Hi all,
I am working on preparing a dissertation proposal and I'm hoping to recruit families of children from 6-36 months. The goal is to compare differences in parent-centered variables (parental self-efficacy, psychopathological symptoms, etc.) across three groups (single-moms, single-dads, and dual-parent families) in terms of the impact family structure has on child and dyad variables (interaction, parent-child bond, child social-emotional development, etc.).
My question is if there's a good way to recruit single-parent families? I'm particularly concerned about recruiting single-fathers given the difficulty of getting fathers involved in research in general, at least within the U.S.
Would love any thoughts or ideas that may help with planning.
