For example H1: Post product harm, avoiding repurchase is positively related to protective behavior?

There is no empirical studies to support such a hypothesis to my best knowledge. But say you have created the items for avoiding repurchase and protective behavior in a survey. 

What is the appropriate way to write a hypothesis which isn't support by theory or empirical studies? 

Can one make a logical argument?

Can we use more than one study design in a quantitative study? For instance, cross-sectional and case-control in one study.

Normally, I used case study and archival research to study the evolution/changes of an industry overtime. However, I am wondering if there are other recommended methodologies to study this kind of research, e.g. interview (sound impossible?) or different approach? creative approach? or innovative approach? I am going to evaluate the pros and cons between these appraoches (if any).

Effect of general method biases on item reliability and validity

I want to start a case control study. The case is a diabetic patient and the control is healthy individuals. The research is quantitative; I determine the bilirubin level between two groups. I want to select two control for each case the case to control is matching according to age sex and weight is it the correct way and how do I calculate sample size. 

How to determine which type of sample size calculation method on GPower or other calculator for this cross sectional study?

Qs: Does better knowledge and use of sublingual GTN improve Quality of life in patients post acute MI.

Objectives:

1. To determine the knowledge and use of sublingual GTN among acute post MI patients

2. The determine the factors that are associated with the knowledge and use of sublingual GTN

3.The association between the knowledge and use of sublingual GTN and Quality of life in patients post acute MI.

Sociodemographic factors are Nominal and Ordinal variables

Knowledge and use of SLGTN are both nominal and ordinal variables.

Quality of Life is quantitative variable

I will use a survey in 3 settings ( A.B.C) in one city. Setting A is holding the National training programme in the country.

I find that the program was changed according to the needs of staff in each setting(B,C), but in setting A, it has branches around the country that used the same national training programme and applied it in another region in the country with no changes. So the national training program is the same in one setting in my study setting but modified in the other settings in the same city( setting B, C).

I am still waiting for the ethics committee approval in setting C, but I got the approval from A, which I can request amendment and collect the data from the settings using the same national program in different regions. Do you think an excellent chance to have a great study collecting the data from the setting that used the national programme in different regions or collecting the data from one city in different settings that provide the modified training in different objectives?

I hope to hear your suggestions.

Is the CONSORT checklist appropriate for reporting a same sample pre- and post-test study? or are there other checklists out there for this specific research design? Thanks

The study is purely quantitative and intends to look into the relationship between school assessment and external assessment like BECE. The researcher intends to collect from the school authorities the past performance records (scores) of the students. The researcher wants guidance on the type of quantitative study design that would be suitable for the study. Thanks.
