I am trying to figure out the main differences of the two above mentioned reviews as it seems that some of what was considered until recently systematic reviews, fall into scoping type reviews. Any expert opinions in the field would be highly appreciated.

Is there a place to formally publish scoping review proposals (with peer reviews) similar to the publication place for systematic review proposals (I can't remember the name of the website of the top of my head)?

A complex situation encountered regarding scoping and systematic review studies. i got a reviewer who urgue that one cannot use systematic review and scoping review papers in a systematic and scoping review study because they are not primary data. I am seeking advice from experts in systematic and scoping review, experienced researchers on whether it is allowed, possible and permitted to use systematic and scoping review papers in a systematic and scoping review study, and in which situation such papers can be used?

It's quite good news for the professionals in evidence synthesis as the scoping review can be reported as per the JBI updated PRISMA-ScR guideline. Nontheless, we know that it is very difficult to develop a single tool to assess the qualities of the studies included in a scoping review because of the multiple categories of studies included. However, when the scoping is reviewed systematically with limited categories of studies, such as randomised trials or umbrella reviews, is there any common tool that can be used for the assessment of the quality of the studies?

Can anyone give a detailed explanation on how to write scoping review. I have written narrative review but I don't have complete idea about scoping review. Can someone give me a step by step idea about this with simple explanation. Thanks
