Questions related to Camping
Hypothetical:
I conduct a survey and ask the respondents to answer a yes/no question "do you consider yourself to be an alcoholic". Their responses correlates with high/low averages on another measure "Qualities of Alcoholism" (QoA, e.g. yes=high, no=low). Most of the responses are in the 'no' camp. My questions are:
- Should I include everyone in the sample (yes and no's) if I'm comparing QoA to another measure (e.g. 'Effects of Drinking' scale) or should I just section out the 'yes' cases?
- What would the effects be on regression analyses if I took either approach?
What are the key elements of youth response to climate change as demonstrated through participation in Indigenous land-based camps, and how do these experiences contribute to environmental education and advocacy among Indigenous youth in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada?
Inspired from Youth response to climate change: Learning from Indigenous land-based camp at the Northern Saskatchewan Indigenous Communities, Canada.
I will also need the interpretation concerning the reference variable.
Hello everyone! I am new to this platform, I am looking for this book: "Bioquimica del estres Oxidativo" (Diego Camps, 2010)
I would like to know if anyone has it in digital format to share it with me. Waiting for a reply. Thank you very much!
Anyone who is familiar with the refugee crisis in Turkey and/or Lebanon in particular management of the camps located in Gaziantep, Hatay, Sanliurfa, Kahramanmaras, Osmaniye, Adiyaman, and Kilis, please reach out to me directly for connection and collaboration of information referencing the refugee crisis.
During flood, the people are shifted to Relief Camps on high lands, which are also also normally surrounded by flood water and the digging of pit latrine (temporary option) is very difficult due to less unsubmerged areas and high subsoil water level.
Also. the accessibility of existing options for the people living in higher floors (in case of multistoried RCC buildings) becomes an issue.
In such situation, what could be the best technological option to address the issue?
There are several LIPs around the world, but each has its own unique characteristics and external factors around it. Which are the most important to control the after effects and of colonization and why some with high distresses potential do not achieve the expected for the dimensions of these provinces (e.g. Deccan, Siberian Traps, CAMP, Karoo and PEMP).
Hi, I am seeking your help in finding an applicable tourism research topic, I am super interested in the field and application for Tented / Temporary / Hybrid Structures.
And I am currently thinking about the question of " Do temporary room structures offer potential to harvest peak demand?"
I am very interested in your opinion if you think that semi-temporary structures like Tented Camp´s can make a difference in the industry and will continue to trend in a post COVID world?
I am looking forward to the discussion
Hi everyone,
I am looking for suggestions to store biological samples in the field for endocrinology analyses, where I will not have electricity. One of the options we are evaluating is a solar freezer, which would be very useful also to cool down ice packs, that will be used together with a cooler box to transport samples from the field to where the camp is. On the other side, I am struggling to find a unit that can guarantee -20C and that looks resistant enough to humidity and heat (the campsite is in Kenya and there is always the possibility of some water too as the tents sometimes leak in case of heavy rain). The other option I am evaluating is liquid nitrogen. With liquid nitrogen tanks (ie 30 L), how many fecal samples (20 grams in cryovials) will I be able to store for about 2-3 weeks (after which the samples will be transferred to a major lab)? Is there any way to have a sort of ice packs to be cooled in the liquid nitrogen tank, to be used with the cooler box to transport the samples from the field to the camp?
Thank you for your help!
“If an outbreak were to happen, it would be close to impossible to contain,” Syrian-American activist Leena Zahia said.
She was speaking about the possibility of a Covid-19 epidemic in the refugee camps, both inside and outside Syria, that cumulatively house millions of people displaced by the civil war, a prospect that gives public health and aid workers nightmares these days. In the camp of Vial, on the Greek island of Chios, for example, more than 6,000 people are now crammed into a space intended for about 1,000.
The paucity of food in the refugee camps has led to an epidemic of malnourishment. There is a lack of basic sanitation, with far too few toilets and bathrooms. And there are next to no state-of-the-art medical supplies and very few doctors. In the camps in and around Syria, for example, Zahia estimates only 1.4 doctors for every 10,000 people.
It will be the most difficult one to control if it spreads among Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh where more than 8,60,000 stateless Rohingya refugees live in the world’s largest and most densely populated refugee camp, Kutupalong. About half of the refugees are children. Can you imagine what can be happened if the Corona outbreak is there?

If my research setting is a skin disease camp based on a village, how should I decide sample size? I can’t apply cross sectional study formula as it not population (but camp beneficiaries). In such case, shud I use quota sampling or convenient sampling?
Quota because the beneficiaries are already skin disease patient only
(Please put some light on this)
Thanks in advance.
Just this week, I noted two cases of extreme mange in coyotes in my research area. Coincidentally, I had camped out by a cattle trough in the area overnight in September and three days later both my dog and I had a bad case of Scabies, (same thing as mange).
Has anyone dealt with this in wildlife species? What organization do I contact with my findings?
I'd appreciate advice.
I have been devoted to the study and exploration of the causes of the formation of lip, especially the formation of ELIP, Dlip and slip provinces in Asia. Among them, I have found some interesting phenomena about the time correlation between meteorite impact and lip formation.
Obviously malnutrition is a major issue in the Rohingya refugee camps. What other health concerns are at the top of the list in terms of their threat to the communities?
I selected 200 samples from different medical camps to study the exposed population to Iron deficiency anemia, >50 were IDA positive. Rest was negative.I have used all samples to build a comparison study.
I am gearing up for my dissertation proposal and i am running into a bit of a snag with my research design and analysis of my data. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a study you may be familiar with, or provide some insight on how to use the scales most effectively. Essentially, here is my study: I want to study the impact exposure to a summer camp environment impacts a child's self report of resiliency. To do this, i am using focus groups to operationalize a summer camp experience and defining several "hallmarks" of camp. Then i'm going to create a scale measuring exposure to those hallmarks. Finally, i am going to pre-test/post-test campers before and after their first summer at camp looking for change in resiliency scores. I will be using the Resiliency Scales for Children and Adolescents which has several subscales and three indexes. I want to try and correlate exposure to camp elements to changes in various resiliency scores. Is there a correlation of having an incredible tent family and an increased sense of belonging? Is there a correlation between going on a ton of wilderness trips and decreased emotional reactivity? Etc. Etc. Factor analysis has been one idea, but i still have to work out the logistics as to how this would happen. I'm wondering if this is just several ANOVA's within one study or if there is a better approach to having multiple variables. Do you have any suggestions of research designs, or analysis strategies that you think would meet the vision of this study? I really appreciate your insight and support! Thanks so much!

Dear all!
I am currently into climate camps and I am looking for good literature. I alreday have Peter North, Aunders&Price and McGegor. I am specifically interested in literature conceptually approaching the camps with social movement theory.
Best wishes and thank you already,
Martin
In ancient Greece, hoplite gained Kleos, glory, by dying in battle. If they were so injured that they could no longer fight, they would not be named on their tomb, therefore gaining no kleos. What kind of reception did they have when they returned to the polis, alive but no more fighter? Did the psyche of the particular polis affect this reception? Comparing the democracy of Athens with the military camp mentality of Sparta.
Evening everyone i finally got an idea for my web based project so i thought of sharing it with you guys and collecting the feedback of my idea. So this is my idea...
I have planned to create a website for a medical care center/hospital which is capable of registering the patients and analyzing the data that is provided, it gives the report on what type of patients are getting registered to what medical care/diseases what i believe is that it might help health care center or a hospital in organizing different events or the medical camps and providing awareness on the specific subject using the report.
So this is my idea for my public health care and awareness project so please give some feedback for it or if you got any other idea share it with me so that i can implement in my project, say what to be done and what not to be, if anything wrong say me so that i can correct it. Thank you
I am looking for a reliable method for dating azoic sediments (conglomerates, sandstones and mudstones). they are triassic-Jurassic red sediments separated by the CAMP.
Dadaab hosts three bigger camps: namely Ifo Dagahaley and Hagadera all have over thousands school going children and need to be taught as the any other child in the world. how can we create more inclusive teaching without resettling them?
Do you know any recent studies on U.S. Department of State MOOC Camps?
I am currently completing a master's thesis about campsites and tourist accommodations in natural environments. I am looking for studies on the subject. Do you have some ideas?
