I am looking for help in identifying the organism shown in the photo.

In my opinion it is an organism from the Lepadellidae family, but I am not sure about the species name. I am eager to hear the tips of more experienced researchers.

Other individuals were observed more stretched, so we think it is a Bdelloid Rotifer.

It was caught in a net haul in a shallow, small eutrophic reservoir in Costa Rica.

Note that the scale bar should be 50 microns, instead of 10!

Can some one help me identify this Collotheca ?

We observed a shift from Kellicottia to Keratella along a trophic gradient (other studies have observed the same pattern). What mechanism  can explan this shift?

What do you think for the use of rotifers as bio-indicators water quality in fish pond? We know that some species are have been designated as indicators of Eutrophy, and knowledge about morphological variations and physiological conditions of rotifers should be studied and then they can be used as better indicators of environmental quality.

I would be greatful for any information!

I want to misure the ingestion rate using fluorescent particles and I want to be sure that they don´t egest the microsphere during the fixation.

Do you know which of this ethanol or formalin or other fixatives is the best to avoid the egestion?

Hi to all, 

I have a rotifer culture and i want to gather the dormant eggs to use later. Because sometimes we encounter different problems such as contamination, elevation environmental conditions. To hinder this problem, keeping of the eggs best way to use them later without contaminations.

The shape, colour and structure of this object are similar to a rotifer egg as I know, but I'm not sure about this. Thanks your help!

It`s about 150 micra wide. Fixed with formol.

Found in small river; winter.
