Is there a method to average multiple hot spot analyses?
Question
  • Apr 2020
We collected three ecological variables from a study area in nearly every months for three years. We would like to perform optimized hot spot analyses in ArcGIS on these months and then check the patterns in different time intervals. My question would be, that how can I average the results of the hot spot analyses for these time intervals? For example I would like to check where were the hotspots usually between September and November (which means 3 running of the analysis as it means 3 different months).

Panel Data and Spatial Data Analyses in Eviews, R and SPSS?
Question
  • Oct 2019
I have data On EU countries (GDP per capita ) and want to do these tests. I keep getting an error when I try to do it in R Studio. Are there any formatted datasets ready for R already? The challenge I believe is preparing the data correctly.
When I try to do it in Eviews, I cannot see the Panel Options to change the tests - random, within, fd, fixed.
Also can I do these tests in SPSS? How is Spatial Modeling done step by step in SPSS?
Please advise. Thanks

What is the usability of space syntax in land value analyses?
Question
  • Jun 2013
Space syntax is the analysis of empty space in architectural and urban space scales through a graphic schema, it is helpful in explaining associations between fluxes and the configuration of the built environment, thus associated also with the land use and socio-economic spatial patterns. Any literature in the use of this space syntax and its usability in doing land value analyses (land appraisal) for taxation purposes?

Does anyone know of any scripts, programs, or software to run statistical analyses on spatial polygons?
Question
  • Mar 2015
I have created polygon shapefiles of vegetation patches (attached) and I would like to analyze them on the degree of clustering, orientation, directionality, etc. in comparison to a null model of randomly distributed patches. I am having difficulty finding software or scripts that will work for such an analysis (most specifically focus on point pattern analyses). I have tried 'spatstat' in R, but I am having no luck. Does anyone know of any tools that could help me? I would prefer any that may be free/open source, or can be used in common statistical programs (R, JMP, SPSS, etc.)... the more accessible the better!
Thanks!

Question
  • Apr 2017
Dear all...
When dealing with technology/knowledge spill-overs, especially in agriculture, how to explain a cluster having high spatial association with possible spill-over effects within the cluster? Are there any economic/development theories behind it?
Thanks in advance.

Question

Conceptualizing the spatial organization of defense production shares common element with "health production" (such as growing cost of infrastructures, optimal coverage of space, etc.). Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

What are the most common indicators for level (degree) of socio-economic space polarization?
Question
  • Mar 2019
Dear colleagues! I would like to evaluate how polarized is the socio-economic space of a region with regard to certain statistical datasets (e.g. household income, quality of housing, toxic emissions etc.) for all the municipalities of that region. Also it would be useful to find out how did polarization change through years and what are the estimates of its future level (degree). What indices do I best use in that case?
