Hi,
I am wondering if anybody can help me. Upon trying to run a qpcr plate on the applied biosystems StepOne PCR machine, I get an error message saying 'run aborted, unable to move block within specified timeout'
The block is able to rise but then the message appears straight after
I have done the usual; rebooting the machine, resetting the computer and I am still faced with the same error issue. I am hoping there is a solution that will not involve a maintenance callout.
Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks so much

am working on static analysis on abaqus where friction coeff. is defined to be 0.01 and everything is going on well ....... on replacing the friction coeff. from 0.01 to 0.3 the job is being aborted even by changing the intial and minimum step time to EXTREME values .......
Any one had this problem before ???
Hello to everyone, I'm new in modeling with apdl, I am trying to model a shelving with shell181. I introduced the geometry with salient keypoint, and after the mesh I tried to create an interlocking constraint. I define 6 costraints (ux,uy,uz,rotx, roty, rotz) but when I run the code, the program abort because there are too much errors deriving from constraints. In particular file.err says as :
" Constraint UZ on keypoint 13 is not transferred to unselected node 7."
for each selected keypoint for all the 6 costraints.
I do not understand why and what can I do to delete this errors
Hope you can help me! Thank you all

I simulated a pile embedded in sand soil. The pile was subjected to lateral and vertical forces. The model was aborted. I have printed the "Job Diagnostic" to present the causes of the aborted model. The problem occurred because of the nodes at the contact surfaces between the soil and pile. Some nodes were overclosure, and others separated, as presented in the figure below. How can I solve this problem?

Good morning,
I am a psychology student and I want to do a research about attitudes to eugenic abortion and authoritrianism. As far as I know there is RWA and RWAS to measure right-wing authoritarianism, but I didn't found any tool for measure left-wing authoritarianism. If you came across for such a tool, please write to me.
I am using CPD model using Abaqus (FEM) I am facing the mentioned error "The plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at 1 points" which aborted the Analysis. What should I do to overcome this error.
At interaction I am using Tie connection for loading and support assembly. The model Analysis completed successfully for 1 MPa or Less than 1 Mpa but when i increase the load it gives me error. The analysis started but after some increment it aborted.
As like when i used the surface to surface (Interaction) contact for loaded plated and steel roller at support then it gives me an error " Displacement increment is too big" and analysis aborted.
The model pic is attached.
Kindly share your views that I have to overcome this error.
I have been trying to run a dynamic (impact) explicit model. Typically a sandwich composite armor is being impacted by a projectile. I have tried several work arounds, but i am pretty convinced that the problem lies with mesh. I have been receiving the error message - "The elements contained in element set ErrElemExcessDistortion-Step1 have distorted excessively". This message pops up after few step increment and aborts.
It would be great if i could use your expert advice on this.
Thank you in advance.

I am doing the tensile test. I am using general contact between the yarns. I am trying many times with different properties but have not been solved yet. All the time the yarns separate and simulation is aborted. Please help me out. Please find my attachment:
Hi,
Dear prof, Dr, Sir/madam
As shown in the attached pics, I am using Abaqus for modeling a RC frame braced by steel damper. I applied a (55) lateral cyclic displacements amplitude steps on the frame. The problem which happened is the steel plate reach its ultimate strength at step (22) while I need to get the results of whole steps to compare it with my experimental cyclic curves and get validation.
Is there a way to make the software complete that analysis to the end?
Thanks

Hello Everyone,
I use tamoxifen inducible cre (cre/ERT2) system to knockout a gene at embryonic day (E11.5). For that I am injecting 1mg 4-hydroxytamoxifen intraperitonealy in 100ul corn oil at E8.5 and dissecting the pregnant female at E11.5 as I am doing some hematopoietic studies.
Most of the time I found 50-60 percent embryos are aborted.
I recently started working with the inducible Cre mice and does not have much expreience with tamoxifen. I look for many papers but I do not find much information injecting at E8.5.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions. I will be very grateful.
Thanks,
Surbhi
First I just established a cube with dimensions of 1×1×1 mm3 and discretized it into 125 elements. Then, the cube was implemented by periodic boundary conditions and subjected to uniaxial tension. ABAQUS explicit was used owing its good convergence. This model seems to be simple and can be analyzed effectively. However, the submitted job was aborted due to error(s), which as follows:
Error in job Job-2: The elements contained in element set ErrElemExcessDistortion-Step1 have distorted excessively.
Error in job Job-2: There are a total of 4 excessively distorted elements
Error in job Job-2: The ratio of deformation speed to wave speed exceeds 1.0000 in at least one element. This usually indicates an error with the model definition. Additional diagnostic information may be found in the message file.
I am confused and try to solve, but the situation does not improve. Could someone help with it? Thanks a lot.
Hi all, I am new to Abaqus and I am recently modelling for a tilt prop that is subjected to gravitational load and axial force, the prop is telescopic and has external and internal tubes, the tubes are connected with a pin inserted to the holes and the analysis is a dynamic implicit analysis. The job aborted halfway through the analysis and yields this error: Time increment required is less than the minimum specified. Can anyone help me with this? I have attached the file below such that you can better understand my situation.
Thanks in advance.
I am working on developing an accurate 3D model.
When I defined the rigid slab the analyses aborted for the static step. In the Message file appeared this:
***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED UNLIKELY.
***ERROR: TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT
I tried different Tie constraint but never change. Does anyone know how solve this problem?
I really appreciate your help and suggestions!

I am running analysis of a cross-shaped sample that is prescribed a displacement along x and y-axes. I have run several jobs with this model and had no issues. However, the current set of conditions I am trying requires multiple steps while previous ones have all been one step. I want to apply a displacement along both axes, then remove the condition on one axis, allowing it to unload while increasing the displacement in the other axis. I tried deactivating y-displacement while modifying x in step 2 but every time I try to run, it aborts as soon as it tries to begin step 2. I have tried several variations including having a step for unloading where the only change is deactivating displacement and it still aborts at the start if this step.

Hello everyone,
Im doing a pushover Analysis of a cantilever beam in ABAQUS, made of reinforced concrete, but my model doesnt seem to converge proberly. The program simply aborts before hitting a run away value, see attach graph. The beam is exposed to bending of course.
I have tested the material model by doing an uniaxial compressive and tensile test, both without rebars and with rebars located in the center of the beam. Doing these tests the model works fine, meaning the calculated responses from ABAQUS are identical to the inputted stress-strain curves.
I have tried the pushover analysis with both the smeared cracking model and the plastic damage model of concrete, but the results are the same. Furthermore I have tested different mesh sizes which all should be within the limitations.
Have anyone some experience to share regarding this? :)

DEAR Sir/Ma,
Good day. My name is Iyaomolere Olubunmi, a postgraduate nursing student from the department of nursing science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Nigeria. I am conducting my post graduate research among mothers of hospitalized neonates and i would like to determine their levels of spousal support.
I want to request that an English copy of the spouse support scale by Yildirim(2004) be shared with me. All attempts to get the questionnaire online proved abortive . kindly share with me or direct me on how i can get an English copy.
I look forward to getting a feedback from you. Thanks in anticipation.
Hi everyone, Im a beginner to Abaqus and I'm having some problems doing some simple benchmark calculations.
One thing is that my model is not aborting when I increase the load (way above the collapse load) so Im not able to investigate the collapse load/runaway load since there is non. Would anyone have some suggestion to solve that?
Im modelling in 3D space, Im using the shell elements S4 and the step increment is very small (initial 0.001 and maximum 0.01), I inputted yield stress and elasticity and it is a static incremental analysis.
The elastic behavior matches the analytical solution (for Euler-Bernoulli Beam), but the collapse load just never occurs for the plastic solution .. see graph
Hope someone can help :)
I am trying to model a disc in 2D as attached here. Because the disc is complete circular object, I tried to tie side A to B using MPC tie constraints. However, Abaqus gives several warnings for the side nodes that “***WARNING: SLAVE NODE 153 INSTANCE FRICTION-DISC-1 WILL NOT BE TIED TO THE MASTER SURFACE ASSEMBLY_FSIDE1_CNS_. THE DISTANCE FROM THE MASTER SURFACE IS GREATER THAN THE POSITION TOLERANCE VALUE”.
I decided to specify a position tolerance value but Abaqus abort the work saying ***NOTES: DISTORTED ISOPARAMETRIC ELEMENTS: ANGLE BETWEEN ISOPARAMETRIC LINES IS LESS THAN 45 DEGREES OR GREATER THAN 135 DEGREES. Nonetheless, when I untick “ Adjust save surface initial position", Abaqus runs successfully with several warnings “ ***WARNING: *TIE BETWEEN SURFACE PAIR (ASSEMBLY_DSIDE2_CNS_, ASSEMBLY_DSIDE1_CNS_) MAY RESULT IN UNREALISTIC DEFORMATION BETWEEN THE SURFACES OR LARGE STRESSES BECAUSE THE MASTER IS NODE-BASED AND NO ADJUSTMENT IS SPECIFIED. DEFINE A SURFACE-BASED MASTER SURFACE OR ADJUST=YES TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. If I tie using surface to surface, I get the same warning and if I tick "adjust ", Abaqus abort because I have specified a tolerance position.
I have also tried to use an input file and tied the side nodes directly using the tie command, yet I get the same errors. Please any suggestions on how to handle this kind of problem.

Can you help with vasp/5.5.4-omc submission script? I tried to submit jobs with same submission script as vasp 5.5.4 but it doesn't work and it sends me the error message:
Primary job terminated normally, but 1 process returned a non-zero exit code.. Per user-direction, the job has been aborted.
mpirun detected that one or more processes exited with non-zero status, thus causing the job to be terminated.
The first process to do so was:
Process name: [[2821,1],21]
Exit code: 29
Submission script I use for vasp/5.5.4-omc is
#$ -S /bin/bash
#$ -q parallel
#$ -l node_type=10Geth*
#$ -l nodes=2
source /etc/profile
module load vasp/5.4.4-omc

mpirun -np 16 vasp_std
rm INCAR KPOINTS POTCAR POSCAR
echo "Job finished at"
date
################### Job Ended ###################
exit 0
The script is same as for "plain" vasp/5.4.4 except for:
module load vasp/5.4.4-omc AND
mpirun -np 16 vasp_std
since I googled it and they suggest for running non default modules to add number of processes, in this case -np 16 as we have 16 cores per node on our computer cluster.
However, 16 is number of cores/processes/nodes although not sure about it as I went through different interpretations. This matches the number of cores (32) I got in OUTCAR when working with vasp/5.4.4. or else it's -np 16 as it's meant to be number of cores/processes per node and I choose to work with l=nodes=2?
Any ideas or suggestions, please?
Hello everyone,
I've made a model in Abaqus which is 2 parts of tibia bone, callus and external fixator. I've used tet mesh and global size 2 for all parts; but I want to user a finer mesh for callus part. When I change the size from 2 to 1 the job is aborted and give me this type of error:
"The volume of 1 elements is zero, small, or negative. Check coordinates or node numbering, or modify the mesh seed. In the case of a tetrahedron this error may indicated that all nodes are located very nearly in a plane. The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemVolSmallNegZero."

Dear all,
We want to model a pressure vessel using WCM (Wound Composite Modeler). We have built a model by following the instructions in user manual and examples. For post processing, UVARM subroutine was generated by WCM Plug-in. Then we have run our input file with UVARM subroutine; however, we have encountered an error as expressed below;
" Abaqus Error: The executable Standard with system error aborted with system error "illegal memory reference". (signal 11). please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files exist."
Since we have no internet connection at our computer where input files are run, we can not generate system information to report. When we search the error on the internet, common offer for solving problem is avoiding parallelization but we have tried it with one cpu and we have encountered with same problem again.
By the way, to compile and run our model, we made some changes in UVARM subroutine file. It is that logical definitions were changed into integer definitions (e.g. false->0 and true->1) because we use gfortran as compiler.
Could you please inform us about the possible solutions to our problem? We're looking forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.

Hello! I want to know if there is a better way to detect the presence of a live attenuated vaccine in animal blood samples. We use the buffy coat fraction to extract the DNA and perform a PCR analysis to detect the genome of the vaccine (B. abortus RB51), but I still wonder if there is another (or better) way to do it (for example, extracting DNA from the whole blood sample).
Any recommendation?

How to conclude?
Last week expert Austin Ruse President/C-Fam, Editor & Publisher/Friday Fax (https://c-fam.org/) raised the alert that the UN is negotiating a new hard-law treaty that will make Church teachings crimes against humanity.
How could this possibly be?
Here’s how he explained it.
" UN Member States are now negotiating a new hard-law treaty on “crimes against humanity.” These are generally regarded as those crimes that offend all of humanity, such as the genocide of the Jews by the Germans during World War II.
The new treaty very well may include the following:
“Sexual orientation and gender identity”
And
“Forced pregnancy”
Please knew we oppose all unjust discrimination against those with same-sex attraction. However, we cannot support the idea that opposing “sexual orientation and gender identity” as a new “crime against humanity.” This would criminalize the teachings of the Church.
We faced the notion of “forced pregnancy” when the International Criminal Court was negotiated twenty years ago. In the hands of the left, “forced pregnancy” means that a woman cannot get an abortion.
Working with UN Member States twenty years ago, we got it defined as the repeated rape of a woman for the purposes of changing the demographic profile of a country, literally holding a woman prisoner until she gives birth.
But, the left is back again and they want to insert “forced pregnancy” into the new treaty but without a definition so they can define it later against the unborn child.
This is how the new treaty will criminalize the teachings of the Church. And this is why we oppose this new language, and why we need your help."
I think that it is a problem for all humanity, it is not only a problem for catholics like myself. It seeks to force pro-abort legislation in all countries that have some protection for the unborn. If this UN treaty is approved, besides multiplying the number of aborts, many more women would be dangeroulsy wounded in their feminity because the post-abort syndrom, and beside the problems of an aging population would increase without limit. This is really irresponsably encouraging an inhumane behavior. For what use is the UN today?

I want to simulate the ARB simulation in Abaqus, I did the first model for two layers for the first cycle and it works but when I want to do this model for the 2nd cycle or decrease the thickness I received an error and simulation is aborted. Hi,
I'm trying to model the failure mode of an simple rectangular FRP sheet with Hashin damage criteria, but I couldn't get the element deletion initiated, even though the HSNFTCRT (hashin damage criteria) for some elements has already become 1. Following are some clues and details for my modelling so far:
1) A homogeneous shell planar part was chosen so there's no much choice for the orientation, but the part is meshed in its fibre direction. Since the fibres are all unidirectional I don't think composite shell would make much difference.
2) For the material properties I entered elastic lamina properties with fail stress and strain, followed by Hashin damage criteria and damage evolution.
3) I tried Mesh > Element Type > Element Deletion ON, but the deletion could still not be initiated. Standard or Explicit didn't make too much difference.
4) When applying the load I chose a static, general step with a displacement load on one edge of the sheet. Changing the displacement value didn't make much difference since the job would abort close to the failure stress/strain from material properties.
5) I turned on STATUS, DAMAGEFT and HSNFTCRT in field output request, and for the results, the STATUS always gives an output of 1 and DAMAGEFT mostly gives 0, even though for some elements the HSNFTCRT gives 1, meaning the fibre tension failure criteria has been reached.
6) I realised it might be too perfect if a pure rectangular model is created, so I also tried to model a 'necked' sheet (like an hourglass shape rotated 90 degrees), but the jobs still get aborted due to 'too many attempts' or 'time increment less than minimum'. I think it's because that no element deletion is happening, and so the solution is not convergent.
I have searched for videos, tutorials and some other similar questions, but the results aren't too helpful. Therefore, I tried to make my situation above as detailed as possible. I appreciate for any ideas provided about this question, and for any other information I didn't mention above, I will try my best to check often and reply ASAP. Thank you very much.
Please help me with this topic, I made few changes in namelist.input, the model runs for few minutes and aborts.
I am completely new to this topic.
Please help me out.
Many Thanks.

I had make made ONIOM input file from PDB file used 2 layers i.e. B3LYP/6-311++G(2d,2p): AMBER, but I don't know why it always get error (error message: "aborted....", "segmentation violation"). however, if I tried to use B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p): UFF, it worked.
why could it be happen?
how to solved the variation with Amber problem?
what variations are apropriate with amber in gaussian?
thanks in advance.
Hi all,
I'm simulating a delta wing. I have created a hexa mesh in ICEM. For my initial boundary layer height of 2e-6m the simulation ran without any issue in ANSYS CFX. Now I reduced the value to 8e-7 and CFX aborts with the error that the symmetry plane is not a strict plane. It states the face set 5 in the symmetry boundary patch causes the issue.
I wonder how I can resolve the issue/ find the issue in first place (find the boundary patch). My domain is very big and has 6 million elements so looking at the mesh itself proofs to be challenging.
I do not want to change the expert parameters and I have already used the "move nodes" tool in ICEM to move all the nodes on the symmetry plane to z=0 (that's where my symmetry plane is).
Can someone help with some advice please?
Could anyone share some work on post abortion care work in Kenya?
hi all,i need your help
i am simulating a (3D Model )sheet bending process with a V shape bending BASE and punch, a packing PLA material also use to protect the impression of Base on sheet.
i required
1: stress strain values (in packing material) while "ONE" sheet bend at 90 degree
2: after how many number of sheet bending the packing material will damaged or not work efficiently.
the load is a apply due to punch travel in U2 direction , mean displacement base in baoundry condition, i do not give "Load" separately
The problem is
when i use "Static General" or " Dynamic Implicit" it give following warnings
1>>>>For *tie pair (assembly__pickedsurf15-assembly__pickedsurf14), adjusted nodes with very small adjustments were not printed. Specify *preprint, model=yes for complete printout.
2>>>>There are 2 unconnected regions in the model.
3>>>>The strain increment has exceeded fifty times the strain to cause first yield at 937 points
and after long time run the analysis aborted with error
"to many increments......."
or mostly laptop automatically shutdown.
when i use "Dynamic explicit " (all other remaining are parameters same) the sheet bending shows a wavy behavior not exact 90 degree which I required,
I have created a Simulink model of PID controlled Bouc Wen MR damper semi active suspension. The feedback signal to PID is taken as sprung mass displacement and reference value is set to '0' (zero). The output of PID control is to be voltage signal for MR damper.
While trying to auto tune the PID controller, I am getting the error:
Linearization aborted because the linear plant model seen by the PID block is effectively '0'.
Ensure the PID loop is physically closed and none of the block in the PID loop returns '0' when linearized at time t = 0.
I have used saturation block after PID with upper limit 5 and lower 0. (as MR damper max input voltage is 5 volts and min is 0).
Error image is attached.
Abaqus take very long time to solve a quasi-static problem and abort at the end .what the possible problems
Compression of a flat Cylindrical Rubber of 50mm dia and 15mm thick by an Aluminium Rod of 16mm dia and 70mm long horizontally placed on rubber cylinder.
BC: displacement of Al Rod 5mm vertically downwards compressing the rubber cylinder.
Simulation converges perfectly within minutes when i use Mesh type: Quadratic, Hybrid Formulation, Reduced Integration with Mesh seed size 3, 4, 5 (mm) for the rubber cylinder.
However, it is not converging for finer Mesh seed size of 1 & 2 (mm). Simulation starts taking smaller time steps after around 80% and after around 90% completion, the Job gets aborted. Shouldn't the simulation converge 100% for finer mesh and produce better results ? Where am I going wrong ?
Hello:
I have been working on proppant transport and hydraulic fracturing in Abaqus for very long, but so far I have only dealt with 2D models, with z-direction being absent. Although, I have applied an S33 compresive stress in the z-direction (like the overburden stress), but there is no simulation or discretization in the z-direction.
But now there is! I am now dealing with 3D model, where the meshing is pretty much the same, except for far more elements. I have attached a picture of my model.
The problem I am facing is that my *GEOSTATIC step is not getting completed. All the displacement changes are achieving equilibrium, but the pressure changes far exceeds equilibrium. I have attached the *.msg message file, where from the very beginning, the correction to pore pressure, at any particular node, is very large!!! Unless, this value goes very low, the *GEOSTATIC step will keep getting aborted!!! What can I do to solve this issue? i have attached the *.inp file as well!!!
Please help me!
Thank you very much,
Mousumi
actually when nMUE exceeds 15 the program gets slower and when increases 20 its aborted. is there any solution to have unique combinations with higher values of nMUE with fast processing.
This is a very difficult subject and has a lot of if's and but's, but still we have many issues with children being abused, suffering malnutrition and living in poverty, my question is Why? We live in a world that advocate's contraception and feel there is a real need to have more effective education. If abortion is criminalised will this cause growth in the atrocities that children have to bare?
One of the most controversial and sensitive issue confronting most individuals: Abortion. A liberal democratic society is the one in which elections are fair and free while encouraging competition in the political process. These type of societies seeks to bring justice and fairness in the political arena, social and economic sectors. In this sense, the government is used as a tool of making decisions where they are needed. On the other hand, democracy brings about vesting of authority on the citizens. In such types of democracies, why or why not should abortion be a criminal offense?
