I would like experts to provide me with the philosophers of the 1500-1620 period who discussed "ethics" in all or parts of their career. Erasmus, Montaigne, Castiglione, Bruno, Sidney and their likes come to mind immediately. I would appreciate anyone who can introduce me to other lesser anthologized and known thinkers and their books or essays on the subject. Any source, even famous ones, will be greatly appropriated.
My research specifically focusses on comparing the use of allegory by both catholic and protestant writers of Early Modern French Literature.

I especially would be interested what sources did the author use for compiling this book. As I am not familiar with such 18th century compilations and have not found any references so far, any article/book/part of book/chapter is highly welcome.
Thank you
