How much would home-made nuclear bomb cost?
Question
  • Oct 2012
A lot of noise in mass media about "dirty bomb" terrorists may make and use. But how about a real nuclear bomb? It is believed that control of fission materials makes it impossible for terrorists to buy enough on black market, and producing them requires too much people and money and hard to be made clandestine. But are these still true in 21st century?
Besides, there is some speculation on possibility to make nuclear fusion bomb without enriched uranium, basing on things like explosive power generators to start the nuclear fusion:

What do you think about this? Should we fear a nuclear surprise from terrorists?

Any research done or your view on the effect of terrorism on public health?
Question
  • Jan 2015
Terrorism this time ,irrespective of its sponsors, is becoming a common public occurrence. It is a dominant public, media and political discourse. And yet I have not come across a health study that shows how it is impacting the physical and psychological well being of the affected people; how it is impacting the health and associated systems of countries  and what coping mechanisms are put in place or need to be put in place to deal with the problem. Overall, I think understanding terrorism and why it is being scaled up  in practice requires critical intellectual reflection.

Best analysis method to use for my variables?
Question
  • Feb 2021
I need to conduct an analysis and wanted to check if my idea for analysis sounds feasible.
  • I have 3 DVs which are; fear of terrorism, confidence in the police and punitive attitudes towards counter-terrorism measures.
  • I have 3 IVs which include elements associated with social media consumption; frequency of social media consumption, preferred social media platform (e.g. Facebook) and preferred sources for news and info whilst on social media platforms (e.g. News pages).
  • Then I have included 3 additional IVs; age, trust in media and experience with terrorism as well to see their effects.
I was thinking of running 3 hierarchal regressions for each dependent variable, with fear of terrorism and confidence in police being included again in the second and third, as I wanted to see effect between the DVs as well as the IVs.
For each model, I'd put in the three additional IVs (age, trust & experience) in the first step just to see their effects for each DV, then enter the social media consumption variables in the second step for fear of terrorism model, then include fear of terrorism along with social media consumption variables for the second step in confidence in the police model. And again include fear of terrorism, confidence in the police and social media consumption variables in the second step for the punitive attitude model.
I was wondering if that sounded okay, or if there were better ways?

Which one is more dangerous – Institutional Terrorism (State) or Organizational Terrorism (Terrorist Group)?
Question
  • May 2019
Terrorism is a threat for the society and humanity. To get rid of it we need to understand their origins and forms. When a terrorist group attacks us and kills tens of people world Medias cover it, world leaders’ show their concern, society condemn them. However, when a state kills hundreds and thousands of people slowly and brutally only for political purpose, we can see very less and diplomatic responses from the media, leader and civil society.
How to protect our society from all types of terrorism?
