Question

**Personal Background**: I got a PhD degree from Electrical Engineering at Peking University, currently a postdoc in the U.S., and preparing to pursue a faculty position. I have published 4 first-author conference/journal papers (with IF>8, CCF-A), 2 are under review, and 2 are in the implementation stage. I have led multiple successful tape-outs, with 28nm technology and designs involving millions of transistors. I have modest expectations – I’m not a big shot, just looking to make progress.
**Target Collaborators**: Peers, undergraduates, master’s students, or PhD students. Undergraduates are particularly welcome.
**Research Situation**: I have many mature ideas and solutions that lack the manpower for implementation. These are not just purely algorithmic, far-fetched ideas but are combined with hardware and can demonstrate real results, with a high probability of success. Specifically, the work involves optimizing existing implementations, requiring either training network algorithms or writing hardware modules, with a high likelihood of resulting in strong publications. Alternatively, I already have hardware and need to explore its application scenarios.
**What I Offer**: Co-authorship (with order based on contribution), along with soft support such as research guidance, AI algorithms, hardware implementation, chip tape-out mentoring, recommendations for further education, etc.
**What You Should Offer**: Most importantly, sufficient time to carry out the work (estimated at three months, with an average of 3 hours per day). Secondly, you should have a basic programming foundation or Verilog hardware background, or enjoy conducting research. Ideally, you should not be affiliated with a specific advisor.
Serious inquiries only, thanks.
If convenient, please send your resume for review. Personal information can be omitted.

My article has been claimed by the same name (Panpan Pan,another account) from Peking University, which makes it impossible for me to claim my article to my repository, please help me to deal with it. Thank you.
Relevant answer
Answer
See "Another researcher has claimed my publications" in https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14292798510993 for instructions how to correct this. But unlike this help page suggests, most probably it was not the other author herself who wrongly claimed authorship, but ResearchGate's automatic algorithm wrongly identified her as the author and assigned your publication to her profile. This is a frequent problem in ResearchGate in case of similar names.

I am a current doctoral student at Beijing Forestry University in the School of Ecology and Nature Conservation. My research focuses on the impact of climate change on avian responses and wetland habitat dynamics. More specifically, Water Birds Responses to Climate Variables in CuiHu Urban Wetland: A Comprehensive Study of Wetland Bird Communities and Habitat Dynamics It's in the design phase now. I am having some issues now, and I need your support.
1. I do not have bird population data for the last few years. But I have a checklist of birds for the last few years of my study site. How can I investigate the impact of climate change on the bird population in the wetland? Is there any other way? I want to show the relationship between bird diversity and abundance with climate variables.
2. What are the easiest methods to investigate submersible vegetation and sampling to determine the biomass?
Relevant answer
It's easier to do bird counts and species identification on pristine versus damaged vegetation areas and then assess the effects of disturbance, which can be a proxy for possible climate change. With submersible vegetation, you will have to obtain samples, which might mean diving and also obtaining the roots for biomass calculations :)

Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The growing need for food production through sustainable cultivation practices, without reducing crop yield and producer income, is a major objective due to increased environmental pollution and the gradual degradation of cultivated soils. Various compounds with bioactive properties can be utilized as biostimulants to boost plant growth and development under normal and stressful conditions. So far, six distinct categories of biostimulants have been recognized, including microbial inoculants; humic substances, such as humic and fulvic acids; protein hydrolysates and amino acids; biopolymers; inorganic compounds; and seaweed extracts, all of which are commercially available with wide applications in agriculture. The most important biostimulant effects on crops are the acceleration of crop establishment, the improvement in nutrient uptake and nutrients use efficiency, the induction of tolerance to biotic and abiotic stressors, the improvement in seed germination, the increase in shelf life of perishable products, the reduction in nutrients leaching, the improvement in root development, the removal of heavy metals from contaminated soils, the improvement in crop performance, the stimulation of the immune system of plants, the improvement in visual quality of final products, and the induction of the biosynthesis of plant defensive biomolecules. Different classification approaches have been suggested so far, based either on the origin of each biostimulant, such as biological or non-biological, microbial and non-microbial, or on the mode of action which divides biostimulants into phytohormonal and non-phytohormonal ones.
This Special Issue focuses on the roles and functions of different types of biostimulants on different agricultural and horticultural crops within the framework of sustainable crop management, aiming to gather critical and important information regarding their positive effects on plant growth and final yield, as well as their impacts on the quality of the final product. Furthermore, the major limitations of these practices as well as the future prospects of biostimulant studies will be presented.

I am a newbie in ArcGIS Pro. I need to find travel time between different countries (e.g. Beijing to Paris, Beijing to Bangkok, etc...) in different years (2010, 2011, 2012, etc.)
Can you advise which layer (World Street Map?) is most suitable for this purpose? In particular, I have two difficulties:
1. Is it possible to find past map data to find past routes?
2. Instead of searching the route one-by-one, is there a convenient way to find all country-pair routes easily?
Thank you.

The U.S. and China signed the first phase of a broader trade pact recently. The deal commits China to do more to crack down on the theft of American technology and corporate secrets by its companies and state entities, while outlining a $200 billion spending spree to try to close its trade imbalance with the U.S. It also binds Beijing to avoiding currency manipulation to gain an advantage and includes an enforcement system to ensure promises are kept. Meanwhile, the U.S. will maintain tariffs on roughly two-thirds of imports from China, something that President Trump said was essential as leverage over China until it agreed to further reforms. Who benefits most - the world economy, the US, China or developing economies?
Relevant answer
Answer
It is difficult to see that anyone benefits. Ultimately the trade tariffs are paid by the consumers of the nation imposing them who pay higher prices for the imported goods so the US will not benefit. They operate as an inhibitor of trade so Chinese manufacturers do not benefit. Their effect is dependent on the balance of market supply and demand at any given time. It would be very surprising (to use a hypothetical example) if the US placed a tariff on a Chinese developed vaccination against COVID-19.

Researchers in China have found that two different types of the new coronavirus could be causing infections worldwide.
In a preliminary study published Tuesday, scientists at Peking University's School of Life Sciences and the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai found that a more aggressive type of the new coronavirus had accounted for roughly 70% of analyzed strains, while 30% had been linked to a less aggressive type.
The more aggressive type of virus was found to be prevalent in the early stages of the outbreak in Wuhan — the Chinese city where COVID-19 was first detected late last year.
But the frequency of this type of virus has since decreased from early January.

The new highway, expected to be one of many, will run between Beijing and the Xiongan New Area in the Hebei province, FutureCar reports. There, a new 62-mile stretch of freeway will have two lanes dedicated to autonomous vehicles (AVs). The idea is that the infrastructure investment will give AVs access to real-world traffic conditions — but also that the separate lanes will ensure that the still-limited AV tech is tested in a way that minimizes risk for human drivers.
Will these dedicated lanes do good or harm to the safety or mobility efficiency of the freeway?
Relevant answer
Answer
Seems like a good idea. If the operation of the AVs is hugely successful, they could be integrated with the general vehicles. If it's not successful at all, the lanes could be converted to general vehicle lanes at little cost. In the process we will all increase our knowledge of the risk associated with the operation of AVs.
