Call for evidence concerning effects on food security due to bioenergy production and use

ISO 13065 - an International Standard for Sustainability criteria for Bioenergy - is currently under development. Working Group 4 is tasked to address the relation between bioenergy and food security. The Swedish Working Group 4 is now asking interested stakeholders to submit evidence on the effects on food security due to bioenergy production and use. The draft standard notes that it is a complex issue, influenced by many parameters and in many ways – often beyond the economic operator's area of control. The distinction between direct and indirect effects is also inconsistent in literature. In an effort to further the existing research, and provide input to the work of Working Group 4, a study focusing primarily on direct effects will be conducted during the summer by Marie Widengård at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg.

We ask for evidence in the form of scientific papers, reports and studies; definitions of direct, indirect and induced effects; and principles, criteria and indicators.

Submissions are welcome from all sectors including scientific and research institutions, governments, local authorities, the private sector, and NGOs around the world.

The information and material will help shape the formulation of definitions, principles, criteria and indicators on bioenergy production and use and its linkages to food security.

I am an Egyptian doctoral student at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), a specialised institution in maritime transport. In my thesis, I am researching port security risk assessment.

This questionnaire is intended to identify the most important parameters in each of the three main groups used to evaluate the port security risk, which are threat, vulnerability and consequence, using the most important approaches in this field. Your judgements will be combined with judgements of other respondents and used for the sole purpose of accomplishing this task. Your judgements, which are supported by your valuable practical experience, will help me to prioritize the parameters adopted in each methodology and to decide whether to select one of the approaches considered or to possibly propose a hybrid methodology.

I want to write a new anonymous routing protocol in NS-2 and compare my results with the previous protocols to see how good my protocol is in performance evaluation. I need NS-2 simulation codes of previous protocols such as ANODR, SDAR, MASK, USOR, etc. How can I access one of them? Should I personally write their NS-2 codes? If I myself create the NS-2 code, will the results be reliable? Do you know any other way for that? Or any other suggestions? By the way, I tried to email the writers of some of these protocols but they have not answered me so far.

I need to know about the QoS requirements e.g. bandwidth, delay, loss, number of hops, security requirements etc for different MANET applications like VoIP, audio/video applications, email etc. Although there are articles mentioning these requirements in the case of wired networks, I didn't find any describing the requirements for MANETs. Kindly if someone can provide me with the links of such articles, it will help me a lot in understanding the application requirements.

I hold Ph.D. in Plant Genetics. I am seeking for Postdoc in Plant Breeding and Genetics. I have published thirty-two (32) agricultural demand-driven and applied research articles.
