Economies of Scale is often linked with survival and sustainability. Yet, in most of the industry categories, there are organizations of all sizes. How is the dichotomy explained? Does it also mean that a start up should have some minimum level of resources? How to calculate such minimum level.
Any pointer/ literature support is highly appreciated.

I have often wondered if it is possible or recomended to teach business, management, marketing etc without practical experience of the subject. I have been a businessman for over 20 years, consultancy, transport, fiduciary and recruiting. I have had my ups and downs. I seen the positive and the negative and done things hands on. How ever if I look back at my former professors and lecturers I would say almost none of them had any experience and sometimes I felt in hindsight that they had no idea on how to connect theory and practice and to be critical. What are your thoughts?should hands on experience be mandatory in order to be allowed to teach a subject? I know this is a sensitive issue and be sure I ask this question with the greatest of respect. Are there ways of getting around the lack of experience? For me it seems difficult because a lecturer who has been in the game can provide another dimention compared to some one who never left academia. For me the difference is like playng football and watching football? Im sure there are great lecturers out there without experience of what they are teaching but what are your thoughts in general? Best regards Henrik
Does the development of data processing technology in Big Data database systems and other technologies developed in the field of technological revolution Industry 4.0 generate new business management concepts?
At present, in the age of the technological revolution known as the 4.0 industry, new technology management or Internet-based companies are emerging.
The technological revolution in recent years, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence.
Added to this is the development of data processing analytics in Business Intelligence enterprises, the development of life science technologies, biotechnology, eco-innovation, energy, medical intelligence, etc.
On the basis of the development of the new technological solutions mentioned in recent years, the processes of innovatively organized analyzes of large information collections gathered in Big Data database systems dynamically develop.
In the context of this problem, many questions arise:
What other technological improvements, innovative organizational, technical and IT solutions will be developed in the future based on the development of the above-mentioned factors?
What kinds of innovations will be able to be created in the coming years, in the future based on the integration of the above-mentioned main determinants of the development of the current technological revolution known as Industry 4.0?
What kind of new categories of added value may be created in the future if the above-mentioned technological solutions are more involved in the creation of biotechnological, ecological, product and other innovations.
Will new technologies be created in this way, with the help of which it will be possible to generate solutions to the problems of excessive exploitation of Earth resources in the process of civilization development?
Do business management processes play a particularly important role in the context of the effective functioning of business entities in currently developing economies based on knowledge, information and technology?
Is e-management a new concept of managing virtual enterprises or rather managing online technology companies?
Are new management concepts of innovative enterprises and start-ups based mainly on knowledge, information, entrepreneurship and creation of innovations?
Does the development of data processing technology in Big Data database systems and other technologies developed in the field of technological revolution Industry 4.0 generates the emergence of new business management concepts?

I am actually working in a project: 'AI and inter-enterprise networking enhancement', and i need some more recent info concerned with the developments in the field of AI utilisation in Business Processes.
Can anybody give some suggestions/recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
Dear all. It is not often I start a discussion without some contextualisation but this time I do because perhaps it might be more interesting if people can freely discuss without initial guidance at least :-) . How do you view the future of research in to IB in terms of streams? Trends ? new theories on the horizon etc? What is your opinion? The word is free!
Best wishes Henrik
I am currently working on my dissertation of understanding intercultural challenges in Key Account Management (Global Account Management). Is there any literature in KAM available integrating intercultural challenges. Any recommendations for a quantitative method to analyze intercultural challenges in GAM.
I am writing a book on interactive platforms (or a case of 2 sided markets). An example is Facebook (sorry there are many definitions of PLATFORM. Just to be clear).
The point is that understanding users and their motivations to grow the network and generate a network effect it could be useful to have an understanding of users motivations: either as "generators of value or content" or as "consumer of value or content".
Any comments? Regards
In today's world, it is essential to achieve sustainability, and different industries can play a key role in achieving this. Now, here are some questions to clarify their status quo:
Can we say that different industries are successful in achieving this goal? Or are their sustainability plans just decorative?
And the most important questions are:
What is your opinion about the current situation of industries in terms of sustainability? Do you have any suggestions for improving sustainability in these networks?
Is digital marketing (DM) effective to bring more business to organizations ? What %age hike do you expect through digital marketing ?
What kind of innovative start-ups are financed through crowdfunding?

Dear Colleagues! As far as, from your point of view, it is possible (and justified) to implement the concept of Life Long Learning in a professional academic career by completely withdrawing from a successful scientific (teaching) activity, including with a defended doctoral thesis activity in a professional business activity (possibly with a corresponding new education / degree), not connected in any way with research and teaching activities? Do you know and can you give examples of such personal career development?
What is the difference between social networks and business networks and their importance in business contexts?
Is the synergy and interdependence between the development of analytics conducted in Business Intelligence applications and the processing of data in the cloud in the Big Data database systems increased?
Currently, the amount of information collected in Big Data database systems is growing very fast.
Many companies that have their own Big Data database systems containing huge amounts of information downloaded from the Internet carry out analyzes of these data, the results of which are used in business management.
Many companies use these resources to manage their business. When processing information in the cloud, ie information collected in Big Data systems, the sentiment analysis uses the results of the analytical work carried out in this way for the strategic management of the company.
In view of the above, I am asking you: Is the synergy and interdependence between the development of analytics conducted in Business Intelligence applications and data processing in the cloud in the Big Data database systems increasing?
Please reply.
I invite you to the discussion

Are there any ongoing work to implement artificial intelligence for the analysis processes of large collections of information collected in Big Data database systems?
Business entity management processes are more and more often supported by computerized Business Intelligence platforms that facilitate multi-criteria analysis and reporting.
Probably in the future, the business analyst will be supported by artificial intelligence.
It would be a great advance in the field of automation and objectification of multi-criteria economic analyzes of business entities.
Complex, multi-criteria analyzes regarding the verification of large companies' operations require aggregation and analytical processing of large data sets in Big Data database systems.
However, in what direction will technological progress be realized in this field?
In the future, as part of the progressing computerization of analytical processes, it will be possible to implement artificial intelligence to the processes of analyzing large collections of information collected in Big Data database systems.
In view of the above, I am asking you: Are there any ongoing works to implement artificial intelligence to the processes of analyzing large collections of information collected in Big Data database systems?
Please, answer, comments. I invite you to the discussion.

Will the development of these technologies of processing large data sets improve the lives of people on Earth?
The future of the development of artificial intelligence applications in analytics based on Big Data, Business Intelligence and integrated risk management processes
In my opinion, the development of artificial intelligence applications in analytics based on Big Data, Business Intelligence and integrated risk management processes can be divided into two stages:
1. Development of Big Data database technologies and their applications. This process is already underway.
2. The development of artificial intelligence applications in analytics based on Big Data, Business Intelligence and integrated risk management processes. This stage is just beginning.
Ad. 1.
Big Data database technologies find more and more applications in business analytics, in Business Intelligence, in marketing analysis, in consumer preferences research, sentiment analysis based on comments on online portals, including social media. However, how will this Big Data analytics development look like in the future? This is determined by many factors regarding various issues, including the security of transfer and processing of data contained on the Internet, technological progress of data processing, information and marketing policy of online technology companies, including companies that manage leading social media portals, etc. Add analytical capabilities conducted research on the development of Big Data technology, the potential for using Big Data for industrial espionage, cybercrime and for maintaining information security and information systems by national and supranational security services to combat cybercrime, international money laundering transactions, transfer money to tax havens , terrorism, inducing destabilization in capital markets, etc. In this regard, an "arms race" will be the formats employed in the development of Big Data technology, employed on the one hand by legally operating companies, financial institutions, including banks and security services and hackers employed by criminal organizations who will continue to break into company information systems, banks and agencies by creating new cybercrime techniques government. This "arms race" is endless and is probably one of the key determinants of technological progress that is taking place on the Internet, including Big Data technologies.
Ad. 2.
The conducted research shows that the development of artificial intelligence applications in analytics based on Big Data, Business Intelligence and integrated risk management processes is only at the initial stage of development. What will be the final effects of this development? What will be the limits of this technological development? Currently, it is not easy to get it out. It is impossible to rule out many theories that currently find their use, for example in the science fiction films about the development of robotics, intelligent internet platforms or artificial intelligence systems that manage buildings, logistics of information systems, logistics of vehicle information systems and spacecraft. One of the first such visions was filmed in 1968 directed by Stanley Kubrick: "2001: A Space Odyssey". Since 1968, we have already divided a period of high technological progress in the development of information systems, the Internet, database technologies, data processing and artificial intelligence.
Will the development of artificial intelligence materialize future catastrophic visions from "Terminator" films dir. James Cameron from 1984, trilogy "Matrix" (1999-2003) dir. Lana and Lilly Wachowski, "Niepamięć" from 2013 dir. Joseph Kosinski or "Transcendence" from 2014 dir. Wally Pfister or rather much more positive visions presented in films such as "Artificial Intelligence: AI" from 2001 dir. Steven Spielberg, "Interstellar" from 2014 dir. Christopher Nolan, "The Martian" from 2015 dir. Ridley Scott or "Passengers" from 2016 dir. Morten Tyldum?
Current technological capabilities allow for the creation of new, potential uses of artificial intelligence in the processes of managing complex organizational structures of enterprises, communication processes, in decision-making processes requiring rapid processing of large amounts of information, in processes that a person without current information technology would not be able to implement . However, an open question still remains: will the effects of these new applications of developed artificial intelligence systems improve people's lives on planet Earth? Is it too late for that? Will humanity not lead to ecological catastrophe, use of non-renewable resources, energy, clean water resources and irreversible degradation of the natural environment, failure to maintain the greenhouse effect, melting of glaciers and generating new, more powerful global climate cataclysms and volcanic eruptions? Will the development of artificial intelligence, Big Data technology and integrated risk management systems alleviate at least significantly these unfavorable processes of environmental degradation?
Will the development of these information, IT, Internet technologies, processing and analytics of large data sets help to find solutions to these problems of negative external effects of civilization on Earth, external effects that may seriously threaten humanity in the 21st century on the increasingly exploited, devastated and polluted earth?
I am currently commencing research projects in this area and I invite you to cooperation.

I'm looking for information on best practices in tourism used in megacities that are broadly recognized tourist destinations. Any recent data (both qualitative& quntitative) on tourist services and products offered by the city; tourist ifrastructure; tourist attractions and routes; information support for tourism; city brand promotion; networking and stakeholder relationships (investors, public and non-profit organizations, volunteers, sponsors, commercial partners, experts); interaction between tourists and local communities; ensuring the safety of tourists; KPI used by city administrations, etc.
Is there any system of criteria for best practices in this field?
Supply Chains are now explained as Supply Networks (or in many cases as Value Chains) I am seeking for specific literature which explains the transition from Traditional Supply Chains to Supply Networks, and lately to Value Chains, eventually to Value Networks.
I'm looking for some real life examples of Small and Medium Enterprises that have successfully adopted cloud computing.
Mergers are entered into mainly because of gaining of synergies. But there is no guarantee that every merger will be successful. I want to know the relationship between Value Creation and Mergers.
I'm need some information about how to examine the influence of trust elements on business relationship outcomes?
Thanks a lot
What do you think about it? If yes, how should we interpret that measures, ie. betweenness, closeness, eigenvector, transitivity, clustering coefficient, small world effect, etc.

Based on a large corpus of literature (e.g. Edgar M. Hoover, Frank Giarratani, Erik Dahmen, Stan Czamanski to name just a few), we can argue that industrial cluster is an a-spatial (a-territorial) phenomenon. Yet there are as many publications that prove the opposite. What do you think? Please provide your own judgment.
I´m developing a way to increase the value of a business network. Therefore you first need to know which other companies could be interesting to support the network reaching its goals.
Are there methods available or is this first step conducted in a more general way? So to say, that you define the goals, look what your company can contribute and identify the actions/values, which your company isn´t able to provide. And after this your looking out for companies, which can complete them.
Thank you in advance.
Moore(1993) suggests that scholars replace the word "industry" by the word "ecosystem". It has a more complex meaning. So I want to launch a study about the transformation of some specific business ecosystem.
It needs to be assessing whether my belief that I trust you, or you trust me converges with the actual trust you have in me. Is there a gap between perceptions/beliefs and reality. In other words, if we want to know we are successful in making sure that others trust us, how do we know that they trust us sufficiently?
Maybe the question isn't well asked. I can't find any research on it. Thanks!
What are the factors one needs to consider when planning to do business in any country of interest? For instance: GDP, Political Stability, and so on.
