Questions related to Case Reports
I am looking for a journal which indexed, high response and fast publication in the field of "Facility Management & Management Systems" in Healthcare.
I have three drafts on:
- Development of a diagnostic tool for Facility Management System in the health sector.
- Case study of the diagnosis of a Facility Management System in a Colombian hospital.
- Development of a hospital infrastructure management model based on Facility Management System harmonized with Colombian and international health quality standards.
Kindly, share your experience and recommendations.
Thank you and greetings.

Although I managed to get explanative documentation from Thermocalc and Computherm (Pandat), it is more like a case study rather than a complete explanation.
Recently, I've conceived a research idea to conduct a case study evaluating the performance of lecturers from two or three faculties at my university. The data will be sourced from the academic papers produced by each lecturer, aiming to gauge their significance. However, a pivotal question arises: how can their meaningfulness be effectively evaluated?
I've always strongly believed that much of the research in my faculty might be lacking in practical applicability, not sufficiently serving societal or student needs. However, establishing this belief on a solid, objective foundation poses a challenge.
My desire to pursue this research stems from noticing that many lecturers are perennially occupied. Despite their apparent busyness, I'm uncertain about the fruits of their labor, as tangible learning outcomes in students often seem elusive. Do you have any suggestions to address these observations into a scientific paper?
I'm preparing a systematic review of case studies of a particular topic, and interestingly, although I thought there were many articles on this topic (the concept is very rich but the application is very little explored), I found very few articles and most of the case studies are available as reports in gray resources. How do you think this can be addressed in an review article?
Thank you in advance
How can I train an ANN using current raster data (population, precipitation, DEM, land use) and use this model to predict future land use based on upcoming raster data (population, precipitation, temperature)?
I've been studying the relevant theory extensively recently, and I'd like to find a case study to see how it's practically implemented. Could you please guide me to where I can find similar case studies? I've noticed that many papers follow this approach, but I'm struggling to locate any code examples.
If there are no case studies available, I'd like to understand how to use raster data as inputs for an ANN and what preprocessing steps are needed, especially when dealing with multiple raster data inputs.

Can anyone tell me how case study relate to longitudinal study in the following case:
- analysis of a single-case study over two period of time (period 2013-2017 vs. 2018-2022) Over the first period --> no IV introduced, just see the DV at time = 0. Over the second period --> IV introduced, see how it impacts the DV at time +1, so the correlation between IV and DV.
This is a single-case study but it incorporates longitudinal study in it. Therefore, is it a case study, a longitudinal study or something else? I struggle to identify what is the 'good term' to define this research design.
(I apologize for the lack of clarity - I am a master student and still learning about qualitative research methods)
Hello all, appreciate your help as it is much needed. I am trying to understand whether my thesis should be a research paper or a case study. I want to study the effects of disruptive events of global supply chains and then focus on the retrospective of one company. Is this automatically a case study, or can I follow the structure of a research with literature review on the overall problem and then focus on interviewing points of contact of said company to gather my findings and propose a management model to help the company respond to disruption in the supply chain?

Dear fellow researchers,
I am currently writing a paper in cooperation with a company. For this, I want to compare a proceass of this "main" company with the same process of several other companies through interviews.
1) Define an envisioned process with literature
2) Check how the process looks like currently in different companies
3) Cross-analysis, Gap analysis to literature and Impliciations for the "main company"
Do you know any similar papers that I could take a look at or do you have any suggestions on how to scientifically build this research approach?
Thank you for any recommendation!

My paper addresses the question: to what extent have women meaningfully participated in the official peace process in Yemen since 2015? The academic peace studies literature has shown that women’s meaningful participation in formal peace negotiations is one of the main components of the Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, yet 22 years after Resolution 1325, it remains one of the least advanced areas. This dissertation examines the case study of Yemen, through semi-structured interviews with eight professionals working to support women’s participation in Yemeni peace negotiations. The research uses a theoretical framework of inclusive peace and women’s meaningful participation, informed by Paffenholz (2018) and O’Reilly, Súilleabháin and Paffenholz (2015). This paper analyses of the application of international instruments to advance the presence and meaningful participation of Yemeni women in the United Nations (UN)-led peace efforts since 2015. It finds that, despite the leadership of the UN, efforts by the international community and the normative focus on WPS, women’s inclusion has been superficial and Yemeni women are still far from having a significant influence in the high-level peace process. There is a need to advance the application of the mechanism of women’s meaningful participation in the Yemeni context to ensure that women are elevated to the highest levels of decision-making, and that gender provisions are included in peace agreements and subsequent stages of reformulating the constitution and political settlements.
Hello:) I would like to ask for the communities opinion. I am currently starting with the master thesis and I am a bit unsure regarding the feasibilty of my topic and research method, thus would highly appreciate some opinions. I would like to research the influence of government actions on CSR practices in CBRE Australia. My question would be when doing a single case study how do I justify the generalizability of the study or is it better do a multiple case study? Furthermore, is it possible to do only a document analysis when doing a case study or rather an interview when doing a master thesis? Thank you in advance.
I am examining whether sex and religion of a defendant may impact their percieved guilt, risk, possibility of rehabilitation and the harshness of sentencing. I have done this by creating 4 different case studies in which a defendant has differing sex and religion and was suspected of committing a crime. There were 200 participants in which 50 each where given one of the 4 case studies. Participants would then have to answer a number of questions about the case study such as "what sentence do you think is fair?" All data is ordinal. Ive been advised to used different statisical analysis so im confused and would like some advice on which one to use

I am attempting to conduct a SR with a meta-analysis on a cardiology condition that is not often reported. There are a few retrospective studies, but many more case reports / case series. Based off my cursory search online, the answer to my question I believe is yes, but I wanted to make sure before I embark on this project.
I suspect there will be quite a lot of heterogeneity in my patient population.

I am considering publishing a Case Study report on Cross-cultural and Comparative Analysis of Leadership Styles on Australia and Bangladesh in an international open-access journal for international business. I had received a high distinction for this report in my MCom program at an Australian university. I would like to ask you all about the possible format of the report for publication, I would like to ask for your recommendation on the matter.
I wrote the report focusing on Comparative and cross-cultural leadership styles between Bangladesh and Australia. The two cultural models I chose were Hoffsteid and Globe study.
Since the report was written in the Case Study format and most international journals use the traditional journal article format, do you think it would be better to reformat the report into a traditional journal article format (Intro, Lit. Review, Rationale, Research Methods, Main Body, Findings, Conclusion, and Recommendations)?
Or do you think there is scope for publishing it in a Case Study format? I know Case Study articles are popular in Medical journals, but not sure if there are any Case Study international journals in the fields of international business and management.
Please let me know your opinion at your earliest convenience.
I plan to collect data using a mixed - method approach a) case studies in six schools, including interviews and observations of both leaders and teachers), and at the same time, b) I will send a questionnaire to a random sample of leaders and teachers in the city, in order to carry out the concurrent triangulation design. My question is, "How can Ian describe my research methodology?" Can I use case studies with survey methodology, or case studies and descriptive questionnaires? s)
Thank you for your assistance.
Firstly, You can either choose America or Nigeria as the case study.. stating a contemporary or current examples of any of these two countries using either State level of analysis,Individual or International level of analysis.

CABI has recently launched a new OA journal called CABI One Health, and a database of One Health Cases, both edited by Jakob Zinsstag from the Swiss TPH.
Our One Health resources aim to highlight how a transdisciplinary approach, combining academic and non-academic, practical, local or indigenous knowledge in the research process, has helped to co-produce transformational knowledge that leads to practical solutions, and increased the research’s relevance to society. Typically, there is incremental knowledge and information generated that could not have been produced by the academic scientists alone.
But it seems that there is a lot of confusion about transdisciplinarity means in a One Health setting. I am very curious to gain feedback on whether this concept is well understood, and if not, how we can help to gain consensus.
For my master thesis I am currently designing a single case study. Due to the limited size of the case organisation the case study will be of qualitative nature.
The purpose of the single case study research is to test/verify whether an existing, generic theory is applicable to the case study context based on qualitative research and based on the findings, conclude suitability for the case context and possibly come up with alterations to the existing framework.
I am stuck on two parts:
First, what would be an adequate case study method for the purpose of this research? I've read about Grounded Theory which assumes the researcher starts without a theoretical concept or framework and also about theory-testing using qualitative case studies. But neither seems to be directly applicable to my research needs.
Second, I have not been able to find a process, grounded in literature to approach framework testing/verification using qualitative methods. I find it odd that I can find no books or other literature that breaks down the process of steps (for example, by designing an interview/interview questions based on variables in an existing framework).
I am doing a case study of installing 'on grid solar system in ksa'.. How can I get Hourly Global horizontal irradiation Data of my location? I need that in order to calculate the real output of the solar system if i install it in my home... Thank you all
Recently I found that one of my rare cases, diagnosed and treated by myself, has been published as a case report by a group of junior doctors who are neither involved in diagnosis nor treatment without my consent. Even these people are not affiliated with the hospital where treatment was done. Also, the first author's affiliation is different from the corresponding author's affiliations, and the corresponding author is an MBBS third-year student. I confirmed this case was treated by me through one of the co-authors. I informed them about the possible conflict of interest, unfortunately, they took it casually and did not respond to me well. In this case, how can I proceed further? I don't want to ruin their academic career, but I want them to learn the lesson about research and academic misconduct.
Expecting your suggestion and help
My account at Twitter has been suspended because I shared official US Government information, posted by another user that I found when searching on a topic.
I was not given the option of hiding or even deleting the item, which showed a case reported to VAERS of a young child who died during a COVID19 vaccine trial.
The record contained clinical information that suggests it was lodged by a medical professional.
I would be interested to hear from other researchers who have had their social media accounts locked, suspended or terminated.
I'm writing a manuscript concerning a systematic review of case reports of a specific lesion.
Is it possible to include records in any form say short communications, letters, and governmental reports or case reports without an available full text or abstract in a systematic review based on their title only? If possible, then wouldn't it contrast with the guidelines suggested by PRISMA? Are there any other guidelines suitable for this purpose?
Due to the rarity of the concerned REPORTS in our study, the inclusion criteria are flexible and any RECORDS would be of value.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I am looking for case studies (Italian and European) and collaborations with colleagues in the area of the case study. If you know of any cases in your country please contact me and let's work together on the development of a research project I am developing.
I have a question concerning how to classify this research approach. Let me give you the context:
A couple of colleagues and I found that a particular topic was showing itself to be particular tricky to teach in a classroom environment, thus we spent last year collecting literature on the topic and end up developing a theoretical framework for how to address the issue. We now plan to test our framework by implementing it in an undergrad classroom course that one of us is teaching.
Now here is the thing, we come from a social science background, and we intend to initially approach this effort qualitatively (through observation and semi structured interviews with participants). Thus, my initial reaction would be, from a methodological standpoint, to maybe call this a case study (see Yin, Merriam, Stake, etc.). However, considering that the person implementing the framework (and teaching the course) is also one of the researchers who developed it, can this still be called a case study? Or should it be considered something else? I've heard people suggest Action Research, Participatory Research, or event "a participant observer Case Study" but I'm not quite sure if this is quite it as well.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Obs.: we are well aware of potential bias, and depending on the results of this first phase we then might, later on, run this again, this time as a more controlled experiment, comparing the framework version classroom outcomes’, against the ones from a "non-framework" one.
I am looking for a value engineering case study, in manufacturing or construction. I want to see the application of value engineering in real world case studies.
I just want to know one very important thing is that. If I want to cite any statement that was stated by a scientist and mentioned in a researcher's article. How can I mention it in my own paper. Sometime I fall in dillemma in citing such things in my article. Lets have an example:
The impact of salinity on crop production as well as on aquaric environment is well documented(Karim et al.1990)
Above statement is written in the following article: Written by Syma Khanom and Mushfiq Salehin in their article named " Salinity Constrains to different water uses in coastal area of Bangladesh: A Case Study
So How can I write it in my review?
Can anyone suggest a methodology or the way to write a case study paper on self introspection? It mainly focuses on the sociology experiments with the behavioral pattern of an individual on specific topic and the individuals psychological experiences putting in to a paper.
Just wondering, has anyone seen a self-report case study? So, to be clear, what I'm looking for is a medical or treatment case report where one of the co-authors is the actual case.
Please let me know if you've come across such a thing and where.
Thanks so much in advance!
I am confused about choosing appropriate quality assessment tool for various types of studies I have taken for my current systematic review. Please help. Thanks
I am finding it hard to categorise my current research study as there are 4 participants and I am using an arts-based method, so I can't decide which method it is?
I conducted a qualitative single case study last semester. I have interviewed teachers and observed them in the classroom.
However, some participants did not consent to me observing their teaching. I have now 38 interviews and 32 observations.
Should I analyze the data collected from participants who did not allow the observation or disregard this data and continue with 32 interviews and 32 observations?
I searched the qual lit but could not find any info.
What do you suggest about this missing data?
Your responses are greatly appreciated.
