ABSTRACT
The study explored the relationship between mindfulness levels and academic performance among
prospective teachers in the subject of Technical Writing and Presentation Skills at the university
level. The population comprised morning and evening semester prospective teachers from a selected university. Using convenient sampling, an intact group of 80 students (42 from the morning session and 38 from the evening session) was selected, representing diverse academic backgrounds and including both genders for comprehensive analysis. Mindfulness levels were assessed using the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), which evaluated Observing, Describing, and Acting with
Awareness, Non-Judging of Inner Experience, and Non-Reactivity to Inner Experience. Academic
performance was measured by the Grade Point Average (GPA) system. The study revealed considerable mindfulness levels across the five facets, with no significant gender differences, and a significant positive correlation between mindfulness and academic achievement. This study's results
underscore the significant outcome of mindfulness interventions in improving academic portfolios.
The results further recommend that incorporating mindfulness activities/practices within an
educational setting will enhance cognitive development and academic achievement.

Many researchers have found that pedagogical content knowledge may have a negative influence on students' academic performance if it is poorly utilised in the classroom. What must teachers do in this regard?
Is social media use a predictor of poor academic performance? According to Pew Research (2021), “adults ages 18 to 29 say they ever use any social media sites, which is similar to the share of those ages 30 to 49.” Specifically, college-aged students self-reported using Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok over other platforms. The majority self-reported using these services daily, often several times a day. One particular study used artificial intelligence to analyze student profiles as a predictor for success. They found students who remained engaged showed a higher predictor for continuous success, whereas at-risk students were difficult to course-correct, even with over a month remaining before their final marks. With social media use growing exponentially during and following the COVID-19 pandemic, can we correlate this growth as a predictor for student success in the classroom?

I am writing to you today about the educational experiences that Researcher.Life curate for researchers. We are in the process of creating a holistic training course for researchers specifically in Europe and have put together a survey to understand the needs and requirements of researchers better.
The course is meant to be most helpful for early-to-mid career researchers to help with finding work-life balance, emotional and stress management, self-improvement, and enhanced productivity.
It would be great if you could share your inputs and ask fellow researchers who are based in Europe, and who are in your network to fill out the survey, that will really help as well (to get their point of view). The survey should take no more than 3 minutes of your time.

Lockdowns due to the COVID pandemic in last three years (2020-22) has played a significant role in the widespread of online based classrooms using applications like Zoom, MS teams, Webex and Google Meet. While substantial amount of the students were happy to complete their semester classes in due time without getting hampered by the lockdowns, thanks to the online based classrooms, there are also notable amount of students and parents who were complained regarding the online based classrooms that they have drastically distracted the academic performance of students.
Overall, I would like to leave it as an open-ended question. Dear researchers, what you think regarding the online based classroom? Is it an advantage for students or a disadvantage?

In many universities, notably in North America but most likely around the world, there are five-year reviews of professors throughout the careers. The reviews can take the form of assembling pretty well everything they have done in the previous five-year period, including providing vast documentary evidence of satisfactory (or even outstanding) performance in teaching, research and scholarship, and service (and, if applicable, in administration). This is generally an extremely time-consuming, intense and potentially stressful experience, and, equally, it is not always clear what the value of this exercise is. In addition to the potential for (conscious and unconscious) bias throughout the process as well as a number of forms and sometimes quantitative configurations, there is also the normative consideration of ensuring that full weight of given to the contributions that are presented for review. Although the broader public may not be aware of the working conditions within academia, it is important to note that, generally speaking, there are a number of regular evaluation-points that professors routinely must face, including: annual reviews, tenure and promotion reviews, grant proposals, conference presentations, articles and other publications, sabbaticals, teaching evaluations by students, some positions and committees, research chairs, etc.. My question seeks to understand—if there is already robust, intense, high-stakes, regular and relatively comprehensive evaluation of academic performance—is there (significant) added value to these five-year reviews? I am aware of some universities that have eliminated them, and others that have re-negotiated the requirements, but they do remain for the most part intact. Do they support and cultivate more enhanced engagement and performance? How? Would the time and resources required for this process be better spent in cultivating more enhanced engagement and performance?
My research is about critical thinking (CP) and academic performance (AR) in university students. Objective: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in preschoolers usually decreases
their academic performance and disrupts parent-child interactions. The present study aimed at
evaluating the effect of localized play therapy on preschoolers with ADHD.
Methods: The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and
control group. Using a multi-stage random sampling method, and considering the inclusion
criteria, a total of 24 mothers of preschoolers with ADHD were selected and randomly divided
into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in 10 sessions of
localized play therapy (LPT) while the control group received no training. The instruments for
data collection were Vanderbilt ADHD diagnosis parents rating scale (VADPRS) and clinical
interviews. Data analysis was conducted using ANCOVA (analysis of covariance).
Results: The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the
performance of the experimental and control groups at posttest, and upon the follow-up
(P<0.05).
Conclusion: LPT has positive effects on clinical symptoms of ADHD in preschool children.
Hence, this method can be used to improve the mental health of children with ADHD and their
parents.
Is there an online instrument for quick assessment of teacher ability to teach online?
It should “produce” quick results on:
basic ability of using the apps (mic. teams, classroom, zoom, goog. meet…);
best online teaching method(s) and,
best online student assessing approach (or tool).

I am new in the research field. I haven't done any research yet before.
I am trying to do quantitative research on "Facebook addiction and its impact on academic performance". I have declared the variable (i think these are independent variables) for measuring addiction are:
- Mood modification (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
- Tolerance (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
- Withdrawl (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
- Conflicts (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
- Relapse (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
- Salience (5 Questions with 5 point Likert Scale -Strongly disagree to Strongly Agree)
(i have declared facebook addiction as a dependent variable (am I correct? please give a suggestion about this) )
- And for academic performance, I have used 5 questions related to academic performance.
Some other information like age, qualification, marital status, gender, type of study, total spend time on Facebook per day, use of Facebook(for what?), time of usage (morning to night).
So, I am confused about which statistical analysis I need to choose. I want the suggestion about which tools I need to choose and how to complete my research? Please suggest to me the process of completing my research. I
Need to develope conceptual.framework for methodology development
ex: 95-100 excellent, 85-89= very good

Values which are more towards spirituality would be more appropriate
I am researching on the effects of mental health problems on the academic performance of third year students in the school of humanities and social sciences at the university of zambia but I am finding it hard to locate the relevant sources of information for my research such as journals, books, encyclopedia, reports and research papers on the topic.
It is controversial to use citation index to evaluate and rank scholars, but if there is no objective index, they are worried about the influence of subjective likes and dislikes and prejudice. What is the best teacher academic evaluation? How to improve the academic evaluation of teachers?
I'm a bit confuse how to measure students' learning. I have used word 'learning' in my research topic and now I'm struck what kind of questionnaire or any other tool would be used to measure students' learning not their performance or achievement. I need a clarification about the term 'Learning"
I want Researchers from Educational Measurement and Evaluation, relating to teaching, learning , academic performance and test validation
I know some programming language like C, C++, R and familer with basic concept of Matlab and phyton.
As a prospective PhD student in cognitive psychology I'm not sure what should I write about programming in the resume.
In other words, I like to know, what specific skills in programming is important for graduate school?
Hello researchers,
I am conducting a factor analysis (FA). In this FA there are some items on student performance or achievement in relation to different subjects and skills. Each student has been assessed by their main teacher in relation to their skill level in Danish, math, natural sciences, music, reading etc. on a scale from 1 - 5 (from poor to great).
The reliability is high and there is a high degree of correlation between the items. However, when it comes to naming this factor, I am in doubt. I have named this factor 'academic achievement' initially but would it be more precise to call it 'academic performance' or something else?
Do you know any formal definition of academic achievement or academic performance in education research? What is the difference between the two?
Which test should I use to compare students' mood effects on academic performance? I want to compare mood measured on a likert scale (from point 1= very sad to point= 5 very happy) to three different test scores. They assigned their mood before taking the test. Any help?
Thank you in advance.
I'm currently studying the relationship between students' readiness to E-learning and their academic performance.
The variables are:
Students' readiness: I intend to measure it through time-management skills, access to technology, and self-direction
Academic performance: students' grades in the previous semester
The research hypotheses are:
H0: students are not ready for E-learning
H1: there is a significant relationship between students' readiness to E-learning and their academic performance.
(the problem is that I have no idea on how to statistically test these hypotheses)
The rating scale measure their own perspective of their academic performance. It was given pre and post-home visitation.
1 - not satisfied with performance
2 - neutral
3 - very satisfied
I'm working on knowing if there are significant effects on doing home visit service on their academic performance.
I am looking for quantitative data and analysis of the domestic migration of teachers. More specifically, I want to know more about the effect of the domestic migration of teachers on their teaching quality and on their students' academic performance I would like to receive recommended articles on the topic.
For a job, especially at universities we designed a set of criteria. In this the most important one is about number of research papers (publications), impact factor and citation. Generally, a resesrer or a research group add coauthors and made an incompetent person eligible for a particular post. The person, later on destroy everything and a growing research institution/ university go down for a number of years. How we can safeguard our instruments from such things?
