For prosperity purpose. The present and future generations would be privileged to be enlightened about their cultural heritage. This is what is missing in the present Africa countries. We have lost all our valuable culture to civilization. Hence, our children are missing our cultures.

As you are talking about digital preservation of ancestral houses, I am assuming you want a three dimensional digital preservation ecosystem. For this kind of three dimensional digital models, file formats such as .ply and .stl are good to work with.

They are compatible with MeshLab and you can use it to view and edit the files. You should always run your digital objects through a proper digital curation framework. Digital curation will clean your digital data and describe your data with a proper domain specific metadata standard. This will help in preservation and accession of the data.

Thank you Ma'am Marta Gonçalves ! I would want to start a website with features like heritage listings and cultural mapping, it would also be an archive of articles about the architectural heritage. I want to see if there are things to avoid in doing this process for the research that might affect its value? I would also want to know what other kinds of digital preservation exists and how does it work? and of course, to find out why is it really important to digitally preserve these cultural heritage structures? It's a very nice list already, but I'd also add the barriers from the user side: access to technology, capabilities to use technologies for access, and trust in digitized IRs. 

Plus, while lack of fund or unfavorable government policies seem to be common issues in some other parts of the world, I'd consider some more context-dependent barriers in addition to power outage and unstable political transition. Anything stemming from the cultural context, too, perhaps?

Please consider the digitization policy, file formats, hardware and software, metadata, etc. If possible, meet few people who are involved in this activity at Museum or Library which will give you a clear understanding on this topic. You can use NAS (Network Attach Storage) for home or office and use encrypted USB FlashDisk for mobile. But if need online storages, there are lot of them i.e. dropbox, googledrive, box, mega, etc.

It seems necessary to know something about the field where you are using a hash function, for example to identify fles, to keep password...

As mentioned, there are quite a few  open source diigtal library related softwares out there and in my experience it will be best to pair a couple of the softwares mentioned for your backend (storage, metadata) and front end (display) possibilities to create the best product infrastructure .  

We currently use Dspace for a backend repository  but are now thinking about Hydra and testing Archivematica: an open source digital preservation system: https://www.archivematica.org/en/   Another newer solution that is getting a lot of buzz currently is the Hydra project , a multi-purpose repository solution that has a lot of flexibility for user interfaces and digital asset management http://projecthydra.org/  There will be programming knowledge required in all of these but the newer softwares mentioned use newer methodologies that any programmer will be able to take up with focused effort.  Hydra is commonly used with Blacklight http://projectblacklight.org/   and Stanford is currently doing some very interesting work with Hydra.

 For front end display of items we have been having a lot of success with the open source Omeka platform  http://omeka.org/  which is also fairly intuitive and also flexible for working with various other softwares  We have been pairing this up with our Dspace backend.

I should also note Islandora has been getting a lot of attention as a one stop solution: http://islandora.ca/  It combines the open source softwares: Fedora (backend), Drupal (Front End Content Management system) and Solr (Index) to create a best practices framework.  All of these described above are open source.
