."
As I am not an expert on statistical analysis so I would appreciate your feedback. Is the way I build the model correct or are there factors that I have to improve?

Dear friends colleagues, have you ever had issues with signing Springer Nature Consent To Publish (CTP) form , in order for your work to be accepted by them? I have recently been invited by them to edit a new contribution . I am usually suspicious with such invitations and must check the consequences of signing such a CTP. Any lessons learnt? Regards and best wishes for the new year to come.
Most journals use double blind reviews (where the reviewers are anonymous to authors and vice versa), but few journals publish the reviewers' comments alongside the authors’ responses in an open review.
When the authors (through the corresponding author) submit a manuscript to journal, a technical editor takes an initial perusal on the document and decides whether the manuscript meets the basic standard criteria for publication such as referencing style and formatting and lies within the journal's scope for publication, hence can move forward with the document at this point. If not, the manuscript is desk-rejected and is never sent for reviewing. Depending on the journal, most manuscripts are rejected at this stage.
If the manuscript meets this criteria, the editor then sends it (I think) to three or four reviewers who have expertise in the field but have no conflict of interest to this research. It is assumed that the anonymous reviewers will make independent
decisions which will form the basis for consideration in rejecting or not rejecting the manuscript. The reviewers critically read the manuscript and comment on novelty, significance, technical quality and the possible research impact if published.
To some authors, the reasons for rejecting the manuscript looks minor and is not related to the main idea of the proposition, hence wonders whether they should submit a rebuttal to the editors decision (refer the previous discussion by Mumtaz Ali, May 2020: https://www.researchgate.net/post/rebuttal_to_editors_decision).
To the beginners or newbies in competitive research, the rejection of a manuscript can be extremely frustrating and too hard to cope with especially when when the reason for not considering the manuscript for publication is minor and largely unsubstantiated. It sometimes evokes negative responses from the author (refer the previous discussion by Panayiotis Koutentis, November 2013: https://www.researchgate.net/post/When_should_you_challenge_an_editors_decision_to_reject_a_paper)
which may affect their future authorship and submission to the journal.
It is particularly hard to deal with the first rejection when the author looked for the most suitable journal for their paper but will be better placed if the rewrite the manuscript and send it to another prioritized journal. Nevertheless, the authors may be experienced in the field and be well informed in the subject of research and may have preference to this particular journal. What if the authors decide to send a rebuttal to the editors' decision? Will the editors care to read a contrary response and provide a feedback? Is there any chance that the editors will consider it and rescind their decision on the manuscript?
I want to include two different psychology scales in one Google form. One has a 6 point Likert scale and the other has a 5 point Likert scale. Separate instructions were included. Still, some participants gave a feedback that it would be better if both scales had the same number of response points.

Hi, I plan to knock down a gene in immortalized keratinocyte (Ker-CT from ATCC). In the spec sheet, it was mentioned that these cells were immortalized with h-Tert and CDK4 carrying puromycin as their selection marker. Theoretically, it would be safer to select different selection antibiotics, however puromycin is the only one available for my gene of interest.
Has anyone transfected/ transduced Ker-CT with puromycin as selection marker? Is the selection accurate? I had seen publications where puromycin is used as the selection marker in Ker-CT, but would like to gather more information/ feedback. Thanks!
Has anyone purchased or used the table top BD Facs melody cell sorter? Our lab purchased one 1.5 years ago and it has been the most frustrating machine ever. The stage locks up, techs have to come out every 2-3 months to fix something and reboot the software, etc. I am trying to ascertain other researchers experiences , if any, with this model. I believe we have an absolute lemon but I want your feedback.
For example, do you think time goes horizontally or vertically; whether the time arrow is directed forward or backward, right or left, up or down; if time is going past us, or are we moving through it?

I am studying Computer Science and I am currently working on my Bachelor thesis. For that, I am looking for suitable datasets. My goal is to apply Process Mining to these datasets to identify and analyze interesting processes. However, the problem is that these datasets need to be in a certain format to be suitable for Process Mining. The data needs to have a Case Id, Activity, and Timestamp column. In other words, the data needs to be activity-based so that processes with different activity sequences can be found.
I wanted to ask if someone has any idea where I could find such datasets? I'd be most interested in datasets in sectors such as energy, waste management, public work (but other input would be helpful as well). So far I mainly could find the datasets from previous years' BPI challenges.

Hello! I am a 1st year PhD student, and am attempting to isolate three different types of ganglion cells from Nematostella vectensis for some in vitro studies. I have been through a few different publications to see how others had done it, and I have a pretty good idea of how to obtain a general culture of different cells, but I am not sure how to select and isolate ganglion cells to try and make a stable line. If anyone has any advice on how to do this, I would greatly appreciate your feedback!

I would like to know what are the common method to get sensor sensor feedback in teleoperated underwater ROV to close the control loop. I mean does it use Velocity or Force and what sensor are used. I tried to use only IMU and get Velocity to control the UUV but velocity error accumulated over time and is not good. So any other options?
