Hello
I am currently studying toward my doctorate in computing and technology, and my research borders on Security, privacy and trust in IoT.
I am leaning towards the use of a decentralized model (Blockchain) as a solution to IoT, and aim to focus on Security and privacy.
At this moment, I cant seem to find a unique problem to address in this area that can lead to the award of a PhD.

The edge detection takes a wide interest in the field of digital image processing and computer vision, which is one of the basic stages in the process of patterns recognition and image segmentation. Quite an interesting article in the latest edition of Wired magazine which argues that we need to re-secure the blockchain. The article argues that hackers will use quantum computing technologies to hack supposedly unhackable blockchains and that the two technological forces must come together. Can you please add the link of article? This is going to be a reality one day when the quantum computing technology reaches to more active usage and relevant algorithms are developed. Most of the current encryption algorithms used in crypto technonology (for example RSA) is based on the unique multipliers principle of big numbers. I think everyone can guess the unique multipliers of number 6 is 3 and 2. However, how about a big number with 500 digits? Calculating the unique multipliers for this kind of big number is a challenging task for a regular (or a super) computer which can take hundreds of years. So it is mathematically possible, but practically impossible. That is one of the promises of quantum computing to handle today's impossible computational tasks of today within very short time (minutes, hours??). And solving the unique multipliers of RSA hashes of blockchain (or can be called "hacking") is one of the implementation area of many. I am not an quantum tech. expert, but my primitive guesses point me to the development of quantum resistant hashing algorithms and bringing a new "blockchain" into the world. Having said that, IOTA Tangle is referred with a quantum-resistant hashing algorithm already (though not sure whether really is).

Why most of the company reliable on JAVA in compare to .NET?

I don't think Java Platform is better than .Net. Java has been created before Microsoft .Net Framework and its languages (Visual Basic .Net, C#...). Originally, the key idea for Java was the ability to write one code for all the platforms of the market. Form the 90's, a lot of companies used it to develop their information systems. Java, or a "forked Java" is also used for creating Android Apps. That's why, according to the TIOBE Index, Java is the most used language by programmers (https://www.tiobe.com/tiobe-index/).
.Net is not worst, it is different. When it was lunched by Microsoft, it was only for Windows platforms and nothing else. At the beginning, that's probably the reason why it was not as popular as Java and probably suffered from the competition with it. Now Microsoft opened .Net the others platforms (Linux, OS X). It is not a bad platform but it is still no very popular. The choice between those two platforms depends on what you wand to do.

 This is a very broad question and the answer will relate to the context and the way technology is deployed. We know schools use technologies in different ways some positive and some negative. We also know that social class impacts of the way pupils apply digital technologies in an educational context.

I suspect that the real problem rests with the mismatch between two specific technologies. The first being the increasingly complex and powerful network of devices, connections and human actors which we call the 'network society' which are profoundly challenging our notion of knowledge, it's structure and worth.
Secondly we have the technology of the school with its physical and conceptual structures, roles, explicit and implicit purposes.
T2 (the school) has great social and cultural inertia and it responds to technology by absorbing it on its own terms, turning it to its own purposes and using it to reinforce the status quo. T1 (digital technologies) are changing and recombining rapidly and in a manner which is not controlled or controllable.
When T1 and T2 are forced together they are like two cogs of differing tooth sizes grinding together......like a 1930's motorcar gearbox :-)

I taught beginning, intermediate and advanced programming for several years and one flaw that I have seen during this time is trying to isolate learning by modules. While module assessment is useful for learning, programming progresses in an incremental fashion. My approach was to have the evaluations divided into module(had to do it because of departmental requisites), module comprehension on top of previous material and problem solving and troubleshooting sections. At the end of each course (even introduction to programming) the students needed to hand in a project of complexity commensurate to the course level.
I have found from working in the industry that graduates who come seeking work based on module based programming learning to come with huge deficiencies in understanding problem solving. They know the syntax but do not know how to solve problems.

Well - I have developed a number of scales -  You are welcome to peruse and take anything that you might find helpful  You can modify them for "classroom practice".  It's actually quite a good idea.  I recommend the Azjen & Fisgenin - Affective, Cognitive, Behavioural approach - it's pretty  robust (see Attitude papers in link.  I would also encourage you to look at evidence-based pedagogy and merge it with your scale.  The focus should problem be attitude toward pedagogy and ICT - not just ICT use per se.

I have read that Cost parameter is independent of kernel used and depends on training data. After performing parameter selection for RBF, I get the best combination of 'c' and Gamma 'g'. @Prajapati, you are absolutely right about the frequency of processor but frequency is not the only thing for high performance computing. The old generation processors were not capable to did such high performance as we are getting today. The reason is the CPU IDLE TIME. Old processor were stayed in sleeping mode in most of the processing time because we have one powerful CORE but not relevant components. Just for overcome those problems engineers developed MULTI-CORE processors and they also increased CPU Cache for high performance.
Now the second point is feasibility. With high speed processors we always have overheating problem and for the same problem Intel dropped it's one of the most enthusiastic project. They were failed to overcome the overheating problem. You can get the information even on google.com.
And the last issue is high battery usage. High speed processors consuming high battery power. That's why if you see engineering behavior of last few years, the engineers are focusing on developing low power processors with same speed and performance. The best example is Intel's latest processor Haswell.

I boot many x86 OSes on my test machine at home. These include Windows, BeOS, multiple distros of Linux, and QNX. I have found GAG (http://gag.sourceforge.net/) to be the easiest to use. being graphical makes it even easier.
