Questions related to Administrative Personnel
Most of the researchers are also students, teachers, administrators and cooperate responsibility holders. Stress related to work is quite frequent.
1. How do you deal with it?
2. Are your methods helpful?
3. Have any of your colleagues, family or friends identified it and reached out to you?
The roles played by administrative/secretarial staff seem to duplicating in organisations. There is the need for such roles to be defined.
Support service departments or offices in a university are usually comprised of administrative office, student affairs, IT, admissions, etc. With and without them, a difference can be made. What do you think?
Question for discussion: Why is collaborative support important in the success of teaching and learning in higher education?
The advancement in technology has changed the scheme of things, especially, tourism sector. What are the likely implications of virtual reality (VR) in the sector, given that, the technology has come to stay?
Moreover, VR appeals to tourism marketer and promoters, what other values are inherent in the technology, especially, when applied in ecotourism sector?
Understanding the pros and cons associated with VR in ecotourism will be invaluable to tourism scholars and policy makers.
Secondly, there is limited literature from global south concerning VR and tourism, meanwhile, its uses and advancement seems a common feature in Europe. Why is Africa lacking behind in VR literature and application in tourism?
Ideas concerning VR and ecotourism are welcomed.
Recently we purchased some NSG mice from JAX lab (#005557) to establish an orthotopic lung tumor model by intratracheal injection. However, we came across some enigmatic issues in tumor development.
Our study has 2 cohorts (7 mice in each cohort), and those mice received luciferase+ A549 cells through intratracheal cell administration. After the cell administration, the mice were monitored under the IVIS system, and the bioluminescence signal indicated successful cell delivery. Subsequently, the mice underwent regular weekly IVIS imaging to monitor tumor development. As expected, some cells will die after the injection, and we confirmed the cell loss by reduced luciferase activity. Then, during the following 2 months, 5 mice kept showing negative signals all the time, but the rest mice developed tumors. So, we paused the IVIS monitoring and kept the mice for 1 more month, followed by an autopsy.
To our surprise, all 5 mice showing negative luciferase activities developed tumors, and some were quite large. We are confused why the tumors were not developed in the first 2 months but rapidly grew in the last month.
We are aware that if we take batch imaging, the mice with larger tumors will display strong signals, which can make the mice with sporadic tumors show negative signals. So we also took the images individually but still didn't see any luciferase activity.
Are there any possible reasons? NSG mice have functional neutrophils and partially functional monocytes. Could these cells suppress the tumor cell proliferation at the monitoring window?
I truly appreciate your answers.
We are currently observing the in vivo environment of mice at different glucose levels and
For this reason, we are currently measuring blood glucose levels in mice that have been administered anesthesia beforehand and treated with an open abdomen.
When we perform the laparotomy, we inject 30% glucose through a needle into the stomach of the mice.
However, the blood glucose level did not rise at all even after waiting 30 minutes after administration, and the mice died during the procedure after being warmed up to the 38°C range with a heater.
We are looking for a way to raise the blood glucose level in order to finally observe the glucose uptake in the pancreas, but do you have any good ideas on how to administer it?
Incidentally, we are currently considering direct glucose administration via tail vein, but no one has tried it and we are still in the consideration stage.
If a government agency contracts for and establishes an administrative AI system that makes errors, should the government be liable in tort for those errors?
Hello I have to calculate the volume in ml to be administered to a mouse.
Here are my data available:
Resovist agent in concentration 0.5 mol Fe / L
Experimental dose 50 umol / Kg
Mouse weight 25 g
What is the volume in ml to be administered to the mouse?
Can you show me the process, please?
Which is the best substance containing a combination of THC and CBD for administration in animal models of global cerebral ischemia?
Hey friends, I am trying to conduct research on the effects of intraperitoneal administration of cannabinoids (THS: CBD) on an animal model of cerebral ischemia as part of my graduate thesis. During my studies, I have come across some questions, particularly about which substance to use to do the most effective research. I hope that these questions can be answered here.
As a matter of fact, I noticed that the drug Sativex (Nabiximols) contains THC and CBD in a 1:1 ratio, so will it be a good choice for a project as I mentioned above?
On the other hand, I think about the use of herbal extract honestly, I am not sure if it is a good idea or not?
I will also be so grateful for any other suggestions.
I am looking if it does exist stantardzed names to call the different administrative level of a country.
So I can classify for different countries relative information according to the administrative level.
According to my knowledge, I have the following sequence : National > regional > province > district >subdistrict. I could not find the reference/origin. I implicitly thought it was ubiquitous, but still, I could not find clear definition of each level to share with some one other.
Do you have any reference for those level, or any other reference name and document I could use ?
Would you analyze the impact of administrative leadership in higher education institutions in the light of the technological progress and political changes in the Arab societies?
STZ is generally used to induce type 1 diabetes mellitus by intraperitoneal or intravenous injection at a dose of 45 to 65 mg/kg depending on the route of administration.
It seems that nicotinamide combined with STZ induces type 2 diabetes mellitus. If possible, I would like someone to enlighten me on this induction mechanism.
Certain critical theories have informed government policy formulation and implementation in higher education. An examination of the appropriateness and limitations of these theories is valuable to education policy makers and education managers who implement the policy.
Individual, Organizational and Societal Factors of WLB impact on Job Performance of the academic and administrative heads of the universities in Sri Lanka. However Environmental factors of WLB did not significantly impact Job Performance of the academic and administrative heads of the universities in Sri Lanka. What may be the reason?
please comment on your own view in this regards.
I have created a mental health measurement that is designed to be more accurate in assessing an international group of Asian people when compared to an assessment that has been created and standardized on a western population.
I have run a large group of said group through an administration of the test that we have created and an assessment that was created in the west. We have good realiability btween the two tests on the overall score. However, the sub tests that are quite different, because they are measuring divergent sub constructs definitely do not correlate with the sub scales of the established western test.
A confirmatory factor analysis has conformed a very good fit for this new test CFI=.925 and
a RMSEA .0990 (.0890 - 0.109)90%CI, ...AIC 6146 and BIC 6362. with a population from this country.
However, the The Western based test goodness of fit tests for the same subject are: CFI=0.856, RMSEA .0679 (.0522-.0825) 905CI, ....AIC 6146 BIC 6362.
My question is: Can this relative poor fit among these subjects be a demonstration of divergent validity.....at the same time that I used the pearson's correlation coefficient for the overall score as a demonstration of convergent validity.
Essentially, I am saying that there is a common universal construct that both tests identify. However, I am suggesting that this new model fits better than the old. can the CFI, RMSEA, AIC, BIC be used in this type of argument?
Hi! Does anyone has any experience with making a working digoxin solution of Digoxin D6003 by Sigma for administration in mice. I read we can make a master solution in DMSO that can be later diluted with Saline.
Any information will be appreciated.
In order to tackle complex challenges we need collaboration across sectors (between state and society) as well as between ministries and administrative levels (e.g. often innovative initiatives are local, but the federal level has littles possibilities to empower their creativity and learn from them). Often gov.labs impact just one ministry or administrative level, and has no mandate to transform the political system as such. Do you know of any successful gov.lab in this regard?
Thanks and best wishes, Patrizia Nanz
Supervision of undergraduate students continues to be an big problem with most university administration, in particular with supervisors themselves , the student fraternity and the student bodies. Supervisor- students relations tend to stress out due to commonly seen problems such as supervisor appears too busy to be effective in his job, or lacks commitment, is partial to certain students, or not up-to-date with the field, or even poor feedback etc. Therefore my question is directed to what style between "traditional academic or traditional scientific" or "hybrid" of supervision is most ideal ?
Literature suggest avoid co-administration of Cholera and yellow fever vaccine and there should be minimum gap of 3 weeks between them . What may be the reasons?
I am looking to make contact with researchers/policy makers who investigate aspects of Social and Emotional Learning across all level of compulsory education from Early Years through Secondary School. If you are or know some one who is investigating Social Emotional Learning please contact me as I am hoping to develop a collaboration to inform/lead the discussion related to Social Emotional Learning in schools.
Also if you can suggest best practice / research related to this topic it would be greatly appreciated.
How can I calculate QALYs from the SF-36 when no preference weights were collected? The SF-36 was administered over an 11-year duration with a baseline administration, and all subsequent administrations were done postoperatively (after intervention). There were eight administrations in total. Disease-specific questionnaires were also administered.
Health information structures (PHR, EMR, EHR and others) integrate and converge must comply with the processing of internal, external, administrative, clinical and personal data. These frameworks can allow data providers and data management or patient-centric information to be segmented according to access needs and data owners.
In Europe, Medical Device Regulation (MDR) & in the USA, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) in India postulated stringent rules that bio-compatibility is a must for healthcare devices, especially for class-III devices.
Why bio-compatibility is necessary and what are those class-III medical devices?
Are you a school administrator in California? Do you see special education leadership as an area in which administrators could enhance their skill set? I have developed a 10 minute to measure administrator confidence and efficacy in areas critical to special education leadership. The data will be used to develop recommendations for training and preparation programs for k-12 administrators. Your participation will be greatly appreciated. I am using higher molecular weight compounds 100-150kDa and they are water insoluble. I have tried cyclodextrin based formulations but they only seem to dampen the effect of the compounds. Are there any other solvents other than DMSO that can completely solubilize these compounds and are safe for in vivo administration?
I've read that there are several methods for the administration of exosomes to mouse models (e.g. intravenous/tail-vein, retro-orbital, intraperitoneal, intranasal, and subcutaneous) and I was just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages of each are – or in other words, how to select the right method for a particular study? For context, I'm wanting to look at the biodistribution exosomes derived from breast cancer cells.
If you could link me any papers discussing these methods that would also be greatly appreciated!
I had submitted my paper to the IEEE Access journal, after 19 days (very fast), my paper was rejected to address the reviewer’s concerns. The journal has a binary peer-review. I received two reviews that were different. The first reviewer accepted the paper and the second one rejected it (and suggested the resubmission). The editor rejected the paper and gave the opportunity of a resubmission. The reviews were very professional and helped improve the paper’s quality, and a reviewer asked me to add his/her citations. After 17 days, I have resubmitted, and after 5 days, the status has changed to ‘Under Review.’ However, after a month, the status hasn’t changed. I had emailed the article administrator and got a reply saying,
“Your manuscript is still undergoing the peer review process. At this time, the editor is still waiting to receive reviews. The editor is doing everything possible to expedite the process. As soon as a decision can be made, you will receive a decision letter via email.”
I have been waiting for two months. I am a bit worried if I am giving impressions like urging them. But this paper is a base of my doctoral thesis; thus, the paper must be accepted within this school year (i.e., by the end of March). I have decided to email the article administrator again and inform him that I need the decision for my graduation and request him to expedite the process if possible, but I still got the same reply. (same as the previous email)
What should I do? I need the decision for graduation. Should I withdraw and submit to another journal (lower impact factor)? What if the reviewer rejects the paper after two months of waiting? Please advise. Thank you in advance.
I am planning to do a questionnaire study. My variables are
university performance (X)
lecturers contribution (Moderator)
1. For collecting lecturer contribution, my sample population are lecturers.
2. For collecting university performance, my sample population is university administration staff
3. For collecting students performance, my sample population are both lecturers and university administration staff
Please tell me should I design two separate questionnaires in one study. What can be the best way of designing this or these questionnaires? Please refer me to any research articles.
Thank you very much for your cooperation
Numerous alliances quickly help more fluid crossover working practices, smooth out business cycles and drive client experience advancement through new digital inferences. In any case, they've likewise extended the corporate assault surface against the background of an inexorably perplexing and thorough administrative climate in consideration of mitigating against cyber losses. An absence of IT-board arrangement on the essential business of network protection takes steps to subvert endeavours to deal with these mounting risks. Can ethically drive IT Board of Directors help in this way, and how best could the Board drive such innovation?
Million doses of Rev-1 vaccine are administrated in small ruminants since 2012 in Afghanistan but still there is no any individual study to evaluate the effect of this vaccine in the decrement of abortion rate in small ruminants and the vaccination effect on incidence of brucellosis in human population. So I want to design a countrywide survey of vaccine efficacy to find the benefits and diverse effect of Rev 1 vaccination campaign on the disease prevalence and incidence in animal and human populations.
So, what would the most effective approach for such study?
I want to write an article on corporate governance and administrative creativity, but I did not find the appropriate title ,can you help me?
I am completing my doctorat studies on Educational ICT.
Can you advice me what are the Best European researchers on digital competence/literacy for high school teachers and administration ?
I am an Administration Manager who supports a Professor and I've been tasked with reviewing and monitoring where their work is being cited. I would have greater visibility if I were able to access the 'your stats' on their profile. Is there a way that, with permission, I could access their profile information?
It is widely agreed that any sustainable development shall be based on sound scientific findings and innovations. The researchers are working in very difficult to develop or promote these solutions. Unfortunately, on the other side, policy makers and executive are working without any clear and stable links with researchers and scientists. This situation create a gap between scientists and policy makers and leading to establishment of unsuccessful and unsustainable development projects in the developing countries.
I am investigating how (dis-)similar bachelor students interested in pursuing a Master's degree perceive according offers (i.e. Master programmes from different universities). Altogether, I am comparing 15 Master degree programmes. Hence overall there are (15*14)/2 = 105 pairwise comparisons to be made. For obvious reasons, I cannot ask each respondent to make similarity ratings for each of the 105 pairings. I wonder if it is legitimate to have each repondent rate one (and only one) pair to which they are randomly assigned. As I do have access to a sample of several thousand students, I expect to have at least 10 similarity ratings for each pair of objects compared. I wonder if this procedure is statistically sound or if, in multidimensional scaling analysis, each participant must rate all possible pairings of objects (Master degree programmes in this case).
I need dataset of road for performing anomaly detection task. A lot of research papers referenced this website https://mivia.unisa.it/. When I browsed the website, it stated that register yourself, and then you will receive an email from the administrator to proceed. I have registered myself on this website for last three weeks through two different accounts, but unfortunately I did not get any email from administrator. And now I urgently need this dataset https://mivia.unisa.it/datasets/audio-analysis/mivia-road-audio-events-data-set/ .
Kindly help me in this regard.
The findings indicated that these schools should have electronic contents for all courses, high speed networks, Internet lines, computers, printers and other related equipments to become complete smart schools. The framework provided a set of guidelines in terms of smart school components in a structured way, which can assist the Ministry of Education and top-level policy makers to improve current activities of toward smart schools .
Besides, the research also contributes towards the expansion of theory and knowledge of smart school which could benefit to other developing countries
If i want to calculate say global morans' I-index over the observation that is dispersed in administrative units to measure the level of clustering on a certain variable is it relevant to do it if i use the geographical data on the administrative units? So observations within the same administrative unit will have exactly the same position and I don't want to measure clustering between the observation across administrative units (i.e I set the observations to be neighbours within each administrative unit). Is a spatial approach the correct way to approach this question if i want to examine if observations in admin unit A have higher levels of the measured varaible in question and are thus clustered compared to admin unit B that has more of a mix of levels of the variable?
Sudanese experience that various traditional herbs, usage and different route of administration can effectively alleviate primary symptoms e.g. fever, cough, fatigue and reduce probability of developing severe conditions.

I had two questions on an article at: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6366437/#:~:text=Single%20GABA%20administration%20(100%20mg,(C%2CD)). Would appreciate your input.
1. I thought GABA in supplement form doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier, or if so, only in small amounts, then why does it seem to function in the mice of this article?
2. Article says “The combined use of GABA/l-theanine (100/20 mg/kg) showed a decrease in sleep latency (20.7% and 14.9%, respectively) and an increase in sleep duration (87.3% and 26.8%, respectively) compared to a single administration of GABA (100 mg/kg) or theanine (20 mg/kg).” When referring only to the GABA/l-theanine 100/20mg/kg dose, why are two percentages mentioned: 87.3 and 26.8%?
3. Figure 2(D) shows GABA(100mg/kg)’s effect on sleeping time to be lower than L-theanine (20mg/kg), but looking at Figure 1(C) and 1(D) it appears GABA(100mg/kg)’s effect is greater. So why does Figure 2(D) show GABA(100mg/kg) to be smaller?
I have to conduct the analysis of data collected through phone survey by an external company.
The sample was pre-stratified based on administrative division, gender and area type (rural/urban). In addition, data weighting has been applied on the collected data, with the objective to compensate non-respondents bias; weighting variables have been gender and area type again, as well as age group and education level.
Is it correct to apply both pre-stratification and post data weighting? Do you undersee any concern with the methodology that has been applied?
Thank you for your support!
I'm interested in learning about and possibly contributing to research on these topics. Are there research groups or researchers who do this? What search terms should I use? I've found a few papers so far, but would like to know more.
I am going to perform behavioral tests, rotarod and Morris water maze, in rats before and after drug administration (7 and 14 days after the first application). In each test, training sessions and baseline data are included. I am not sure if I have to include training sessions at each time point or if the previous training session performed before treatment is sufficient.
Thanks in advance.
What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of studying political science/international relations rather than pure history? Which is more useful for contemporary policy makers?

Comparing the number of pre-published articles between March 15 and April 15, 2020 versus the same period the previous year, Frederickson (2020) observed an overall increase in the number of authors who submitted articles on arXiv servers and bioRxiv .. "I was surprised to see that there had been more pre-publications during the pandemic," admits the researcher. But this may be explained by the fact that a lot of administrative work has been suspended. There are fewer meetings, committees and travel times have also disappeared. ”
However, over the period observed, this increase is lower for women than for men. Between 2019 and 2020, the number of female authors increased by 2.7, compared with a jump of 6.4% for female authors. On the bioRxiv platform, the gap is less marked (+ 24% for women and + 26% for men) but the data used only takes into account the corresponding authors.
I have submitted my work to an academic journal 4 days ago. At first, the status was " manuscripted submitted", then it changed to "with journal administration" and finally today the status is " assigned to editor". Does this mean that my paper has passed the initial screening of the admin? Or no one has viewed it yet?
Conventional anti-toxoplasma drugs such as daraprim (pyrimethamin) have had an adverse effects on female such as folic acid deficiency ant toxicity on bone marrow, so during the gestation ,spiramycin was the alternative drug against Toxoplasma gondii. It is safe and can be administrated till to delivery.
I'm doing research on feline semen cryopreservation. Recently, my Local Ethical Committee disagreed to use privately owned cats for semen collection, arguing that a domestic cat is a laboratory animal and all the experiments must be performed on cats from experimental colonies.
There is no such colony of cats in Poland - does anybody know where it would be possible to perform an experiment in which I need to collect (by urethral catehetrization after medetomidyne administration) and cryopreserve semen three times from the same male?
I would be grateful for any info.

I’ve read some studies re: the impacts of COVID on students who are learning remotely (WEF, OECD, UNICEF) but am wondwring if there are other studies underway that would benefit educators, policy makers and institutions? Tkx for any information!
Good day to all of us. I am thinking of a statistical analysis to be used as partial requirement for the research topic we're conducting. We are seeking to know the preference of students-respondents in selecting their political candidate. We used likert-type items to identify their intensity of preference of the political candidates qualifications (political party affiliation as opposition candidate or administrative candidate or independent, educational background, etc) from 1=Not Preferred to 5=Very Strongly Preferred. We proposed using weighted mean and standard deviation as analysis of preference in their individual options/variables. But we are trying to come up for the analysis in difference of voting preference according to demographic profile of the respondents (course, year level, sex). What can be the possible data analysis to be used in this situation.
Update: Okay, so the only problem we have is how are we going to analyze the significant relationship of different demographic profiles (sex, year level, undergraduate course) in their electoral preferences of the candidate(political generation of the candidate, number of years in service, party affiliation, political platforms, campaign strategy, socio economic status, educational background and family background). Does this needs bivariate or multivariate analysis. And what statistical tools we should need?
This is a systemic failure on many levels- who all are culpable?
Is this practice continuing, on a more subtle basis?
Who supervises the supervisors?
Should non-medical people oversee the administration of Ethics Boards?
When trying to identify language proficiency for cognitive test administration (Spanish vs English) in a clinical trial, what is the best way to ask a participant (via survey) which language they want to be tested in?
A colleague suggested we use the standard way asked by the Dpt of Education in the followig order:
(a) "What language did you first learn?" and then
(b) "What language is spoken most frequently in your home?"
If responses do not coincide then they ask
(c) "If you were to take a test, in what language would you want to take it in to give your best performance?"
Being a native Spanish speaker, I believe we should first ask option c to reach our goal (cognitive testing). It seems to me that asking a and b first is not a personal choice. For example, many of us were raised in Spanish and speak Spanish at home with our parents, but our education was in English and we live immersed in English so we may respond better in English on a cognitive test than if given in Spanish.
What are your thoughts? Is there a scientifically proven approach to this? Thank you for your responses.
SETs are largely used by university administrators in decisions about faculty hiring, promotions, and merit increases, so it is very crucial to learn whether SETs actually reflect the true performance of instructors or it is a biased, pointless, and misleading measure that may shape the faculty behavior and causes grade inflation.
We will soon run a dietary intervention trial and we need the participant to individually collect urine sample after 24 h from the administration of a dietary product. Unfortunately, the administration will probably take place on Saturday and thus they will collect the urine sample on Sundayand come to deliver it to us on Monday.
The question is: what is the best way to properly store the sample during Sunday?
It is sufficient to tell the participant to store it in the fridge or we need to add specific reagents into the screw top container before providing it to the participants (maybe some acids to counteract possible bacterial proliferation)?
I work in a clinical research area where we give study drugs, usually intravenously, then draw PK's and other drug levels at specific time points following the administration. We have some investigators that say all post-administration blood draws must be done peripherally. While others say that after flushing a CVAD well and discarding some "waste" blood, the CVAD can be used for blood draws. of our patients have very limited peripheral access, so a peripheral blood draw may be impossible. Does any know if using a CVAD can skew any results or not? And if so, how long or how much fluid must go through the CVAD before it is considered alright to use? Thanks for your input.
Hello _ I am doing an administrative (not clinical) service review of the London based Adult Eating Disorder service in London, Ontario. I have found good evidence based literature coming from the UK and Ireland but not from Canada at this point. I am very interested in your thoughts regarding the above question. I am also working on a tight time line so would appreciate your response by March 26th if possible _ thank you in advance for your kind attention to this request.

I am currently doing my work in Administration and for my research I require variables that capture the quality of governance and insitutions, I have investigated that the PRS group performs the International Country Risk Guide and their monthly data would be very useful in my research.
However, my university does not have access to the database and I can not afford it since it is very expensive.
I was wondering if anyone with access to the database could please provide me with the data I need.

The software VDatum of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) applicable for the entire Earth? or is it limited to the USA?
Please pin down the sources of information shared for further reading.
Thanks in advance.
Meaning-The Obama administration executive order to enter into the Paris Accord Treaty. The Trump administration executive order - removed the US from the Paris Accord Treaty. Now the Biden administration executive order has entered into the treaty again. This is only one example of many.
Question - are there any studies to eliminate executive powers surrounding environmental issues?
Since last few weeks I am trying to download and see the back trajectory from NOAA website. But I could neither download the data nor can see online. When I brouse the link (https://www.ready.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT.php), it automatically directs to shutdown (https://government-shutdown.noaa.gov/). If it is now shutdown, how can we download HYSPLIT data or see HYSPLIT result online?
Is it just problem with me, or you have also faced same problem. I am looking forward for the solution/alternative for NOAA data.
NOAA stands for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Vitamin E is known for antioxidant property. There are reports suggesting its efficacy in reducing thermal stress in cattle. Parenteral administration is difficult as a routine to large number of cows. Is oral supplementation effective? If yes, how do we arrive at the ideal oral dose rate of Vitamin E required for a large scale trail at district level? ( Green fodder is scanty in the study area)
Quality education is a key component of university education. Its realization among many other factors is driven by appropriate leadership styles. Can the same approach to leadership continue during covid 19?
Many researchers use the term of effect or impact but I think the have to use only relationship. What is your opinion?
- What features the universities of the future will have?
- What should be done by professors, administrative staff and university leadership to be prepared for the future?
I need your professional opinion. I will be highly appreciated for your answers and comments!
Thank you in advance!
