Hello - I am interested to know if there have been any large population studies of this question. In Australia we have population studies about the health status of Aboriginal peoples, but nothing that I know of that links this status with the impacts of colonisation. Does anyone know of anything - perhaps WHO - where this research has been done either in Australia and/or anywhere in the world?

I am planning a research on the factors that influence the wellbeing of people living at or visiting the coast. For this I want to use the concept of Subjective Wellbeing.

Hello, as part of my research I am looking into the wellbeing of those employed in horticulture. Gardening is used as a restorative exercise, my question is gardening as a job as beneficial as doing it as a hobby?

I am going to use the Warwick Edinburgh as part of my research, can anyone recommend other questionnaires that would be useful in terms of questions to ascertain socio economic status etc

I wanted to start a discussion on experience of people using and deliveries Therapies for mental health, isolation and wellbeing.

My personal approach has been to include immersive tech, outdoor pursuits, sight and sound (art and music/film), alternative therapies.

I was curious on your perspectives on this essential area of health.

Social structure shapes how we manage healthy behavior (e.g., having access to healthy food). On the other hand, individuals need to put their own effort in being healthy (e.g., eating nutritious food, avoiding fast food etc.). Which of these factors has more influence?

The arts have the ability to promote, maintain and enhance health. It connects us with our self and others, promotes skills such as problem-solving, novel thinking and can have a sustained positive effect by encouraging self-expression, confidence and good self-esteem. But how much arts engagement is needed before health benefits occur? Are low levels of arts engagement the same as no engagement? Are there parameters for low, medium and high levels of engagement so as to achieve health benefits?

BMC Research Notes is announcing a Call for papers for our latest Collection focusing on data sets to improve wellbeing. We invite submissions of data notes, research articles, and methodological papers exploring data-driven approaches to enhance human or animal wellbeing.

Human interest in ‘wellbeing’ seems to have persisted since records began. Governments center political agendas around it, employers measure it alongside productivity and profit, and over five trillion dollars were spent on it worldwide last year. Despite this fascination with the topic, tracking wellbeing and devising efficient and effective means of improving it often remain an elusive task.

This Collection will provide a platform for insights, strategies, and, most importantly, data sets and data-driven approaches that could help improve wellbeing across diverse cultures, countries, and species.

We welcome submissions on a broad range of topics, including:

•The role of big data in assessing and enhancing mental health.

•Utilizing data to understand social determinants of health and wellbeing.

•Innovative approaches in utilizing data for personalized wellbeing interventions.

•Data-driven insights into community health and wellbeing disparities.

•Evaluating the impact of data-driven interventions on individual and community wellbeing.

This Collection aligns with our commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)3: Good Health & Wellbeing. We believe that harnessing the power of datasets is essential for advancing scientific understanding and contributing to the overall improvement of wellbeing globally.

I am looking for a scale that measures positive mental health (consisting of eudaimonic and hedonic indicators of mental wellbeing) in pre-school children (aged 4-6). Can anyone suggest one? We would implement it in Germany - so a scale in German would be great, but English is fine as well.
